Chick-in Waffle

Friendly and knowledgable staff. I had to ask what oils they cook in to make sure-they use vegetable oil to cook their chicken if you were curious. I decided to stop in and try it on a day off. I ordered the KC BBQ bubble waffle with chicken and the cinnamon shake. I can't remember the name but it had Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and caramel! It was delicious!! The chicken was really tender and the waffle was good though I will get the regular waffle next time as the bubble waffle got really soggy quickly. Overall, I would go again and keep trying items from the menu. Check it out!

There's a first time for everything and today was our initial visit to this place. I can guarantee you - - it will NOT be our last. The young man working the counter were expert at menu selection(s) and flavors to expect. I wish we'd asked about portions. Trust me on this - - they are beyond generous!We enjoyed lunch with our son and daughter-in-law (#DIL). Their eldest recommended it to them, and it was a first time for all four of us. My husband ordered the six piece wings with three flavors of sauce and fries. Their fries are outstanding! Reminding me of the frites we'd enjoyed in Belgium! Creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Best I've ever had in the USA!I loved my bubble waffle with sriracha sauced chicken breast. Let's break that down:- - - never heard of nor eaten a bubble waffle. It is not as dense as an original, and I ~~LOVED~~ every morsel. - - - never have I EVER had a better breaded chicken breast or tenders. This thing was melt in your mouth DELICIOUS Our #DIL chose the Chick-In Maple. She commented how delicious it was. The manager stopped at our table to see how we were doing. Our #DIL asked if she could try one of their savory sauces. The manager went above and beyond, with three varieties of sauces! *** Chick-in Sauce*** Garlic Parmesan *** Nashville SauceThey were all tasty Our son ordered the Classic Sandwich Meal which is the bargain of the day. It includes a heaping helping of their fries and a fountain drink. Great choice - - plus he claimed his sandwich was fantastic. And so large, he only ate HALF of the sandwich!!We ordered a loaded Queso Fries. Were we surprised to see chicken tenders on a bed of fries with two kinds of cheese (queso) slathered over the top. HUGE portions which the four of us barely touched!You will ~ ~ NOT ~ ~ be surprised to learn that each of us left with half of our tray. My husband's wings of six?? He ate TWO and brought home FOUR. It was pleasant to eat there and not do take out. They have a cool mural of some of the favorite scenic spots in KCMO. It's rather bare bones as far as decor, but it felt appropriate. We were able to focus our attention on the food!!I cannot wait to return and SHARE a meal with my spouse.

always nice and clean. Food is fantastic! Dessert came out first but I am not complaining! Everything was good and service was fast! It was definitely better than the last time!

We were headed back to STL and looking for an easy lunch on our way out of town - we initially stopped for whataburger but this spot caught our eye so we went for it. I'm so glad we did!For lunch time, the line wasn't long at all. The food can take a little bit of time so be ready for that but that's because it's super fresh.I got a wrap and my husband got a sandwich. The chicken was so crispy and delicious on the outside, moist and tender on the inside, fried perfectly.Great flavors, great options. It would be cool to have this spot closer to STL!

How could I eat here and not do a Yelp? I admit, I got it door dashed good from Chick-in-waffle when I'm 5 minutes away. The order was still warm and I enjoyed it. I loved the bubble waffle and wished I had ordered another. It was crispy and delicious. Albeit huge. The chicken was better seasoned than Crane's and I really enjoyed it. I ordered a second piece of chicken, thinking it was a chicken finger. It's not. It's almost an entire meal I do wish I'd gotten a second waffle. I don't trust restaurant maple syrup to be 100%, so I use mine. I ordered a frozen strawberry drink. This might have been ordering it from DoorDash, it was mostly melted. I've ordered slushies from other places, they are frozen. I'm so close to Chick in Waffle and will be ordering or visiting there again (and probably on repeat.)

Mr. G. And I tried out Chick-in-Waffle tonight for dinner. I had the KC Chicken with a Bubble Waffle. Mr. G. Had the Memphis Chicken in a bunch, which comes with fries.The food was meh. Both Mr. G. and I thought the coating on the chicken was too hot, and the only flavor we got was paprika.Mr. G. Was more critical of his sandwich in that he thought it needed more coleslaw and would have liked to have a side of coleslaw.We both agreed the fries were excellent.My bubble waffle was good, but I doo wish I would have gone with the Belgian waffle. The BBQ sauce was KC Masterpiece, like.Service is order at the counter, and they bring it out to your table. They were speedy.The ambiance was somewhat industrial and drafty. There were three separate families and groups that sat at a table, then left to find different seating. We were pleased they had normal size chairs and tables and not booths. They also had bistro table seating, which I no longer find comfortable.

If you're reading this review, then you should try it. Far better than I expected after denying to eat here for months. Solid chicken, the waffle is delicious, and the Mac is above average for fast casual.

The restaurant is in a great location! Across the street from Costco in Independence. There was plenty of parking, and it's in a nice strip mall, next to Crumbl Cookies!The restaurant has slick painted floors, the chairs are slippery against the floor, so be careful. They didn't have soda, the pop machine was not working. They had slushy frozen lemonade that was incredible. They had other types of teas, but no sugar packets and no artificial sweetener to offer. The water dispenser dispensed air temp water, and when you are looking forward to a cold drink, it's not a good thing.They did give me a cup with a few ice cubes, but I really wish their pop machine was working!The food: eh... I would venture to guess that their desserts are great, their waffles were crisp on the perimeter, but the glaze on the chicken made the rest of the waffle very soggy.More concerning was the texture of the chicken. I prefer fresh chicken that is breaded and fried. This chicken tasted like it was warmed up in the oven. I wasn't sure if these patties were a constructed patty or if they were a chicken breast that was filleted. It didn't have the right texture for fresh chicken. I enjoyed the parmesan flavor, but only for the first few bites. Fries were cold.For the Canadian Buffalo, these patties were topped with syrup-Buffalo sauce, cheese and chives. Again, on top of a waffle that was soggy. My husband wasn't able to even have more than 1 bite. It was extremely spicy, and the aftertaste was bitter. I did take my left overs home, but after driving in the car with them,I noticed a very distinct smell of bad oil. I threw away the leftovers. So why 3 stars and not 1? The service was good, the restaurant was clean, it was busy and people appeared as if they were having fun. The staff were very nice! They tried!The decor was fun, and I wish our dinners were up to par. I will probably try this place again, and I will order dessert this time. I also want to try their loaded fries. Price points: it was $30 including tip for 2 meals and a frozen lemonade, register prompts for 25%, 20% ,15% or custom.It's hard to tip prior to receiving food and service. Again; I will be back, and I will try a different item..

This place has good service, good food, good atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Yummy!

The food and service was great. Everyone was really friendly and they greeted me as I came in.
