"I loved visiting Brix. I got the chilaquiles verdes, the golden colada drink and dragon kiss. I might be bias, but chilaquiles were the best I've had here in KC. If you are looking for a place with great cocktails, amazing food and the perfect ambiance, highly recommend visiting!"
"Food is consistently good. Nice cozy atmosphere. Servers are attentive. Bathrooms are also very clean and the windows!"

"Great first experience at this quaint new place! The staff was incredibly speedy & attentive. The margaritas are delicious - I had a frozen strawberry and my companion had lime on the rocks. The strawberry and mild without being too sweet, and a line had a nice tartness and a bite to it. I preferred mine. She preferred hers. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. We got a complementary sample of the white cheese dip and it was great too! Wish I'd have taken pictures of anything, but I was too busy enjoying the experience documented at the time. Highly recommend. I will be back. I suggest you check it out too."
"Great food, no surprises. My wife likes her steak almost as black as charcoal and when it wasn't charred quite enough they took it back and grilled it more. Then two different managers came by to make sure she was happy with it. Great, quick service from Roger tonight. Everyone was cheerful and helpful ......and the bread was plentiful and fresh! Side salad was big also."
"Haven't been here in like 10 years! Thought we would go since it's been forever. It was very good. Loved all the meat selections offered. Even got some grilled pineapple! It was so good. Glad they came around with it to the table! The buffet part does have some good options, but don't expect something huge like you're at Golden Corral. No. It's fancy sides, this place isn't really for young kids. But the buffet part has had a salad bar with 4 choices of dressings and few toppings. Also some cold sides like pasta salad, pineapple salad, cucumber salad, broccoli salad, asparagus, other veggie blends, and such. If you're picky you might not like the cold side options except salad. They have a lot of Brazilian sides. It's a Brazilian restaurant! There's soup, alfredo, mashed potatoes, beans, veggies for hot sides. Beef stroganoff was good too. You get bread and these cinnamon banana things too for the table. They do have dessert if you happen to save any room! You get so full with all the meat! We got tres leche cake and this passionfruit mousse. O my gosh, that mousse is amazing!!!"
"Full disclosure - The Wagon Wheel Steakhouse is owned and operated by a high school friend so you may think my review could be biased. But as a Yelp Elite, I need to keep it real. And Wagon Wheel is definitely real.Anyone that knows me is aware that I'm a comfort food aficionado. If it's hot, fried, salty, covered in gravy - then most likely I will enjoy it. My tastebuds were thrilled to discover that Wagon Wheel Steakhouse serves the mother lode of comfort food. The first thing you'll notice when you see the servers carrying plates past your table to deliver to other customers is that everything, and I mean virtually everything, is made in house. The regular fries and the curly cue fries are fresh cut. They offer crinkle cut fries too like you can get in some fast food restaurants, but why would you order that when you can get fresh cut? The chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, the pork tenderloins are all hand breaded and fried in the kitchen. Wagon Wheel doesn't serve pre-cut and pre-fried fritters, no sir. As you can see in my picture, my pork tenderloin sandwich was twice the size of the bun, so I cut it in half and took the rest home to eat later - this made my dinner both tasty and cheap as I received two meals for the price of one. There is a small but sufficient fresh salad bar available as well as homemade pie for dessert. A full bar is to the right of the entrance and there are new flat screen TVs all around the dining room. A friend told me Wagon Wheel serves her favorite fried mushrooms and others told me their hamburgers are some of the best around - I can't wait to return and try these, as well as their steaks. When you visit, say hello to my friend the owner Linda Jo. Although she may not be easy to find as she personally spends a great deal of time in the kitchen cooking the food herself. I think you'll agree, her hands-on approach makes the difference at Wagon Wheel."
