"After a fire at their old Bliss Maple Syrup building, Freight House Fitness had a turn around time of 24 hours of getting back to a sweat your booty off workout class regimen. I have been coming to FHF since August of 2014. Actually got serious about my health and fitness January of 2015 when I embarked on a physical, mental and emotional 90-Day-Challenge hosted by Sean & Kendra. Before the challenge, I had managed to lose 15 lbs on my own but it was a whole different world doing this with a group of people. Not only was this the most intense I had ever been about understanding what my body needed as fuel, it broke down walls of weight-loss plateaus and helped me gain a new confidence as a woman. With that challenge, I lost 15 lbs and 11% body fat. Having maintained what I lost throughout the first challenge, I decided to do another to put me that much closer to my "goal". With having been given the tools and guidelines as well as a support system at the gym and a group on Facebook, I managed to lose another 10 lbs and 9% body fat. As much as everyone has their own love for their specific gym, I have found that much and more in Freight House Fitness and my "fit family" that comes to the gym.You can be large, small, round, square, male, female, young or old and love it as much as myself and the others who have found a passion for their workout styles, character and levels of respect and integrity. The goal is to put you where YOU want to be. Not where someone else wants you to be. That's my favorite part about Freight House Fitness."
"I saw they had $20 off your first session, and were open Sunday's, so I scheduled a 1 hour reiki session with David. I was having a lot of pain in my neck and feet. I was skeptical of just reiki relieving my pain, over doing a massage. I have had reiki incorporated during a massage, and had good results, so I was open minded. So glad I did. The studio was empty, and was raining outside, so very soothing. If the cigar shop next door would turn their TV down, or would be even better. David is very gifted. Reiki session you stay fully clothed, on the massage table, with a blanket over you. It started with a blessing, and David checked my chakras. He arranged crystals around my head and on my chakras. The energy transmitted from his hands put me in an extremely deep state of relaxation, even more so than massage. I almost fell asleep multiple times. I highly recommend Lotus. Next time I will do a 90 minute session. This might be so thing I do once a month or so. I raved so much about it, my hubby will be scheduling a massage session with David, and he has only had 1 massage ever. The studio is immaculately clean. They also do reflexology and have a yoga studio."
"Did an online class last weekend and I really enjoyed it! It's been a few years since I've taken a yoga class. I started it outside and then I went inside after I started breaking a sweatRuthann is an awesome yoga coach and it was super beneficial for me as a beginner but she also had lots of opportunities for the more advanced to practice as well. It really did make me want to start doing yoga again. Very inspirational and motivating"
"I feel incredible after Zoe's class! Zoe utilizes every inch of your yoga mat with her creative mandala-inspired flow. The class focused on slow and controlled movement with deep breathing. It was honestly just as challenging as a fast paced class (but with considerably less sweat). The studio itself is beautifully decorated, calming, and stocked with any prop your heart could desire. The sandbags they supply are SUCH a treat during shavasana. Every detail was thought of, there was even a space set up for me with props before I arrived and Zoe made it a point to memorize my name. Even though the studio is QUITE a drive from my house, I'll definitely be back!"

I'm not one for big spending on gyms and trainers but this place is the exception for me. The ambiance is very motivating once you get past the intimidation stage of being new. They have HIIT workouts readily available every hour with trainers there to show you how to do the exercises and to motivate you along the way. The trainers are all extremely nice and welcoming. I started with the groupon offer for the first month and enjoyed the workouts as well as seeing my results so much that I finally caved and bought the membership ($140 for 28 days). It's very pricey for me, but it's worth it for the intensive workouts they provide for you throughout the day and you can attend as many as you'd like. First Fridays are BYOB Yoga for $5 or free for members, as well as yoga classes throughout the month. On days that I can't find a sitter, I take my daughter with me and she sits within view as I workout. Once I reach my goals I will be looking for a gym within my budget unfortunately, but right now I'm loving this place!

I came here specifically for the raindrop technique from Kristen. Though the location isn't convenient for me, it was worth the drive. The facility is clean, aesthetically pleasing and serene. Everything you want, or at least everything I want. Kristen was very nice, explaining her service and answering any questions. She's very knowledgeable about essential oils, which was important to me (and a rare find in KC).I've never had the raindrop technique performed on me, but have spent a considerable amount of time researching and can say with confidence that Kristen knows what she's doing. I have a regular MT, but will definitely return for another raindrop.

I thought I'd give an update to my review of the Zen Zone, you know, one that's a smidge less zealous. The Zen Zone is the type of place that genuinely makes you feel like home from the time you step in the door. I've been to several other studios, and sometimes you get the vibe that you're not a part of the "cool club". I've not once got this vibe since I started coming here! They offer many different types of classes, from hot yoga, to vinyasa, to hatha, and even more meditative offerings. Each class has its own sort of feel and group of "followers", which helps you buy in to what the Zen Zone is selling. From a financial standpoint, they are definitely one of the more reasonable studios in the area, with their unlimited plan being one of the most reasonable I've ever seen. The only complaint I have about the Zen Zone is that occasionally they have a rogue surprise substitute instructor, which is never quite like having the original teacher that I tend to get used to. Other than this mild complaint, I have a hard time finding any beef with this business, and hope that more local Lee's Summit businesses follow some of their tactics! The Zen Zone has a good thing going, and I hope is around for many years to come.

