I ran across this produce market while driving south on Wornall. I pulled in to take a browse and found they had some fresh fruit, veggies, local honey, and bbq sauce. The prices seems to be doubled from the stores but the fruit and veggies are fresh and tasty. There was one bag of Ranier Cherries left and I snagged them up! They were juicy and sweet, but so darn expensive. I asked about the price of their (seedless) watermelon and was told it would be around $10-$12 dollars. Now, this is the same size that you'd find in your local grocery store AND it had the #4032 store code sticker attached to each melon. Hmmmm! This 16oz local honey that I purchased for $11 better give me a pick me up! The owner and employees are very friendly. You don't have to ask for help, they automatically pick up your box and take it to your car, after checkout.I believe this is the same guy that used to sit in the front lot of the Price Chipper on 103rd, between State Line & Holmes. Will I return? Probably but I would get as much as I did the first time.

My kids love going to this produce market - and I love that they carry your grocery's to your car (very helpful when you have little kiddos in tow). Everything is clean and organized - and we've always been happy with the produce, flowers, apple butter, etc. Staff is very friendly and helpful - It's a weekly stop my girls love to make.

This place is a joke. Do NOT waste your money here (you'll be spending A LOT). I went on a Friday, the owner tried to tell me his tomatoes were the best I would ever have... NOT! They feel like wax just like the ones at the grocery stores. I even pointed this out to him, he still insisted his were the best. He then tried to talk me into getting 5 big ones...Hahaha... this guy didn't even know what kind of tomato he was selling me... anyways, as I told him twice, I can't eat 5 that quickly... thinking these will last for several days. I get home, cut one up and it most certainly is NOT the ("best tomatoes I'll ever have") Eeek...disgusting! Well... I guess since I finally talked him into the fact that I'm only going buy 3 big tomatoes and some cherry tomatoes ( pretty good)... the next day rolls around (Saturday) and I go to move the tomatoes out of the way... unreal, I pick them up and they're both turning black on one side and have soft spots on the other. I proceed to drive a half hour round trip to take these two back. I walk up to him and tell him what the issue is. He then tells me there's nothing wrong with one of them, I have to point it out to him and show him and he then tells me he has a box full of tomatoes just like that. He sure did, a big box of rotting tomatoes. His attitude at this point, yep, even worse than when I first bought his product, was crappy... and that's being kind. He goes and grabs two much smaller tomatoes and says these are going to do that too, try laying them on their side, he says. Little did he know, the ones I returned were not laying on anything when I put them down. I had them in a bowl on top of the cherry tomatoes. They weren't on the counter as he suggested. You guys... I went to a vegetable stand over by Martin City on my way to Walmart last month... their tomatoes, which I bought numerous varieties of and we're MUCH cheaper and MUCH better than his, ALL LASTED ALMOST 2 WEEKS! Moral of the story is, in my humble opinion... TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. He's a cocky prick, to say the least and his tomatoes SUCK! And his prices SUCK as much as his personality and attitude. I didn't even get a thank you for purchasing his crappy tomatoes nor a sorry for the junk ones he sold me and had to bring back. I'm pretty sure he'll see this review (fingers and toes crossed that he does)... you're welcome, buddy! SMH... I'll be taking my business and my money back to the one by Martin City. They're kind, respectful and very, very thankful for your business. And, their tomatoes and everything else I bought there are fantastic and last for so much longer than you would expect. Hey buddy, get an attitude adjustment, lower your prices, stop lying to your customers and be grateful you even have customers at this point. I'll NEVER be back! And, I'll be sure and tell everyone I know not to go there as well. By the way... before I forget, I was charged $18 for his nasty 3 tomatoes and the cherry tomatoes. At the other stand I spoke of, I bought 7 very large tomatoes, 2 large green tomatoes and a huge bucket of cherry tomatoes and only spent $17. And again, they all lasted almost 2 weeks. I actually got to finish all of them and they were absolutely THE BEST TOMATOES I'VE EVER HAD!
