I took my seven year old in to buy his first real skateboard yesterday. The owner was very attentive, helpful and polite. He took the time to visit with us and help my son with his board and helmet. Certainly worth the drive across the city to visit this shop!

I got kind of excited when I saw the sign "Escapist" on the side of the door at the shop next to Small Cakes. Their sign said, "Hoodies, 20% off." I'm familiar with Escapist (it used to be over on Barry Road). It's a local; shop, and they have their own skateboards, and clothing, besides carrying the usual brands.Walked in, and there's a few wracks of clothes, not much. Maybe 20 hoodies, and none of which I was looking for. Jeans, and a wrack of t-shirts.They do carry a near full line of skateboards. Skateboard, and supplies are kind of becoming part of the general public, but people should be mindful of their equipment. They should be mindful of the wood that is the deck, the grip tape. The wood is generally maple. Stores like this sell the real thing. Stores like this can keep This location has a good stock of them, and many shoes. (mostly Vans). Vans are fine, but don't grip the grip tape as well as DC's or Etinnes. This is a generally uncolorful store, nothing too interesting. That's unfortunate. I hope they can manage to stay afloat in Summit Fair. Maybe if they can, they can improve the shop to make it a bit more lively.

Walked in and was immediately helped. Staff was nice and knowledgeable. Good selection of decks and other equipment. It is a smaller store so they do lack some apparel options that larger stores would have, but it still has a good selection. Would definitely recommend.

We visited this shop this evening looking to buy a new deck for my nephew. They had a great selection of decks, wheels, trucks and more. The best thing about this shop was the staff and their willingness to explain the different products and best uses for each.I personally do not know much about skateboarding but the staff was incredibly helpful to explain the different board lengths and recommend the best option for my nephew based on his current board and the type of tricks he was doing most. Also, when it was time to choose wheels, they explained the different types as well as a new product that had come on the market and its benefits on what types of surfaces.I will highly recommend this shop to anyone, especially those who are eager to learn and get better with their skating abilities.

Stopped by because I was thinking about getting back into skating after many many years. Nick was extremely helpful and was willing to take a good chunk of time to answer my thousands of questions. It's a small store with a more relaxed tone which I really enjoyed. Definitely will return for all my skating needs.
