"As always, Capital Grille is the spot to start any weekend with great cocktails, delicious bites and seeing everyone you know. We enjoyed Stoli Doli's and The Bohemian, Lamb Lollipops and Bluepoint Oysters. Food took a little longer than usual but was worth the wait. Craving those Lamb Lollipops already!"
"My husband took me here for our anniversary. This is a business causal upper scale restaurant. With valet parking. It's not only a restaurant it is an experience. They do the little touches that used to be common with fine dinning. IE: crumb sweeping, serving of a dish, bring out and placing of correct silverware to be used etc. Since they knew it was our anniversary, they gave us a hand written card and some rose petals. We started off with drinks and an appetizer. The delicious drinks were presented side table and a fun experience. My husband had the Smoked Old Fashioned. I had the joy of The Hope Diamond. We enjoyed the very tasty and fresh Ahi Tuna Tartare for our appetizer. Dinner we decided to continue with the seafood theme. And the flavors were delicious.I had the special of Alaskan Halibut. Which was delightful. My husband had the Sea Bass.We decided to add on the Lobster and white cheddar mashed potatoes. The portions on the entrées and the side dish were all generous. For dessert, our waiter (not server), brought us a complimentary (special occasion) treat. Which was fabulous and my husband wanted more. A sampling of their Bananas Foster Buttercake with butter pecan icecream and their double chocolate cookies.I am not sure if they do this all the time, but more than likely they do.We were not disappointed with our visit/experience and we will definitely be back. The cost may seem pricey but if you take in the details and that its an experience. It was worth it to us."

"This was our first visit to 801 so I wasn't sure what to expect. As other said, this is a smaller chain with prime steaks. They have a large selection of steaks and there's a rolling cart they bring around showcasing the raw meat. We opted to share the prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, French onion soup and of course, chocolate cake. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender. The mashed potatoes were whipped with garlic and very creamy. The French onion soup was amazing. I'd come back for it alone. And, of course the chocolate cake was fab. It's a pricer place but great for special occasions. They have a few $2k bottles of wine and one that's 4K. The service started off a bit slow but picked up nicely."
"I'm super impressed by this restaurant. I'm from Houston and we have lots of great Cajun food being so close to Louisiana. I have to say, the food was just as good as I could get in my neck of the woods. Even though they were super busy service was great. There is lots of interesting things to look at throughout the restaurant. I would definitely eat here again."
"We stopped by this location on the Plaza because I had some Landry rewards points I needed to use before I lost them. Oh boy! We were in for a treat! Arianna was our delightful server and she was so kind and helpful! The restaurant is gorgeous and well appointed. They have a wonderful way about them here. Arianna knew her way around the wine list. We started with the suggested pour which was a delightful Sav Blanc from Justin on the Central Coast (NV). It was glorious!! I can see why they are highlighting it. I'll be buying a case. I had some lovely oysters and the shrimp cocktail to start. My wife had the clam chowder which is her favorite on Earth and I also love. The complimentary sourdough bread was amazingly delicious! For mains I had the sirloin, which was better than the Golden Ox version I had a few nights ago. By far. My wife had pan seared sea scallops with sherry cream sauce and risotto with peas and micro greens. It was all outstanding. We moved to the area from Vegas 15 months ago and both agreed this is the best meal out we've had so far in KC. Delicious!! McCormick & Schmick's and the vivacious Arianna delivered!"
"Haven't been here in like 10 years! Thought we would go since it's been forever. It was very good. Loved all the meat selections offered. Even got some grilled pineapple! It was so good. Glad they came around with it to the table! The buffet part does have some good options, but don't expect something huge like you're at Golden Corral. No. It's fancy sides, this place isn't really for young kids. But the buffet part has had a salad bar with 4 choices of dressings and few toppings. Also some cold sides like pasta salad, pineapple salad, cucumber salad, broccoli salad, asparagus, other veggie blends, and such. If you're picky you might not like the cold side options except salad. They have a lot of Brazilian sides. It's a Brazilian restaurant! There's soup, alfredo, mashed potatoes, beans, veggies for hot sides. Beef stroganoff was good too. You get bread and these cinnamon banana things too for the table. They do have dessert if you happen to save any room! You get so full with all the meat! We got tres leche cake and this passionfruit mousse. O my gosh, that mousse is amazing!!!"
