The week of Halloween, we stopped in for a late dinner to celebrate our kiddo. We ordered takeout once before and decided to dine in this time. Here is our experience:Ghost town: For a Saturday night, it was pretty dead. There were a lot of staff standing around or rolling napkins. They did not look too enthusiastic when we walked in so I was not sure what to expect.Customer Service: 8.5/10 Our server was attentive and very welcoming, which made up for the subpar first impression upon arriving. He made great food recommendations and even joked around with us a bit. We appreciated how kind and welcoming he was. I also noticed that we were seated on the opposite side of the restaurant near the back while other patrons that came in were seated near the bar area near the front. Why hide us away? I was not a fan of this. I guess it was a plus being near the bathroom? Food: 6/10 Sadly, I was not impressed with the food. Our kiddo got chicken tacos, and my husband and I got the beef chimichangas. They were just okay but the kid enjoyed the tacos. I did not care for the flavor of the chimichangas. The salsa was decent and we did not get queso this time around. We spent nearly $40 for our meal, which is standard for the three of us to eat out. True to authenticity: I really enjoyed the decor and the music that played during our meal. It was not too loud or distracting and they also had college football going. Overall: 6.5/10 I'm good on this place and probably will not return. The food wasn't anything to write home about and aside from the first impression, we were seated in the back of the restaurant away from everyone! Tacos and Tequila in Overland Park is a lot better.

Tonight we headed over to Olathe to check out the highly recommended Casa Amigos. Tonight we were only having drinks but looking at the food, I will definitely want to go back.We got the Chamoy Margarita to share. It was absolutely massive and the flavors were amazing. One of the best margaritas I've ever had. Service was very quick and friendly. Highly recommended.

Ordered Chicken Fajitas at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not tremendously busy. The chicken portion was good, but it was truly flavorless and extremely dry. Very, very dry. It was as if it had been cooked much earlier and reheated. The Mexican rice temperature was warm, not hot. A very small portion of guacamole and sour cream along with orange tomato bits and some shredded lettuce accompanied the entree. No shredded cheese or pico de Gallo is standard and must be ordered as an extra. Why does this restaurant serve orange tomatoes in June when RED tomatoes are everywhere this time of year? Where do you even find orange tomatoes in Kansas City in June? Also, the onions in the skillet were not caramelized. They also do not have butter for the tortillas. I asked. How can a restaurant not have tabs of butter?I also ordered a side of guacamole which was unusually salty. All in all the food was just not very good. On top of that, the waiter never asked if we wanted a box to take our leftovers, nor did he or anyone else offer to refill our chips, salsa, or soft drinks. Additionally, he never asked if we wanted dessert. He seemed distracted and in a hurry and apparently the cook wasn't much better either. To top it off, he, nor anyone else, cleared our plates after we finished. The management is going to have to do much better if they want to keep customers because there is certainly no shortage of Mexican restaurants in the Kansas City area and other places are on top of their game. Unfortunately, Casa Amigos is not.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. I almost want to keep this gem a secret. The food was amazing. Their salsa is fresh and sweet. The sauce blends on the Chimi and Burittos are spot on. The espinaca dip simply delicious. My wife got a peach margarita and it was the best; balanced and enough alcohol you knew it was good. Prices are fair and the portions are a value. It's not cheap, but I wouldn't want cheap; rather have them create value thru quality. We took home food at the end, which creates even more value. To round out the experience, service was impeccable. We wanted for nothing. Ticket time was about 5 minutes on a busy Saturday. The place is clean and very nicely decorated. Give my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Olathe a try. You won't be disappointed.

Came out to try this place with my husband the place was definitely worth going back. The servers were on top on things no sooner they had us seated a different server brought us chips and salsa. Our food was out to our table within ten minutes. It was fresh hot and mighty delicious. The environment was a bit loud because the place is packed. However, it was wonderful with the music playing in the background. It was nice being able to see other families, including my family, laughing and having small talk.

Let me start with I AM NOT RELATED TO ANYONE TIED TO THIS PLACE. I have been here dozens of times. When it was "La Carreta"...it was good. Now, it is GREAT. I have read the complaints from others. They are garbage. The black lady who didn't like being seated near the bathroom (all seats are relatively close to one of the four bathroom) made it seem like they did that because of her color. They are color blind at this restaurant. If you look at her reviews, she has blamed everyone for everything. She's unreliable and frankly WRONG.Then there's the dolt who questioned why they were serving yellow tomatoes vs red tomatoes. He also asked why the onions were not caramelized. Wow. Talk about a professional griping about a competitor.I pretty much eat here every weekend and see the same families over and over. It's a family friendly place with a great atmosphere and even better service.Read these reviews with a lot of skepticism. When one anyone is at the top of their game, sadly, there will always e detractors who try to do everything short of slander to destroy a competitor. THAT is what the bad reviewers are. And, they are full of "it". This place is the BOMB.I suggest the queso dip mixed with their hot salsa. Then an order of "Jose's Special". It's like having an orgasm in your mouth. Over and over.I am from San Francisco. Have lived in Arizona and New Mexico most of my adult life (over 40 years). I know my Mexican food.Again, I have nothing to do with anyone tied to this place. I just HATE to see anyone lie or badmouth a family owned business that works harder than it's BS reviewers do.

Tried eating lunch here today. Waited about 7 minutes with no one coming by our table, and I flagged down the manager asking about a server. He got one over to us within a few minutes. We then asked for waters and a drink. Over 5 more minutes we still had no waters. 12 minutes waiting without a water, and then asked the manager about our drinks, which he had no clue about. We got up and left before our waters even came. Horrific service

Ordered a burrito for carry out. They said 10 minutes so I immediately left to pick it up and got there in 8 minutes. The food was lukewarm and room temperature. I can't understand how this happened unless they gave me someone else's order who never showed up. The food was not freshly cooked.
