"Friendly. Cozy. Healthy. Looking for a quaint spot to get a healthy meal or snack? Look no further. This is such a great gem in town. The staff here was so friendly and welcoming. The peanut butter protein rounds and avocado toast were so delicious. The Java Butter smoothie was a nice way to round everything out. The oatmeal was unique in a sense that it was not overwhelmingly sweet but had a lot of flavor. Nicely done, yall!"
"City Market Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops in the KC area. They've got all my favorite things -- delicious breakfast burritos, cold pressed juices, and fantastic coffee. I feel like I'm truly "in the city" when I come here, and I love it."
"This used to be old Papa's cafe. Loved the changes. The place looks great. Staff are very friendly. Great selection of baked goods, although I only had a drink. I tried the Cindy Lou Who. I had no idea what it was but the staff described it and it was as delicious as it sounded. They have a variety of milks for everyone's dietary needs."
"We stopped by Gigi's for a quick bite. Our refrigerator out of commission so I was super hungry for a fresh salad my husband wanted a vegan burger. Since it was our first time there, the wait stuff happily explained their menu. My husband is a picky eater and was thrilled with food and especially his vegan burger Can't wait to go back!"
"So... finding this place was unexpected. I was scrolling through my socials the other day and saw a post for a local shop specializing in crepes and ice cream... I made a mental note, and kept on scrolling. Then it showed up again... and again... so I surfed over to their site and saw pictures of DECADENT desserts along with a smattering of savory choices. Honestly, knowing the neighborhood and strip mall where this was located, I wondered if the photos could be accurate. But, there was enough interest that my wife and I went tonight to check it out. The shop is small; only 5 tables and about 12 chairs. There were only two employees working, and both were super friendly, helping us make our selections. We ordered the Gyro Crepe, the Pollo Loco, medium elote, red velvet crepe, and double scoop of ice cream. I expected a rich meal, but what I was not prepared for was the size of the portions. They were HUGE! We brought home more than half of every item! The food arrived slowly, as each item was being made in succession, one at a time. (Like I said, it's a small shop!) The gyro crepe was fine, but not outstanding. The Pollo Loco was very good. The red velvet was rich... very rich! The crepes were thin and light, the fruits were fresh, and the chocolate sauces were thick and DELICIOUS. My wife enjoyed the ice cream a lot, but for me, the star of the evening was the ELOTES! Served off the cob, it was like a parfait of corn, crema, and queso fresco. Topped with cayenne, it was an excellent and creative take on classic elotes. The proportions were spot on. I chatted with the workers again on our way out and asked them if business was going well. They told us they'd only been open about 6 months and said things were good, though recent traffic was much slower than it had been in the summer. If you read many of my reviews, you'll know how much I love it when a small business succeeds, especially in my local community. Here's hoping La Fresca KC has a long and prosperous future!"
"I only found out about this location because of my spanish speaking friends. This restaurant is a dime in a dozen! They have authentic Mexican/Latin-American deserts that I honestly don't even though the names of. Some of the more familiar ones include churros, different types of ice cream, and the infamous fruit cocktail desserts. I decided to branch out and be brave, and got the mangonadas especial. Which was essentially a mango ice cream dessert, smothered in actual mango slices and a spicy chile powder that balanced the sweetness nicely. I can't wait to try this location are more because they have so many great dessert options! Everything is made fresh in front of you and the staff is very friendly."
"My wife told me about Paleta Bar and it was a great place to visit to finish off our night. We went about an hour before close and they were still very busy which gave me some hope that this place would be worth the hype... they are! We tried bars that were with fruit and some without. I created an odd mixture of a coconut bar dipped in dark chocolate, topped with oreo on one half, and tajin on the other half. If the worker who made it reads this review, it was one of those odd mixtures that just works in my opinion. It was sweet and a bit savory, and then you get the creamy from the bar itself. I was surprised to see such a great variety of flavors as well! My wife got a banana bar dipped in milk chocolate, and topped with peanuts. The mixture was just right, it tasted how the Reese's banana slices should taste! If you were on the fence with Paleta Bar, it is definitely worth it!!"
"Great dinner, about $30 for Beef Gyro, chicken salad and gyro fries. 2 people and we couldn't finish it all. Great taste, well seasoned. Love the dressing."
"Main Street Coffee House was a relaxing spot for an afternoon coffee break. The friendly barista helped us decide on a treat from their seasonal menu. The Magically Delicious was a fun (and not super sweet) latte featuring Lucky Charm marshmallows!"
"If you know of a better place to get a strawberry smoothie with boba, please send me a message and let me know! This is quite likely the best I've found in KC. I agree with other commenters that I wish they would tone down their sugar level, but I am deeply impressed at the array of options and the quality of the drinks - the fruit is delightful and the tapioca was perfect. Deeply impressed by our first couple visits, and looking forward to dropping by next time we're in the area."
"This place has come so far. The owners are present and the facilities are excellent. This is a great mix of folks who are looking to get healthier."
"Ordered a pink flamingo dragon fruit bowl ahead on the app for pick up since I had a doctors appointment. Great healthy and fast lunch option. Quality ingredients used. More than enough for one person"