I recently went to an early morning yoga class. It was a snowy day but I'm really glad I made it! I haven't ever really done yoga before but Nancy made me feel welcomed. I am not very flexible or balanced but it didn't matter! We had props to help and make us feel comfortable. Our class was very relaxed, not super full and relaxing. Our instructor chose to do a more beginner level / relaxed class since some of us hadn't done yoga before. As usual, the instructor was in the front of the class but she still made her way around the room. If one of us was doing a position incorrectly or needed a little guidance, she was gentle in handling and helping us. I didn't feel silly if I fell over or had her come help me.They had mats, blocks, straps and blankets available. Which, thank goodness, because I don't own any of these! After the class, our coordinator had snacks and drinks set up for after the class.I'm very glad the class wasn't canceled due to the scary weather and I will for sure be looking into taking up some classes here!

My favorite place to exercise in Shawnee / Lenexa area. Megan is the most amazing owner and I have trainer with maggie since more than a year now. They have different programs for everyone's needs. A lot of slots available for working professionals.

I heard about Fusion from some coworkers but to be honest I was scared to try it out! I recently had a baby and hadn't worked out in this type of setting in over a year. But a recent Yelp Event let me check out Fusion and whoa was it hard! I left with that endorphin high and knew I wanted to try more classes to see if it was a good fit for me and my goals. Now I'm four classes in and I really like it! The energy during the classes is amazing and I'm usually dripping sweat and sore for a few days after-- something that I love from a work out! I will say it is sometimes hard to hear the instructor giving the moves over the music but I can typically figure it out within a few seconds. They have three locations which really helps with finding the right class that fits depending if it's the weekend or if I'm catching a class on my way home.

"Attended a yoga class at 0830 am on a Snow Sunday Morning today and had a great time and workout! The class was a Community Yelp event spearheaded by Kieu, Yelp KC Community Coordinator.I've done yoga before and actually had a membership at a yoga studio in LA in the past, but after not doing it for 2 years, I was a little apprehensive to get back into it. Luckily, the instructor today was very chill and gave a class fitting to beginners and more geared for a relaxing time than an intense strength/endurance test. She was very clear with the instructions and with only 9 attendees there, she was able monitor us and made comments/tips to help us get the best out of the class. She was very personable, nice and had lovely stories to share. It was a very personalized class as opposed to feeling like she made it the same for every class. All the mats, blocks, straps, blankets, and pillow were available to use for class. Perfect for those who don't have all the equipment!Facility was clean and the bathroom was clean. The Yelp KC Community Coordinator, Kieu, provided healthy snacks and drinks after the class. Thanks for making this event possible! It was a donation yoga class, but I like how the instructor didn't hound us on giving a tip or donation. She just made it an option if we could, which was nice. I did end up tipping and luckily she took credit cards!"
"I think that everyone has been discouraged a time a two when searching for a solid workout studio which then ruins your motivation to work out. All I can say is this place is awesome! They offer so many types of classes and a full range of times for those with busy and/or random schedules. The very first class I took was 3 weeks ago with Megan, and her R.I.P.P.E.D. workout kicked my ass but she knows how to keep pushing you without being pushy. I was SO SORE that next day, but I was excited to check out the different classes they had to offer and I lived to tell about it. I'm starting my 3rd week of workouts and I actually looking forward to sweating and working my ass off! It's also nice seeing that the instructors actually learn your name. There's no harm in trying it out!"
"I went to a yelp event and won a 5 class pass. I honestly didn't want to win but I'm glad I did! It gave me the opportunity to see how awesome their classes are and what results I could potentially get! The first class I went to was a barre class because I had always wanted to try one....and I loved it! I didn't go to any other type of class lolEach class is different. They might have some of the same movements but never in the same order and definitely varied. Going to those 5 classes I was able to be instructed by 3 different women and they were all great. While telling the moves and how to do them they are also shouting encouragements and praise that make you want to keep going. And I'm serious when I say that I've never sweat that much in any other workout class I've taken. It's awesome. The facility at Mission Farms (where I went to all me classes) is very nice. Big room so lots of space. They have three sets of lights which I thought was pretty neat. Red for warmup. Regular for workout. And blue for cool down. Nice restrooms and water fountains with the bottle refill part. They have a day care room for some of the classes so moms can bring their kids and still get in a workout. In the front lobby they have lots of merch for sale. I would love to continue taking classes BUT their prices are a bit steep for me. Perhaps if they have a sale or maybe I could get a pass for myself for Christmas.Oh! And if I read it right on their site you can try out your first class for free! So do yourself a favor and try it out!"
