Donna's Drive In

This a little local out of the way diner that we're thankful to have close to home. Burgers and tenderloins are our go to and we love the Suzy Q's. Service is always good and food is served quickly and hot. Prices are reasonable.

Donna's Drive In is legit little diner near Tightwad, MO near Truman Lake. If you are hungry for a tenderloin or cheeseburger this place is the place to cave into your cravings. If you love homemade pies this place is the next best place to Grandma's that you will find.Whether just passing through or long day at the lake or taking that Sunday drive Donna's is the place to stop for a meal. You will leave full and happy!

Yup, best tenderloins, chicken strips were great too. Friendly staff and worth the drive.

Food was great! Carry out only with COVID but food only took about 20 min and we sat at the picnic tables and ate. Worth the wait.

If you ever find yourself in Tightwad, as I did, with a hankering for a hunk a meat...look no further than Donnas' Drive in. There's always a daily special and all the pies are homemade, with adventures in eating like, Gooseberry. If you are hungry, order the tenderloin sandwich, but bring a bun with you cuz you can cut this baby in half and make two good size sandwiches. They are also kind enough to let you order toppings just the way you like, onions,lettuce, tomato,pickles and mayo for me, cuz I'm like that I want it all, and I usually get it. If you can't eat all of that huge sandwich, get it to go, and order dessert anyway. What's the point of being an adult if you can't have dessert, even though you didn't finish everything on your plate. Huge pork tenderloin sandwiches 4.75, The tenderloin (not on a bun)dinner 6.75. Homemade chocolate pie 3.75 Order up and enjoy Midwest portions and prices,you can be a tightwad while in Tightwad.

One server - she did a great job! Food was great! Will go again! Ambiance was nice.

It's good food, simple surroundings, I like eating outside if weather is cooperating!

We've tried this place twice based on the reviews. First time was carry out, second time was eat in. The first time, the food was soggy it had been sitting so long, and I picked it up early. Second time the fries (like the first time) were limp, soggy, & under cooked. Had tenderloin both times and we both felt it was sub standard & small. Asked for pie the second time & was told they didn't have any. This is a late review we are there back in September of 2020.

1st visit for me and my wife. I had the tenderloin sandwich basket & she had chicken finger basket with o-rings. We also got a piece of strawberry pie to split. Total cost $20. I've had giant tenderloin sandwiches from a lot of difference restaurants but can honestly say this is the best one for me. The meat was cooked to perfection and it was freshly made - not frozen. 5 stars. Fries and slaw were good but nothing special 3stars. Chicken fingers were freshly made not frozen so above average 4 stars. All pies are made fresh by the owner - 5 stars. If you find your way by Tightwad, Mo. (Truman Lake) it is in my opinion the best that area has to offer. FYI I visited with the owner about how good it was and I would post on Yelp. She never heard of Yelp so I showed her on my smart phone. She was pleasantly surprised.Update: I understand Donna is ill. Closed all 2017. Pray she's doing better and will be back open in 2018.

We were hungry for a good piece of pie and we found it at Donna's. Hamburger and tenderloin was good too.
