Farina may very well be my new favorite restaurant in Kansas City. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional, and the food was nothing short of amazing.We started with the gnocchi, which I highly recommend sharing--it was one of the best I've ever had, rich and full of flavor. For our mains, we ordered the cacio e pepe and tagliatelle bolognese, which were both perfectly balanced and expertly prepared. To finish, we had the affogato for dessert, a simple yet delightful way to end the meal.Our server, David, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, and always ensuring our glasses were full. He made great recommendations and truly elevated the experience. A special highlight was meeting Michael, the owner, who personally came to greet us. When we mentioned our upcoming trip to Italy, he even shared some restaurant recommendations, which was a wonderful touch.Overall, Farina exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of impeccable service, high-quality ingredients, and a warm welcoming atmosphere makes this a must-visit spot in KC. I'll definitely be back!

Farina is hands down my favorite restaurant in the city! Every time I visit, I feel like a VIP guest. The staff is expertly trained in customer service and hospitality, making the experience truly special. I'm absolutely obsessed with Michael and Nancy Smith's carefully curated food and wine menu.The handmade pasta is my go-to for any occasion. We usually start with the shared duck meatballs, which are incredible, or I'll opt for one of their seasonal salads. And don't skip dessert--each one is expertly crafted with beautifully melded flavors!The interior design strikes the perfect balance of high-end elegance and comfortable warmth, making it a place where I want to spend the whole evening, from the bar to the dining room. Their happy hour specials are fantastic, featuring great wines--like my favorite Barbera at one point! You'll be pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices for such high-quality food and wine, making Farina a must-visit!

This is definitely a place to check out if you're in KC, and craving some pasta with some seafood. The service is great, ambiance is nice but can get pretty loud. Would I say it's super romantic there? Probably not as much? But a nicer casual date or with a small group of 4 is perfect. Parking is like most other places in the crossroads- gotta find street parking or choose their valet. To start, we got the olives, in olive oil and bread/crackers. I am not an olive person, but these are actually good- not super salty and vinegary or bitter. We got the jumbo shrimp, which were fine and tasted like good shrimp. We also got the oysters from different areas. Delicious. Main, we got the squid ink spaccatelli, which also contained king crabs. We got Sardinian black rice, grilled octopus, and another pasta that I'm not sure is on the menu haha. It was a white pasta with chain look like pasta.

It was a very nice restaurant and the service was top notch!! I wasn't a fan of the octopus but the bread and dessert were amazing! It's a little over priced in my opinion. I thought the food was good but I prefer to just go next door to Extra Virgin and save some money and enjoy just as good food, if not better.

This place is a must! Very stylish and intimate setting. Our server was very attentive, gave great recommendations and was very detailed when it came to the different selections of oysters. I love oysters and decided to come here due to them having an oyster bar. They offer both East and West coast, lots of options to choose from. The marinated olives are SO good! They were very fresh and well seasoned. I tried the expresso martini 10/10 as well as the oysters. I'll definitely be coming back to try the other options on the menu. I highly recommend dining here especially if you like oysters.

First time visit for drinks, oysters and appetizers, lovely surprise! The oysters bar is fresh and I enjoyed sitting at the bar. We started we some Amaros, really good hard to select only one! Prosciutto with pickled cherries was a surprisingly good combination, crisp white wine complemented the jumbo shrimp cocktail.Great ambiance and service.

Farina is a KC staple, and I'd say it's a must visit place when in the city. The Lemon creste di gallo and lamb meatballs were amazing! Always a great vibe, even on a cold snowy night. Wine selection is great, service is lovely, overall a great experience. Must try!

The Kc Today Drink Up Week Special Cocktail $12 Oaxacan Clover Club It is one of the most balanced drinkable mezcal cocktails I've ever tasted. Sometimes, I feel the smokiness of mezcal can be hard to tame. The flavor can be very distinct and polarizing. However, the bartenders at Micahel Smith's Farina know how to concoct a drink that is incredibly balanced. It has been a while since I had chosen to imbibe in a cocktail with egg white foam on top but, it was just as delightful as I remembered. A nice frothy topping with a sweet, with a hint of smokey, raspberry liquid below. It was one of the most perfect summer drinks I've ever sipped.

The food here was either a huge hit or okay. The risotto was delicious. We also had rabbit gnocchi which was amazing. The carbonara was just okay anf the tiramisu was lacking espresso. Service was quick and friendly. The space also has good views to street watch

Ok, look, Farina is an excellent restaurant with wonderful food, and they don't need to rely on a review from me to stay (deservedly) popular. The reason I'm going 4-star is because for the type of restaurant they are, I expected to be blown away and instead I was just... impressed. The only thing I tried that I wouldn't try again was the Gnocchi Pomodoro, which was very plain and would have benefited from some spice/heat. That said, most of the rest was just *good*. The standouts, though, were the Saffron Risotto and the Potato Gnocchi (with rabbit, leeks and shiitakes). Both of those were INCREDIBLE, I've gotta say. If those would have been the only things that I tried, I would have gone 5-stars without question.I do expect to return and try more items, and I'm sure I'll find a couple more gems when I do.
