Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

We enjoyed our recent visit to Cheddars. We had a new waiter in the bar area and he was very friendly and took care of some kitchen issues we had promptly. Steak was overcooked and baked potato had sour cream though I asked for none, he had it fixed. No big deal. Food was great and prices are decent with good sized portions.

The other evening, my parents and I had dinner at this particular Cheddars restaurant. I've been to this restaurant with them several times and it seems to always lack in service. We were seated immediately by the host. But it took a while for a waiter to come over and he was not particularly friendly. It took quite some time for our food to come out and the manager knew that it was taking a long time because he stopped by to tell us it was coming out soon. But in reality it really didn't and the server came and told us the same thing about 15 minutes after the manager. Finally, our food did come out, and that was the one positive of the evening at this restaurant. The food is consistently good at most of their chain restaurants. It is a casual restaurant and it was pretty quiet and generally clean.

The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and answered my various food item questions to assist in my decision. However, I decided to try a menu item that was new to me from Cheddars because why not !?I ordered the chicken pot pie. I don't know about you, but I prefer equal parts chicken and vegetables, but this one seemed to be a ton of chicken and maybe a few spoons of veggies. Maybe have more crust would have made it better but I don't think so. I felt like I left half a chicken behind as I ran out of vegetables. Something good to know is that these are prepared in house and not already prepared (frozen). I won't order this particular item again but will definitely return to Cheddar's again. I will say that the portion itself was very generous and filling. Very tasty. And the croissants are always delicious with the drizzled honey butter

Maybe I just haven't been to this location in awhile but man this place gotten better over the years! First of all nothing can beat the honey butter croissants, they were sooooo good and always served hot!I ordered a sirloin medium rare and it did come out more on the rare side, however that being said its not a steakhouse so overall if you lower your expectations before coming here the food will be outstanding!I will be back in the near future!

I don't even know where to start on this review. Our first experience with this place started 10 or so years ago when they first opened. It was brand new, and we were excited to try it out. Unfortunately, our entire experience was horrid. The food, the service, the ambiance... ALL WERE POOR at best. So, as a result, we NEVER WENT BACK. (That is, until 3 months ago). Over the past 10 years after opening, we'd drive by and see all sorts of cars in their parking lot on the weekends. And we just couldn't believe that they did that kind of business when it was so bad!!! So, 3 months ago, we decided to go back and try them once more. Well, we were glad we did. That second visit, 10 years later, was excellent. I had the meatloaf dinner, and my husband had the double chicken fried chicken dinner with carrots. Everything was extremely good! The food was delicious and fresh, the service was spectacular, and the prices were adorable and fair. We were impressed. So, since we were in the middle of a kitchen remodel, we started frequenting this establishment. I continued ordering the meatloaf, and my husband continued to order the chicken fried chicken dinner. We developed a favorite server who remembered our standard order and preferences. AJ, an excellent server, was very efficient and helpful. Actually, every server we've had there was extremely friendly, fast, and efficient. So we continued to dine there several times a week, and then some. One evening, we decided that instead of eating out, we'd call in an order to-go. We always order extra gravy for the meatloaf. I have a smaller throat and need foods that are moist and easy to eat. So I explained we needed extra, and we didn't have any issue paying for the extra side of gravy. When my husband got back with the food, the order not only didn't have extra gravy with it, but it didn't have ANY GRAVY on it anywhere! No kidding. So I called to speak to the manager who simply stated that she'd have a talk with the kitchen and hung up. WHAT‽‽‽ That was rather concerning as I'd explained calmly, and kindly about the issues and why It it was even an issue. But she didn't care or offer any remakes, etc. So, I just decided to ignore her cavalier attitude and move on. We continued to eat there. Well, tonight, we were on the way home from the hospital where we spent the afternoon. I didn't feel like cooking or eating out. So I decided to call in an order for carry out and made certain to explain our last experience regarding the gravy issue and reiterated the need for it, and even why it was so important. Again, I offered to pay for it... ALL THAT, plus my husband went in to pick it up and explained the same things to the person sacking it. Well, when we got home, not only was the order wrong, but there wasn't any extra gravy included. PLUS, the standard fresh and tender croissants they include in every order were completely UNEDIBLE! They were HARD as a rock and smashed or something. I called again to talk to the manager and was on hold forever, and the manager NEVER CAME TO THE PHONE to assist us. I JUST HUNG UP THE PHONE AND GAVE UP! I'm not sure we'll ever go back. The manager there seems totally cavalier and uncaring. I mean, it's only a bunch of gravy for heaven's sake! And what's wrong with just selling us the extra sides‽ We LOVE the cooks, who are very good at what they do. We LOVE the servers, who also do a stellar job!... it's totally obvious they all know what they are doing. But really??? I just don't know where the breakdown happens.

I ordered the roasted chicken and what should be on the menu is game hen as this chicken is tiny. I did not receive my Caesar salad side until I asked if it would come. The waiter (Spencer) was extremely polite and in my opinion was doing his best, but may have been overworked. As far as the meal, the flavor was sub par and one of my friends mentioned that their steak was overly seasoned. The taste was at best barley average, and from the picture it is obvious no care was taken in preparing this meal. I will say the restaurant was very clean and tables dishes were cleared very fast. I'll just say the total experience was just ok.

Food was terrible for the price and the lettuce was not fresh at all for the hamburger. Took 35+ minutes to get our meal. Besides taking our order and getting use water and the free croissants, was never checked on. When we were about to fill out the customer survey at the end of paying the waitress took our device and exited out of that. Will never come back.

Cheddar's is one of our go- to places when not in the mood for cooking at home. We ordered the strip and loaded baked potato and the shrimp and chicken combo dinner. Both were cooked well and tasted very good. Of course, your server will bring out those iced croissants ahead of time to hold you over for dinner, but there are some nice appetizers to pick from too. We ordered a Peña colada, and it was mixed up like I've never had before with a coconut rim and good mix of light rum and the mix. The dining room is large and there are plenty of booths and tables. Our server took good care of our table and we checked out with the new on-table kiosks.

5 years later. They dont offer any happy hour items. They dont give any in-app deals. If you sign up on their app, all up get is a scoop of vinalla ice cream. There is no reward for each visit to add up and apply to anything. They email you spam asking you to come out and spend money for their anniversary. It's terrible for business if you're local. Outsiders, good luck cause you could careless.

Ordered carryout..New Orleans Pasta and it didn't have sausage in it..Called and told fill in manager and he was going to send a e gift card.Well that hasn't happened ? Will not go back if this is how they do business...Very unfortunate because we liked Cheddars and have never had an issue like this.
