"Where do I even begin? We had just a 28 person wedding including us, the bride and groom... Sounds simple, right? Well, we complicated it by marrying alllll the way out at Powell Gardens, and then doing to reception alllll the way back in town at Lidia's. Lots of driving! In addition to that, it was important to us (ok mostly me) to have a Zero Waste wedding- with stations set up all over the house/venues for waste to go to recycling, compost, Terracycle, burn-ables for our fire pit, etc. etc. It required a lot more work, and LaTasha helped to make it happen!LaTasha was CONSTANTLY on her feet, thinking ahead, anticipating my needs, conducting our rehearsal (we didn't know what the hell we were doing!!), picking up breakfast for us on the big day, wrangling folks for photos, collaborating with the photographer, making our yummy but somewhat boring looking cake POP with flowers and handmade bird toppers, video-ing all the toasts... I mean seriously, what can't she do?! She even helped me sneak a nerf bullet into my bestie-of-honor's bouquet so that I could surprise the groom with a silly inside joke during our vows when I handed him a flower with the nerf bullet tied to the stem... GOT HIM!!!Everyone in our families and close friend group admired LaTasha's hard work and cheerful can-do attitude. She fit right into the energy of our big day. She thinks of EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved working with her, and the amount of stress she saved me was just so impactful- my main goal for the weekend was to direct all our guests' well-meaning logistical questions to her, so that I didn't have to think or make decisions- I could just divorce my phone for the day and be present. It was one hell of a weekend. It would not have been as breezy and fun without LaTasha there to guide things."
"We used Affordable Elegance Catering for our wedding last month. They were AMAZING! Everybody commented on how great the food was. Dee-Dee and her staff was an absolute pleasure to work with. From beginning to end they kept in contact with us to make sure our big day was perfect. We would recommend Affordable Elegance to anyone looking for a caterer. Thank you so much!!"
"She's amazing. Nida made me feel welcome, comfortable, safe and excited about the process. She was knowledgeable and insightful about her craft. She showed me tons of designs but accommodated my desire to change it up a little. She's COVID-19 conscious (face mask, sanitized tools, etc.) which ensured our safety. Couldn't be happier, and received so many compliments so I plan to become a regular."
"We did Bump & Bounce for my daughter's 11th birthday party, and it was a blast. RJ was great to work with, and was able to set up the event around our preferred location & timing. All the girls had a great time!"
"On time every time! They are the nicest folks with amazing customer service. We use them for most of our events and they never disappoint. The flavors are delicious and there is quite a variety. They also supplied everything we would need, besides the alcohol. We added our own and it was a hit. I'm sure it'll be the same at your party. After our event was nearly finished, we called them and they came to pick the machine up. Easy peasy!!!"
"This place is so much fun! I signed my daughter up for a single class so we could see if it's something she would enjoy. She loved it! The class was small (8 kids? Ages 6-12ish?), so she got plenty of attention from the instructor. The instructor was absolutely perfect for this type of class. Laid back, good attitude, and you could tell she really enjoys her job. Very good with the kids and keeping things running smoothly. The kids were at different levels, some were taking their first class and others were more experienced. The class still flowed nicely and allowed all the kids to work at their own pace and level. They offer classes for all ages and abilities here. They offer spring break and summer camps as well. Definitely check them out if you get a chance! You know you've been curious about exactly what is in that geodesic dome house off i35 and Lamar ;) Now you can find out!"
"Kim was an excellent instructor. There was a party of 13 and she did and exceptional job. We painted the lady clause with the Afro. Some of our backgrounds, hair, accessories, etc were different than others but we were all able to keep up.I am glad that I gave Wine & Design another chance."
"Tried out Myers via a Groupon and am so happy with the photography package. Allison was very friendly and professional with creative ideas for our engagement photo shoot around the University of Kansas campus. Loved the deal we got, including trademark releases so we can print as many pictures as we want. Great quality CD of pictures with previews sent to us promptly was above my expectations. Will definitely consider their photography and DJ services in the future."
