This is the only boba place in central downtown and I'm all for it. Boba is definitely on the rise here in KC and this location is in the perfect spot, good for lunch hour or after work drink. I like the selections of drinks here and how you customize your sugar levels too. They also have merch, games, and seats to enjoy your tea or you can get it to go. Can't go wrong here. Would come again.

Got the tropical fruit tea with lychee jelly. I love fruit tea!! So tasty. The creme brulee is really popular here and I can see why! It was so good. Tried the strawberry cheesecake which was also good. Hard to find quick parking to go in and out here at this location. So many options. I want to try them all.

Ordered the creme brulee milk tea, brown sugar boba latte, jasmine oat milk tea and berries & cream croffle. They were out of the cinnamon sugar, as well as fresh strawberries that go with the croffle so we agreed to just the blueberries. The croffle was delicious. Not much you can say about it - it's super tasty. Good amount of crisp, yummy flavor. Good sauces. The brown sugar boba latte was pretty good. The jasmine oat milk tea was ordered with zero sugar but it was incredibly sweet. They then told us that their jasmine tea is batch brewed with sugar added to it and that they also add condensed milk to it. It was so sweet - much sweeter than the brown sugar boba latte. They offered to remake it with decaf green tea and that it could be made unsweetened. I really appreciated that they re-made it but the 2nd jasmine oat milk tea tasted soooo watered down. I wasn't able to drink either.

Wow their base is tea no wonder why the drinks are so delicious! I got a matcha slush and I thought it was going to be some milky sweet slush, but it had a very flavorful jasmine tea flavor! Most boba shops I think do water? I'm not sure but they should learn from these guys! I never had anything like this, very lucky to have found this place. It's kinda higher price (7$) but whatever it's worth it!

The drinks were okay. Nothing too crazy. But the lady behind the counter taking our order was so rude. She was annoyed at any questions we asked. It was very busy and I get people can have hard days but she was so rude :( it was a very cute boba place but the customer service was awful.... Also it took an hour to get our drinks. update all of us who got drinks in my group got sick idk what was in the boba but all 5 of us are nauseous now

We have to face it, Boba is mad trending again, and these little balls hold a lot of power in a competing specialty food market. What once was the Era of cupcakeries on every corner now, has been bombarded by Boba and Fat Bee is one of the newest to pop up in the metro area. With one up north and one in downtown Kansas City, and maybe a few other locations I am not aware of. This is a review of the downtown branch of the killer (as in "that's killer dude! and not as in murderous) bee. One day I found myself meandering downtown and I was craving something sweet but fresh, an oxymoron conundrum that is usually easily solved with something sipable, sizable and fruity. However, then instantly I was met with a waft of sadness reminding myself that Ruby Jean's was closed at their once downtown location. But upon walking towards the old Ruby Jean's location I saw a beacon of hope in the form of a cutesy drew insect bee and the Fat Bee logo. I went inside and could tell this place was brand spanking new, it was bright, it was insanely clean and some of the fake plants still had the price tags on them...haha but, that is not a bother to me at all. They also had an adorable photo op wall with fake greenery to snap pics of your colorful creations in front of. There was one person in line in front of me and she promptly ordered and left all while I was checking out the extensive menu. So many Boba choices! I settled on a tropical sunset with 50% sweetness with popping mango Boba pearls, my favorite second only to lychee popping Boba pearls, and once rang up the total with tax was over $8. Which is why I lowered it a star because even for other specialty Boba places except for one very upscale one on the country club plaza I thought the drink price was $1 too high. It is to mention though, while I was waiting for my Boba drink a large group of ladies who seemed to be either tourists in for a wedding or Bachelorette weekend (now I'm really just taking liberty to create a storyline they could have been business ladies from one of the buildings next door for all I know) came in and seemed to have little to no problem with ringing in even more elaborate drinks with even higher pricetag so maybe I'm just a cheap a**The drink though good just didn't seem to warrant such a steap price and wish other sizes were offered because I can barely ever get halfway through a Boba drink even at 50% sweetness and the Boba isn't as fresh the next day.

Four stars since their milk teas tasted more sweet than actual tea to me. But then again, I also tend to like my drinks a bit stronger in tea flavor. Their fruit teas though are delicious! Definitely recommend the strawberry sangria!Love the little snacks, plushies, and charms they sell inside. It makes waiting for the drink more fun!

Simple and clean Nice staff Not a fav or the sweetness measurement. I tried the Creme Brulee Boba Latte, Matcha Milk Tea more sweet, and Hawaiian Sunset with Passion Fruit Boba. They do not have the spill free vacuum sealed tops. Well the milk tea was wrapped- so I asked to have my other beverages sealed. Loved the Creme Brûlée latte

Service is very quick despite how busy it gets! There isn't street parking, but there is a parking garage down the street which charges $5/hr. I ordered the FATBEE milk tea ($5.75 plus $0.85 for brown sugar boba) and it was pretty good! It tastes authentic. It is fairly sweet, and I think I would've enjoyed it more if I reduced the sweetness. I also ordered the Oreo crumble croffle ($5.99). I think it's a croissant and waffle combination. It's topped with condensed milk and crushed Oreos. It's crispy and flakey! I really enjoyed it. This place doesn't have too much seating, but there is an indoor and outdoor patio available. I dined in and I'd say it was pretty quiet and did not disappoint.

The best boba tea/handshake tea in the Big Kansas Area!! But also be prepared it's the most expensive boba tea in the area. The key is the ingredients, tea leaves they use. The tea they use is in great quality, having strong tea flavor, and the milk powder is also in the best quality. Probably they don't add much water so that's why it can keep the taste of "tea" To be honest, it is the best boba tea I've had in the America (lived in Boston, traveled to different city on the east coast, west coast, and Texas) And Boba tea is originated from Taiwan, my origin. Good job, FatBee. The only thing that may need to be improved is the service. I felt great energy when I walked in to the shop, because the decorations were so vibrant and delightful, but when talking to the staff the energy went disappeared... not like the service was bad, the staff got jobs done, but the shop could have some more smiley face.
