Emily Kate's Bakery

I placed a personal order for their GF/VG cinnamon rolls last year. The rolls took about 4 days to be ready. Went and picked them up at their location. Everything seemed to go as smoothly as they can make it, they did their best to provide quick and easy service! YetThe rolls (along with the price $30ish for 6?) were pretty dissatisfying. I will not be a returning customer. I was recommended them and was hoping with how much they are and how much I hear about them that they would pull through. I'm sure a lot of people enjoy them and find them great, I just was pretty upset. I baked them up and threw away most of them.

I searched online to find a gf and v bakery in Kansas City. After reading reviews I felt like I hit the jackpot and guess what... I DID! We celebrated my Dads birthday and devoured the most flavorful carrot cake! My family who is not gf and v thought it was amazing! Anytime I need a special cake I will call Jay at Emily Kate's Bakery!

Best. Bakery. Ever. Tastes just like gluten! I've had a couple of custom cakes and cupcakes from Emily Kate's, and more cookies than I'm comfortable admitting to. Everything is delicious. The best part is my gluten-intolerant son can share them all with me! The people in the bakery are AWESOME. Nothing but positive vibes.

Our family placed our first order with the company. Two cakes both 9 inch both gluten and dairy free. One was a wedding cake = pretty important cake. Many emails back and forth and somehow they were confused on the dairy free. Show up three months in preparations and they said sorry we made one of the cakes too small. The wedding cake of all of them. they said sorry we can make another one for you. Family told them they didnt have time nor did the company to make one. Why didnt they just go ahead and do it. ???They were said isnt it nice . Family said ya if it was bigger the 6 inch is like a baby first birthday cake. They argued about the refund only offered a store credit. Family told them they wouldnt be back.So members of the family that were allergic to milk ate the cakes and both got violently ill. They must have messed up the one in question because email prove they were confused on one of the cakes being dairy free. We have no proof they got it wrong they deny it but the evidence is in our favor 2 people sick and they didnt eat anything else dairy and confusion on their emails and admission of confusion on their part. So they get the wrong size and most likely fed people dairy products and got them sick.Hope the refund shows up.... the cakes looked nice , hand writing and presentation of that was not great the carrot cake was like eating a bag of sliced slivered carrots never seen so many carrots in a cake and large long pieces of carrots in a cake let alone a salad. it was like carrot with some cake. Everyone comments on that cake for the worse. the oreo cake had a great flavor and was well done and was a hit but again most likely had milk in it.

Emily Kate's bakery is a godsent. I have celiac so I haven't had a birthday cake in years. I finally got to celebrate with a gluten free Oreo cake this year. This cake did not taste gluten free! I devoured it and didn't share a crumb. I will be trying all the other pastry's they offer.

Everything I've tried from Emily Kate's is amazing!! (And I'm picky when it comes to gluten free pastries) A few of my favorite items I highly recommend: plain cheesecake, chocolate donuts, and cinnamon rolls. Love this place so much!!

They don't care about attention to detail or making their customers happy. When you pay over $40 for a dozen cookies you should get what you ask for, not the wish version.
