Great new place in the old downtown Mission area. A friend recommended their churros for an afternoon treat, and they did not disappoint! They're crispy & crunchy on the outside, full of delicious filling on the inside- has a slight apple flavor to them. They're served warm, rolled in sugar and glazed with caramel. Lord have mercy! I will definitely be back to try other menu items. Their breakfast burritos look amazing and there was another customer in when I was and he said their tacos are to die for.

Estrella Azul recently added a restaurant to their existing (and still ongoing) food truck business. The restaurant offers Mexican cuisine, daily lunch specials (posted on social media), and a small patio out front. My dine-in restaurant lunch experience was very good. The two tacos (marinated chicken or ground beef) with refried beans and Mexican rice lunch special ($6.99) was nicely priced, and was brought to my table just five minutes after I ordered at the counter. The tacos had good amounts of tasty meat with fresh veggies, while the refried beans were thick and tasty, and the rice was fairly tasty. The chicken was especially moist and tasty. One mild-medium salsa was available, and it was fine.I found the service at the counter to be cheerful, friendly, and helpful, while the dining area was basic with no background music.Overall, very nice for the price.

Estrella Azul has the best customer service. We invited them out to our neighborhood for a good event and the service was excellent. The food was made hot, fresh and in record time without compromising the quality and taste. The tacos and churros were such a hit that we had to go back to the truck to order a round of seconds for the family. It's rare to find a place that everyone enjoys and can agree on but Estrella Azul is it! They have opened a restaurant off Mission in KS and it offers more of their delicious food with the same quality and service. Definitely check them out. You will be crazing more.

Just a heads up their menu does not tell you that the tostada comes with sour cream. I've been seriously limiting my dairy intake bc I recently found out I'm mildly allergic, luckily I was able to scrape off most of it so I should be ok. The chicken was juicy and well flavored. Overall good, I would come back if I was in the area, and just remember to ask for no sour cream next time. Lol

Always happy to see new places popping up Johnson Drive in Mission! When I heard about this place, I knew I had to stop in immediately!I think they still have some work to do on the inside, and maybe COVID has something to do with how open/vast it feels in there, but it definitely doesn't feel cozy. Not that it's supposed to, I was just expecting something a little different! The staff are SO nice. They bantered with us and had lots of menu recommendations. I got the shrimp burrito and it was MASSIVE. Seriously it was bigger than my head. It was a total and complete mess to eat, so I would advise you not try and cut it in half. I took some home and it was still good leftover. Definitely go support this local spot. The food is definitely authentic and the location is lovely, in my opinion!

This was my first visit to this new restaurant. I believe they also have (or had) a food truck business. The menu is very limited and would be what I consider "fast food" type of items. Tacos, quesadillas, burritos and bowls. It'd be nice to have just a little more selection. All food is being cooked/grilled fresh. I had the Carne Asada tacos. They were very good and plenty of filling. The steak was well seasoned. A serving of 3 was just right. The staff is friendly. The cook was out actually visiting with patrons to see how the food was. I may not be a regular but will definitely return.

Cozy new spot in Mission that a friend raved about. A food truck turned restaurant is always a good sign, in my opinion. Went in craving street tacos and ordered two Pastor and one Asada. Excellent traditional street tacos and our son loved the kids shredded chicken. Wasn't able to capture a photo before my husband devoured the Asada fries, which definitely looks like the most different and delicious option on the menu. Will definitely be back to try the burrito that they are famous for.

MINIMUM DO YOU GUYS PROVIDE THE MINIMUM IF IS NOT REACHING OUT(Me) - Yes, if you provide me an invoice, our property manager will pay it. You will be our 3rd truck this summer and we have reached over $1000 with the previous two.It helps when I can provide a menu with my reminders to get the people outIt will be cooler on Wednesday (high of 89). We have not done a taco truck yet this year, but we will cover any minimum not met.(Estrella) 11:14 - Hi Hayley Please send me an email at [email protected]'s going to be responsible for our minimum if we don't make it. We just don't want to go there if going to be hot temperatures(Email)On Mon, Jun 24, 2024, 11:20AM Hayley wrote:Hi!This is Hayley Turpen. It is anyway we re-schedule for another day. I'm really apologize again When you look at their FB page post from Sunday (the day before I reached out), their schedule for the week had Wed as TBA (nothing about To Go boxes at the restaurant and nothing about a private event)And a few hours after cancelling, they posted their schedule with To Go boxes for Wed. Even though they posted in the spring that it is food truck season and restaurant may be closed. Which is what should have happened when his wife became ill. Keep the commitment you made and close the restaurant.I have sent an alternative date in August and have not heard back. I think it is obvious that they did not want this job. Which is fine, I get that you may not make enough to make it worth your while. But either make your minimums higher to make it worth it or don't book neighborhood events. This is not an honest business, and I would HIGHLY recommend rethinking any bookings. Also, check out their other 1-star review (cancelled bookings).
