Jamie N J. "I'm a beginner and I have loved their process of introducing the exercises through private sessions and classes. I haven't felt lost or left out during the classes and every instructor has been amazing. I was looking for low impact workouts that meet me where I am and don't rely on flexibility, as that's a weakness of mine. I have felt safe with every exercise - no injury concerns. Budget friendly for newbies as well."

Jamie J. "I think that everyone has been discouraged a time a two when searching for a solid workout studio which then ruins your motivation to work out. All I can say is this place is awesome! They offer so many types of classes and a full range of times for those with busy and/or random schedules. The very first class I took was 3 weeks ago with Megan, and her R.I.P.P.E.D. workout kicked my ass but she knows how to keep pushing you without being pushy. I was SO SORE that next day, but I was excited to check out the different classes they had to offer and I lived to tell about it. I'm starting my 3rd week of workouts and I actually looking forward to sweating and working my ass off! It's also nice seeing that the instructors actually learn your name. There's no harm in trying it out!"

Angela S. "I cannot say enough good things about Better Bodies Pilates! I was very skeptical going in for the first time. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money on 3 solo sessions. I am SO THANKFUL that I did. Pilates has changed my life and my body. Honestly, I think of it as a hybrid between physical therapy and a work out. I have pain in my back, neck, and shoulders. I've been to a physical therapist and chiropractors. Nothing helped. As for work outs, I have had several personal trainers. Nothing worked. Until Pilates! Becky is amazing on so many levels! She really listens to the client and comes up with the best plan, which is tailored to meet that particular client's needs. I strongly recommend that, if you are new to Pilates, you book the solo introductory package. It is well worth the money!"

Karen S. "I have been to several classes at New Movement and have loved every one! I am fairly new to Pilates, and every instructor I've had (Kim, Johnna and Kristin) have been super helpful and motivating. The reformer classes are kept pretty small, so you get a great deal of individual attention and help as needed. we also do a variety of exercises and the hour classes go by super fast. I am expecting and every instructor has been great about making sure I am comfortable, and giving me good tips about exercises that are particularly helpful for my pre-natal self! In fact, Kim has even added a pre/post-natal class that is wonderful! This is a great addition to the neighborhood, and I think I've actually found a type of exercise that I enjoy enough to do on a regular basis!"

Physically the studio is a great space: lots of light, clean, and well maintained.Lauren, the owner, took me through various movements, paying close attention to how my body responded. It felt great to move my entire body. The time went fast, though the session itself was not fast-paced. I was able to take all the time I needed.I'm definitely going back!"

I started it outside and then I went inside after I started breaking a sweatRuthann is an awesome yoga coach and it was super beneficial for me as a beginner but she also had lots of opportunities for the more advanced to practice as well. It really did make me want to start doing yoga again. Very inspirational and motivating"

"It's been too long since I had time or money to visit Linda and the wonderful staff at Plaza Wellspring, but I don't see them listed here and so I'm adding them, because I think they're wonderful. After my first child was born, Lee Ann helped whip my body into the best shape I'd EVER been in. I felt so strong and it was FUN! Pilates classes on the reformer are truly unbelievable. (Now I've had a second child and I need to go see them again!!)Fast results, soothing atmosphere, easy to park. I wish it was a little less expensive, but that is my only complaint. The mat classes are excellent as well! Check the schedule on their site."

Hope M. "Low impact and HIGH Intensity workouts happen every time I have a class at Pure Barre! I decided to try out a free class and couldn't believe how much my muscles were engaged and the movements led through that I had never done previously. I had tried pure barre in college a couple times but I'm so glad I tried out Pure Barre again at this location. I bought a membership and have already taken 6 classes. I've also experienced a class with every instructor. The classes are challenging but you can go at your own pace, strength and ability. Every instructor is attentive and wants you to feel the burn while focusing on doing the movements correctly and to the best of your ability. Their corrections always help me feel the burn in my muscles better, stronger and supported! By the way you never are wondering 'when is class over?' because your constantly moving and focusing on the next move so the class time flys by. The classes go by so fast and their cool downs get that last burn while incorporating stretching throughout the 50 min. The equipment they have is always clean and ready to go for picking up before the start of class. As a beginner I've enjoyed the challenge and appreciate their patience with my beginner skills. All other class goers have been congenial and I feel comfortable coming to Pure Barre on a regular basis. Bailey, Rachel, Sarah and Taylor all are very kind, positive and knowledgeable instructors. They definitely have a teamwork mindset and it's great to see the Pure Barre community from their relationships with each other and growing connections with their class goers. They greet me every time and want to know your name/get to know you. Thanks Pure Barre, I'm so glad your in the KC Plaza!"

Mari M. "I have been taking various classes from Barbara for several years. She's very good at being an instructional teacher of Yoga, Pilates and Feldenkrais. I've been to other venues where sometimes there is an approach of just barking posture names and I think that can be intimidating. I, for one, rarely remember the Sanskrit names of the asanas. I prefer Barbara's method of instruction and performing stretches to get the participant prepared for the goal posture. She's committed to the practice, improving her skills and always trying to get the students to try new and challenging activity. She offers 7-8 week course sessions but you can stop by for one class to sample the variations. Check out her website for the class schedule and go try one out!Namaste."

We met through a mutual acquaintance in LA and I'm with her since. She works with me through FaceTime, call and emails. I must say that at first, I was a little bit skeptical about the success of the whole long distance program but eventually, if you follow her guidance and really have the will to shed the extra pounds and move to an healthier lifestyle, it can be done even with a nutritionist that is on the other side of the planet. Adi is great! She's attentive, caring and great at motivating you to succeed."

I am not a generally fit person or a person that naturally gravitates towards exercise, but I love Jenny's teaching approach and her classes. She is extremely approachable for beginners, but she definitely works you out! Jennifer O. "This is a great little spot just hiding in plan site. The outside of the business says Fitness Alliance. (Duh)Everything is all in one building. Kinda a neat concept if you ask me. I'm only gonna mention the parts of the facility I've used. They have a full gym with trainers, physical therapists, chiropractics, nutritionists, and Pilates. Just to name a few. Every "special" has its own room or area. Makes it so very convenient that it is all in one spot.I do Pilates there with an instructor named Erin Ward. You can find her at eilateswitherin.com. She does Pilates with mats or the reformers. She has classes for all ages. It has been a great experience for someone like me that doesn't love the word exercise. I've never been able to stick with it. I Have been doing Pilates now for over 3 years with Erin. She does private lessons or group lessons. She is a one of a kind instructor. No words can describe this lady. To say she's a positive person just doesn't quite say enough. She's very knowledgeable about her field. She works around what ever time works for you!!Some of the ladies in my class also go to physical therapy after class. It's so nice for them because they just walk down the hall after class. If you haven't heard of this spot before. You should definitely check it out. Everyone is very friendly and just want the best for each person that steps through the door!!"

The instructors are all very kind, knowledgable, and make it a welcoming space for everyone. It doesn't matter where you are at in your pilates journey or what your strength level is, the instructors will work with you and let you take it at a pace you are comfortable with. I have a injury that has limited me with other types of exercises, but as long as you let your instructor know before class, they will make modifications to accommodate you. While Pilates is low impact, you will notice the toning of muscles you wouldn't normally workout with other exercises! Highly recommend coming here!"

Lots of room, some resistance bands w handles, stretching area, Stairmasters and treadmills. Plenty of machines although they are generally not very new and some are kind of slow and creaky. Free weights here go well above 100lbs that I recall."
