Double Shift Brewing

We came on a rainy Saturday afternoon in November. It wasn't busy, but no one was out and about. Of course quick service, the bartender let me try a blonde coffee kolsch, before settling on a tropical IPA. The beer here is great. Never disappoints. Names are very uniquely thought of. I like the nature light with all the windows, makes it more welcoming for being in an industrial/downtown building.

This brewery is extremely friendly, even for Kansas City!Sitting at the bar, talking to the server, you will feel more like you're coworkers and you're having a shift beer. He won't feel like a customer, you will feel like you're part of the crew!The beers on tap are limited, but pretty diverse, there's definitely something for everyone here. Whether you're into dank and juicy double IPAs or crispy lager, they've got you covered!The only negative I can think of is that they are only open on the latter half of the week. I wish I could've visited more, but they were closed!

This is a cool little place, unpretentious, friendly, with great beer, and in a great location. Seems like they're one of the OGs of KC brewpubs. Importantly, their beers are well named. I've always liked that word, tesselation, ever since I heard it in a Josh Ritter song. It's got a linguistic beauty to it comparable to 'cellar door'. And here we have a Tesselation IPA that is aptly titled and delicious. One of many offerings on tap. Like the intriguing Murder Mittens. Overall an excellent stop during your crossroads adventures.

What a great Experience! And what a great downtown brewery! From the moment we walked in we loved the cool laid back vibe, and while I was ordering our drinks the bartender asked if I wanted to play a little blackjack/21. If I won my drink was half off, if he won I would add a $1 to our bill. I won and really loved how personable the employees were. We felt immediately at home. I asked for the bartenders top 4 choices for my tasting and my husband and Son in law enjoyed their Cha Cha mango havenero while my daughter LOVED her watermelon jalapeño tequila drink...it tasted like a watermelon jolly rancher and was AMAZING! I liked the IPAs the best in my tasting. Great place, great service and happy employees! Can't wait to go back!

Going to start with I'm not a huge beer drinker. I want to be but beer normally fills me up. This beer was different. It was light and flavorful. The dill pickle one was my favorite. Got 2 IPA because I love bitter and both were great. Also got the mango/habanero one. More sweet than spicy. Also tried first after the first 3 and thought I didn't like it. Went in again after drinking water and it was great. The first 3 just had so much in your face flavor that it seemed like it was lacking. Wish I was told a good order to drink them in. So next time I would ask.

Came in for a beer tasting and ended up having the best conversation with the bar staff. The beers were good too, but the hospitality was just phenomenal. The new taproom is a really lovely space. KC seems to be an IPA and sours city, but I personally recommend the kolsch and their coffee stouts when they have it available.

Beer was good. Flights were good size and the selection of beer was also good. This is a pretty small brewery that is cozy. Wasn't super unique in any specific way. Has a couple of couches in front of a tv to watch a game and another TV on the other side. The bar tender was good! Wish they had a growler.

We were in the area and had 30 mins to kill so we popped in. I felt like I stepped into someone's basement. It is small and welcoming yet has plenty of tables and space to still be able to enjoy your date or group. They have games available to play while you sip on your drink and they also offered coffee. Great Saturday afternoon spot. I will say we were happy with our choices but beer like wine is just different for all. Grab a flight with a friend, then order a glass of your favorite.

Walked by after lunch and stopped for a cold beer. The place was cute and clean, service was friendly and good. Sampled a few IPA beers before choosing the glass of power moves! Very good very cold! Stop by if you are in KCMO

Came here with a large group, everyone loved the drafts. We only came here for one beer but ended spending a couple of hours. The vibe was great and the service was even better.
