Casual Foodie Truck & Catering

I got to try to food truck at Community America's Red Friday event and it wasn't bad. I chose the pork bulgogi taco, Caribbean jerk chicken taco and chips & queso. Chips and queso were pretty good. I like that they lightly seasoned the chips. I was expecting the pork and chicken to have a big punch of flavor but it was really lacking. I liked the flour tortilla shells that were used but it would have been better if they had warmed the tortillas first. They do provide a generous serving of meat, but I would have liked more toppings on the tacos. Service was ok. They were able to move through the orders fairly quickly. If anyone is a germaphobe, I wouldn't recommend eating here. I saw he used the same gloves to grab your order card, stick it up near the window, prepare the chips and grab the tortillas. It wasn't that big of a deal but just a heads up if something like that were to bother you.

I stopped into Red Crow for a burger & beer after a rough day of work. The service was great! The staff was very friendly & quick to seat me & serve me. I got the Dr Pepper burger & an NA grapefruit IPA. The burger was very yummy, as were the fries that came with it. There was a casual sauce for the fries and I loved it. The beer was good, but not amazing. It wasn't made by Red Crow though, it was a can. I know Red Crow makes some top notch beers from visiting them previously, though. I just didn't want alcohol because I went in with a headache & it would have made it worse. Red Crow's ambiance was great, though. It's cute & quirky and very relaxed. Everyone in there seemed happy (staff included). I'll make my way back again in the fall if they have their chai stout back.

I loved this brewery and the food truck. Had the mimosa witt beer and a cider and really like them both. Shared somr buffalo chicken egg rolls which were soooo good and had the southwest burger with queso fries. The burger was good, the fries were great. Love thebopen garage doors on a gorgeous fall day.

What a great pairing, Red Crow beer and this grub! Wide range of great choices. Need to rotate back more to check off more items!

Had the Jerk chicken and blackened fish tacos. Neither one was as flavorful as I expected. Overall, the food was bland and the tacos were light on the filling. If there were other food trucks to choose from, I would eat somewhere else next time.The "Casual Foodie" will disappoint any real foodie.

I stumbled upon this food truck during an event they were catering at UMKC. This accidental taco consumption lead to some amazing food. I ordered a classic taco with shredded meat, corn, pico, and sauce along with a veggie taco complete with sweet potato, black beans corn and cabbage. Both were great, but the veggie taco blew my mind! Sweet potato in a taco?! This taco had all the right ingredients and the sweet potatoes were roasted perfectly-the flavors were delicious! I can now blame Casual Foodie for my veggie taco obsession and I'm definitely going to be looking for this food truck at events in the future!

Just recently had finally got to try the Casual Foodie. Gary had caught him several months back and all I ever heard about were the bulgogi tacos. He was just in awe of them. I wasn't sure if I believed the hype. On Saturday we saw the truck and his eyes got as big as saucers. He ordered three pork bulgogi tacos, I got two tacos, one pork bulgogi, one Caribbean jerk. We got queso and chips as well. After we found a place to sit, and Gary finally got to dig in, I asked, "Was it everything you remember and more?" He was grinning from ear to ear and nodded yes. For my experience with the Casual Foodie I have to say, the pork bulgogi lived up to the hype. The meat on those tacos is out of this world. And the sauce on it is a perfect compliment. They're topped with a fried egg so it is rich. The reason I'm doing four stars and not five is while the Caribbean jerk was good it wasn't on the level of the bulgogi. Queso was good. Friendly service. Saw they're in Lenexa this weekend and we'll probably make our way out there to get more tacos.

Caught this truck at corporate woods, got the pork taco and bahn mi and loved the pork meat. The sauce and egg on top made it even better. I will definitely go back again because I want to try out the rest of the menu.

What stands out the most about the food truck is their service. They were kind and accommodating of our families dietary needs and it was so appreciated. We got the deviled eggs with our bacon (next time I'm adding it on the side! ;) ), guacamole which was fantastic, chicken tacos, burger/fries, and grilled veggie nachos. Portions are great, the food came out quickly despite them being very busy, and our tummy's were satisfied.

All of Casual Foodie is good. We have been going to Red Crow Brewery for several years and enjoying this food truck that is always there. The sandwiches, salads and appetizers are all good!!