"The Beck is a fantastic event space with even better people running it. Jill was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was so helpful and accommodating, including going above and beyond when our caterer fell through. It is a perfect combination of a great facility and great people to work with. I would highly recommend the Beck Event Space."
"Once Upon A Time is a Personal Assistant and Concierge Service - they do lots of things but I use them mostly for every day errands and to sit at the house during repairs and services. I have also used their service when traveling which is fantastic because when you come home, you can just go about your routine (you don't have to go and pick up your mail, or go to the grocery store, or tidy up the house because these things have already been done for you.)I cannot say enough nice things about Once Upon A Time."
"If you are planning a wedding, read this FIRST!I am a high functioning OCD type of person, and when we decided to get married with only 2 and a 1/2 months notice I went into overdrive planning. We identified a location and starting tasking friends and contacting vendors within a week, but I quickly started to get overwhelmed with the amount of effort. I was trying to juggling working full time, traveling for work and planning a wedding with next to no notice when my best friend begged me to find a day-of wedding coordinator. I turned to trusty Yelp to help me out and was sad to see the lack of reviews for wedding vendors. However, I did find one review for Buffee Ann and saw I could contact her for a quote. She quickly replied and when I decided not to move forward was sweet in her response to my poor life choices. Only a few days later I changed my mind and she encouraged me to skype with her before making another bad decision. I am so glad I did! From the start Buffee was energetic and encouraging while also allowing my strong personality to dictate as much as I could of the planning process. I have to say at the end of the day, hiring Buffee to help me out was the BEST IDEA EVER!If you're planning a wedding, get help from the very start. Buffee offered suggestions for vendors after we ran into challenges with a few of ours, and we realized she would have been a savior if we had used her from day 1. She worked with our bartending service to help resolve a difficult issue and found me someone to help with my hair (which received numerous compliments). Buffee even offered to add some much needed make-up to my very ungirly self. To say she was a fairy godmother would be an understatement. If you're looking for help with planning anything, go no further. Buffee Ann will take care of you, be your cheerleader, and provide excellent suggestions for local vendors."
"Zero painting experience? Not one single creative bone? Your people drawings look like sticks? Not any more. You will walk away having had as great time and a masterpiece to prove it. This guided painting class is such a great idea for birthdays, girls night, family night, date night or with a friend. Everything was set up, paint, brushes, easel and smock just in case you or your neighbor get a little crazy with the paint. Staff are amazing and guide the group from start to finish with a little break in between. They do have specials, like buy one get one free deals running. Plenty of room, fun music play list, really amazing teacher and staff. Love the theme of Fall right now, it's like a Pinterest project that I actually do ok at. Looking forward to the next class:)"

My name is Krissy Power and I am the Event Sales Coordinator at Tiffany Greens Golf Club. I had the pleasure of working alongside Latasha this weekend at a wedding held at our clubhouse. Not only was Latasha organized and on the ball at all times, but she was calm, cool, and collected, and was able to diffuse any and all mini crises that would naturally occur on your wedding day. She had a resolution to everything, and it is an understatement to say that she totally impressed me this weekend. Do yourself a favor and hire Latasha. You will not regret it!!!!! :)

We were beyond happy with Affordable Elegance. They were amazing!! They went out of their way to make sure the day was perfect. The reception venue would not allow us to drop off cheese/fruit trays the morning of our wedding because they did not have anywhere to store them until that evening. Affordable Elegance brought the trays down for us and it was ready to go when cocktail hour started. They were so easy and friendly to work with. They service at the reception was professional and everything went smoothly. They served over 350 people at our wedding and everyone had plenty of food! I recommend AE to anyone getting married in the Kansas City area!

Nida is a talented and exquisite henna artist. I myself have dabbled at this art and let me tell you she makes it look easy. She is absolutely stunning with her work. Some things I'd like to make you, the customer, aware of: this art form is difficult to give a ballpark price due to many variables. Depending on the placement, size, what design you choose etc. with that being said I would highly recommend that you make a phone call and talk with Nida. She will work with you to get what you want and be able to then give you a more accurate price estimate. Also paying the deposit is how she holds your appointment! That deposit goes towards the total price, all of this is on her website but I figured I'd help out Nida was understanding, helpful and flexible with my sister and myself. The amount of behind the scenes time and effort she puts into your design on top of the time spent creating your henna design is a lot! I hope I'm able to hire Nida again because this was a very special memory that I will cherish for my sister and myself. These photos were taken right after Nida finished the session! I'll try to add more photos after 48/72 hrs.