"Sushi in Kansas. Yes, I tempted fate and survived. After hearing rave reviews from a couple coworker, I decided to check it out and order some takeout. Now, when you order online it says it will take 30-40 mins to prepare your order. So I waited about 30 minutes ran an errand and stopped by to wait yet another 20-30 minutes in the resultant for my order. Now the staff was friendly but waiting over an hour for two rolls was not what I had expected my evening to consist of. Finally getting home the sushi itself was alright, as one of the few sushi places in Emporia I may try it again but honestly was unimpressed. The staff was helpful and did include the extra sauces I asked for which I really appreciated."
"We've visited several times now and have had a great experience every time. The staff are friendly, the food is yummy & the bathrooms are clean! Great for large groups or just two!"
"We've been to the Metropolitan several times, the little steak house next to the big house is a fantastic slogan and brings a bit of a smile every time. Their appetizers are solid, onion rings, fried pickles, mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks are among some of our favorites. We've had the filet mignon, the KC Strip, grilled cheese, BLTs, steak salad, and quite a few items off of their menu as time has gone on. Last night we went a bit lighter and had patty melt, steak salad, french onion soup and appetizers. The service is high quality and the layout is designed to remind you of really classic 1950s/1960s style look and feel and it works for me. Good experience and who doesn't love a nice steak?"
"Amazing sushi, sides, & apps. Their jasmine tea is so delicious and refreshing as well, but I see that they make cocktails now too."
"Great atmosphere! Love the salads. A super downtown eatery that is a local favorite!!"
"Great mushrooms! Delicious hickory smoked ribs. Smoked sausage was over the top. Oh...the burnt ends..."

We checked out this new spot the other day and wow was I blown away by all the amazing food options! We ordered everything our waiter suggested. We started with the shrimp and potatoes which absolutely melted in my mouth. Next we ordered the Lomo Saltado which was ribeye steak with seared veggies and baked potatoes, red onions, and Brix sauce mix. We also split the Birria-dilla that came with a homemade salsa roja. And lastly we tried the stuffed churros for dessert! Everything was delicious and I will be back to check out their speakeasy that is hidden in the back of the restaurant.

The service was really good. They were good at communication and quick. Tables and booths are small. Food portions were decent. Rice had a really good flavor and texture. It was a decent little spot. Worth giving a try.

This used to be my favorite place. My family has been eating here since they first opened. So I thought I would treat a friend who did me a huge last minute favor. She'd never been before. The good - the food is amazing. You can get more than full from the salad bar so watch out. It includes hot foods as well. So when the meat begins to circulate to your table leave room. Honestly - the only thing I miss is the bowl of spice that used to be near the rice. I don't think they have it anymore. The not so good. We had a young waitress who stopped by every five minutes. Maybe she was training. I should have asked for someone else. But after a while of her "upselling" and continuously interrupting our conversations I was ready to pack up, pay and leave. I didn't see that happen to other customers around us. Also, continuously asking if we want a desert menu while we are eating (or trying to) is ridiculous. Meat was just okay. Not amazing like I remembered. Also - we ordered mocktails. 2 Redrum Lemonades. No alcohol. But our bill still included a liquor tax. Sigh.Em Chamas is really good, but I didn't enjoy the overall experience. Receipt was $145 before tip. My daughter took her boyfriend the next week and had a better experience. So I only took one star off my reviewAgain - salad bar was amazing. Rotating meat service was just okay. Waitress was not up to standard.