Found this place while browsing KC. Located in the City Market complex. When you walk in you immediately know you are in a coffee shop. The aroma is coffee and the decor has a neat roasterrie vibe.Purchased some whole coffee bean bags of coffee to give away as gifts. There were a variety of blends and there was even a decaffeinated option. The menu is full with coffee options, smoothies, and desserts, wraps, and sandwiches. The food looks all homemade and scrumptious.Hint: Bought 2 bags of coffee and received 2 cups to select drip coffee options which was a surprise and really nice. Coffee is hot and hits the spot!Fair is fair come check this place out. Prices are reasonably priced and they have seating options inside, outside, and upstairs. Come in for a look, stay and enjoy your beverage and support this local establishment.

Finally made it to Gigi's Vegan Wellness Café a month or so ago. Everyone behind the counter was super friendly, delightful and just looked happy to be there. I ordered the Soulful Tacos and Power Protein Smoothie to-go. I actually thought about calling back just to tell them how delicious it was. In addition to the menu, there's a to-go cooler by the register with juices, wraps, etc. Personally, I had written off 'wraps' as a category of food, but the orange wrap drew me in so I grabbed one for later... It was the best wrap I've had - it was not soggy and gummy but more like wrapped lettuce you can eat with your hands. Overall the place and people have a really positive energy and yummy vegan food.

This was our first time at this hidden gem. The atmosphere is bright and cheerful. So many choices of crepes, ice cream, smoothies, waffles, nachos, savory options, sweet options and so much more. We were greeted with a smile and given a run down of the menu. The crepes do take a little longer than most of the menu to create. But they are well worth the wait. My daughter had the churros (choice of chocolate, strawberry or caramel sauce). They were tasty. My son had the pina colada crepe. Tasted just like the drink. My husband had the Le Fresca crepe. And I tried the Spread and top crepe with vanilla creme and pineapple. But was given nutella with strawberries instead. It may not have been what I ordered exactly but it was very tasty. We ended up bringing home leftovers. These are not tiny crepes. We will definitely go back and try more deliciousness.

This place is poppin! I've stopped by twice and both times had lines to the door so be prepared to wait. When you enter inside you're welcomed by bright colored walls and large TVs displaying their menu. Once you get to the counter displaying all of their yummy flavors of ice cream you can order. If you order food you may be given a number to said on the food (I haven't tried their food yet!) If you order churros you'll be directed to the churro counter. Here is where I had my "issues" I had a hard time ordering because the lady I got didn't speak English so she had to find someone else that could help me and even that lady didn't seem too sure. Then when I got to the churros counter the lady there was overwhelmed and in a hurry. I got my churros, took them home (roughly about 10-12 min away) and pulled one out to see all of the fillings had melted through to the end of the bag, it was disappointing. The filling was scorching hot and everything was done in too much of a rush.

Very good popsicles with interesting flavors and topping selection. Service has always been great, and the price is unbeatable compared to other ice cream joints.

