Dancing Crab Cajun Seafood & Bar

I arrived at this restaurant and was mesmerized by the decor. The unique decor made me feel as though I was on a boat/near the sea. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The server was kind and helpful throughout the entire evening; she answered questions about portions, spice levels, and more! This was extremely helpful since this was our first visit here. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it was very delicious. I highly recommend! They had a boil special, in which I chose crawfish (1 lb)--it included potatoes, a corn, and an egg. Since this was my first time eating crawfish, I noticed that there were many fish--however the amount of meat seemed minimal (could just be a norm for crawfish, unsure!). The egg, potatoes, and corn were very yummy. I ordered mild spice with a combination of Cajun and garlic butter seasoning (I do NOT like spicy food), and it was a great level of seasoning without being spicy. This was a fun experience--I will definitely return but maybe try shrimp without the head instead.

Dancing Crab Cajun Seafood in Kansas City is a seafood lover's dream! The flavors are absolutely amazing, with bold Cajun spices that pack a punch. I tried the seafood boil, and it was phenomenal--perfectly cooked crab, shrimp, and crawfish, all seasoned to perfection. The corn and potatoes were a great addition, soaking up all the delicious sauce.The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a great spot for a casual dinner with friends or family. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.If you're craving fresh, flavorful seafood with a Cajun twist, Dancing Crab is the place to be. I'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend giving it a try.

1. Calamari soggy and Limp2. Crab, Lobster and shrimp had no flavor and tasted like it was prepared from a 3D printer3. Big chunks of uncooked garlic not even sauteed 4. Pasta has no flavor and broccoli had no flavor5. Currently dealing with a GI issue.6. I have no idea how this is in Legends Mall parking lot, employees should search for another job this won't be around long.

I was able to take advantage of the Happy hour cocktails on a Tuesday. Got to love that! The food was good but pricey. I was actually considering going somewhere else based on cost. I decided to stay and was happy with my dish. I love margaritas but found this top shelf was really salty. The overall experience was nice and the atmosphere was decorated with a fish/seafood theme.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. We were immediately seated. The server was prompt and provided good service through the entire meal. We ordered hush puppies as an appetizer. They were delicious. I ordered snow crab and shrimp boil with garlic butter. This was okay. Seems like it could use some Old Bay seasoning. The restaurant was clean and inviting. It was a little disappointing to see a storage area on the way to the rest rooms. Also, one table at the end of the bar area was for staff use. It was a mess. This should be moved to the back so patrons do not have to see this. Overall, it was fine.

Of course I got a crab boil. I took it to-go. I had crab legs, black mussels and craw fish with the mixed seasoning hot. The quality of meat, spice level and flavor were all good. I ordered online and it was ready when I arrived 20 minutes later. They did well by packing the boil inside the normal bag but also placed a styrofoam tray under it for protection and to keep it warm. I'd definitely go back.

So we came in around Saturday at dinner time. Seating was alright we got a booth quickly without issue. We ordered blue crab, snow crab, and shrimp with extra order of sausage. They serve our order in a plate instead of the original steamed bag. The crabs were whole so we gotta dip the flavoring or else there's no flavoring at all. The snow crab and shrimp were cold close to frozen. So we send it back to the kitchen. Then they brought it back with super extra seasoning. It's so salty it's uneatable. We only had a crab, some shrimp and some sausage we left the rest untouched and left. Will not be spending any more money here.

While driving back from the Renaissance festival we drove through The Legends and I told my wife to pick a restaurant for her birthday lunch. She chose Dancing Crab when she saw that they served Cajun and Seafood according to their name. I eagerly approved thinking a big bowl of jambalaya sounded great. Upon being ungraciously seated we noticed that the menu had no Cajun items other than a Cajun spice they will add to your seafood boils. Ok, I'll do a fried platter - my favorite fried clams was also missing as was my favorite side order when eating fried seafoods - cole slaw. That's a lot of basics that are missing from a cajun seafood joint. My wife ordered a combo basket of 3 shrimp, 2 catfish fillets, 2 chicken strips and fries. I ordered the fried oysters basket of 8 oysters with fries and we shared. I actually have no complaints on the 4 different meats and the fries were better than most. Large pieces with a crispy batter, oysters were moist and juicy inside. A couple of other star deductions...our waiter was a nice kid but seemed very nervous and disappeared after bringing our food and a requested hot sauce. My wife actually had to get up and go outside before he noticed we were done and needed a carryout box and the check. Our soft drinks and waters were served in 32 oz styrofoam cups - very tacky and not very environmentally friendly. I would probably not return to this corporate chain in the future. With a franchise of Red Lobster nearby I could have a better menu selection for a national chain or I could go to locally owned Jazz for authentic Cajun.

Find nothing Cajun about the menu. Somewhat pricey for poorly prepared food. I've have gummy worms less chewy than their calamari.

Great food! Ordered 1/2 pound shrimp and snow crab. Wonder experience and it was my birthday. They gave me free cheesecake.
