"I enjoyed the extensive menu, the nice interior, the efficient service, the reasonable prices and the tasty food during my dine-in lunch at this new restaurant. The #5 lunch special ($9.24) was served just eight minutes after I ordered at the table. It included a chicken enchilada, refried beans and rice with complimentary chips and mild salsa. I liked the good amount of moist, shredded, white chicken and the good portions of mediocre beans and rice.I found the service to be attentive, but not especially cheerful, while the interior was nicely decorated and spacious with a mix of booths and tables in four areas, lively Mexican background music, several TVs and a full bar. I also noticed two patio areas outside. The menu included Mexican favorites, seafood, lunch specials and a menu for the kiddos."
"I love finding a great Thai food restaurant! With Thai Place, you can't go wrong. We swung by on a Tuesday night for an impromptu dinner. We were sat immediately and had very prompt and attentive service throughout the meal. I highly recommend the Pad Thai, yellow curry, & yellow fried rice. The dumplings and crab rangoon also earned honorable mentions. I'm typically a mild spice level girlie but I did try out my friend's medium pad Thai. While spicy, it was manageable!"

"Our visit to Viva Tequila and Tacos was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service that made us feel right at home. The food was incredibly fresh and bursting with authentic flavors that transported our taste buds straight to Mexico. Each dish was a delightful masterpiece, perfectly complemented by their exquisite selection of tequilas. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. If you're looking for a place that combines great service, delicious food, and a lively ambiance, Viva Tequila and Tacos is the place to be. Highly recommended!"
"Service was great. Our waitress Crystal went above and beyond to give us wonderful service. The food was fresh. I felt as if I was back in my home state of Texas eating off the coast"
"The food was very yummy, the restaurant, restrooms, and food area were very clean, the people who work here (and I think the owners) were very kind and accommodating. They had good variety for an Asian buffet, which I have partaken in many where we were from in San Diego. We came in with a group of seven, including four young children, and they were so helpful and patient with us. Plus there was something yummy to eat for everyone. My seven year- old said she wants to live here , which is saying something because she is very picky."
"I loved visiting Brix. I got the chilaquiles verdes, the golden colada drink and dragon kiss. I might be bias, but chilaquiles were the best I've had here in KC. If you are looking for a place with great cocktails, amazing food and the perfect ambiance, highly recommend visiting!"
"Good service and pricing is good. You get a great amount of food. You also get the option of getting double fries instead of the Cole slaw. I got the catfish fillet combo and double fries with a drink. Total was $9 rounded up. They actually do serve catfish when you order it unlike some places. The only thing was the food was a very salty. I would say go without the extra seasoning they put on top."
"Food is consistently good. Nice cozy atmosphere. Servers are attentive. Bathrooms are also very clean and the windows!"
"Louisiana Seafood and Sushi Station are now both closed in their location in the strip mall at 23rd Street and Louisiana. Their successor is Concept 23 at 1606 West 23rd Street a few blocks west of the location of the former to restaurants. I will post a separate four star review for that new restaurant."
"Great first experience at this quaint new place! The staff was incredibly speedy & attentive. The margaritas are delicious - I had a frozen strawberry and my companion had lime on the rocks. The strawberry and mild without being too sweet, and a line had a nice tartness and a bite to it. I preferred mine. She preferred hers. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. We got a complementary sample of the white cheese dip and it was great too! Wish I'd have taken pictures of anything, but I was too busy enjoying the experience documented at the time. Highly recommend. I will be back. I suggest you check it out too."
"I can be picky about my Chinese takeout. First and foremost the place needs to be clean. Secondly the taste has to be worth the drive (even if they offer delivery).I could go on about this dish or that dish, but instead I'll say everything I've eaten has been hot, fresh, and very flavorful. I absolutely recommend this place."
