Canterbury Schools

Our family LOVES Canterbury Academy in Shawnee. Our 3.5 year old and 14 month old both love going every day. Their teachers are caring, attentive, patient, and overall amazing! Both of our children learn so much every day and come home with new skills. In addition, the directors are fantastic and are always happy to help and answer our questions! Thank you Canterbury for taking such great care of our girls!

Welcoming environment, compassionate and caring directors, amazing teachers! We have loved sending our child to Canterbury. We know our son will be school ready when it's time. His love of books and music has grown exponentially since he started in November. I would highly recommend this school to parents wanting a safe and creative place that's like a 2nd home for them. Our son runs in everyday looking forward to seeing his friends and teachers.

Canterbury has been an amazing experience for my pre-school son! He looks forward to coming to school every day and truly adore all the teachers . He comes home happy every afternoon and has learned so much the past year there. It is truly reflective of the directors and the teachers, they love what they do! I would highly recommend Canterbury and look forward to watching our Daniel grow with them over the next few years!

Both of my children attend this school and have received great care by all of the teachers who are positively influencing them every day. The quality leadership is a direct reflection of a happy staff and I see this every day. I'm pleased to recommend this school for babies through pre-K!

Great place to work! Home like environment with long-term teachers who love what they do. Couldn't ask for a better work atmosphere!

I write this review with extreme sadness. I worked for this company for over a year. Overtime it transpired into a toxic work environment that had negative effects on children and teachers alike. The directors are very unprofessional and play favorites. They are lazy and do not participate in the classrooms, they simply pop in every once in a while for a photo opportunity and then leave. The kids were awesome and the parents just as awesome. I would never send my child to this school because of the directors and the fact that they have had 2 instances of child abuse within the course of the year. One teacher grabbed and dislocated the elbow of a little girl and the infant teacher grabbed a baby by its leg and pulled him across the floor. Both teachers were fired but if this doesn't showcase how little the directors are involved then nothing will. I strongly urge you to seek care or employment elsewhere.

We were in need of temporary care while we were moving back to the area and settling in. Canterbury was recommended to us by a friend and so we decided to give them a try. My daughter is 3 and loves going to "school" every day! The teachers are wonderful and very caring. They have great communication and always providing pictures and updates on the app so I can see how my daughter's day went. The director and assistant are excellent at communicating with me any updates and working with us during our uncertain timeframe with moving. I only wish that our new place was close enough to continue sending our daughter there.

Enrolled our child for a start date of July 1 2020 on October 18th with deposit. Just received an email that they now cannot accommodate our spot until November 2020. Down fall of a daycare that's corporately run.

There is a lack of support for behaviorally challenged students in class, and no real consequences. This lets other kids act out and the day always seems very chaotic, because kids do not want to follow directions of teacher.