"Had a nice dinner! Wanted to give this steakhouse a try. Our group of four had the bone in KC strip, Filet Mignon with crab, and the Chilean Seabass. We got the oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer and for sides the lobster Mac and Cheese and brussel sprouts. The food was all delicious. Filet mignon was cookedto perfection and very tender. The bone in was ordered "medium" and was over cooked, closer to well done. We hand the Soufflé for dessert and it was good too. This is an elegant restaurant and service was friendly and attentive. However at the end of the day the food was OVER PRICED and we liked J Gilbert's better. They have a better menu, with more Variety, for a better price. They also have wood fired steaks that taste better. J Gilbert's is the better steakhouse."
"Dinner for four on a busy Thursday. Service was attentive & we were able to move from a table to quieter booth. We had salmon, excellent, and steaks. The filet was grand the med rare ribeye a bit gristly and chewy. We shared with the server one at our table had an onion/garlic allergy so have chef select her side dish. She was served steamed broccoli with a garlic butter. ouch. The bottles above the bar were arranged in a colorful palette, nice touch."
"I have lived in KC 7 years and somehow never knew JJ's existed and I feel like I've missed out. Ambiance: This is an elegant spot that provides cozy vibes. We went for a birthday dinner and it was the perfect spot. Service was amazing ! (Shoutout Dean) they even gave a free dessert for the birthday girl. Food/Drinks: Everything the table ordered was absolutely delicious. We had the meatballs and cheese platter for apps, and various main dishes that everyone loved. Doesn't seem like there's a bad option. My Chicken Marsala was to die for and honestly who even says that about Chicken Marsala ??"
"I have always been wanting to try Jess and Jims so what a friend suggested going there for lunch, I immediately said yes. It's really neat to see the accolades they have achieved over so many years while keeping it a family owned restaurant. Inside you can tell that they take pride in their family and their traditions. A lot of interior design feels nostalgic to traditional steakhouses. We ordered a steak, a burger, and a prime rib sandwich which all came out delicious and fresh. The steak was sizzling on the plate they bring out. It's nice because when they come out of the kitchen you get a steamy whiff of the steaks which sparks your appetite. Make sure to order the steak with their house blend seasoning. The burger was very large which I absolutely loved. I was pleasantly surprised and I know that they have a great whiskey selection as well at the bar. I wish their draft beer was a little bit colder and/or served in a chilled glass which would be my only criticism. Overall I can see myself coming back here for many years."
"I mean this in however you want to perceive this: Hibachi is basically going to Disney for dinner. And Toro does a great job in keeping you entertained and full. From wisecracking jokes to lots of fire, the meal is entertaining. The service is really good and attentive. Our group had a few apps. I ordered the steak and chicken. One in our group had a shellfish allergy and they accommodated her. What I don't love is getting tossed food that is sauced. I managed to not get too messy but out of 10 people at our table, only 1 was cued well enough to catch the shrimp (our shellfish allergy had to literally duck out of the way as it flew in her face ).Anyways, the food is really good and you'll have a good time."
"My husband and I made a reservation with Chaz on the plaza for our marriage anniversary. We had such a great experience. The bread and butter was delicious. Neither of us drink so we were happy that we could choose a mocktail from the menu. My husband is a burger guy so he tried the burger and was very impressed. I ordered the fillet and the meat was tender and juicy and cooked my preferred way. We couldn't leave without trying the creme brûlée which was just absolutely perfect. Highly recommend! Chaz also offered brunch so my husband and I will be back!"

The service here is always top notch and the place is immaculate and very elegant. This time around we enjoyed a few of their specials/seasonal menu items, with a crab cake to start. Their crab cake is spectacular, it is the reason we keep going back! This place is pretty pricey, but they deliver on service, ambience, and delicious food. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion or date night.

