Excellent service and loved the owners pup. He helped me pick out a replacement for my old mask and snorkel set when I was heading to Mexico.

We went to the Dive shop to purchase snorkeling gear. The gentleman there assisted us with fitting our masks. We went of vacation and I quickly realized that my mask was far too big for my face. Upon return to LC we went back to exchange it as the receipt states " No returns after 30 days. " He would not return or give store credit for the mask. I find this to be false advertising as the 30 day return policy was not detailed out and explained. I would not recommend this business.

Fantastic place to knock out you're dive training! Chris was a great instructor and John was a good guy to deal with on dive equipment advice.

My wife's family and I all went through The Dive Shop to get our diver training. This place is great store for BCs, Wet Suits, an other diving equipment. The store is always clean and things are easy to find. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful, this may be because they all love diving. The thing that makes this a great place to learn to dive is that you can take your classes here in their classroom, and then learn your skills in their dive pool. They make a seemingly endless amount of info and skills elementary. One of the perks they used to do was that for divers who went through classes here got to come in on Sundays from 1:00pm-4:00pm and dive in their pool for free( and use all of their equipment). Sadly they no longer do this, due to the high amount of people who took advantage of this. They do however, still let you come in and dive with their equipment for $10 a person. This honestly is a deal, $10 for 3 hours I unlimited tanks and free use equipment. If this were still free this place would be a 5 star hands down.

My husband & I took our open water course here on a weekend & Michael Brock was our instructor. He was very knowledgeable & patient. The course was thorough. We've been diving 4 times since then. We felt like we were very well prepared. The shop has a nice selection of equipment. John runs the shop & He's The Man! He knows everything about everything. He's a great resource. We're getting ready to go on the shop's Bonaire trip. Can't Wait!!!

I took the weekend (Friday-Sunday) open water course and open water checkout with the Dive Shop. Everyone who worked for them was incredibly nice and helpful. Neal taught the weekend course and Alan was my instructor for the open water portion. The instructors just love diving and love being able to share their scuba knowledge and dive stories with the students. I always felt safe with them and would highly, highly recommend taking courses with them. The Dive Shop has a pool (seems to be the only place in the area with their own pool) so the course is straightforward. The weekend course is an intense weekend - Friday 6-9 or so, Saturday 9-5 (with breaks) and Sunday 9-2. But I think it was the best way to do it, as the classes are so close together you don't forget anything. They offer other class options as well. I did the checkout at Beaver Lake in Arkansas which has lots of weird sunken things like a toilet and a VW Bug! The instructors know how to find the cool stuff there. With full gear rental including mask and fins (not including hotel/food at Beaver Lake), the whole class was about $500, which seemed pretty reasonable. If you take a class with them, they allow you to come in on Sunday afternoons and use their pool and equipment to brush up on your skills for $10. Seems like a great deal to me! And I plan to take them up on it periodically!

Choose a different place at all costs. I took an advanced course there only to find the most unprofessional dive shop I have ever seen. Every staff member had something negative to say about another team member and was told to never listen to the owner John. During the lake portion, one of the new students RAN OUT OF AIR underwater and had to be towed back in. In the end I had an extra charge I tried to politely ask the owner about, he got very defensive and rude. He couldn't give me an itemized list of where the number came from, only that I was getting a deal. Turned out it was an arbitrary number he just made up and after I called him out he won't respond to me. Be prepared to be nickel and dime. There are some good people I met from the shop but overall it was a very disappointing experience for my classmate and I.

0 stars all the way, and a lost customer and referral for life! I am a local Recreational Scuba Instructor. I teach private classes and do custom courses for the community. I went into this shop hoping to re introduce my two students to their local dive shop and prepare them for their upcoming anniversary trip. With the intentions of renting gear and making the Dive shop a sale, we were rudely greeted and scoffed at. We still took our time and walked about the shop discussing their needs and interests. It was then I was informed I was not welcome to utilize their pool, or rental gear because I am not a "vetted" instructor with the shop. This is ludicrous and poor business practice if you ask me. Intentionally refusing service or access to their shop was the worst experience I've ever had in my ten years of being an instructor. Deliberately denying a sale, and throwing away the potential for thousands of dollars in sales and trips was the biggest mistake you have made Dive Shop. If I decide to open up my own shop in the LC area be prepared to go out of business, QUICKLY. Absolutely horrible customer service and ZERO dive etiquette. If you are in the KC area and want to get certified, call me! Don't use that pathetic excuse of an operation.

I have always been extremely terrified of water, but I was the only one who was not certified. I really never thought I would be able to overcome this fear. BUT.... my class instructor Brad Dickson was absolutely amazing and worked with me to beat this silly fear! I informed him the first night about my fears and he was extremely helpful, working slowly with me, and making my anxieties disappear. He would make eye contact with each student and focus on them as they worked through the skills. He was patient, funny and serious all at the same time. Again I would have never thought I could have done this without an amazing instructor. Also all my family have been certified through this shop, my husband, my son who was 11 at the time and my daughter who was 14 at the time. Every staff member, Dive Masters and Instructors were amazing. With my fear of water, I was scared to death knowing that a stranger was taking my children underwater. But they were amazing and kind through the whole process.

Wonderful people at the Dive shop! I went in to get a fin fixed and they gave me the missing part for free. They were very helpful and I will definitely be using them again for any of my diving needs.
