Definitely a must try! Music was on point the entire time, a true vibe. Really nice guy up front that gave us time to look through the menu without rushing us & made sure we ordered exactly what we wanted. Now the food...I'm a California native, I've had Mexican food not only at home, but in Los Angeles, San Diego, & in the motherland all my life...this has been the closest to home I've felt through food. Asada fries were on point, crunchy fries & tender asada. Quesabirria tacos & mulitas was straight birria, with no fat whatsoever, which is the best in my opinion. Fish tacos had an amazing crunch to them even though they were lightly breaded, Al pastor was great too. Horchata was refreshing, not too milk based nor cinnamon. It was perfectly balanced.

Local dive in the heart of Kansas City serving authentic Latin/Mexican food. They have a drive through food pickup lane in front. Screen in patio seating and indoor seating. Our first time here. We sat in the screen in patio area. Nice, clean with enough seating for about 20 people. We ate and watch several cars drive up for food/drink pickup. Price may be a little higher than other places but food is really good and authentic.

Cancun Fiesta Fresh has replaced Pancho's as my go-to Mexican drive-thru in Midtown. As a UMKC student, I had a lot of nights when I'd get in late from studying or going out drinking with friends, and we almost always decided to pick up food from Cancun or Winstead's because of the price point. The fish tacos, tacos de papas, quesadillas, and the margaritas are great for a night in. They're all filling with excellent flavor and value.I'm not a fan of their queso, as it's way too runny for me, and several of my friends agree that it's a miss. Despite the craze, I wouldn't order the birria tacos again-- it might be a personal preference, but I found them overly chewy and greasy. I've never had problems with getting a wrong order or waiting too long. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. That being said, in all the times I've been there, I've never dined in.