We went on a Monday for our anniversary. It was very nice. Service was amazing. They have a presentation of the type of steak they have. Our server recommended sides, sauces. Superb. Food was amazing. We shared some of the sides and still brought home leftovers. The carrot cake was delicious.

When telling people about restaurants in the area, I always mention Boudreaux's first. Truly a gem in St. Joe. The current building has so much character and adds a lot to the atmosphere. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. Go-to is the jambalaya as a Cajun staple but the Cajun loaded fries are a MUST try! We have never had anything at Boudreaux's we didn't thoroughly enjoy!

This used to be my favorite place. My family has been eating here since they first opened. So I thought I would treat a friend who did me a huge last minute favor. She'd never been before. The good - the food is amazing. You can get more than full from the salad bar so watch out. It includes hot foods as well. So when the meat begins to circulate to your table leave room. Honestly - the only thing I miss is the bowl of spice that used to be near the rice. I don't think they have it anymore. The not so good. We had a young waitress who stopped by every five minutes. Maybe she was training. I should have asked for someone else. But after a while of her "upselling" and continuously interrupting our conversations I was ready to pack up, pay and leave. I didn't see that happen to other customers around us. Also, continuously asking if we want a desert menu while we are eating (or trying to) is ridiculous. Meat was just okay. Not amazing like I remembered. Also - we ordered mocktails. 2 Redrum Lemonades. No alcohol. But our bill still included a liquor tax. Sigh.Em Chamas is really good, but I didn't enjoy the overall experience. Receipt was $145 before tip. My daughter took her boyfriend the next week and had a better experience. So I only took one star off my reviewAgain - salad bar was amazing. Rotating meat service was just okay. Waitress was not up to standard.

We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner as a party of 5. Overall the service was impeccable. The timing of service was perfect, we never felt rushed and our glasses were never below half full all while still being unbothered by the wait staff. The restaurant has a great wine list to pair with any of their dishes. We each ordered steaks and they were cooked well, if anything just slightly below the ordered temperature. Their wedge salad is one of the best wedges I've ever had. Our party was sat in the bar area at a circle table, while the ambiance was nice the table felt crowded and overall restricting for our party. The central placement of the table near the bar also meant that our table and chairs got bumped into several times with food carts, patrons, and waitstaff. 801 Chophouse is a top steakhouse in the Kansas City area. We will be coming back!

This place wowed me. The meal was quite expensive compared to my usual fare, but it did not disappoint. The salmon benedict brunch was so delicious and tasty and filling. I wish I could eat that lobster fondue all the time, such a perfect rich creamy flavor. The potatoes were pretty good. The shrimp and grits looked very yummy too. We had quite a big group and the waitress took fairly good care of us for Sunday brunch. The water glasses were not always filled though. The place was very big and decked out in a dark wood and flooring but bright windows. The tables and chairs gave plenty of space with booths along some walls. The bar looked very grand at the front as well. We were able to put in a reservation and come right in to be seated.I would totally love to eat here again and try some other dishes, when I want to treat myself. I have heard the pineapple infused vodka cocktail is very delicious and strong too.

"Delicious! Fresh! We keep coming back! We've gotten great service and the food and sake is excellent! Wonderful staff!"
"If you are in the area. This place is a MUST. We came in about an hour before closing, just the two of us. We ordered cocktails. They had a great selection of whiskey drinks and even aged some of their stuff in house which was cool. I ordered the ribeye which I was hesitant to order since it's a bit more money than I'd usually spend at a restaurant but I am SO glad I did. It was perfectly cooked medium rare and so juicy and tender. Highly recommend. The Caesar salad that came with it was delicious as well. Probably the best Caesar I've ever had. My partner got the chicken piccata and was equally as happy with it. We also got a slice of turtle cheesecake to split which was absolutely perfect in every way. I wish we weren't just passing through so we could come back!"
"The salmon rillette here is simply delicious, and I LOVE the kale salad.Always a good meal when we're in K.C.!"
