El Jimador

We were in town for only Rome night and need something decent and reasonably priced. Thiago turned t be a great choice. Service and food was very good. The only thing I thought could have been better was the chili relanos as it was thin and mushy. Otherwise everything was great

We were seated and served promptly for lunch on a Friday. The servers were attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Chips taste a little "from a big" but the queso and guac were yummy. Overall, pretty standard fare. You'll get what you expect.

I ordered from El Jimador for catering a baby shower. The food was amazing. We ordered chicken and beef, rice and beans, and chips and salsa. Plenty of foil wrapped tortillas were provided, along with a generous amount of wonderfully warm tortilla chips. Everyone was over the moon for the food and several people took leftovers home because even 50 people couldn't eat it all. El Jimador is one of our favorite places in Columbia. The food is authentic, the drinks (yummy margaritas) are excellent, and the service is outstanding. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Got a taco and enchilada combo. Being from Southern California we are a bit spoiled. Knowing this my expectations were not high to begin with. The taco shell was not fresh. The choices are ground beef or chicken. The ground beef was cold and still pink. The cheese enchilada was good. Sauce was fine nothing special. The beans were hot and the rice was so so. I'm use to sub par food since I travel a lot for work across the country. This was one of the worst. I've had better gas station Mexican food.

I've had better Mexican food in other places but this is what the town my family was passing through found, so we gave it a try.Nothing too special about it.. We ate here while in town visiting some friends. It was good, not amazing, but your typical Americanized Mexican place.We had the chorizo cheese dip for an appetizer, very tasty, very greasy. Their salsa was also pretty good.We had a couple different things on the table for dinner - quesadillas, burritos, rice and beans. Basically, pretty bland food. We all would have definitely preferred some more seasoning or flavor, there just wasn't anything special about it.Maybe I'm spoiled being in a bigger city, but we probably won't be eating here again.

The food is amazing!!!!! We were the only ones in the restaurant so we got amazing service. I got 2 steak tacos with avocado sauce and it was absolutely amazing. I recommend this place if you want actual good quality food.

Ok, I will admit I am picky when it comes to authentic Mexican food but this place was truly sub par. We had a new server (as in it was her 2nd day), which being a server myself, was excited to be there for her! However, she was verrrrrrry slow at getting our orders, and still got almost all of mine incorrect. My husband and I first ordered a 32oz strawberry margarita to split, and she came back waaay later with not one, but 2! So in obvious confusion we told her we were splitting just 1 and instead of taking it back, or comping it, she just left it at the table, for which we had to pay for...Then I ordered a Mexicana quesadilla, shrimp (which was an added charge), with guac on the side given my allergy. She brought out a chicken quesadilla with the guac still on the plate. We then asked for the guac on the side, so she brings out an additional side of guac (for which we had to pay an additional $4 for). We ended up leaving with a $50 bill which was outrageously priced for the sad service and average tasting food.

Took a long time to get seated, they appeared short staffed. Very short staffed, or just unorganized. Then a long time before someone came with chips & salsa. I tried to order then, but they told me someone else is coming to take my order. They didn't. Watched guests that came in after me get served. Salsa tasted like marinara sauce (not an exaggeration). Eventually I just got up and left. I said "Great service," to the lady sitting at the front desk on my way out. She thanked me, and didn't register the sarcasm. Or maybe she did and didn't care. Either way I will not be back. Regardless of who dropped the ball, any place that serves spaghetti sauce as their house salsa doesn't deserve the business.

There is nothing better to eat there then the Pollo Bandito! My husband and I have been eating it for years and it's excellent every time. Try it!
