Captain Dan's Steakhouse Barbeque Bar & Grill

In the area for a few days and stopped in to try this place out. I highly recommend if you're ever in Brookfield. First I had the loaded fries with shredded cheese and burnt ends. These were really strong. The burnt ends were really solid and the fries they had them on top of were done right with a touch of seasoning. They didn't skimp on the cheese either. I also tried the brisket melt with pepper Jack cheese with a side of potato salad. This sandwich was really good. I was a fan of the spicy Mayo they used with the sandwich as well. The potato salad was also strong! I've always been a fan of a mustard based potato salad. Worth a stop.

For my first time eating at this restaurant, I ordered the sampler with pulled pork, ribs, and sliced brisket with sides of coleslaw and baked beans. My total cost ran about $20 including a $1 charge for using a card instead of cash. I expected great things, but honestly was really disappointed. After driving home & opening my to-go bag a short 5 min after receiving my food, I noticed that they didn't include any plasticware or napkins. Additionally, the 3 meats were room temperature at the best. (Not great when eating BBQ.) The baked beans was the only piping hot part of the meal. The ribs were pretty bland and honestly tasted like they had been sitting out under a warmer for awhile, as they weren't fall-off-the bone tender by any means. The pulled pork was mixed with some sort of sauce and the meat was bland, mushy, and reminded me of school lunches. The only saving grace was that the sliced brisket was able to be dunked in the sauce to give it flavor. The sauce is the only reason I rated this meal a 3/5 - while it is a very watery sauce, the flavors blend nicely together and there is a slight kick at the end! Overall though, if meat needs sauce to be decent, it's probably not great bbq in the first place. Maybe this was just an off-day for the restaurant? I ended up only eating half of the BBQ and instead eating my day old salad in the fridge. I'm pretty bummed.

Food is great, smoked fresh daily. Great service, go above and beyond. Small, hometown atmosphere.

Great mushrooms! Delicious hickory smoked ribs. Smoked sausage was over the top. Oh...the burnt ends...

So I'm an out of towner, traveling All day. I totally did not want fastfood. The gal at our hotel recommended Captain Dans.So happy we tried it. The Pulled Pork Baked Potato was the BEST I've ever had, and I'm up there in years. I got to try the Brisket sandwich, also Fantastic!The service was super friendly! You get your food quick and you know it was just cooked for you because it is still super hot. We spent $25.00 for the two of us. Yes it's more expensive than fast food BUTThis is food of substance. Stop by, take a break from driving and have some Great BBQ!

It sucks after a very long drive it was very refreshing to have some good homemade food. Decent amount of food for the money. Sorry I didn't think to take pictures until we ate about half of the food. Very yummy !! Much nicer inside & a really big restaurant. Staff very friendly & helpful!!

Stopped in after a long road trip and had some of the most amazing BBQ. Each bite was delicious and the portion sizes were generous, to say the least. If you are going by Brookfield it's worth the stop.

Really good bbq I loved the smoked sausage and pulled pork loaded potato was good but waitress never brought slaw I was still happy and my hubby loved his burger . We will go back

Very good brisket melt! I was very pleasantly surprised by the food. Hubby had the sampler platter and the meat was all excellent. Would highly recommend giving it a try.

The BBQ here is so good!!! I got the Pulled Pork Dinner with Crinkle Cut Fries and the pulled pork was phenomenal. The seasoning on the fries has a little spice in it and the bbq sauce was sweet and a little spicy. My waitress was incredibly nice and my food came out within 15 minutes of ordering!
