Dubs Dread is probably the best of Kansas City's older courses, and I love older courses. Also , it will test your golf skills. From the beautiful clubhouse to the well stocked pro shop, this place is first class all the way. We stopped to get a cart and the young lady was very helpful and got us going right away. Also, nice new golf carts vs. some places that have a plaque that says " Jack Nicklaus rode in this as a teenager." The course is beautiful laid out, well manicured , and plenty of old growth trees to add a degree of difficulty to the game, but challenges hone your skills.Afterward, we went back to the clubhouse where we enjoyed some food and adult beverages, enhanced by the magnificent view of the course while out on the deck. All in all, you can't go wrong with this place.

Great staff operating a nice, historic course that is always in good to great shape. Make sure to browse the course history provided by pictures in the clubhouse.

This is a tough one. I've played all over the world. The initial experience was awesome. Friendly pro shop and bar staff. Great course layout for a fair price. Then the pace of play started. It took our twosome 2:15 hrs to play 6 holes. That's easily a 6 hour round. We skipped a hole in order to keep everyone's pace of play in check and we were kicked off the course for doing so. Unfortunately this course perpetuates old white male privilege. The reaction of the staff to skipping a hole (to which we inconvenienced no one) was irrational at best. Should you play here? Your call. Just check your old white male privilege at the door.

Very busy the day I went but the pace still wasn't too bad. Hilly course with not a whole lot of trouble. Bunkers don't come into play but the wind can definitely change the course. Some really tough holes mad worse by extreme winds. Overall I like the course will come back later in the season.

Most expensive junior golf rate we have encountered in KC; they don't participate in Youth On Course Program. We are golfing a foursome on a Friday mid morning; senior league is hitting into us behind on every hole. Grounds crew is literally mowing around our green on 9 WHILE we are putting, as well as mowing fairways on other greens while we are teeing off. No beverage cart service came through.

For my 100th review I decided to review Dub's Dread Golf Course. This golf course is probably one of the most challenging courses around. The fairways are lined with trees and lot's of natural grass, so if you get off of the fairway you will be in trouble on most holes. This used to be the longest golf course in the area, but now the back tee's play 7100 yards. If you are a novice, this course will easily take you about 5+ hours and 2 dozen balls. Otherwise, you can get through it in about 4 1/2 hours. The #1 hole is a par 5, 515 yards (black tees) and has a serious dog leg right. This would be a slicers heaven, but you cannot afford to leak right as there are trees that will block your shot to the hole to be on in two. Your best bet, is to go for a 300 yard drive down the middle. The fairway starts to roll down hill and to the right so chances are your ball will start to fade to the right anyway. The green is on a slight up hill and is well guarded with sandtraps to the right and left of the green. That's just the first hole. The rates aren't bad, I don't get to come out as much because there are about 10 courses between me and them and chances are I go to where it's closer. However, I have never had a bad experience here. You can play a round with cart/green fee for $45 from dawn to 10:59, $39 11-2, $33 from 2-5, $27 after 5pm. Weekend will cost you around $55.Personally, the other courses in town are less expensive and just as fun. The best thing to do is go to teequest and book a tee time. You will save a lot more money doing it that way!

One of my go to golf courses in KC. This course is long and plays challenging but a very good golf course to score on as well. From my personal experiences the greens play fairly fast but are true and do what you expect them to do. I have not had a bad round out there yet. One of my favorite times to go is in the evening after work, because the staff lets your play till dark and does not rush you off the course.

Staff at the bar is super friendly. The course itself is a tough. I am a female, but played with the boys last weekend on their tees. It's a LONG course for me, definitely a challenge. Well maintained. It played slow but it was a packed house. Little expensive - $65 after fees for a cart and 18.

Played this course in early March so winter conditions definitely affected this review. Might've been higher review if played in summer. Course was overall in decent shape. Longer holes which was nice, good yardage. The course is challenging and requires a smart play at times rather than just trying to bomb driver down the middle. However all the par 3s were close to 120 yards with a mat being placed around the senior tees (I'm assuming to keep divots off the tee boxes). I was not fond of any of the par 3s due to this. Greens were very fast and not in the best shape (again probably due to winter conditions). Pro shop and range were very accommodating as were the carts (have JBL Bluetooth speakers). I will definitely be back to this course to see how it plays in the more warm months.

Great time. Played in tournament and it was well ran. The food and drink cart was by often. We started at 10am and played on time. After it was over we are and had a few drinks. The carts have blue tooth and USB plug in which was perfect for me as I did not plug my phone in last night. When you get there check in they will treat you great and have allot to offer for clubs etc.
