"The service was top notch the wait staff did an incredible job taking care of customers. The food selection was so diverse it was hard to decide what I wanted. The overall ambiance of the establishment made you feel right at home I will be going back again very soon"
"I enjoyed my experience here. The space was large with a lot of tables so that no one feels crammed. I love the open windows that brought in a lot of light. The interior was very clean and organized. We ordered several items and everything was delicious. The portions are large so while it may be a little on the expensive side that people had mentioned, I think you definitely get quality and quantity. Our service was great and we saw staff talking to customers to see how they were doing which is really awesome to see. I would definitely check it out if you are in the area!"
"Solid performer and the best Pho in KC! Although I liked the ambiance of thier old spot better, the new spot is more modern and the food quality is unchanged"
"delicious beef pho, generous portions. crab rangoons were also some of the best i've had in a while!pho lan had a comfortable space with attentive service - i would probably come back to this spot if i lived closer"
"The food is always amazing, hot and fresh at this spot. It's a staple when friends come into town. It's a quick order yourself and sit down inside."
"Pho Bowl is one of the best hidden gems in Kansas City to enjoy a delicious bowl of pho. This spot uses fresh ingredients to make their bowls, soups, noodles, and more. The shrimp spring rolls taste perfect with the thick and creamy homemade peanut sauce. One of my favorite options to order at Pho Bowl is the curry noodle bowl because of the unique flavors and spices used in this dish. The egg rolls will have you craving to return! All of these items are delicious, but you cannot go wrong with a classic bowl of pho - combo style. Add Pho Bowl to your Kansas City bucket list today! Great service, clean environment and the food came out super quick! Beware of the massive potholes when pulling into the restaurant."
"Oh my god!!! As if it wasn't enough that they already serve amazing Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and other Asian cuisine, they just started serving sushi! It's not just any sushi. I am officially a connoisseur of sushi and this was insanely delicious. I was also there two days ago having Chinese, Thai and sushi lol today was just sushi."
"Grabbed dinner with friends on a Monday night. It was pretty empty, and we were seated immediately. My husband and I shared a short rib broken rice platter and the sliced pork bahn mi. The platter was just ok, but the bahn mi was incredible. The bread was fresh, the meat was well seasoned. If I went back, I'd stick with bahn mi! Service was kind."
"Nice folks, pho was nicely flavored. Skimpy on beef, but that seems to be the norm hereabouts. I know beef's expensive, but I'd rather pay a couple bucks more for a decent amount of beef."
"Just opened in the old Red Dragon House location in downtown Kansas City. (No relationship, but the owner, Joseph, did work for the old RDH owners as a chef long ago) Soft opening this week, so I expect things may change in the next few weeks or months. I always start with Kung Bao (Kung Pao, Chicken with peanuts, etc.) at new Chinese-based restaurants and the offering here did not disappoint. Portion was good, plenty of chicken prepared well, good balance of vegetables vs meat. Gravy/sauce was basic, surprisingly not spicy at all (no peppers present) but still good, though not great. Rice was stickier than most basic offerings in a good way, and while the rice portion was smaller than most, I was offered more if desired. There's no lunch menu yet, so be prepared for an entree price. There are some Vietnamese offerings I plan to try in the future (Pho, Bun and others). Atmosphere is very clean and remodeled. Bathrooms on the same level and inside the restaurant itself. So far so good, and I plan to go back ... probably too much!"

My friends and I heard about this Houston restaurant opening in the area and decided to stop by for the soft opening. We ordered a few different dishes so we could try everything. For appetizers we got the banh xeo and goi. The banh xeo is a crispy crepe and was HUGE! It was stuffed with so much pork, shrimp and squid! They also include mung bean which I personally wasn't a fan of but everyone else enjoyed it. The goi is made with poached chicken (or duck) that is tossed with shredded cabbage, banana flower and red onion. It is topped with Vietnamese coriander leaves, peanuts and fried shallots. It was so nice and refreshing! We also ordered chicken pho, chicken rice, chicken congee and curry chicken. Each dish was delicious and full of so much flavor! I also loved all the pickled veggies! The dishes we tried were so comforting and we can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!

I hate that I only go here when it's cold or rainy, but I'm usually craving pho pretty hard in those weather conditions so the visits stay frequent.Vietnam Cafe is my favorite place to get pho. I usually opt for pho with beef. I wish I could say I've tried more items in the menu, but it's pretty much all pho when I visit. There's always a table available and the service is always pretty fast. You can't count on a quick lunch if that's what you're looking for.

Location: Kansas city near River marketAmbiance: family oriented. Clean nice place. Nothing fancyFood: Delicious. The broth is very well made. Quail was perfectly cooked. We also got fried rice. It was excellent but just a few pieces of chicken were added.Service: excellent Yelp factor: possibly one of the best places in KC for Pho.

Love it! Go for the Pho and the pot stickers. I like their Pad Thai as well! It is in a cute little area which we can walk to from our place which makes us more frequent visitors! We usually stop by Blessing Abound and World Market across the street after we are done, so a convenient location. Highly recommend!