"Jason S., I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your outstanding customer service! In a time when exceptional service can often feel like a rare gem, you have brilliantly illuminated the fact that it still exists. Your dedication and attentiveness have truly brought a refreshing and uplifting experience, reminding me that quality service is very much alive and thriving. Thank you!"
"I have only eaten here once - but from what I remember, I liked it. Traveling to Ft Leavenworth quarterly, you find yourself often driving to KCMO for dinner. There just is not a lot going on (dinner wise) in Lansing-Leavenworth. Fortunately, I found this little sushi spot. It is a pretty common "westernized" sushi place. But that's ok, because I'm a western fella. The service was fine; no issues there and nothing to report (negative or positive). The ambiance was decent. Again, a very typical westernized weapon of a Japanese sushi place with very heavy Korean influences, and I think I even saw some Thai options? The menu looks like the establishment-just everything Asian lol. But again, I don't mind. As long as it's all clean and sanitized and it was. I enjoyed the food. I always like a good old Philly Role, Spicy Tuna and all that. Add cheese wonton on the side? I'm sold. For a landlocked location like Lansing Kansas, I felt like the sashimi was as surprisingly fresh. I mean, it wasn't sitting on the rocks in Osaka kinda fresh... but it was surprisingly fresh and good for being in Kansas. Good for them! That's a whole star right there! I have to travel to the Army Post here frequently, and I think I'll be back next time I go. It's decent sushi, and 1 mile from the hotel, as opposed to 30 minutes to anything in KCMO."
"Was craving hibachi. Went in early on a Friday night. It was just my husband and I. They had no problem seating us, even though it was just the two of us. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. Hibachi chef was great too. We really enjoyed our meal. The steak was very tender, and cooked to our desired temp. Shrimp and chicken were great as well. I love their ginger dressing salad, and the sauce they serve with the hibachi. Portions seemed massive. This place used to be a favorite of mine back in the day. After moving back to the area last year, I was excited to get sushi from here. It wasn't that great, and even had an off taste. Not sure I would give the sushi another try, but I will definitely be back for the hibachi."
"We absolutely love this gem of a restaurant and bar! Such a cozy and good atmosphere and a fun vibe for the summertime! We went last night, on a Thursday, for their Thursday fish taco and margarita special! Tacos are $3 per taco and margs were $3 as well. It was all so delicious as always, and as always I had to get a cup of their lobster bisque! Also (not pictured) my husband got the carne asada tacos and said they were really good. Daughter had a grilled cheese and fries from the kids menu. Their fries are so good so I'll be back to get those with a salad soon! The service was outstanding as well - the staff was so kind and sweet and our server did a lovely job as well."
"Stopped in here after flying in to meet some friends. The drinks were good, the food was delicious, the service was great, & the restaurant was clean. Would visit here again!"
"A party of seven. We were promptly seated and beverages served within a few minutes. There was PLENTY of help at the tables and bar. Empty bowls were removed quickly. The young ladies were attentive refilling water and sodas. The salad is simply head lettuce but let me tell you, the delicious salad dressing MAKES IT! The miso soup was hot and mighty tasty. We all ordered hibachi. One mahi mahi, two chicken, two chicken & shrimp and two shrimp. Our chef was enthusiastic and entertaining. The experience was a lot of fun for all of us. And the food could NOT have been better. Portions are MASSIVE and all left with to go boxes with another serving or TWO!!We look forward to returning again soon."
"We were in Abilene to meet up with some family and this place was recommended as a great local spot. I feel like in each small town there are often some great hidden gems that the locals frequent and this is definitely one for Abilene. The M&R is unpretentious, and welcoming, but also clean and friendly. I was impressed at how kind the staff was, even to a bunch of out of towners, as I could tell the place was largely full of locals. The food we had was good, and fresh, and it was overall a great spot to meet up. I'd definitely consider it if looking for a local restaurant again in the area."
"I loved visiting Brix. I got the chilaquiles verdes, the golden colada drink and dragon kiss. I might be bias, but chilaquiles were the best I've had here in KC. If you are looking for a place with great cocktails, amazing food and the perfect ambiance, highly recommend visiting!"