"Sometimes the dining stars align. Not all who wander through Parkville are lost but find themselves at Cafe Des Ami's doorstep by happy happenstance. With no reservations on a Friday night and 5 minute wait we were ushered to the outdoor dining area. Sublime breeze and a tree house like feel. Candles lit, wine sipped as we chatted with our young hostess. It's a family ran business and our hostess is first generation and her parents both French are busy taking care of patrons too. They go back to Paris every year and she's having a great first week back to school. Beef short ribs and a Le Creuset filled with mussels, shrimp, salmon in creamy wine sauce arrive. Both are divine and we leave no morsel behind thanks to the hot bread. Everything about the experience is thoughtful, meant to be enjoyed thoroughly. I almost felt bad snapping the image of it all, but just almost. It was a night worth remembering and eagerly look forward to repeating it."

We loved this place! The service was great, the menu is huge! The decor is fun! Good/standard prices, too.I ordered the #15 combo: enchilada and burrito. I got a cheese and onion enchilada and the pork burrito. Delicious! I also got the house margarita. It was as good, or better, than other house margaritas that I have had at other places. Restaurants haven't lasted well in this location and I'm not sure why. Let's support this place and make sure it never goes away!

Experience was wonderful-- from the kind host to our server, to a gorgeous indoor and outdoor setting, and a huge menu with tons of delicious and unique menu items and great prices! We had the 3 frozen margarita flight special- around $11 on Mondays-- Texas rice, Texas style (chicken, shrimp, and steak all great!), and the taco salad with romaine added! Salsa was delicious- they offer to put cheese sauce on everything.. definitely worth checking out! Ample parking, great date night spot! Also loved all of the flight options- from taquito flights to taco flights- so creative!

I went to Las Islas Marias for lunch today. As soon as you are seated you are greeted by a waiter/waitress with water, salsa (hot and mild) and a small bowl of ceviche. I went with 2 coworkers who are hispanics. They both ordered before I did and then I followed by ordering shrimp quesadillas. They were very good and flavorful. I also ordered a bowl of queso that never showed up nor did it show up on my bill, so I am not sure if the waiter understood English very well or not. However, the meal that I ordered (from the appetizer list) was just enough to fill me up and send me on my way satisified.I would love to go back and try something on the entree list. It all looks so fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We checked out this new spot the other day and wow was I blown away by all the amazing food options! We ordered everything our waiter suggested. We started with the shrimp and potatoes which absolutely melted in my mouth. Next we ordered the Lomo Saltado which was ribeye steak with seared veggies and baked potatoes, red onions, and Brix sauce mix. We also split the Birria-dilla that came with a homemade salsa roja. And lastly we tried the stuffed churros for dessert! Everything was delicious and I will be back to check out their speakeasy that is hidden in the back of the restaurant.

"Women Rule the World and this spot was so welcoming from the staff to the ambiance to the flavors. The beer, wine and sake list had all we needed to start off a great dinner. Apps were hot and quick and the entrees, especially the Panang Curry Veg, was full of great spice. Lovely spot to meet some friends and family!"
"We love Red Crab Boils Mussels. The serving is large and we love the flavor. You can choose spicy or not. Fast service if you do take out - order in advance and pick up and the people are always friendly.Definitely will go back for more."
"It was fun restaurant to try out unfortunately we didn't expect our food to take an entire hour to cook. We were told that the owner/chef cooks everything to order which would amount to the time we arrived at 7:30pm got food at 8:30pm. Everything else was self serve on soda/water, paper products and ketchup. They have 4 ordering/paying machines like McDonalds. Menu prices were good, fish dinner w/2 sides for $16. Children dinners for $5. Desserts for $5-$8. Wanted to the red beans and rice but not for $15 an order. No liquor license yet but others brought their own liquor in to drink. No band playing tonight had a small setup in corner. Mixture of tables and table/booths, 4 large TV's on wall, & small room in back. Very clean. Would go back if we ordered in advance."