This might be my new favorite neighborhood spot! I have driven past this restaurant many times, and decided I should stop by and give it a try. Boy was I pleased with my decision. Located on the outskirts of the Historic Northeast, Pho Bowl is a charming eatery with a nice sized menu selection. I was greeted by multiple restaurant staff as soon as I hit the door. Because I was on a schedule, I decided to take my food to go. I decided on B.1 (beef, noodles and friend onions), spring rolls and crab rangoon. I throughly enjoyed each meal item! I plan to visit again soon and dine in when I do so! The atmosphere was perfect for a nice quiet lunch on a week day afternoon. Would recommend!

Friendly attentive service for lunch. Fresh clean decor. Easy parking. Wide variety of lunch menu items. The sha-cha pork was a first time choice for me. It was very flavorful in an interesting way: Asian flavors with subtle hints of cumin/anise Indian spices. I'll go for dinner next time.

I came here with the intention of trying their banh mi. As someone who used to live in Dallas, where Vietnamese food was plentiful, and as a Vietnamese person myself, my standards are pretty high when it comes to banh mi. Sadly, I'd say that the banh mi I received fell below my expectations. Not that it tasted bad - it actually tasted pretty good. My critique is that for the price, it was criminally small. For almost eight dollars, I expected a larger loaf (based on other Vietnamese restaurants I've visited in the past). Maybe it's inflation, but sadly, the days of $4 banh mi seem to be over, at least in KC. Secondly, the bread itself didn't seem quite right. When I eat a banh mi, I expect the bread to be airy, fluffy, soft on the interior, with a flaky, crackly crust exterior that crunches when you've bit into it. There's even a joke that when you eat banh mi, the roof of your mouth should feel like it's been scraped by the bread, and the amount of bread crumbs you drop because of the flaky/crackly crust should be noticeable. This bread felt less like a traditional Vietnamese style loaf, and more like a French baguette - the difference should not be missed! As for the fillings, that was fine - good amount of meat, and comes with the expected cilantro, cucumber, jalapenos, pate, and pickled daikon and carrots.I'm raising my review to 4 stars because of the pictures of the other dishes at this restaurant. It does look like the variety offered is decent, and everything looks well made and authentic. If I came back, I'd be willing to try the other dishes offered. In terms of take out service, not too bad. I think I waited 10-15 minutes for my banh mi. There's also plenty of seating inside if you choose to dine in.