OMG...food here is AWESOME!!!My wife and I came in this weekend (saturday night - 10/22 ) - around 7ish... This place really started to fill up with customers around 8.. We knew this place probably makes a decent steak and potato cause everyone around us had one.. But.. my wife got the Chicken Fried Steak, and I got the Cheeseburger... My wife is very picky about Chicken Fried Steaks, (always saying my grandma used to make the best chicken fried steak, blah blah blah) - but she said very slow and deliberately between mouthfuls of food.. - "this is probably the best Chicken Fried Steak, I have ever had.." Wow.. she is 64 years old, small town girl, who has made it big in the corporate world, traveled all over the world and knows good food - that said something.. (Chicken Fried Steak came w/ green beans, and mashed potato's, and basically covered an entire plate.. My Cheeseburger was awesome..!! big burger, swiss cheese, and mushrooms..We topped it off w/ a cherry cobler w/ ice cream, and basically felt like we had to be rolled out the door, cause we were so full.Staff was extremely friendly.. very prompt, pricing was extremely fair for the helpings we got..We will definitely bring the family in next time, and can't wait to try other items on the menu..(definitely will try the steaks..) Highly recommend this Wagon Wheel Steakhouse..

First. My food was good. The portions were fair and it was one of the more spicy General's I've had. That said, wife had a hair in her hibachi chicken and shrimp. Bathroom was a mess and the cook had questionable cooking practices which is unfortunate because it's in front of everyone!

2nd trip here and we will continue coming back each time we are in Sedalia. Both visits we had a large table with many preferences. Every single person enjoyed their meal, as well as the drink. Get yourself a ginger martini!

"I've always loved Hereford House. We went last night and had another wonderful dinner. I ordered the ribeye with the Oscar style topping. It was well seasoned and the topping tasty. Be sure to try their cheddar ranch potatoes as a side. They are a hit!My husband always gets the prime rib and loves it!The restaurant, itself, is cozy with an upscale feeling. And, we have always had wonderful service.Don't forget dessert...even if you have to bring it home. Their carrot cake is the best in town!"
"Once again, Yelp reviews helped us to find this gem of a place in Columbia, MO! After a long day driving, we wanted to try something delicious and G&D did not disappoint!! We were tired enough to order to go, but it was terrific to see the place full with people all enjoying their dinner. You can tell it's a popular family friendly place when you walk in and order up front & there are so many different choices. We settled on a gyro, souvlaki & fried ravioli (I had heard it's a MO favorite). The gentleman at the counter was super nice and the whole staff was doing a great job taking care of everyone. As far as the food goes, it was just what we had hoped! Both the gyro & souvlaki were well seasoned as were the fries plus the tatziki was really good too. I enjoyed the fried ravioli & the meat sauce it came with tasted homemade too. We did say we were disappointed in two things- that we didn't order dessert & that we live so far away."
"Came for the lamb chop special and it didn't disappoint at all. The young ladies on staff that night worked well as a team, were prompt and very helpful."
"Catfish cooked to perfection. Ribeye delicious. Staff, extremely friendly. Would recommend."
"Today, I stopped in at Kansas City (Missouri NOT KANSAS hah!). The temperature outside in the single digits, so I gave KC Tap + Table in the MCI Airport Marriot a shot. The menu isn't vast, but has enough to pick from. I went with the BBQ half chicken. You can pick one side such as mashed potatoes, baked potato, grilled asparagus, etc. I got sautéed garlic mushrooms. The mushroom were really good! The garlic was abundant but overpowering. The chicken was good, but slightly overdone making some pieces were tough. I get they probably went for crispy skin, but over did the whole chicken slightly. As for taste, it was very good. The chicken has a rub on it that taste good in its own and the chicken has a strong smoke flavor. I really enjoyed it. The red bbq sauce it comes with on the side was excellent. It had a thin consistency and a little heat. Very Kansas City style bbq sauce. I did not like the white bbq sauce that came on the side. It looked more like a mayo or tarter saucesFor dessert, I got the chocolate pudding with whip cream. It's very tough. Not what I expected. Almost like in between pudding and fudge. It tasted good though. It tastes more of cocoa than chocolate. Overall, for a hotel restaurant it's pretty good but a little pricey... but that's expected in hotels. If you are traveling through, you can get a decent meal here. Great for socializing and work groups!Oh...Service was great. Seat yourself and I was immediately waited on and drinks stayed full. The food only took 10min or so to get!"
