I have drove by this business for literally 5years, wanting desperately to stop. It always seemed to be a Monday, which they are closed on or I was rushing somewhere on a time limit. Last week I found myself with an open day and decided to drive to Southwest. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was gonna buy something! Tons of fun, unique, great priced, colorful options on furniture and decor!! The owner was super chill and spent a little time helping me pick out my favorite (I was so indecisive, cause I wanted it all) and telling me the back story of some of the pieces. Way Cool! Mexico has always had my heart! Now, I can feel a little closer to heaven while my bank account catches up with my wanderlust. (I failed taking my phone into the store, but have a picture of my purchase)

What a great little shop in the heart of KC!We went after a Chiminea and ended up leaving with more. The prices were fair and we are more than satisfied with the quality of the items purchased. We will be back.

*UPDATE: After posting this same review on this store's Facebook page, which is absolutely my right as a customer, the store owner's father posted a comment attacking my review, my intelligence, and me as a person. The store owner then liked his father's comment. So apparently instead of addressing customers' concerns, it is the policy of this store to suppress feedback and have family members attack the customers. If I could give Casa Mesa negative stars, I would. I drove from out of town to this store after finding it online in a search for chimineas and decorative Mexican tile. I was SO excited when we got to the store and immediately found 3+ things I wanted to get. I was prepared to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars here...and then I saw the Trump 2020 metal yard signs being sold. I couldn't reconcile how a store profiting off of Mexican imports was also promoting a politician who wants to build a wall, tears apart families and puts children in prisons, and calls the very people who make the products sold in this store, "murderers and rapists." So I respectfully asked the store owner about this discrepancy. He nearly pulled a muscle twisting and turning, trying to justify his hypocrisy. He told me that "it's not Mexican kids that are being put in camps," that "Mexicans made the signs" so it's ok to sell them, and that he's only selling a handful of them. He was dismissive of my concerns as a customer and walked away from the conversation. I walked out without buying a thing. To be clear, if he owned just an average yard art store or any business that didn't market itself as a Mexican import store, I would have bought everything I wanted. It's not about his politics. However, I would rather drive 3 hours to Wichita to buy a chiminea than buy something from a man who makes a living off of Mexican people, and then promotes a man who demonizes those same people. You don't get to play it both ways. I implore anyone with a conscience and moral compass to avoid this store.

Finding a jar for my skull has proven to be a bit difficult. I considered Casa Mesa as a perfect place for my search. About the price of NE Furniture Mart, I found some very authentic and beautiful furniture and decor. There is a giant, wooden 8 person table that will be mine! I was immediately impressed with the different styles and types of furniture. There were two pretty(?) bars on display along with bar chairs. The bedroom furniture and dining sets were situated everywhere and I learned that the owner is willing to work with you to give a deal when you buy those sets. There were a lot of fun decor items too. Affordable, fairly diverse art adorned the walls and tables. It was one of those places where you may never be able to see *everything* in there, it was gloriously packed with traditional as well as kitschy stuff. Go soon, the owner is making room for many more things and you can still take advantage of their current sale. Unfortunately, I did not find my jar, instead I found a new place to shop.

This store is perfectly nice, if this is your aesthetic. For me, however, I was left thinking that I couldn't find a single thing that I'd REALLY want in my home. But diff'rent strokes, amiright?Full of furniture and housewares imported from Mexico, the wares seem to be quite high quality and thus reasonably priced. I can't imagine that anybody in Mexico actually decorates their own homes in this manner, but maybe I'm wrong? Regardless, plenty of furniture for every room of the house, lots of metal-work decorative items and yard art, and a lot of cool signage. Plus, the store is clean and the staff is helpful and friendly.I doubt I'll be back as once again it doesn't match my style. But if somebody were looking for something in this vein, I'd be glad to send them this way, as I think you could trust the business to give you what you were looking for at a fair price.

There's no furniture store like Casa Mesa in Kansas City. You can custom order the furniture to your liking or they have a multitude of original one off pieces. The prices are very reasonable. Much better than any big box retailers in the area. You must stop in to see the unique furniture and decor at Casa Mesa!
