Great place to take a walk, I suppose play disc golf. Love the well maintained paths and the views.Always seems to be some sort of activity going on.I just wish there was a bit more parking available on the days there is a Farmers Market and that the little downtown had more options for brunch . . sad that currently 2 of their venues are closed.

I have absolutely fallen in love with this park. I am such a big fan of parks/trails. I need to jog every day, so I am always checking out where to go to do my daily exercise. There is nothing better than running next to the water (at least for me). Jogging next to the Missouri River is quite awesome! This park has everything: plenty of parking, scenic walking trails, playgrounds, boat ramp, volleyball court, etc. You get the picture... I am a fan! 5 stars.

Great walk with a great view of the river! Wonderful breeze always coming off the water. And a great place to set up some hammocks in the summer along the river in the sun!

A nice park in the northland. Very spacious and plenty of pathways to walk, bike or run. Great view of the river as well and there's plenty of benches all around if you want to sit and enjoy the view. The park also has frisbee golf but you'll have to bring your own frisbee to play. Been here a couple times now and will visit again in the future.

I'm back over North now and hands down the best part of living in Parkville, is this park! I've been bringing all my babies here since they were able to toddle. Celebrated a many of Fourth of Julys along the River. Pounded the miles out along the trails. Played at the dog park with my doggies. I love being by the water and playing outside. This park gives you both of those. Bonus is the well planned out picnic spots and giant shade trees.

I love this park, and I live 30 minutes away. It's worth the drive to come here. It has a great walking trail along the river. you get some beautiful views while on a walk. There is plenty of parking. There is also plenty of areas to play or just sit and enjoy the day. the only downfall are the train tracks that run parallel to the park. these tracks are used frequently. if you can adapt to the noise of the trains going by then you will enjoy this park.

This park is a great spot for an autumn date. It has well-kept paths which are perfect for a romantic stroll, and it has several spots that would be suitable for a picnic. It is right by the river, so it can get a little breezy and cool. I recently brought a date here, and it was a delightful experience overall. Although heavily influenced by my particular experience, here are some recommendations that I hope may be helpful to anyone considering visiting English Landing Park for a romantic outing. First, make sure your date is the most clever, intriguing, funny, and magnetic person you can ever recall meeting. This is key. This will imbue the date with the kind of excitement that will make a memorable experience and distract you from any intemperate weather you may encounter. Also, although you forget to breathe sometimes when she smiles at you, it turns out that continuing to breathe is important when the date involves walking the plentiful paths and trails in the Park. It's only the third date, and resuscitation is more of a fifth or sixth date thing. The surroundings you will find in the park are beautiful, but don't let them distract you from some of the important signs that may manifest, heeding which will make your visit to English Landing Park much more rewarding. If, as she walks, she doesn't swing the hand nearest you, but instead keeps it relatively stationary by her side, consider the possibility that she wants you to hold her hand. Consider how you haven't held hands with someone in a heartfelt, exhilarating way in decades and how you suddenly find yourself - an accomplished, successful middle-aged man - incredibly nervous about reaching for her hand but strongly desiring to do so. Go ahead and do it. The Park wills it.As you pass by one of the many shelters along the path, allow that to remind you of when she said that you make her feel safe. You may experience some mild panic when you realize how good that made you feel, and ever since she said it, how important it is to you to protect her from every imaginable harm. Permit the panic to bloom and then wilt. Let yourself enjoy feeling needed by someone whom you think you might need as well.If you need a break from the stroll, the Park is equipped with numerous benches that are good for a brief rest. Chilled by the breeze from the river, take this opportunity to snuggle and enjoy having her head on your shoulder and being close enough to take some deep, slow breaths haunted by her perfume. When she lifts her head and looks at you, consider whether this is the time to kiss her and then conclude that it most definitely is. Ask for her permission, and allow sincere joy and excitement take root when she says yes. Don't be alarmed if this is the best kiss you can remember, and don't be put off by the presence of any nearby Park patrons - they totally get it. In fact, if one offers you a high-five inspired by your skillful and passionate smooching, don't leave them hanging. That would be rude, and English Landing Park is no place for rudeness. If your stroll continues past sundown, worry not. The paths are largely well-lit, and the Park stays open much later than others, so you can feel free to take your time. Be sure to ask big questions and give big answers, making sure to strike the right balance between (1) sober, rational concern for your feelings and hers, and (2) your inchoate imaginings of being together a decade from now, somehow no less enraptured by each other because of the continual discoveries of the many things that are great within her and within you.Parking is plentiful and convenient, and there are several restaurants nearby.

A thoroughly beautiful park, make no doubt about it. I can't think of a more enjoyable spot to sit and look at the river on a warm day. There is a fair amount of shade offered by the large trees, and benches where you can sit and dream or sit and write/draw, or sit and share a romantic early evening with a date. That said, my experience with the park policies left a lot to be desired. Perhaps it was more the local police department than anything, but if this park agrees to host a festival like Bliss Fest, I don't see why they are so difficult with letting people unload/load their cars. Don't even get me started on the available parking, *forget it.* Were we expected to park 1/2 mile away and then make multiple trips back and forth to our vehicles to unload our stuff? Maybe I'm just cranky (it was in the 90s yesterday and humid as hell), but I think that's totally ridiculous. I've never been so frustrated that I created my own (probably not legal) parking spot before, but I was at my wit's end at a certain point. If I were a local, I'd probably never choose to park at events held in English Landing and walk there instead. Also of note: no park bathrooms. Even South Park in Lawrence has public (clean) bathrooms and it's a smaller park.

This is a good leash-free dog park where the dogs are divided into the two parks by size. We love taking our dog here, there is plenty of room, and lots fun pets and people (mostly) to play with. There is a water spigot--which is great, but it would be even better if there was another one at the other end of the park. There are plenty of trees that provide lots of welcome shade. There are a couple of benches and there is a great shelter structure if it gets too hot, or starts to rain. Most dog owners pick up after their dog, then of course there are a certain few that think the rules don't apply to them and then take umbridge if you remind them of their basic civic responsibilities. One thing I would remind parents, or guardians that bringing small children to the park is not advised and not a good idea, especially toddlers. If you let them run around in the large dog park don't be surprised if the dogs will chase after your little issue. Dogs, especially puppies, are triggered by instinct and running and will likely case a 100lb dog to chase a child, so do as the park rules state--there used to be a sign -- and leave junior at home with an aunty, or take him to the playground where the dogs are always on leash. There are also some rather large, deep holes--where dogs have started digging--and these should be filled in by the county before a running dog or a person breaks a leg.