"Idk why this restaurant has only a 3.5 star rating because it's far better than most restaurants in Columbia and the prices are very reasonable. I think it gets overlooked bc the location is a little odd but the food is very good. We have eaten here twice and have really enjoyed all their dishes. The palette here tends towards sweet or salty and although I would prefer a bit more restraint I have learned that the Midwest is big on salt and sugar. They are very good at cooking their proteins just right. We ordered the shrimp risotto special without the bleu cheese because I'm not a fan of bleu cheese. Even with the special request to omit the bleu cheese it was really goodI hade the ribeye with the broiled lobster add on and it was also perfectly cooked My husband had the tenderloin w Boursin and lobster cheese on the side. Lobster and Boursin surprise my goes well together and worked well on the corn on the cob I would totally recommend this place for date night. It's a great place to get a really good meal at a very reasonable price"
"First time here, had to try it before I move back to KC area. They had a special, KC Strip, salad, potato (had great fries with delicious bowl of gravy), dinner rolls and shrimp cocktail for $36. Can't beat that and the steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The gravy I could've drank out of my water glass. Staff was super friendly, our service was great. Maybe best meal I've had in Topeka."
"The menu offers many tempting selections. The pork shank was fabulous. The view was outstanding. The service was so, so. Very slow and our waitress seemed a bit confused at times. We will be going back again. Making sure we have a different server."
"I have only eaten here once - but from what I remember, I liked it. Traveling to Ft Leavenworth quarterly, you find yourself often driving to KCMO for dinner. There just is not a lot going on (dinner wise) in Lansing-Leavenworth. Fortunately, I found this little sushi spot. It is a pretty common "westernized" sushi place. But that's ok, because I'm a western fella. The service was fine; no issues there and nothing to report (negative or positive). The ambiance was decent. Again, a very typical westernized weapon of a Japanese sushi place with very heavy Korean influences, and I think I even saw some Thai options? The menu looks like the establishment-just everything Asian lol. But again, I don't mind. As long as it's all clean and sanitized and it was. I enjoyed the food. I always like a good old Philly Role, Spicy Tuna and all that. Add cheese wonton on the side? I'm sold. For a landlocked location like Lansing Kansas, I felt like the sashimi was as surprisingly fresh. I mean, it wasn't sitting on the rocks in Osaka kinda fresh... but it was surprisingly fresh and good for being in Kansas. Good for them! That's a whole star right there! I have to travel to the Army Post here frequently, and I think I'll be back next time I go. It's decent sushi, and 1 mile from the hotel, as opposed to 30 minutes to anything in KCMO."
"My son loves this place! The staff is super friendly and fun. And the food? Is good! We can't get enough of that yellow sauce--I think it's called Yum Yum sauce, but don't quote me on that! Like everything else these days it is a bit pricey."
"Catching up in Yelp, it was actually a few weeks ago we dined here. My husband was on the hunt for a great steak while we were traveling. He ordered the ribeye and was so excited. It was huge with a lot of juice and he said so much flavor. I ordered the chicken. It had a delicious fire smoked flavor and was huge in size. Don't just by the outside of this place the food is amazing!"
"Partner had the 14 oz prime rib and he said it was the best he's ever had! I had a barbecued ham sandwich, and it was very good too. The sauce was delicious. Highly recommend this place! Great service too!"
"I ended up at the Flint Hills Saloon through the recommendation of the coffee shop owner down the street. I admit the outside/front door of this place looks shady, but once you are in you discover a bunch of the locals are there too, and locals are there because they know the place is great. The food was fantastic. Service was very friendly but a bit slow. I'm going back."
