Virtual reality, scrumptious wings, stacked burgers, amazing cocktails, & arcade games are just some of the items that can be found at Double Tap in KC. This is a great spot to go with a group of friends or on a date. We had an absolute blast slaying zombies with the virtual gaming gear on! I would recommend ordering the cheeseburger egg rolls, the cheese curds, the jalapeno macaroni & cheese bites, the lemon pepper wings, the BYOBurger & more! Don't forget to try your states' drink! The service was excellent. Our server was super attentive and helpful, as were any other passing employees. It was super loud inside because of the televisions, which made it difficult to hear the trivia host (the event we were there for). That was a bit frustrating. The food was pretty average for a bar. The chicken strips are okay and the mozzarella sticks were nice and hot, but lacked flavoring in the breading. I had to take off a couple of stars for this incredibly persistent, loud high-pitched noise that kept going the entire time we were there. I could hear it from yards away outside and anywhere inside as well. Maybe it's the speakers? Whatever it was, it gave me a headache.

A fun place that hosts a game night on Tuesdays. They also have tacos on Tuesdays - several filling options for a low price. They are double-decker, but I can't have the flour tortillas, so I kind of miss out on the true fun of it. But they are still tasty and a good deal for the money. I got a house margarita, which was quite good and not a light pour for a happy hour price. Pleasant (if far from doting) service. I'll definitely return.

Our family ended up trying out this venue on a whim. We are so pleased that we did! The owner or maybe the manager was very nice and welcoming, as well as everyone that worked there. There was eight of us in our family with a baby and two children, and we rented a room in the back to do the VR gaming. That was a lot of fun for everyone that tried it, and the hostess, who helped with the experience was very nice as well. When we were finished, we moved into the main seating area into a nice booth and enjoyed some cocktails and food. The atmosphere was very casual and our granddaughters. Also enjoyed playing some of the old school arcade games. We will definitely be back with more family members next time!

This was my first VR gaming experience outside of a home set and WOW! It was a blast! The bar is stocked well, as are the VR gaming options. We were thrilled with the games available and the attention paid to us by our lovely host. There were just two of us playing and we found an hour of play time to be perfect but we would have preferred more time if we had more people with us. We will definitely be back to Double Tap. We just loved our experience!

I recently got to experience the Virtual Reality games at Doubletap KC, and there is such a wide variety that it can be difficult to know where to start. Luckily, the staff at Doubletap are there to help. They will ask you what kind of games you're interested in and direct you to some options to get the fun started quickly. And something great about the experience is that if you end up not enjoying the game, you can immediately choose to jump into a different one. While they don't have free roam VR rooms yet, I'm told there are plans to incorporate them eventually. But although that means you have to stand in one spot during the entire game, the gameplay mechanics of the games I tried built in a way for you to move around the virtual world even though you are stationary in the real.The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful during our experience. And while I can't speak for the food available at Doubletap since we only came in to play games, I can say that the place looked great, the food smelled good, and I'm sure I'll be visiting again soon.The only reason this isn't a five-star review is that I prefer a free-roam VR gameplay, so I look forward to trying that out when they add it.You can see more of our experience on our YouTube travel channel: https://youtu.be/ewhBgyQE4vU

This place is so much fun!The food is good as well, which is surprising for a bar environment. Get the loaded nachos but with fries instead of chips. You won't be sorry.The staff was helpful, personable, and made my friend's birthday celebration a great one!

There is no debate that this is a bar. Yes, there are a handful of games, but at its core it is a bar. They serve bar food and most of the main floor is taken by the bar. They do have events as well, but they are geared toward adults. When we were there it was for what I thought would be video trivia; however, it was definitely geared toward adults and was not trivia, It was random silly questions and the participants were encouraged to be "funny and creative" with their answers, which resulted in many inappropriate responses. On top of that, someone had a child there. In a bar. Nit that they are responsible for the child since they state "families" can go there in the description, but I would never ever consider bring a child to this establishment. The food was pretty good for bar food, but the service left something to be desired. Before the "trivia" game began, service was not bad; however, once it began, the waitress was more interested in the game and hanging out with the couple who brought their 6 year old in than actually doing her job. I attempted several times to get her attention, then finally had to walk over to the bar myself and ask for my burger (made incorrectly) to get fixed. She did jump up and meet me at the bar when she saw me walk over, not that it helped any since I already made the trip over there. I also had to go to the bar myself to get a drink refill after that. In total I had to go to the bar myself 3 times once the game started because the "waitress" ignored us. I won't be going back. I only gave 3 stars because (once they made it correctly) the burger and fries really were good.

We came to doubletap today and LOVED it. We were made to feel welcome the moment we came in the door. We were also offered to stop early or explore while waiting, we explored and loved the layout of this cute two story venue. We ordered a bomb, cocktail, and pretzel bites and it was all delicious. The bartender was also so nice and attentive. The VR suite was spacious and the video and employee helped us get oriented and comfortable before playing. They also checked on us without being invasive. We felt $60 was a very reasonable price for the experience we got and highly recommend doubletap!

We had the BEST experience bringing our family to a Chiefs watch party at DoubleTap KC! The owner, manager and staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were taken care of - fast & attentive! The place was incredibly clean, the food & drinks were amazing, and the prices are unbeatable! Terry, Bill and their crew were responsive and accommodating to questions we had and specific requests we made. They're SO friendly and so much fun to be around. We will definitely be back!
