I am surprised I haven't reviewed clay and fire yet, but I absolutely love this restaurant. The building is really cute and gives a nice rustic vibe with some modern touches. The service is always quick and friendly as well and you can order items to go as well. The plating and food is spectacular. I have had many menu items and enjoyed everything so far. Its got a great authentic flavor and it is well balanced. I always get a Turkish coffee too when I go which I highly recommend. Definitely stop in here since they mark all the check boxes for a great unique dining experience.

I was so excited to be able to try this restaurant. I'm a huge foodie and love pretty much all types of food. The good: The restaurant is a cute atmosphere and I like the coziness. The not so good:The food came out almost instantly...huge red flag. The appetizer came out then the meal within a couple minutes of each other. The trio appetizer was extremely small with literally 2 triangles of bread. The hummus had a very strong tahini/ sesame flavor that was overpowering. The apricot yogurt was the only thing I liked (and I'm not a huge fan of yogurt). The 3 kebab platter was decent. $35 for 3 kebabs and some rice it should be outstanding. There was a huge pile of onions that was unnecessary and one triangle of bread. While we enjoyed the flavors of the kebab, there seems to be something definitely missing. Not at all worth the price of the meal. We attempted to order dessert but we were told only 1 dessert was left to choose from. They were out of their regular menu desserts. Booo! Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to this quaint restaurant. Too bad as it has so much potential.

First time diners here... Positives: the food was good! Do yourself a favor and order the hot sauces- amazing flavors and complemented our dishes well. Negatives: At 7 on a Saturday night we were told that they were out of two of the three main specialty entrees and one salad. Then another salad. Plenty of other great things to order on the menu, though, so we didn't think much of it. When we ordered the Everything All at once and at the same time platter, and specifically asked if one of those could be the guajillo hummus, we were told that chef can be very particular and our server would need to call a favor. When the platter was delivered, it was emphasized that she indeed had to callIn a favor to request something specific. We ordered the starter, a salad and twoKebabs. The salad came out 10 minutes after everything else. Our glasses of wine were 4 ounces at best. At the end of our meal, someone finally noticed that we didn't touch our salad... and she asked if it was okay- when I stated that it came out as an afterthought, she didn't seem phased and asked if we wanted a box. Overall a frustrating dining experience for $180.

10/10 as always, one of the best restaurants in KC. We always love the cozy interior and friendly staff - they're super helpful with menu suggestions. We got the spread trio (had it last time too), which I highly recommend starting with. The cauliflower and green beans were another fav, as was the couscous that came with the beef dish we ordered. Finished off with a chocolate mousse, which was wayyyy denser than most (in the best way). Can't wait to come back.

Display made me feel like I am somewhere in Turkey or Greek somewhere on the coastline of Europe. They have set up this place so beautifully and took care of the interior. Such a nice way that you would love to go there and enjoy some time with your friends and family. They are very hospitable. Their food is amazing delicious and they are very nice people who greet you and take care of your really well we ended up having an hour long conversation about spices food and multiple different cuisines with the owner of the restaurant. They really made us big their best food that they serve there and we really enjoyed it. I would definitely go back there with more friends so they can experience this.

We had a great time at clay and fire. We went for our anniversary dinner, and for that I don't think the place was as nice as I had hoped. It could maybe use more decor or cool lighting or something. The food was good. We got the hot hummus and a kabob plate. Our server was really wonderful. I love that it's in an old house and wanted to go when it was a different restaurant before. My favorite was probably my cocktail. I love a well crafted cocktail. I cannot remember which I ordered though. My husband said he would go again. I would be more inclined to pass next time.

The food was phenomenal. Best pizza I have ever had. The food is fresh off the fire and comes to table quickly. Noah was the man! Up and down the stairs all night and was so kind and informative! Thanks Noah! We will be back, no doubt about it!

I was attracted to the name, and the ambience. The staff are nice and the service, very professional. The menu is a bit limited interest of hot options for people who don't eat beef. I appreciated the variety of less frequently found dishes from this region of the world. I only gave it 3 stars because every dish was very salty. The chef uses large flake salt liberally. I will not go back.