"My son loves this place! The staff is super friendly and fun. And the food? Is good! We can't get enough of that yellow sauce--I think it's called Yum Yum sauce, but don't quote me on that! Like everything else these days it is a bit pricey."
"This is a fun place to have dinner. With the hibachi flat top chef entertaining everyone, it's easy to get distracted and not notice how good the food is. Don't be shy if you're dining as a couple, because they sit you with others to give that shared community feeling. Everything from the flipping shrimp into guests mouths, to banging the drum for people having birthday celebrations make for an entertaining night. Can't wait to come back!"
"Food is consistently good. Nice cozy atmosphere. Servers are attentive. Bathrooms are also very clean and the windows!"
"Came for the lamb chop special and it didn't disappoint at all. The young ladies on staff that night worked well as a team, were prompt and very helpful."
"Great food and great service. I'm from southern Californian where choices for Mexican food are near endless. Since moving to the Midwest, I've experienced too many "Americanized" Mexican restaurants. This place felt like I was back home, I could order and converse with the staff in full Spanish, my order was not messed up or lost in translation, and the chips and salsa were great (keep them coming)! A salsa bar is great, I really enjoyed the onion and habanero option! Definitely will be coming back."
"Pasta dish was creamy and rich; literally dripping with butter/oil. Shrimp dish was good. The dining room was cold and I typically am hot all the time; especially when eating . Great service from our waiter. Will return."
"Old school St Joseph charm, great service and really good food, what more can you ask for...? We started with deep fried pickles that were very well seasoned and I had the "black and blue steak wrap" (Cajun flavored steak with blue cheese) with onion rings. All the food was just great. Definitely a place you gotta when you're in town."
"Terrific, food, and great service!Ambience is wonderful too.I go for the Italian food, but if you have somebody in the family that loves steak, this is the place!"
"Great food, no surprises. My wife likes her steak almost as black as charcoal and when it wasn't charred quite enough they took it back and grilled it more. Then two different managers came by to make sure she was happy with it. Great, quick service from Roger tonight. Everyone was cheerful and helpful ......and the bread was plentiful and fresh! Side salad was big also."
"Sushi in Kansas. Yes, I tempted fate and survived. After hearing rave reviews from a couple coworker, I decided to check it out and order some takeout. Now, when you order online it says it will take 30-40 mins to prepare your order. So I waited about 30 minutes ran an errand and stopped by to wait yet another 20-30 minutes in the resultant for my order. Now the staff was friendly but waiting over an hour for two rolls was not what I had expected my evening to consist of. Finally getting home the sushi itself was alright, as one of the few sushi places in Emporia I may try it again but honestly was unimpressed. The staff was helpful and did include the extra sauces I asked for which I really appreciated."
"Hollywood Final Cut you get aaaaallll the stars. The team was lovely, the ambience dreamy, andfor a casino color me impressed. From start tofinish it was dreamy, but the star was my perfectlycooked and carmelized ribeye. When I say it's inmy top 5, I mean it's #1. *chefs kiss* no reallycould kiss the chef! Chocolate temptation should not be missed. Balanced sweet chocolate, tart raspberries and rounded out with cream. VIP level night, thank you Final Cut! Taken care ofby none other than the delightfully charmingJuan, you're the best!Maybe strange but worth noting, because the thought occurred to me as I was dining, relaxing and enjoy conversation. I was able to focus on my meal and the person across from me. I've never been before because I have children, and no one can enter underage. Well it's just a perk I thought worth mentioning. My kid free evening was throughly enjoyed."
"Traveling on business and initially avoided this place the night before for dinner due to its overall average rating here. But as there are few options, decided to give it a try for lunch today. As I am already tired of junk eating, i was pleased to see they had some cleaner menu items. I ordered the Maui Chicken which came with broccoli and wild rice while my associate had the Mile High Club. Our service was fast and friendly. My food was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Don't know what else to say but from my experience they deserve a higher overall rating."
