Cascada la Golondrina

We got stuck in the hotel down the street during the January ice/snow event, and we're thankful this place was open for business. The staff was friendly and hearing their banter in Spanish was cracking me up - especially about my son cheering for the Broncos and about the boss keeping them at work on the snowy day. (Siempre debes tener cuidado con lo que dices, ya que tus clientes pueden tener talentos ocultos. Nunca juzgues un libro por su portada.)The food was great- the chili colorado was flavorful and the flavor of the chilis really poked through. The menu was varied and full of pan-Mexican and Tex Mex items. A warning for those worried about their figure- the portions are huge- especially with dessert. Overall, the place was clean with nice big TVs for the games. The bass was super loud, and I'm sure the restaurant is filled with energy on a big game day. If we pass through again, we'll stop again for sure!

This is one of the top two or three Mexican restaurants in town. Had lunch again there today and the salsa was amazing. Strong tomato flavor with not much cilantro which is how I like it. Had the Enchiladas Supremas and they were fantastic. The cheese enchilada was huge! I've been here 5-6 times and each time is better than the last. Keep the great work!

I started getting food from this restaurant during Covid and I have now tried Many dishes all recommended -molcajete! Pork chimichanga! Carne asada! Horchata! - on the sweet side - casual good music

Great food! This is hands down our favorite restaurant in town (we're there at least once a week). We've loved everything we've tried on their menu (I'm trying to work my way thru it), but our favorites are tied at their street tacos (both Asada & Lengua) and their Fajitas. I need to mention that their salsa & pico de gallo is so fresh & tasty! OMG - their margaritas (YUMMM). Last but not least, their staff is amazing - always friendly and on point.

After years of living in Lawrence we've found our Mexican food. Fun atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff and great food. Light food with nice size portions.

Food and service was very goodHowever, I had a direct view of the kitchen and witnessed the girl who brings out the chips put a finger in the queso bowl that was about to be delivered to a table. I said something, however all of a sudden no one understood English.

Very good service in nice food Definitely if I would go back to eat again at that place I recommend it 100% Mexican My wife and my son loved the very clean and tidy place.

The food was cold and tasteless. It looked like Mexican food but did not taste like it. We had the #4 & # 16. I don't know what the other reviewers ate here and liked it, but this place will not get my business again.Do not recommend, Tres Mexicanos' was much better!

Really good! Good service, big portions, good prices, will be back. Wife had a burrito she liked and my chicken fajitas were great.
