We ate for a late lunchh on a Monday. Not busy at all. Very big menu with lots of good choices. I had the fajita tacos and hubby had the street tacos. Portions were very generous. Food was really good also. Our server was friendly and attentive. We didn't need to ask for refills, and checked in without disrupting. Restaurant was clean, and had great decor.

I love the El Canelo NKC location. It was easy to get both a parking space and a table in this vibrantly decorated restaurant. The menu was massive, so really I need to go back a few times to accurately assess the food. But on my first visit I had the chicken fajitas which were very onion heavy. I happen to like that and thought the dish was very flavorful. I've had better salsa, but mixing the hot and mild helped quite a bit. The service was friendly and attentive. I will be back.

The food was good and the restaurant was stunning and full of vibrant colors! But we had some issues with the drink orders. Instead of serving us from a fountain, they brought cans of soda and bottled water. When I asked for a cup of ice, they told me they didn't have any available. The menu mentioned free refills, so when I requested another Coke, I was surprised to learn it would cost $2.50, and the bottled water was priced at 99 cents each. It would have been helpful to know this before we were seated.

Grabbed dinner at El Canelo with a group of friends from school. They had a table prepared for us, which was great! We sat down to delicious salsa and chips. I ordered a margarita and felt like it was overly sweet. The menu is GIGANTIC and overwhelming to me. As I generally like all Mexican food, we asked the server for a recommendation and ended up with the Alambres. They were fine - I felt like the meat was over cooked, but the shrimp was good!

First time here and this is the best Mexican Restaurant north of the river. Food is excellent and the prices are incredibly low considering everything is going up in price. The Fajita Burrito was one of the best I have ever had.Definitely check it out!

Best Mexican food we've ever had!! Stopped at this place and as soon as we got out of the truck it smelled amazing. The salsa has an interesting taste. Not my favorite salsa. I've traveled all over and this is the best food for an amazing price!

First time here. Nothing special about the space. Very generic Mexican restaurant. Service was adequate but not very attentive. The food was mediocre. Not bad but definitely not good. Overall 3 stars for all that. They charge extra for a side of hot sauce. They don't tell you that they charge extra. It was the worst hot sauce of I've had in a long time. Tasted putrid. They also charge a service fee that I am assuming is because we paid with a credit card. They don't tell you this.

Food was good and came out fast (and correct) which was impressive because the place was moderately busy and the menu is extensive.Lots of margaritas to choose from and they all seemed well made.Service was friendly and fast.Price was great - a really good value.

A hidden gem!The food is always delicious and delivered fast. I usually make modifications to my usual dish and they've never mess it up, both eating in and take out. Margaritas are just okay, but hit the spot. I love being able to get margaritas to go post-Covid.
