I went to the independence Food Truck event and I chose the street tacos at Deco Eats. Mainly cause Plantain District line was 45 minutes long. The service was fast, despite the line. The street tacos were 2 for 6$. They contained seasoned pulled pork, cabbage, and aioili sauce on soft tacos. There was a lime to the side. We miraculously found a table. The seasoning was not necessarily taco. It tasted more gourmet. The products are local, which makes it more special. I thought the service was top notch and the menu unique. I hope they can keep it up. It's a good, different choice of the normal food truck faire.

"Deco Catering KC began in early 2009 out of a passion for food and entertaining. The Street Eats food truck serves lunches across the city and at special events. Locally sourced and seasonal ingredients mean menus change daily but usually include fresh sandwiches, salads, soups, and hot specials." - info from www.decocatering.com I had the pleasure sampling their The La Boheme inspired menu at Lyric Opera's 1st Friday preview. Wild Mushroom and Goat Cheese Tartlets - Petite diced bits of mushroom were overpowered by the rich goat cheese. I couldn't taste them at all. The whipped goat cheese began with a strangely sweet note then developed into the familiar tanginess I'm used to. I was pleasantly surprised by the ultra smooth texture.Une Demi Croque Monsieur Panini - Thin slices of ham, melted Gouda, and Mornay sauce sandwiched between sliced bread made up the components of the panini. The way it was constructed reminded me of a pizza. Just the right amount of gooey creamy cheese and salty sweet ham made this sandwich delicious! The arugula salad was fresh with a satisfying crunch in every bite. A slightly tart Dijon vinaigrette was drizzled over the top. Eclair Bouchee with Chocolat Mousse - Each bite size eclair was flaky and crispy on the outside with a hard chocolate ganache coating. The custard cream filling flooded my mouth with a burst of chilled sweetness. The dark chocolate Mousse was light and airy. Also bitter tasting with a hint of espresso.

It's always strange when a business turns away, business. Said they didn't have the calendar in front of their face and then said "I would skip us this time but maybe next time?" Probably won't be a next time. On to the next I guess.

Deco Street Eats, the food truck of Deco Catering, has made the rounds to my work several times at the time of my review. I have to say, I was shocked they didn't have reviews on yelp yet as they have some seriously amazing food, friendly service, and wonderful portion sizes.Let's start with the food. I have had a few things here and have been impressed with each and every thing. My favorite would have to be the chicken salad and I don't even like chicken salad normally! It consists of celery, dried cranberries, fresh field greens, and crumbled walnuts and is touted as a popular choice. I have gotten it on the sandwich and on a well portioned side salad served on a bed of greens. The sandwich also comes with a side of potato salad, coleslaw, or mac and cheese. I can only speak to the mac and cheese, but wow, this is some great mac and cheese! My last time at the truck, they had actually sold out of the mac and cheese about and hour and a half in due to popular demand! It comes with cheddar and jack cheese with some baked on top. Co-workers have also said the street tacos (slowly-cooked pork shoulder with dried chilies and spices, topped with crunchy slaw and spicy chipotle aioli on soft flour tortillas) were delicious. The food with also come with a "sweet treat" most of the time and I have had a peanut butter cookie and chocolate cookie that were very moist and a tasty savory end to the meal. The service at the food truck each time has been quick and friendly. They also accept credit cards, which is nice for those of us that never seem to have cash on hand.Keep an eye out for this food truck!

Really good Chicken Salad Sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. Sandwich had cranberries, nuts and greens on dark rye bread. With the side this is the perfect size lunch.

Food truck experience. Food was good, wish it would have been warmer, meat on Mac wasn't very hot. Will try again soon to see if it's just because it was chilly outside and I was trying to hurry to eat

Deco catered a family event in April, and they did a top-notch job from our initial meeting with owner Jen Stoppel to the final clean-up. The food was plentiful and excellent. The pork tacos and the chicken salad sliders got rave reviews in particular--I would order them at a restaurant, and guests commented for days afterward on how much they enjoyed them. Deco did everything--I actually got to enjoy the party! They were so easy to work with, from planning to execution, friendly and really professional. I recommend them without reservation. Terri R
