Ten out of ten on the concept, but I have to admit that when you compare this Cafe Equinox in OP to the Shawnee Cafe Equinox, this one does not compare when it comes to vibes.Their other location has colorful seating, artwork, with tables & chairs woven into a forest-like wonderland of plants. This one? A table. A gray backdrop. Sure there are plants, but they're a ways away and it felt more like hanging out in a midwestern garage. The other issue that has me knocking it down some stars is that this has become THE place to get warm. Sure we have our furnaces blasting in January, or a fireplace roaring, but you know that kind of late spring, humid warm? This is usually it, but I have to say I was borderline cold on my last visit. It felt clammy and more "March spring" than "May spring." Coffee is EXCELLENT from Thou Mayest, and it's hard to go wrong. Wifi was not all that strong and ran into a few issues on a video call, but is relatively sufficient for most day-to-day work items if you choose to work from here. If it's equidistant, I would say go to the Shawnee location for sure. If this is the closest one, it's not all bad, but I would love to see some real warmth and color in here to help complete the escape-winter-energy that we all need during this cold, gray stretch.

It was pretty gloomy this winter and yes, I did in fact visit two Cafe Equinox locations back to back. Let's get into it. First of all I like that this cafe is located amongst all the seating so it's less confusing how to find the greenhouse and where to sit. Loved that about this location. Secondly, the coffee is just as great as the other spot. Now let's get into the decor and ambiance as that is a lot of what these nursery cafes are about. While I will say the Shawnee location does have more foliage and is a bit more well woven into the landscape of the green house, I still really liked this spot. I liked how parts of it felt industrial and on the rainy day I was here I could see and hear the rain pattering on the greenhouse roof. I also really enjoyed sitting near some cacti and spent longer than I should have deciding if I should buy one on my way out. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and I'm sure I'll be back!

Although this wasn't my first time at Family Tree, this was my first time at the cute little coffee shop inside! At first I was confused on where to go, I naturally assumed it would be in the indoor shop, but it was in the middle of the plants! This definitely added to the holistic hippie vibe it has going on! Even while standing in line + waiting for your order it almost feels like you aren't in Overland Park anymore! It feels plush + tropical + WARM!! The coffee itself was very delicious! I love the flavor of their beans and that it isn't overly sweet with the added flavor. Honestly, 10/10 and I am so excited to know I can sip on some coffee while admiring cute plant babies!!

We had a lovely experience here! The wait wasn't too long, although I imagine on a busier day it'd be a pretty long wait as it's a smaller locale. I had a traditional cappuccino and my husband had the barrel conditioned cold brew that's conditioned in J Rieger whiskey barrels then roasted. They were both good coffees, I love when I can find a traditional cappuccino that's done right. The cold brew that my husband got was super strong, they said they can only serve in 10 oz because it's so strong. He wasn't able to finish it, and I could only get a sip in. But I'll say, that sip was really good! The whiskey is forward , but too acidic for my taste. The ambiance is great too, it was such a cool experience for out of towners like ourselves!

Beautiful location with interesting seasonal drink offerings. This is a nice spot to visit even when it's chilly as the greenhouse is warm inside. Service is good but can be slower some days. Once you have your drink in hand stroll around or sit by the koi pond!

Absolutely loved the vibe of this cafe. This cafe is located inside the family tree nursery. I would highly recommend this place, cause who doesn't love to sip their coffee and have a nice scone in a garden? I gave it 4 stars because the cafe itself is quite small. The menu selection is small and can be a little pricey. But great overall!

What an awesome winter idea. Walking into the outdoor covered area of Family Tree Nursery / Cafe Equinox automatically transports you to warmer weather and an exotic destination feel! Thou Mayest coffee served there is as good as ever. I will say the coffee does seem a little pricey ($6.30 for a 16oz latte). Overall, this is a great Saturday morning activity. Coffee, plants, and serenity.

Two things that make me happy: coffee and nature. When stressed out while studying/working and you just can't seem to solve a problem, just take a deep breath of the clean air and look to the monstera, sansevieria, or fiddle leaf fig right next to you. All your stress levels will be reduced and your mood will be boosted while you sip your coffee from Thou Mayest in this hidden sanctuary full of green foliage. The new location for Café Equinox is in the indoor garden of the Overland Park Family Tree Nursery. It opened in November and is just in time for the winter when you want an escape to see nature. You first order from the front of the pergola and pick up from the back. They did not serve pastries when I went but do sell Café Equinox merch like shirts, bags, mugs, and quality Thou Mayest coffee beans. The baristas were friendly, and there are plenty of tables and seating but no couches and fewer than the location in Shawnee, KS. You'll have to hunt for power strips for your electronics and WiFi is available. A nice addition is the koi pond under another pergola, bringing more serenity to the environment. Overall, this is a brilliant and cute concept.