We had a great time at restorative aerial yoga. Truly need to be athletic to do this but we did our best. Been sore the entire week. Will be back to try again later in my fitness journey. Teacher and owner was lovely and kind in her instruction, experience was definitely worth it and enjoyed the easier stretches.

"This was a great space for the 40+ person volunteer event I attended. Enter Burg & Barrel's door, turn right, and you are in the event space. There was a small bar area staffed by Burg & Barrel, a nice seating area with a large screen for event photos or videos, and a restroom. The full bar and food menus of Burger & Barrel were available, along with their friendly staff. Very nice!"
"We used Stevens business for a wedding. He was wonderful! He gave us a list to fill out for songs, there are so many you forget about. And he even agreed to stay longer then his contract so my attendees paid for that and partied the night away! Highly recommend!"
"Hitched Planning + Floral was super easy to work with and made my wedding the most elegant and beautiful it could be. I really enjoyed working with Jessica and Emily. They are both really creative and good listeners. I shared a Pinterest board of different weddings and floral I liked and they were able to quickly figure out my aesthetic and propose bouquets and floral arrangements that were just what I wanted. Meeting with them their beautiful Westside storefront was always fun and very relaxing. I highly recommend them for weddings and other events!"
"My boyfriend took me here on Valentine's day for a couple's painting class. We arrived 15 minutes early and after confirming our reservation for the class, were instructed to grab some aprons and take a seat wherever we liked. They encourage you to bring drinks and snacks to enjoy while you're painting, but my boyfriend and I were so focused on painting that we didn't even go for the candy that they had laid out for Valentine's day.The paintings that we would be working on that night were already outlined by the staff beforehand so that we would have guidelines to work with. The instructor walked us through the process of creating the painting step by step and walked around the class offering help to those that needed it. (I would definitely recommend sitting closer to the front if you're going to be asking for a lot of help so that it's easier for her to get to you.) She was enthusiastic throughout the whole two hour long class, and encouraged everyone to get a picture with their work before they left.At the end, they offer glitter for you to add to your paintings, and let you blow dry it to make sure it's ready to take home. Overall, it was a really great experience, and I would definitely come back in the future!"
"Larissa was BORN to plan events!! She thinks of EVERY detail you would never dream of and is very meticulous of every detail. She stays calm during the craziness of it all and is extremely organized. She has a great sense of trending designs and décor. I highly recommend her for any event you need!"
"Carnival Guy Party Rentals is refreshing to work with. Most party rental places in these here parts are pretty much self entitled way overpriced mad at the world type of people. Probably because they were pretty much all that was available for tooooo long. So any Carnival Guy responds quickly, and they are priced very fair, and their polite!!! Thanks Carnival Guy for opening up shop in Topeka!!!"
"Chappelow Events offers the ultimate in client service. From planning to design to execution, Beth and the Chappelow Events team made sure that the charity event we were hosting was as perfect as it could possibly get. With creativity and an eye (and passion) for detail, Beth and her team work seamlessly to ensure that your event goes great from the day you start planning until the last guest has left. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and will certainly use them again for future event planning needs."
"What a darling, innovative, and much needed service for the KC area. My husband surprised my daughter and I with a spa day and we had a blast! We had a private appointment that included a manicure for us both and a cupcake facial for my daughter. The owner worked on my daughter and a teenager did my nails. My manicure was definitely not professional but it didn't matter to me because I knew this would be more for the experience! We were served a fancy drink with cotton candy on top and my daughter left with accessories and a goody bag of more treats. I would recommend this to anyone! Such a fun time for us and would look into having a birthday party here in the future."
