I used this place when my son was young and loved it. As a matter of fact I used to recommend them to anyone who asked about swim lessons. Energetic, great staff. At that time there was a different owner. Now I am back, with my daughter, due to the wonderful experience with my son, and I have a different taste in my mouth. I'm unimpressed. The swim leader is there with no greeting.:/ The pool area appears messy and unused. The staff never greets my daughter with a "hello" or "goodbye see you next week" or no one ever says "hey she's doing great or hey we are working on this". These are things that happened in the 2 years my son was here. I didn't like how the teachers changed 4x in the 8 weeks. At the end of the sessions the children have an option of going down the slide & twice my daughter was ripped off. I asked the swim teacher "weren't the kids suppose to go down the slide?" She replies unpleasantly "oh yea I forgot" :(

My daughter started swimming lessons there in June 2013. She had one class prior to coming to Elite, and it was through the Lee's Summit Parks & Rec when she was only 3yo. She's 6yo now, and she started in the Bubble Blowers+ class at Elite. After a month, she moved up to the next level and is rapidly becoming a very strong and safe swimmer. Their classes are small. The teacher/student ratio is 1:4. The swimming program is ten times better than the Lee's Summit Parks & Rec program, and I have talked to other parents who have also had children in other swimming programs who have stated that Elite is probably the best swimming lesson program in the KC area. I have been impressed with the instructors. They make the children listen, and I actually appreciate it when they stop my daughter mid-stroke to correct her form. They also don't let the kids make excuses, and they are constantly working on technique. I would give this facility five stars if it was in better condition. The facility is old. The pool area is old, but nice because it's covered and heated so swimming lessons can be given year-round. There is a parent watch area that is upstairs. One side is for swimming and the other side is for gymnastics. It's nice enough for a parent watch area, and seems to be comparable to other gymnastic centers that I've been in. They gymnastics area is huge and has a lot of equipment, but again, the facility is old. My daughter will be starting gymnastics there in August. She went to a Parents Night Out there and loved it and has decided that she wants to give gymnastics a try, too. There are about eight balance beams, four sets of uneven bars, a large floor area, a vault, a trampoline, foam pits, and all the other necessities needed for gymnastics. The gym smells old, musty, and sweaty. However, if the gymnastic instructors are as good as the swim instructors, I won't have any worries starting my daughter in their gymnastics program, as well. Overall, I think it's a great facility. Great instructors. Friendly staff. It just needs to be updated.

This is the best gym in town, the kids are in great hands. Phenomenal coaches, wouldn't go anywhere else.

Elite Gymnastics has been awesome to my daughter. Their coaches are exceptional, the overall vibe is great and we have had nothing but good experiences. I definitely recommend them for new or existing gymnasts. This is a very family-oriented gym and the coaches focus on safety and the future goals of the gymnast.

We love the swimming classes. Yes, the facility is a bit rundown, but the prices are really great and the kids don't care if the place doesn't look new. My kids are amazing swimmers because of Elite.

We attended for around 3 months. I am shocked by how filthy and run down this facility it. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned or updated since it opened in 1973. The viewing area is a joke, it's completely blocked by huge heaters so I couldn't even see my kids while they are swimming. The viewing area is like a steam room, absolutely miserable and uncomfortable. The bathroom areas have exposed wiring, stained ceiling tiles and exposed pipes. The toilets are so terrible they run slow and clog when using them. Everything about this place screams run down. It's very sad because my girls actually enjoyed their time here but this place appears very unsafe.

My 7-year-old boys took just one two-week intensive swim session this summer, and the improvements they made were remarkable. They began with few real swimming skills and not a lot of confidence, and they left doing several strokes (pretty well!) and going under for dive rings, etc. Best of all, the now enjoy the water! Brady and his staff are all great. They were very patient with the boys, but they were firm while encouraging, too. The small class size is a huge plus, especially with kids who need the support and encouragement. The confidence and skills my boys learned this summer were worth every penny paid.

My six year old son hada very bad experience with them. The "teacher" yelled at him multiple time when he would not jump into the pool (an exercise they do at the end of the class - all other students, who had been taking classes for a while, were jumping without problems). My son kept saying he was afraid and scared. When the teacher realized she was not going to be successful in getting him to jump (because he was scared to death), she yelled at him "go to the showers! You are kicked out of this class". My son never wants to go back there and may never want to take swimming classes again. My advice: don't come close to this place.