"The only thing that dimmed our experience at Jarocho was the wildly uncomfortable blue light emitted from the daylight bulbs that the restaurant has. That being said, the ceviches we had were probably the best I've ever had, and I have spent nearly a year of my life (on and off) working and living in Mexico. The shrimp gumbo was perfect. The server was attentive, accommodating (we asked to be moved to a table with warm light bulbs, which they have at some tables) and super smiley and helpful with great suggestions. Again, the only complaint from this is one I have with ANY restaurant that uses daylight bulbs. They ruin the warmth and the aesthetic of any and all restaurants. I feel petty putting it in a yelp review, but I sincerely think that Jarocho could up its numbers with this simple change; and I would love it if this place could exist forever."
"Chapala is about 8 miles from where I live and I've had the opportunity to eat here multiple times. I've had everything from the nachos to enchiladas, Speedy Gonzalez to quesadillas, burritos, tacos, and most everything else. And I don't make multiple return visits to restaurants where I don't enjoy the food and the service. The restaurant is tucked away down what appears to be an industrial street where you wouldn't expect to find a sit-down restaurant. Because of this you won't accidentally discover it while you're out on a Saturday afternoon drive. I'm certain the location hurts their business as it has other failed restaurants that have occupied the same space in the past. But if you go to the trouble of finding it, you'll be happy you did. There are a few "Mexican" restaurants in this area of town, but this is a "Tex-Mex" restaurant, which I prefer. I won't go into describing each individual item on the menu, I'll just say the food is solid Tex-Mex. I lived in Houston and San Antonio for a total of 10 years, so I know what Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like. Chapala could definitely hold their own in South Texas. I think you should give it a try."
"The food was great! I ordered the Butter Chicken and I was surprised how much food came with it. Normally I don't get full while eating, but I was full after finishing my meal. It comes with soft Basmati rice as well which pairs well with the juicy, delicious chicken. The service was great as they were very attentive to our water and our food. They checked in several times which I appreciated. The ambiance inside the restaurant was relaxing and the music was below normal talking volume which I appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. I definitely recommend everyone to come here and try out their food options! I will be coming back!"
"Omg if you haven't been to the truck YOUR missing out!!! If you're in town and want great seafood or something different come here please."
"This review is for the 5101 Ararat Dr location in the old Pizza Hut building. Placed my order online but didn't receive a confirmation #.There were 2 women at the front counter. The older lady personality was like a prison guard, the younger lady had aSweet personality BUT need to be trained on good customer service.they told me they hadn't received my on line order. I called my credit card who told me the charge was posted to my charge account already. The prison guard checked again and found my order. After 45 minutes of listening to nightclub level explicit lyrics (suck my d**ck, f::ck you b?tch) my food was ready. Forget to mention they ran out of greens and potato salad. The cooks and front staff kept having conversations about lack of food. heard the cooks say "we are suppose to run out of food" LOL.The whole catfish, chicken wings, sweet potatoes and green beans was good but the hamburger was ok at best.Food probably would have taste better with out all the before mention nonsense. This is a nice place in a good location. Would love to see it Succeed."
"Excellent service and a great selection of foods; dumplings, rice dishes, noodles, soups, and sticky rice. Also, great mocktails (every cocktail has an NA version!)"
"What a wonderful find in a small town. The restaurant was full of local workers, a great sign that the food is good. The mural on the entrance is cute. The ice is the great barrel kind. I was one of a party of four. We all really enjoyed our lunch. Chicken chimichanga was good. Lunch (mixed) fajitas had more meat than veggies and was really good! The quesabirria (daily special) was so delicious. And I really enjoyed the enchiladas Suizas. I will stop here when I travel in the future."
"Haven't even gotten to dinner yet. They brought me a bowl of bouillabaisse to start for my birthday after great cocktails. So cozy, so friendly and they are right there when we need them. Kinda built our own seafood tower on the way soon. I'd be shocked if it isn't awesome. I was right. The vastness of the outstandingness was huge. Eat here."
"I previously lived in Lawrence (roughly 8 years ago) & this was my favorite Chinese place in all of Lawrence. Mostly because it was super tasty but also because they served large portions at a cheap price. Yummy & affordable, a broke college students dream. While visiting Lawrence this weekend, we decided to be lazy on Sunday night & order chinese. I was super excited to see that China House was still operating. But even more excited when we got our food & I discovered it tasted the exact same as it did 8 years ago. Hallelujah! The shop itself is unassuming. It's just your typical Chinese restaurant inside a strip mall. It's definitely not a place you go for a fancy dinner. But, if you're looking for a great tasting, affordable meal with a generous portion. This place is it!"
