I recently got married at this beautiful venue! It's owned by a mother/daughter team, and the event space is actually on their land where one of them lives in a BEAUTIFUL home! The space is located just outside of Weston, and the ceremony area backs up to a beautiful field with a tobacco barn in the distance. They've done a lot of landscaping around the area, so there are flowers and mature trees any where you look! They've got two places outdoors where you can have an open-air wedding, and they even have a third space that's covered. Yay for an included rain plan!Christy and Kate, the owners, were wonderful to me throughout the wedding planning process! They returned my emails in a timely manner, and were easy to work with to make my dream wedding happen.I like that they allowed us to use several different things throughout the property without an additional charge. I even needed a small table for the ceremony and they took one right out of the management office for me to use for the day! These ladies know how to figure things out and make it work! When I got the hair brained idea that I wanted wedding pictures IN the tree out front, they found me a stepladder to make it happen. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because of a couple of snafu's during the months leading up to the wedding. About a month after we signed the contract, we got a letter from them saying that we suddenly had to pay taxes on something that wasn't included before. It wasn't a huge amount, but it was $200 or so that we hadn't planned on, and I'm still unsure of what exactly we were having to pay for. The other issue was that the lady (note that it was neither Kate or Christy, although they showed up later in the day) who was there while we decorated wasn't the most friendly. I never got the lady's name, but she criticized our drink choices, made fun of the decorations, and when I went to fill up a bucket of ice, she told me that it was too early to do so. (I knew I had guests coming in a couple of hours and I wanted to have the water bottles cold before they got there. I also knew that I wasn't going to have anyone around who could fill the buckets for me later, so what ended up happening? The groom and I filling up metal washtubs with ice...in our wedding outfits!) Nothing the lady did was really "bad" per se, just a bit unprofessional. The day was wonderful, and it wouldn't have been that way without Eventful. The place is moderately-priced, too, for the amount of space that you get, so it's definitely a place I would recommend!

I think Eventful is the best indoor/outdoor ceremony/reception hall in the KC Metro. As a DJ who sees a whole lot of venues, I highly recommend!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Eventful at Locust Grove. What I appreciated most was the variety of options available to make each wedding unique from the next. The property was beautiful with a large perennial garden for the guests to walk through. The ceremony site had a handful options such as a stage-like patio or an ornate arbor. The reception site was very tastefully put together with unique pieces. I felt good knowing that this space could be a viable backup plan in the event of rain for the ceremony. I have some of the most beautiful photographs from Eventful. There is a large field that made for great photos and a huge tree near the reception site. The owners at Eventful have worked in the design business, so they have great taste, and are committed to making every event that happens there beautiful. I was very affordable, and they had thought through every last detail. They allow outside catering done by licensed caterers and let us be there as early as we could the morning of to start getting set up. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking to get married in the KC metro. We are from Eastern Jackson County, but we found that guests were more than excited to go to Weston, and many of them took advantage of staying the local Bed and Breakfasts and visited O'Malley's the night before.