"We stayed a single night in the Owners Suite. The place was very clean and quiet. The owners were very polite and helpful and made you feel right at home. We will be visiting them again and often."
"What a great little quiet movie theater in the heart of historic downtown Leavenworth. The prices are great and they give discounts for military and seniors. The concessions are always full of items and they are much cheaper than your average movie theater. Everything has always been super clean and movies show on time. Support your local businesses!"
"This place is beautiful, our wedding and reception turned out perfect. We cannot say enough nice things about Laurie either. She is the sweetest person, she knows what she's doing and really helped our day be as special as it was. If you want a memorable place to have your wedding or reception, a baby shower or any other event THIS IS YOUR PLACE."
"Don't go and expect to sit back and be entertained. This is very socially interactive. You get as much fun out of it as you put in. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something different. Dining was pretty informal, but the food was good."
"Went to the Easter Glow party at the infield in Parkville. The KC Bubble crew was amazing! My kids had the best time. They really liked the giant net bubbles and the smoke bubbles! It would be awesome to have them come out for a birthday or church event!"
"Oprah would ask "what do you know for sure?" and I would reply "Kansas City has some of the finest florist around and Beco Flowers in one of the reasons why!". Ok ok, I hope I would have a better answer if the Big O ever personally asked me that question, but for the sake of this review, that is my answer. I have seen several of their arrangements sent to friends or co-workers in the past and have always been in awe of the style and beauty of their work. I find it extremely important to utilize the talent of some of our best florists in town when sending an arrangement to a loved one. There is artistic skill and quality of work (and product) that stands above the average tele-floral or supermarket florist that I think is worth the price that you pay. I have also walked by Beco's storefront on many a First Fridays and have always loved looking through the windows into their lovely showroom floor. When the occasion called for me to order an arrangement recently, I was happy to give them a try. I was thrilled to walk through the doors to find two big hairy lovers walking the floor and greeting me. No, not the sales associate but two big o dogs, I'm a sucker for dogs in the work place so that was a big bonus for me. The showroom floor isn't packed with much retail merchandise, but is just a nice visual display room that doubles as a small art gallery. Really nice touch since they are in the Crossroads. They pulled my arrangement up to the counter and it was beautiful, appropriate and worth every penny. I look forward to using them in the future and encourage anyone looking for a top notch florist for any given occasion, to give Beco Flowers a try."
"Bought a permanent bracelet and within a week it had fallen off. Owners refused to replace and instead offered me 50% off another "permanent bracelet." So basically I paid $32 for a bracelet to wear 7 days and break. So disappointing. If you claim the jewelry is permanent, you should replace if it breaks and falls off esp within this first few months. Would not recommend."
"Here's my update...Tammy didn't let me down. The businesses she brought in were stellar. So many people were asking me about their information throughout the night. You will not be disappointed if you book an event with Tammy."
"Came here on a blustery March day for a business meeting. One of the other party we were meeting with had made the arrangements, so I was only an attendee. The place was nice, comfortable and the staff that I briefly interacted with were both pleasant and professional. All the requests that I new of were promptly and politely taken care of. So, for a participant, I enjoyed it. Also, they had drinks and snacks which were all top notch. Finally, we had a catered lunch. It was a solid meal. Not great, but probably top notch for what I would expect a catered hotel meal to be like. If you are looking for fine dining, you're in the wrong category. For an event space, it hit the mark."
"I can't recommend Decemeber from Soirée Event Designs high enough! We were planning our wedding ceremony and events on our own up until a month and a half prior to the date. As the date became closer, we started to feel a bit overwhelmed with all the details. I received Decemeber's information from a friend, and from our first interaction, she was a true professional!Because we were less than two months from our wedding, Decemeber moved to schedule our face-to-face meeting quickly. The introduction discussion was well organized and she walked me through all of our vendor details, wedding party, must-haves, etc. My fiancé and I thought we had covered all our bases, but it was obvious after our discussion that there were many other details we needed to address. Decemeber made this feel like a breeze, and immediately helped wrap up finishing touches and assembled a "day-of" timeline. She began coordinating directly with our vendors, to eliminate the stress from the groom and me.Because of all the work Soirée did up front, the day of our wedding was well executed, relaxed and most importantly fun! As the bride, I didn't have to worry about who needed to be where and when. Decemeber had all of this outlined for us. She even found a new hairstylist two weeks before the wedding, after I decided to make a last minute change! From the first phone call with Decemeber to giving her a hug at the end of our wedding reception, she made wedding planning a stress-free process and our day was executed to perfection! (And if there was a hiccup, she handled it and we never knew) On top of her professionalism, Decemeber is a joy to work with to plan a major event."
