El Plato Mexican Grill & Cantina

Staci was our AMAZING server. You should ask for her when you visit here. She was a light and a joy to interact with. The ambiance here was fun. It was our first time at El Plato. The chips and salsa were great! They had hot sauce that we asked for and it was super spicy and lovely. We also ordered cheese dip (queso) that was magical!The house margaritas are like fish bowls. Huge!! Delicious!! Don't have more than one of you're driving. We had the Combo A with a chicken flauta, chicken tostada, beef enchilada, beef taco and pork tamale. We also ordered a cheese enchilada. All were amazing!! My wife and I shared it. So delighted and delicious. Our dining companions are vegetarians and they had a veggie burrito and cheese enchiladas. They loved them. We can't wait to return.

Another local gem in Lees Summit. Many friends have told us about El Plato and we finally made the time to go. The drinks are great, service was quick, the chips and salsa are so good. We ordered the grilled chicken plate (with cheese) and probably one of the best we have had in LS. I could eat that all day. I want to come back and try their guac. So many tables were ordering it. The restaurant was also very clean.

I stop in here for lunch on Saturday. It is a small place but it was halfway full. I was greeted and seated immediately. The food prices are reasonable. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips. This place had non greasy, very crispy chips. The salsa was ok but nothing amazing. I ordered the Combo B which includes chicken enchilada, pork tamale with rice and beans. I also added a hard shell beef taco. Everything was good though the taco was greasy. Also on Tuesday they have taco special. I will be coming back and plan on checking out their street tacos.

Started with a Modelo and delicious berry mixy! Chips and salsa delish (ask for the special hot sauce if you like spicy.) The street pastor tacos were good but a little on the salty side. The nachos supreme we asked for fajita style but carne asada was the closest next. Queso was the highlight of that dish. Service was very quick and friendly. Definitely can tell with pricing it was for the downtown location (approx $3-4 more than other Mexican restaurants in the area.) Plenty of seating!

This was our Cinco de mayo stop, and it was great! The atmosphere was lively and festive, and the food was fantastic.We started with their queso, and it did not disappoint. Creamy, cheesy, and just the right amount of spice. And then came the carnitas tacos - they were simply amazing. Tender and juicy, with a perfect balance of flavors.The staff was incredibly accommodating and gave us a discount when they were out of the fried ice cream. And don't even get me started on the churros - they were light and fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness.Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the margaritas. They were good and definitely hit the spot.Overall, the food was great and the service was stellar. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, can't wait to be back!

Great Mexican food. The Platos Combo A was really good and you get a lot of food for the price.

First visit was favorable. We liked everything we ordered and our server was attentive. We will be back.

My new favorite Mex food. Everything was delicious-- margarita, chips, salsa, guacamole! and beef chimichanga. Great service too.

Nice little spot. Had fast friendly service. Sat at the bar. Beer,chips, guacamole and a nice portion of shrimp cocktail. It was very good. Probably 12 13 big shrimp. Just the right heat. Recommended.
