I'm new to town and I have been looking for a spot to get my rolls developed. A friend referred me to Steve and I was skeptical at first since I was unable to figure out the whole "Drive thru" process. I finally met Steve when I attempted to drop off some film and he is the nicest guy ever. Extremely knowledgeable about film cameras, film, the whole nine yards. After dealing with him I don't plan on dealing with anyone else. Although his wait time for developing are long the wait is worth it for the quality and careful work he and his team do!

Express Photo provides quality film developing in the KC area! I decided to try them out after seeing reviews online, and I can assure you that the quality if great! Steve was very knowledgeable and super friendly to talk to about film.I will say, the drive-thru/way to drop off film can be a little confusing (was deterred my first time I went because I didn't know what to do), and it is cash only fyi! Steve was also accommodating and was able to load my images onto a flash drive that I brought. Because Steve is the main person developing the film, it can take a while to get your images back. It took about 10 weeks for me to get one roll of film developed/processed, but it was definitely worth it. If you want your film processed faster, I would recommend going somewhere else. But if you are willing to wait and get some great images, I can vouch for Express Photo.

I had a wonderful experience at Express Photo when I dropped off my 35mm film. It was my first time getting film developed, so I knew I would have questions about exactly what I needed/wanted done. The owner was very kind and took the time to explain all of the processes and options I had for devolving, and I learned a lot. Processed negatives, cut into strips at $4/roll was what I ended up going with, but they do scans and prints as well. After a couple of business days, my film was ready. Bring some extra cash when you pick up your items because they keep some nice professional quality film behind the counter. This guy does work for Ken Burns, the National Archives, a myriad of other professional photographers, film students, and enthusiasts/hobbyists. This is a place that prioritizes quality over everything, and if you're serious about your photos, stop by here sometime.

Awkward drive thru access only I found out after I tried to enter through the door, no signage stating that...I came to get some slides scanned to photos but was told they "weren't even doing that now" due to workload, what kind of business does that? Don't waste your time.

Hands down best processing in Kansas City and probably everywhere. I've sent film to Indie Film Lab and Dwayne's Photo and the scans I got back from Express were just as good if not better.$10/roll developed and scanned. No extra charge for .tiffs. I've gone in and asked tons of questions and they've always been willing to help me out and give me a lot of their time.

I've been getting my film developed here for years! The owners are the nicest people, husband and wife. He is so knowledgeable about film and every time I take some film in he has a tip or recommendation. The quality of prints are ALWAYS fantastic and I also get the CD and it works wonderfully. He's told me he does the film processing for the Government Archives so you know he's legit.

Been going here for YEARS now ( since like 2018) and i have NEVER had an issue or bad quality with express. Steve's taught me so much over the years and Sherry is such a delight to see whenever she's working the drop off/pick up window. I recommended everyone go here for their developing and scanning and shoot even to just get some info too!

This is the best film developer/restoration service; probably in the country. They use custom equipment combined with years of experience that will produce the best results possible. Also this is one of the few places that will return your negatives, which you will lose if using one of the major mail off companies like cvs or Walmart. They get orders from all over the world so there may be a little extra wait as compared to some other developers but the quality is well worth the wait.

Cash only place! I went in the day after buying a new-to-me film camera because it's the closest place to downtown that sells film. Luckily, I brought my camera because I was going to ask to be shown how to load the film. The owner spent thirty minutes with me showing me all of the functions of my camera and gave me film to practice. I ended up not buying anything because I didn't realize that this shop is cash only, but needless to say, they have gained a loyal customer! I was so impressed with the patience shown to me (the owner used to be a photography professor in California so it all made sense afterward). I have no doubt that my film will be in expert hands from the moment it arrives until the moment I take it home!

This place is owned by the sweetest couple. They're always up front about wait time but I've had photos developed even in a day sometimes. They are so knowledgeable about film and cameras and always provide suggestions. I love how they know their regulars too.