"When I hear she was planning my best friends wedding, I thought we would have help when it came to every step of the way and on the day of. Do not give this business your hard earned money. We had to plan, organize, execute and decorate everything ourselves. The dress rehearsal-they sent a brand new worker to organize the walk through. She didn't have a schedule or anything that had been sent to the business email directing location, timing and setup. We had to figure out everything for ourselves with no aid from this business. We did not meet the owner of this business till it was time for the reception. She was unorganized and broke the decorations that her and her team stuffed into containers after the reception. Her team then came in after the reception and pulled bottles of wine for themselves while acting highly inappropriately. From beginning to end, they are not worth the money you pay them. They will be hopeless in communication, silent when you are distressed, and incapable of understanding what it takes to run a proper business. Final note, being unable to help on one of the most important days for a bride and groom should remind you why you started your business. Not to make a quick buck and short change people who relied on you."
"It looks like the other reviews have the aesthetics of the space covered, I'd like to focus my review on the business side of The Guild:I've dealt with a number of event spaces in Kansas City, and from start to finish, working with The Guild was a pleasure. During my initial walk-through, I was spit-balling ideas of how to creatively use the space, and they were excited about every random idea I could come up with, even offering up suggestions on how to make it stand out even more! "Anything is possible, so long as we have time to plan" was the response of one of the owners. I like that attitude. The contract process is quick, easy and straightforward. No hidden clauses or lawyer-speak. They are able to provide a number of services if necessary, from security to tables and linens. But on the flip-side, they don't lock you into "preferred caterers" and all that other BS. They want to help you throw a great event, not help scratch the back of their pre-selected business partners. Again, anything is possible. Having the built in bar makes drink service so much easier, with convenient taps and soda guns. There's an ice machine, something you may not find in more raw spaces. It's great to not have to spend the day of your event trying to figure out how to keep delivered ice frozen. They also gave me huge windows for clean up and break down, another stress reliever. If a gun was held to my head and to pick something about which to complain, I'd have to say parking. Now, don't get me wrong, it exists! They have access to two neighboring lots, and there is incredibly ample street parking. But it seems that some people have it hard-wired into their brains that if it doesn't look like the lot at Wal-Mart, there's no available parking. And unfortunately, when some of these people are going to be your guests, you hear about it. A great big dedicated lot would have made that one less headache. However, for most people this won't be an issue. So check out the other reviews that discuss the (glorious) aesthetics and if that type of space sounds to your liking then I would say book at The Guild, no hesitation!"
"Under the Stars takes your dreams and turns it into a reality. Such a creative and fun idea... these experiences make you feel like you're in another world. A great way to bring a bougie event to you without breaking the bank."
"We tried out many different gyms before we found Flip Zone. They were the best gym by far. Most importantly, my daughter LOVED it. She kept saying "mini-stars, I love mini-stars!" (that's the parent toddler class). Other than that, I really liked the instructor, he had a great deal of experience (had been teaching for probably over 20 years), was genuine, playful, energetic, and very informative. The owners are also wonderful people and very personable. I got to talk with Chad, one of the owners, at length and I love how their philosophy is to have experienced instructors for ALL ages and skill levels (unlike other gyms where they give the lower level gymnasts the inexperienced college-aged instructors). I can't say enough good things about this gym!"
"I was having my daughters grad party and wanted something different to do at our outdoor picnic. I rented large games including jenga, checkers, and connect 4. Everyone enjoyed the games and the company was good to work with in our short timeframe."