"Almost a perfect meal, I've eaten at Ramsey's Burger in Vegas and honestly wasn't impressed. I was nervous about going here because of that and the fact that Caesar's pays these celebrities basically for their name on these restaurants. Guy Fieri's restaurant at Harrah's in Laughlin is hit or miss too. Overall this was an excellent experience. The bread and salad were delicious. The scallop risotto was good, but smaller scallops than my husband received and one of them was overcooked. Some of the risotto was a little crunchy too. The beef Wellington was cooked perfectly and exceptional. The carrots served along side of the potato puree were yummy too. The dessert was also pretty amazing and the ice cream served like a butter stick was a cute touch. Service was pretty spot on and the ambiance was inviting, but nothing too impressive."
"What a sweet spot in St. Joseph MO! A few of us were in town for the soccer ID camp in Maryville but we stayed in St. Joseph. A friend found this spot so I made a reservation for our group. Pro tip... if you have a large group make a reservation! If you're here on a weekend.... Make a reservation! This establishment has a family style feel. Quaint and informal but with a feeling the food will be great! They had a great drink menu and us parents enjoyed a wine or cocktail. The girls had some macaroni and cheese bites which were devoured. Most of us ordered stakes. There were quite a few steak options. My husband and I ordered the 12 oz KC strip (med rare) to split. Since we split they also gave us two twice baked potatoes. We also got the salad bar and steak potato soup. The salad bar was decently full. With my food allergies I am accustomed to limited choices. I felt the salad bar had lots of choices for my gluten/dairy/egg and grain free needs. My husband enjoyed the steak and potato soup. It had great flavor. The potatoes were your typical twice baked potato. A good mashed potato inside a potato skin and heated up. The steak was tender, had beautiful grill marks but just not seasoned well and just slightly over cooked. It could have used some seasoning before cooking or something to that effect. I guess it's hard to order steak when your cajun roots are engrained to a well seasoned meat ;-). We do not normally eat steak out because my father in law and husband are truly masters when it comes to grilling steaks. Since we were at a steak house we decided to take the plunge. All this to say we did enjoy our meal but would try a different steak if we were to come back. If there is any advice I can offer... don't be scared to use a simple salt and pepper on your KC strips. Even maybe put a little garlic into the seasoning or bastes with a rosemary butter sauce when cooking ;-)! I am giving them 5 stars because you can tell this is a family establishment and most likely a local favorite! And the ladies were super sweet accommodating our large group of 14! Oh and sorry I didn't take pictures. Decided to visit with the crew!"
"We were in Abilene to meet up with some family and this place was recommended as a great local spot. I feel like in each small town there are often some great hidden gems that the locals frequent and this is definitely one for Abilene. The M&R is unpretentious, and welcoming, but also clean and friendly. I was impressed at how kind the staff was, even to a bunch of out of towners, as I could tell the place was largely full of locals. The food we had was good, and fresh, and it was overall a great spot to meet up. I'd definitely consider it if looking for a local restaurant again in the area."
"Stopped in here after flying in to meet some friends. The drinks were good, the food was delicious, the service was great, & the restaurant was clean. Would visit here again!"
"Terrific, food, and great service!Ambience is wonderful too.I go for the Italian food, but if you have somebody in the family that loves steak, this is the place!"
"Sure Tastes Like Home Cooking!Full Disclosure: This was the first time I have eaten at a buffet in over 10 years. But for an old friend's birthday celebration I figured it was time.Located in a strip mall on Clinton's Ohio Street, there is ample parking in their private lot. The lot being nearly full on a Thursday noon was a good sign of its popularity.Coming through the front door I noticed how clean and well maintained everything was for an older building. Walking past the food I also noticed that everything looked and smelled fresh and warm (no empty pans or caked mess around the pans). Yet another good sign. At the cash register the young lady took our drink orders and accepted my credit card payment. As we sat down at our table our server appeared immediately and offered to take our trays (there are no "rails" along the serving line to rest them on). Getting up-close and personal with the food really whet my appetite. Their salad bar offered a number of different salads, along with pepperoni, ham, bacon, beets, cheeses, and about anything else you might want. The meats were all inviting (their BBQ Brisket was thick sliced, and not a bit dry or tough, chicken not dry, and meatloaf like mother used to make). Followed by 3 kinds of fish, hush puppies, fried okra, and chicken. Even past noon, there were breakfast items (scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy, ham, bacon, and more cheese) followed by chicken livers and fresh veggies. In fact, a vegetarian would feel very welcome here! The desert section stopped me cold with their coconut cream pie and fresh brownies. The amazing thing was that everything tasted like home cooking! Not sure how that was done, but it sure seemed that way. Our server kept a good eye on our needs throughout the meal. And there was no rush to turn our table as we sat for over an hour and a half chatting. Our three meals (with an number of return trips to the serving bar) came out to a very affordable $38 including tax. Needless to say, I did tip on the higher end of the scale. Should you find yourself hungry in Clinton,MO., do yourself a favor and fill up at Deitz. I know that I sure will."