Very good & always fresh. Service has always been great as well. I usually place my order online before I pick-up, and it's typically ready when I arrive. Sometimes I may have to wait a couple of mins, but it's usually no longer than that - which is no worries because the food is always hot..I can wait for that. Their truck is usually parked in the same location, which is good bc I know exactly where to go. Convenient if you're Out South/Leawood area. I love their chicken option!

"Never heard of them before and wanted to try it out. very cheap coffee and affordable prices. the staff like to have fun and interact with the customers. coffee is just at the right temperature so as you get it you can drink it right awaywhich i love about it."
"This is my go-to coffee stop with I need a caffeine pick-me-up! Service here is great and the staff is always personable. Love the vibes and of course the coffee!"
"I used to drink iced caramelizer coffee all the time at this place or at any Dutch Brothers. Ice caramelizer is one of my favorite drinks along with golden eagle.I'm glad this location is here.I had to slow down on coffee for right now but just to let you guys know they have all your tea selections I got my ice green tea today : )"
"Great location and fantastic donuts. I make I here a few times per month and the donuts are great each and every time."
"I've been going to Ding Tea ever since they opened in Lawrence, though their hours and having to go downtown are sometimes inconvenient. I remembered reading about Presotea in the LJWorld, though just hadn't been able to try it.Decided to stop it while waiting for my take out from Little Saigon to be ready. The staff were happy to answer my questions about the different milk tea's they offer. The Panda milk tea came with white and black boba, something I'd never tried before, and was quite good. Sugar levels were adjustable (I can't stand 100% sugar in milk tea) and so was the amount of ice.Overall, a pleasant experience! If only they had punch cards like Ding Tea."
"So good! Great to have a healthy option in the area. Wide range of different smoothies that are not all sugar bombs, although they have a few of those too. We got the Emperor Acai smoothie, Age buster smoothie, and Avocado and Egg toast. Me, my husband and even my 3 yo daughter loved it! Clean little shop and the staff is super friendly. Definitely suggest coming here for a healthy breakfast, lunch or snack!"
"So yummy! Fast and polite staff! I love their milk teas with Boba! Definitely the best in town, hands down!"
"Driven through twice now, both times my order was on point. (Mocha Hot w/Oatmilk) If you like a nutty/fruity coffee bean, you will like this coffee. All menu items medium in size and decently priced around $6Reason for only 4 stars...wait time in drive thru was not dealt with efficiently, nor did the staff seem to care much about. There were two lines, combining to one with around 10 cars, this was on a Tuesday around 1pm. Cannot imagine how backed up it may be during rush hours"
"First time in. Ordered the Shredd, pretty dang good. Is picked up some wheatGrass blend. Got a nice discount for being a Planet Fitness member plus caught an item on sale. #Score!!!I didn't think to ask if the smoothie was non-dairy. Oh boy, that large might do me in."
"This place is great! Went in on the second opening day and it's not bad! The place took over what used to be "Boba KC" and all the old workers still work at this new place! As for the Boba itself, it's fantastic! I had the Honeydew Boba Smoothie and it was delicious! The Boba pearls were nice and soft and had a great texture. The smoothie was well blended and not overly sweet like some places. The location is great for this part of town, as these parts don't have another place to get great Boba Tea. All in all however, this place is a must go to if you're a Boba enthusiast or if you're just looking for a good drink! Come give it a shot and see what you think!"
"My new favorite boba place in town! This place just opened, and we love boba and were excited to try. Super cute decor and chill vibes. The staff was friendly and came by to check on us to make sure everything was good! Good service overall.- Brown sugar Oreo fresh milk with boba (4.5/5): I usually get boba less sweet, but I wanted to try it the way it came. It was pretty sweet but yummy overall! The Oreo was a perfect crunch, and the boba tasted fresh. Next time I'll try half sweet.- Taro milk tea with boba (4/5): Good milky taro flavor. My husband thinks it could be more sweet, but I like how it came. It's pretty much your standard taro milk tea. - Pork roll banh mi sandwich (4/5): I was surprised how delicious this was! Lots of fresh toppings for a crunch, and the pate made the sandwich very flavorful. A bit too much bread vs meat/topping ratio. The portion size is a bit small too, but so tasty!"
