Our Canterbury in OP is great and they really care about our girls. I have seen great strides in our girls education since switching to them. Over the past 8 months with COVID as well they have taken that extra step in making sure parents were well informed and comfortable with what they were doing. The staff and teachers truly care and always are thinking of the kids first. We had an opportunity to take our children to another daycare closer to our house. However, we decided to stay because of the great experiences our daughters were having.

Canterbury Prep in Overland Park is fantastic. We've loved all of the teachers our boys have had through the years. Our boys are 4 and 2 and we are amazed at the things they are learning at such an early age. The organization and activities are fantastic. We also get online reports and pictures about how the day is going. We could not be happier and our kids are going to be very prepared once they hit Kindergarten.

Our daughter has attended Canterbury since she was 3 months old. She is now in the preschool program and the entire experience has been phenomenal. Student turnover is very low. Almost all of her preschool classmates were also in her infant room. The education is superb, especially the communication and comprehension skills. The Canterbury staff really does care and invest their time in the children.I toured and researched many programs and am positive I made the best decision for us. Even though we've moved; I drive the extra distance for the Canterbury program, staff and families. I can't imagine sending her anywhere else.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, we used to love and thoroughly enjoy the daycare, and they are not kicking our child out due to a disability that they have been accommodating without issue for months. Now that a new child could come to fill his spot, he's out.Previously I would have strongly endorsed Liza and her team, but now that I have been lied to by Liza and their regional director Ben I wanted to let everyone know our experience. The workers have been fantastic, they truly care about children and take good care of them, the management is the issue here for their discriminatory practices and lying to parents and staff regarding the reason for kicking him out.We are devastated to change our opinion on a place we called home for more than 5 years, but feel strongly that it's important for parents to know.

We have been at Canterbury since late 2015 and now have 2 children there for the last couple years. They have always been kind, caring, and responsive. From very young ages, both of my kids have come home with so much knowledge from letters and numbers and colors, including a little Spanish. My 2 yr old recognizes every letter and knows multiple words that start with each letter. Even the way they learn to put on their jackets is pretty awesome. As with any daycare I have seen, there has been turnover. But every teacher we have had has been great. We recommend them all the time.

Canterbury has been a wonderful preschool for our toddlers. They are very intentional about our kids educational needs, development and communication with parents. Over the past year we've seen tremendous growth with out twins, and definitely know the teachers are a huge part of that. There has been consistency with teachers, curriculum followed in both classes allowing us to work with them at home too. We are very thankful for Canterbury!

We love Canterbury Prep! The building isn't brand new, but they get it right where it really counts: they have great people. The staff and teachers are always so welcoming and friendly, and our curious toddler loves all the encouragement and attention he receives. He's learned all his colors, shapes, ABCs, how to count past 10, and so much more, and he's not even 2 yet. He's even learning fun skills like Spanish and dancing! We also love the animals, outdoor play, and fun activities that the kids are exposed to.The administrators are so organized, and they're wonderful about sending out regular communication, which we really appreciate as parents. As a nice touch, many of the staff and teachers offer convenient extras after school hours, like haircuts for the kids, parents' night out, and weekend babysitting. We had the chance to switch to a brand new school that's closer to us, but we stuck with Canterbury because we love the people so much and know that our child is in loving, caring hands.

My husband and I are extremely happy with Canterbury Prep in Overland Park. Our son has been there since 3 months old and is now two. He just transferred to a new room and is still with a majority of the students he started with which made the transition seamless. The teacher's are very sweet and informative and the amount of education he's gotten the last few years is amazing. They also offer parents night out once a month and in house hair cuts which is SO convenient. Oh and photos throughout the day as well as texts/emails of his activities help me feel a part of every day.

The only reason I can give Canterbury a single star is due to the wonderful women in the infant rooms. I have to say, the women who took care of my child the first year of her life were loving and gracious. However, the administration is a nightmare. I was not a parent who complained - as long as my child came home happy and uninjured I was content. My first real concern that I felt strongly about was my child's safety. My child had repeated head injuries and I voiced concern looking to come up with a solution. The director, without validating any of my concerns, looked right at me and said "I often tell families if they are globally dissatisfied they can look elsewhere for child care." I was so beside myself that this was her initial response...zero validation and understanding. I had no intention of removing my child, but I got the message loud and clear. They know they can just fill the next open slot with some other desperate family looking for child care while they are at work, they just do not care. Their front door is always wide open and so is the directors office door (which leads directly back to the children). She tried to tell me she always keeps her door closed, which is not true. I have walked into that lobby a number of times to no one at the front desk and both doors in her office wide open, leading right back to where the children are. Safety is not a concern for this school. Many other parents have voiced their safety concerns as well and Canterbury continues to do nothing about it. Please, send your child elsewhere. There are so many wonderful schools out there that value your child and have a director who has a background in early childhood education - this director does not. I asked to speak with the owner as there was no one else above the director to go to. I was promised the owner would call me...NEVER received a call. I have paid this school over $16,000 and their owner could not even return a phone call to me. Oh yeah, the director is related to the owner, so don't expect to get very far if you do have any actual concerns. What a nightmare.