"Don't skip past this hidden gem! You'll think you've stumbled upon a "has been" that needs updated, which is true when it comes to ambience and atmosphere, but the food and service are everything you look for (especially when passing thru and looking for a local experience)"
"We had the gyro sandwich and garlic parmesan popcorn shrimp, they were both very good. For our sides we had steak fries and the fried potato salad, again, both really good! My husband said next time he will get the fried potato salad over the steak fries. I wish there was an option to get the shrimp not breaded. The red sangria was just okay, and the tap water was not good. Our server was super nice and the hosts were really nice too. Service was pretty fast too. The saganaki appetizer was good. We got two chocolate lava cakes to take home and those were awesome! We definitely want to go back and try out some other options. (Forgot to take pictures)"
"Took my family of four here for dinner on May 19th. Started with their mushroom and goat cheese appetizer and a bottle of Girasol Chardonnay. They both were solid choices. For dinner, I had the chicken sandwich and a cup of potato and leek soup. My wife had the spaghetti squash bake w/chicken and the potato and leek soup. Our kids enjoyed the pork milanese dish. Service was quick and efficient with water glasses topped off multiple times. For dessert, we split the chocolate stout cake and peaches and cream dishes. Both were delicious. We will definitely return to this local gem!"
"I like dives: The food is usually remarkable because few customers will tolerate inferior food and sketchy atmosphere. How many ways does Wagon Wheel qualify as a dive?Side road location. Check. Nondescript, industrial metal building --possibly old storage shed--with minimal signage to announce its presence. Check. Dirt parking lot. Check. Worn interior with 60s-era bar feel. Check.Billiard table in the dining room. Double check: 2 tables. Wagon Wheel is divided between bar and dining area, though the line between them is hazy. I hoped to find a little known spot I'd return to again and again for the steak other Yelpers salivated over. It is little known--judging by the lack of reviews--but I won't return and didn't try the steak. Steaks change daily so call before arriving to learn what's on the menu. Tonight, it was ribeye for $30, or "surf & turf"-- the same thing plus two shrimp for an additional $6. My server explained the steaks are approximately a pound of meat. Dining alone, that's more than I wanted. Both choices would have also put me over my dinner per diem. So, I went with chicken wings--8 for $10--plus a fried mushroom appetizer. WW has several wing sauce options and I thought I'd try 2 or 3. "The chef says 'no' because we make our own sauces," I was told--which didn't really explain why I couldn't mix them. The fried mushrooms came out quickly, hot, and tasty with a heavy, seasoned batter. However, the $3.99 charge felt pricey for four slices--not even a whole large mushroom. Parmesan garlic wings arrived just after finishing the mushroom and were also hot. They were tasty also with a super crispy coating but not remarkable. At supper time midweek when I wasn't dining alone there were 2-3 other parties present, so I had attentive service. But, it was slow for the staff, which filled time describing in street language faults of other employees, and diners' incorrect opinions about how food should be prepared. I wouldn't call Wagon Wheel a steakhouse. I'd say it's the place for an authentic roadhouse atmosphere and menu."
