First off, we are NOT shoppers and we HATE browsing. ***UNTIL TODAY***We recently moved to Missouri from a tiny town in Northern Minnesota. Our next door neighbor invited us to visit the City Market in downtown KCMO, and we were blown away by all of the beautiful, fresh produce from vendors who garden their products. Colorful bouquets. Outstanding prices on the fresh fruits and vegetables. We were impressed with the multi-ethnic shops and their offerings. My husband - - who hates shopping more than me - - liked it SOOOO WELL, he's looking forward to a return visit next weekend!

4.5 stars. City market offer vibrant market in Kansas City. It is a multi building market. Weekend is the most vendors display their good. Parking available with a small fees. If you try to park at the neighborhood, make sure is not city parking or commercial parking. You may get toll. The market may take 1.5 to complete. If you want try the street food, it may take longer. I like food vendor that grilled turkey leg. They are one of the popular vendors. There are several food vendors that are very attractive. At farmer market side, we bought the blueberry bacon jam. It is definitely rare and delicious. Who doesn't like bacon. There is a pork skin, t-shirt, Indian jewelry, flowers, produce vendors. There are several spice vendor. You can have them match and mixed the spice you need.

Really cool place. great ambiance. Crowded as can be on the weekend so be prepared to stand in lines for food. But the food is reasonably priced and tasty. One word of caution.. the men's bathroom is a complete disaster and is gross. There was feces on the walls. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years.

My husband and I recently went to the City Market. It's been awhile since we've been and it's changed quite a bit. Still a fun outdoor and indoor venue. There are plenty restaurants around you'll be sure to find something to eat. So many choices for produce and beautiful flowers. There is one phenomenal garden shop. The biggest drawback is parking it could take some time. It's a good way to spend your day!

We visited this farmer market on a Saturday morning in April. I can see the tulip and asparagus were in season. There were vendors for art and crafts, fresh Veggie, live plants and herb, flowers, etc. Some restaurant and coffee shops were opened. A musician was playing banjo. He was pretty good. Those unique shops reflect the true color of the city. The only problem was the parking fee. I guess this was inevitable. Overall it was a fun market to visit. It turned out to be better than I expected.

5/5 I love me a great farmers market! This one is one of the best I've visited stateside. What's to love: It's huge! Plan to visit for a couple of hours so you get to immerse yourself in the full experience. It's organized well. Foods items are located together. If you're looking for flowers they are located together. It's the same for jewelry, clothing, accessories. There are a bundle of small, permanent shops & restaurants that are not to be missed. There is a garden shop that is incredible. The meat shop is reminded me of the old Italian meat shops of my childhood. The coffee shop roasts their own coffee and has freshly pressed juices. We visited a morning in September and our only regret is having eaten just before coming. Next time I'm going to come here hungry. There's so many good food options. It's great people watching. There are great deals on every day items. This market was one of my favorite KC adventures. I can't wait to return. September 2023

What a fabulous, bustling market! It was our first time visiting KC and our friends took us here on a Saturday morning. We had three kids in tow, but this whole space is definitely family-friendly. The lively atmosphere is really enjoyable! If I lived locally, I'd no doubt come here for fresh produce, flowers, jams, sauces, meats, and more. There's nothing like locally sourced goods. You'll find tons of these available inside the open-aired greenhouse-like structures that are the focal point of the market. Surrounding them are dozens of other vendors and speciality shops. We started our morning with coffees and pastries, and by the time lunch rolled around we had a tough time choosing from all of the wonderful small businesses on-site. Craving Brazilian food? They've got it. Maybe Indian or BBQ? You're covered. Sammies, salads, and bowls? Yep! It's great because everyone can get what they're interested and then meet back up to enjoy. I can see why City Market is a KC staple. I'd certainly enjoy a return when I'm next in town.

I suspect that "City Market" is really a staple for local residents. I am told that they operate a farmers' market on site regularly. As a tourist, I explored City Market because I was also visiting the "Arabia Steamboat Museum". This aside, there's a nice eclectic assortment of shops on site. There are some good restaurants, too. I ate at one of them.BTW .. free 2-hour parking is available. They enforce actively. I suspect that the parking lot uses a license plate reader to keep tabs on vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot, and that is how they keep track of how long you have been in the parking lot.

This is an interesting market for a non-resident of Kansas City. This place had some great little shops, vendors food, etc. but it was busy. Definitely something to visit if you are in the area.
