Excellent little gem just between Lawrence and Eudora. This charming little red cabin is both cosy and inviting for all kinds of folks.Greg, the owner is a master vintner and if you're lucky enough to have you as your tasting guide, you can learn a wealth of wisdom from a true lover of the art.Nuts and bolts: free wine tastings and top notch service, you're welcome to bring your own food or have it ubered in, and it's been *known* that you can stay at the outdoor seating a while past close if you behave yourself and return your bottles & glasses. Word to the wise: plan to spend a while there; it's no place to rush, and if you find yourself returning again and again, you're in good company!

One of the biggest vineyards in Kansas! You have to come and do a tasting! So many amazing wines! My favorite was Peche!

It's a little bit of a drive, but this has got to be one of the best places for wine in Kansas. The employees are so friendly and knowledgeable. There's limited parking here, and it's not paved. You'll find the entrance at the yellow door. The place isn't big at all. The ambiance is quaint and inviting. The owner is a veteran, and it's so cool to see that he named some of the wines referencing that. The wine prices are very reasonable. We bought 4 wines to go. We would have bought more, but we were winery hopping. We wanted to buy from all the other wineries near by. While wine tasting, there were people coming in buying case after case. So that tells you right there that Davenport wines are delicious. Come try it out!

They will open for "Wine Emergencies" and I've had to take advantage of this all too often. My newest favorites are Mandolin and Jazzman, but I still like my first love, Charlemange. During my last visit I asked the owner what made him take on the orchard. His response was that his wife thought vineyards were beautiful and so he started. This is my favorite stop along K-10. Even in the winter snow the vines were beautiful! The owner is always friendly and full of information. He really loves sharing his passion for the wines he creates. I also like the fact that local artists design the labels for his bottles of greatness!

The wine tasting is worth the time and the short trip into the country. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their wines. The wines are diverse with some real options for wine enthusiasts. I found several wines that I purchased to enjoy at home. I highly recommend taking a small group to a tasting and plan on spending $20-$30 per person. You will find at least 2-5 wines you will want to purchase.

My fiancé and I took advantage of the beautiful weather last Sunday to venture somewhere new. We stumbled across this winery not too far out of the way from Lawrence. When we arrived there were two couples already tasting and they cleared out some space for us, so we joined right in where they were at on the extensive menu. The wines were all unique with selection within the names (sweet, off dry)(off dry, dry) etc.The atmosphere was great. The inside was clean and beautiful with little bits of history thrown about in the decor. The day was nice enough to enjoy the outdoor seating, where you can see the backyard vineyard (more of a field of grapes). My favorite part was hearing about the history of the wine. Greg (I believe is the owners name) spoke of the history behind each wine as we tried each one. He spoke about how each one was made and the different ways that you can create different tastes. He also spoke about his history with the vineyard. If you're looking for a new, relaxing venture on a day off, take a stroll out to Davenport Winery. You won't be disappointed!
