Cork and Barrel is amazing! They have excellent customer service and are very knowledgeable about wine and spirits. They also have a beautiful tasting room and host events regularly! I highly recommend that you visit this locally owned business.

Was lucky to visit in a day when they had Weller bourbon. On the shelf. At MSRP! The stars aligned. I also got another really good bourbon on sale. Staff was super nice. Great selection - try it if you haven't!!

Much better this time around! I had stopped going to Cork and Barrel for several years because I had a horrible experience once. There was no one to wait on me and I wondered about the store aimlessly looking for one product. The clerk told me she had customers and could not help me. So I never went back... until now.I was looking for a special bottle of wine for a Christmas gift. I was waited on, showed several different options and treated very respectfully. Zach was the person helping me and he could not have been nicer. He showed me different wines with different price points and made sure I was satisfied with my purchase. I was overwhelmed with his helpfulness. The cashier was also very nice and courteous. It was a pleasant experience and I was glad I came back. They have tons of parking, the building is easy to access and the store is clean and well lit. There are many different prices on things so you have a range of products from which to choose. Next time I won't take so long to go back!

Awful experience and awful customer service. We reserved a tap and 1/2 keg for a four hour party. When we went to pick it up, they couldn't find the order at first so we waited. We finally got it, moved it to the venue, and let it settle for 90 minutes before we tapped it. It was nothing but foam from the second the party started- like not a drop of beer just straight foam. With a party of 70 people expecting beer, I called and talked to a manager and was told it was our fault- we "must have" shook it up too much on the 0.4mile drive to the venue or when we moved it into the building (literally used a cart to go 10ft from the car to venu- no stairs, no lifting, etc) and that we didn't wait long enough to tap it. I called them back two more times bc the tap wasn't working and it was still all foam over the course of the party and was repeatedly told it was our fault and there was nothing they could do about it. My boyfriend called a fourth time because at that point the tap wasn't even pumping, and I guess because a man finally called to complain, they finally offered to let us pick up a new tap for the first time when there was 15minutes of the party left. We packed up the venue, picked up the new tap, drove the keg 20mins to our house, carried it around the house and up the deck stairs (clearly more shook up than when we got it for the party) put the new tap on and viola- no problem! So we had a full 1/2 keg of beer for three people to drink because they gave us a broken tap they didn't check before the order and then blamed us for it until finally offering a solution 4 hours later when a man called. We asked for a discount when we returned it mostly full and they refused.

As a craft beer fan, I'm pretty sure I hear a host of angels sing a chorus of hallelujahs every time I walk into this place. I have family in Lawrence, and a visit with them isn't complete without at least one trip to Cork & Barrel during my stay. They have a good selection of 6-packs, 12-packs and cases in the coolers along the back walls, but the true treasure of this place is the section with single bottles to build-your-own 6-pack. They have some great breweries available, including my very favorite brewery in the US. (Are you crazy??? I'm not going to tell you what that brewery is, because then the selection would be picked-over, every time I'm in town! But I'm pretty sure you can find your own favorite brewery, with the extensive options they have.) Staff is friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable (especially compared to prices in Chicago), and they have an extensive selection of not only beers, but wine and liquor, also. So, do yourself a favor, and if you haven't been to C&B before, get thee there!! You can thank me later. Cheers!!

Arguably the finest liquor store in the region. That includes you, Kansas City.My interest is in quality wines, but they have a massive beer selection and the widest selection of spirits in the city.Where can you get a selection this wide and have not one, but several staff members truly experts in their trade? Not people that simply like to drink wine, but those with the knowledge and training to describe to customers with discerning tastes what they're buying? There are people simply employed in liquor stores as retail staff with little or no expertise, and there are industry professionals attending training and tasting/educational events all over the U.S. bringing their knowledge back to the community. Yet there is none of the intimidation factor that some feel when they go into a wine store with a selection of this size. I feel that in some venues in Kansas City even though it's not deserved. Attitude towards customers--it matters. The Saturday 2:00 wine tastings run by "wine geek" Mike are a destination. Worth driving over from Topeka or KC in my mind. Down to earth, sensible, friendly, and possessing an uncanny ability to remember every customer's name, it's impossible to not like the man. He really, really knows his vino. The tastings are a lot of fun and its become a mini Saturday afternoon get together with fellow wine lovers You aren't served enough to get much of a buzz, and that's not the idea. Each week there's a new theme so you're never experiencing the same thing twice. I've found several new favorites by attending these. They've set up a beautiful bar in the center of the store (see my photos). Want to see a happy group of customers? Come here on a Saturday. A nice chance to visit with fellow wine lovers and share recommendations. There's a discount on the wines being tasted. Don't recall the exact amount but believe it's either 10 or 15%.Service: first rate. Businesses reflect the personality of their owner and the staff here clearly enjoys their job. Since changing owners several years ago the store's quality and service has visibly improved.Stock: high volume store. Most product has a short shelf life. I'm OK with wine sitting for five years in my basement stored properly. I'm not happy with the wine sitting in a store for five years. OK, in truth, wine never lasts five years in my basement. That's someone else's gig.Want to find me every Saturday at 2:00? Unless I'm out of town, I'll be here looking for something special to go with whatever we're cooking at home. Do I like this place? Damn right I do.

When you call and ask if they have a certain type of liquor in you should expect them to not have it. Why would I say that? Well I called from Overland Park before I went and I was told Cork and Barrel had what I wanted in stock. I get to the location, can't find it on the shelf, no big deal. I asked one of the workers, he can't find it on the shelf either and looks in back. The worker ended up calling a manager who said they had it but it was already "sold" to other people. So moral of the story....if you call ahead you should ask if they *really* have it or if it's set aside for somebody else. I definitely won't be coming back.