"We have been here a number of times but brought it home to eat it. Which was very good but food is always usually better when you eat at the place. So we did tonight and honestly either way it's so good. I think this is officially our favorite place for Pho. We would drive downtown to get Pho usually and they're good but not this good. The broth is drinkable it's so flavorful. I had the small steak Pho bowl and my husband got the vermicelli pork and loves it. Daughter and friend got Chicken Noodle Pho and loved it so much. Broth for this was very good as well where normally she leaves all the broth. Not so today. Again everything is so flavorsome and fresh with nice portion sizes. We also had the fresh spring rolls, very tasty and has the shrimp in them too. The peanut sauce is one of the best in town. If you like traditional Vietnamese this is definitely the place to go. People who run or own it are very friendly and kept our glasses full and plentiful. Highly recommend."
"This was my 1st experience.. & the only reason I'm giving it a 4 was because of the self serve drink station. They didn't even bring water to the table, you had to get up & do that yourself. I did not really care to keep getting up to refill. Other than that, the food was amazing. I had the seafood ramen, my friend had the shrimp ramen, my other friend2 friends the seafood Pho. We all really enjoyed our food. The appetizers were really good. The vegetable dumplings were probably the best thing we ordered. We will most likely go back. Things to fix: I wish the sign was lit, or bigger. I wish they had the name Pho La La in more places. Its a nice name but barely visible. Also, at least offer water to the table. That's all."
"Grabbed dinner with the Foodies' club at my school. First, this restaurant and tasty Thai are all in one space now. So if you're looking for it and don't see the sign, that is why. It is small, many people had takeout while we were there. Service was kind. Food was just ok. I had the beef pho. It was a HUGE portion and definitely needed additions before it tasted good. I'd probably skip this the next time I want pho."
"What a hidden gem. My friend and I decided to dine in on a whim. There is very limited seating so it's better for small groups, four max. We were told that a lot of people choose to-go or pick up, rather than dine in. The room is bright and the menu looks really delicious. I wanted to try everything! The Mee Ka Tii was so delicious. The pork was the most tender I've had in a soup and cooked perfectly. My friend got the Boat Noodles and raved about. Loved all the rich flavors. We will be back for sure. Loved this little place."
"The place itself is kind of a get in get out sort of vibe. So I wouldn't say date place unless you just want really good food and your date is OK with that. They have a station to get extra goodies for your food. Very functional. The staff are very kind and helpful. The food tho, that's the winner I had Bahn Mi which I've had before, but it was probably the best I've ever had. And I tried Cahn Bun for the first time and it was so delicious. The noodles kind of feel like noodles everything was so fresh."
"This restaurant is one of my mom's favorite places to get Vietnamese food. We love their sweet potato fries with shrimp and I enjoy their meatball pho. The food is always very tasty and the ambiance is very authentic. Service is very fast and everyone is so kind. Will absolutely be back!"
"Fast service, very clean, and pay at the counter so quick when you're done. The food is delicious, flavorful, and well prepared. Details are important and you can see it in their dishes. Parking isn't bad along the street but it doesn't get full quickly! Great place for Pho but also so many other Vietnamese plates. Love the original location best in Columbus Park"
"This restaurant is the local equivalent of Disney. There are many different varieties and things to try. A person will never be bored in this restaurant. The first time I went here I was overwhelmed by the menu. I thought it was extensive and that was BEFORE I learned there was a second menu of Japanese food. I did not dare look at that menu, though, because I was still working my way through Menu #1.So many offerings- soups, salads, appetizers, vegetable dishes. Rice and noodle dishes, ramen meals, and so many other goodies. I have had a sampling of some of the items and have not ever been disappointed. The food has been just as described, fresh, hot and served quickly. The owners, Alan and Lisa, are very accommodating and they truly want you to enjoy your dining experience. There also seem to be quite a few regulars that come here, too. Regular customers are a great sign for any business. The restaurant is big and spacious. The decor is nicely done and the colors blend together well. Although it is a big restaurant, you do not feel overwhelmed and there is still a living room atmosphere. One thing I like about this restaurant is that it is not adorned with fake Asian motifs. Everything is nicely done. There is plenty of parking, as well. This restaurant is in a big strip mall and parking is never an issue. The prices are reasonable and nothing is outrageously priced. The quality of the food is good and everything is fresh and freshly prepared. The food is not the only thing they offer here, either. There is a karaoke bar for the adventurous and there are many rooms for small group gatherings. There seems to be a number of different activities that are offered in the bar area. The bar has an extensive selection of wines and liquors to try, as well. Reasonably priced, easy to access, fresh and hot food, well stocked bar. Honestly, is there anything else?"
"I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I find it to be very good and I like the quaint atmosphere. The spring rolls were some of the best I've had in town, and I enjoyed their sauce. I ordered a veggie dish with egg noodles and tofu. The tofu was prepared well & while I'm not convinced they were actually egg noodles, they had a unique and delicious flavor I have not experienced before. The veggies were also crisp and very fresh. I love when there is still a crunch to the vegetables. Their homemade sauces are pretty yum too.The only down side is that I developed the start of a migraine about 15-20 minutes after the meal, which I fear may be the result of MSG and I know while it is natural, some will also add it to ingredients/dishes. So I guess it's a crap shoot if I'll be back, but I did still want to sing their praises!"
"We usually come here several times of winter, I'm not sure why, it's just winter food for us. It does seem the ownership has changed, and the food was still pretty good. The service was prompt and courteous, and our appetizers came out quickly. The lemon grass beef is one of my favorite dishes, alongside the pork egg rolls and the shrimp spring rolls. The shrimp spring rolls seem a little different, possibly more noodles than previously. It's an unassuming little location in a strip mall, next to Paleteria. It's quite clean, and there's usually always a table available when we come in."
"Allen is an amazing bartender. Whenever I'm in town, I come here. I've never had anything less than a delicious meal. Want a nice bar to go to? Check. Need a private karaoke room to show off your beautiful voice? Check. Are you interested in being daring and trying some classic Asian dishes while your friends want sesame or orange chicken? Check! I always order the crispy pork intestine which is awesome. The pork spring rolls today were excellent and the meat inside isn't overly diced up.. it tastes like quality fresh pork. My date had Shanghai noodle bowl with bok choy and a little bit of mushroom. It was also excellent. Can't wait to come back again."
"Never disappoints. Chicken Pad Thai was exceptional and the stir fried noodles my husband ordered hit the spot!"
"Such a great little place that reminds me of Cheers!! When we were paying the owner asked where we were from and I told him KC. He said no wonder. I was like what heck? Do we stand out or something?? So I asked.... He said it was bc they had been there for four years and we had never been in! That's impressive! The owner was super nice, bubbly guy and apparently very aware of his customers! We each had a spring roll and then split the spicy beef noodle soup. Everything came out fast and super hot. The spring rolls were only 99¢, but I will say they were pretty small. The soup was a huge piping hot bowl that was really great. The restaurant was small, but we didn't have any trouble finding a seat. The only thing I'd ding them for was the lid of the fish sauce was dirty. That's one of those things that bothers me. It's just that little extra attention to cleanliness that I appreciate."
"I've only gotten food to go from here so I can't speak much for the service. I've gotten the pho with steak and the pho with brisket. Both were fantastic. The flavors were pronounced and fresh tasting. Food has always been ready and hot when I've arrived to pick it up. This place is definitely worth a try!"
"Pho Vietnam is one of my favorite Vietnamese places to eat at (and I'm Vietnamese so that means a lot!) Their pho is one of the best that I've tried so far because the broth is always so tasty and never oily like other ones I've had around the area. Their meatballs are delicious and their portions are generous. The service is fast and the ambiance feels like a true authentic restaurant that you would see in Vietnam!"