"Great place to grab a juice or smoothie! It's also the only place I can find wheatgrass juice shots! The employees are really hospitable, and they keep it nice & clean."
"Very easy to order. Nice staff. Quick service. Incredibly clean environment. Tasty drinks!!"
"Over all a lovely experience. Each bite was filled with tropical fruity flavors that blended together incredibly. Beautiful presentation and the texture was so nice on my tongue. Service was fast and polite. Please check this adorable shop out for some good healthy food."
"Wonderful and healthy food; a friendly staff; fast and professional service and a clean environment. I LOVE this place!"
"Loved this place ! My favorite by far of any smoothie /juice bar ! The flavor was so delicious! Wish they were closer . We need more of them around ! Bring one to independence and blue springs!"
"I had the monkey in the middle smoothie. It was one of the best smoothies I've ever had. The service was great. I was pleased with how quick they completed my order. The ingredients were fresh and sweet. It's always great finding a healthy treat. I'll definitely be returning to try some of their other offerings. It's an added bonus to support locally owned businesses. I love what Kansas City's next generation of business owners are doing."
"LOVE me some Dutch Bros. Indulged often when living in Cali. Now they have answered my prayers and brought locations to KC. Menu is extensive so study up before you embark on your journey to become part of the bro fam. Varieties of all sorts from tea to lemonade to shakes to coffee to sodas. Ask your bro-ista for suggestions off their hidden menu to try new things. I love testing new flavors in a Dutch soda adding cream and soft top to make it an Italian soda. The list goes on."
"The small (16 oz) berry banana blast ($8.25) was packed full of delicious, fruity flavor. I liked the good variety of healthy ingredients available and the ability to create your own smoothie.I found the dining area to be clean and new, while the service was cheerful and efficient. The menu includes bowls, smoothies, juices, wellness shots and grab n go items.Overall, very nice."
"This location is under new management, and staff. My smoothies are always perfect, and on time. Christal, the manager helped me to use my app. She showed me how to apply my rewards! The staff remembers my name, and they remember that I always do a 40oz plastic cup, because I end up splitting the foam cup in my cup holders. Customer service like this isn't common these days. Please go by and order, meet the staff, and don't forget to tip!"
"Watch out for that mouthy barista, Alannah! She always get your order right but not until you can get her attention. (Totally kidding!) great service, great drinks and a great place to get coffee. I wish they would put a place in Topeka!"
"I've been to this location twice after moving to this area several months back. I survived off of Smoothie King after a difficult abdominal surgery where I couldn't eat solid food for over 4 months! I love the chocolate Gladiator. Low sugar and relatively low carbs and when I get some add ins very helpful when you can't eat. I took a short break when I could finally eat solid foods again and was in the middle and of moving but missed my Gladiator. It really does matter who makes your smoothie and on both my visits, my smoothie tasted really good. My go to is the chocolate Gladiator with peanut butter, cocoa, and banana. Yummy! On my last visit, I went in just a few minutes before close and felt bad about it but the younger lady working there was pleasant and had no problem making my smoothie, waiting on someone in the drive in window making açaí bowls, and even one more customer who walked in right after me. The location was sparkling clean and decorated cute for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday. This is the closest location to my house and I'll be back soon!"
"We went to Succotash for an early breakfast. It wasn't very busy inside. You order at the counter and then sit down with your number while they bring out your food. Water is free and self-service. The inside was rustic and cozy. The ambiance was very charming and I loved the artwork they had displayed on the walls. The staff was very nice and friendly. The seating was a bit close, which I normally wouldn't mind, but it did make it difficult for accommodating a 2 year old. My husband ordered the BLET (BLT with an egg). He thought it was pretty good. He loves eggs on his sandwiches and was pleased. I ordered the Egg scramble with cheddar cheese, sausage, and bacon which was also pretty good. The flavor was yummy, but the meat was a little overdone. My daughter got pancakes and ate hers right up. Overall, the food was all pretty good in a nice atmosphere."