"Five star service from Amanda who was welcoming, full of recommendations and attentive with taking care of us for dinner this evening. It's a busy restaurant but at a booth, it was quiet enough for my friend and I to talk, dine and enjoy dinner.A LOT of food was consumed this evening. Fried ravioli were excellent with a marinara sauce for dipping. Calamari was hot and crisp and delicious. For main course, I chose the Chicken Agee, which was served in a piccata sauce with provel cheese and crushed red pepper. Just a little heat and it was delicious.Amanda tried to get us to order dessert but after a two appetizers, two beers and a main course? Yeah, that's not happening.Sorry, no photographs of dinner. The interior lighting made everything very red and not photogenic.[Review 19747 overall - 224 in Missouri - 719 of 2023.]"
"The menu offers many tempting selections. The pork shank was fabulous. The view was outstanding. The service was so, so. Very slow and our waitress seemed a bit confused at times. We will be going back again. Making sure we have a different server."
"Found this spot when our first pick was closed. A great find! Food was really good! Interesting- not just standard Mexican food menu- The woman who waited on us was very friendly and answered questions easily. The portions of what we ordered were very generous. It is a small space, but brightly colored and has a good vibe. Our nephew said they are newly opened, and I hope everyone gives them a try. They'll be my first stop next time in Lawrence."
"Well, where do I start? I think service has definitely improved since it appears they have a new management which is a middle aged gentleman with a southern accent who doesn't put up with any slacking! However, when the cat is away the mice they do play! I went in the other evening, last Wednesday around 7:15 pm and took my daughter who was visiting for the holidays from Colorado and Captain D's was a favorite of hers from her childhood. There were 6 of us for dine in and all the chairs had been put up on the tables and needless to say they were not happy to see us. Not a word other than us providing our order was spoken. When our order was ready which took over 23 minutes a lady from the counter screamed it was ready! Also seeing as we had 6 people we all had to squeeze into one booth as the employees were all sitting around the one 8 top table playing on their phones!!"
"What a find! We stayed in Salina on our way back to Denver and were pleasantly surprised at what a great, old school, family Italian restaurant this is! Our waiter was the owner's nephew and he did a great job. The food was outstanding and the price/portion ratio was the way an Italian restaurant should be. I got the 1/4 order spaghetti and one meatball and my wife got the stuffed mushrooms (amazing) and a 1/4 order chop salad. All delicious! Loved this place and we will go out of our way to come back."
"Nice folks, pho was nicely flavored. Skimpy on beef, but that seems to be the norm hereabouts. I know beef's expensive, but I'd rather pay a couple bucks more for a decent amount of beef."
"Stopped in here after flying in to meet some friends. The drinks were good, the food was delicious, the service was great, & the restaurant was clean. Would visit here again!"
"My sister has tried it a few times and recommended I give it a shot. Definitely worth it! Convenient ample parking, clean lobby with seating. Nice space. I ordered on line and food was ready at the time they promised. Food was hot, plentiful and full of flavor! Staff was kind and courteous and appreciative of my business."
"Terrific, food, and great service!Ambience is wonderful too.I go for the Italian food, but if you have somebody in the family that loves steak, this is the place!"
"That was some of the thinnest whiting I've ever had. Since it was so thin it was over cooked. Unimpressed. The fries were good."
"This is a small family owned place that is dated inside and out. First impression might cause you to think it's a little sketchy. I have been multiple times, and every time the food on the buffet is really fresh and hot. The quality is surprisingly good.It does seem to have less flavoring and spice than some other Chinese places, but if you like less spice this may be your perfect spotThere are not a lot of options on the buffet, but when the food is prepared continually in small portions so it stays fresh it didn't bother me not having more choices.Since it's close and convenient I will continue to go. If I was not close, I probably would never go out of my way to eat here."
