"Finally tried staying here for my bday wknd. It didn't disappoint. The attention to detail and cleanliness were noticeable and appreciated. The OCD in me really appreciated that even the tiny screws in the light switch face plates were all pointed the same way. I thought I was the only one who did this! I now know I am not alone. There is someone else out there with a tiny screw driver righting the wrongs of this world. Not all heroes wear capes.I would recommend not staying on the 2nd floor directly above the bar, especially while DJ Napoleon Dynamite is playing. (You would have to see him to understand). The rest of the noises were acceptable for any hotel. The couple next door must've gotten hungry late at night and decided to whip up some Kraft mac n cheese while playing hide and seek because she screamed at random times and A Lot! On the other side, someone else must've said a bad word or otherwise got in trouble because one of them got a well-deserved spanking. It must not have hurt like the ones I got as a kid because I'm pretty sure I heard the words "harder" at some point. Weird."
"This particular IHG is located on Ft Leavenworth Kansas. Probably most known for the US Disciplinary Barracks (AKA the prison), there is not much else here, aside from the USCG. Shoppettes and PX all close super early. NotMany activities happening. Roads are narrowAnd old. So I hadn't much of a High hope forThis Army IHG WRONG. Hands down the best IHG on an Army installation I have ever stayed at. Huge rooms. That's all ICan say. Huge, rooms. The only reason they don't get 5 stars: The building layout is incredibly difficult toNavigate and the hotel Cleaning staff is either lazy or incompetent. In my two week stay I often found my trash had not been taken out, several days I had no bath mat (the towel you place down so you can step out of shower - they legit kept taking it?), and they only changed my sheets once in a 15 day stay. But that's the cleaning staff. They can be replaced. And if they do not perform to standard, surely they will be, just as we are all replaced if we fall short. Otherwise, greatest Army IHG I've stayed at to date."
"I really like staying in the Aloft by Marriott hotels, they are fun, eclectic atmosphere and the rooms are different, colorful and comfortable. This location is everything I mentioned above plus the personnel is super friendly and polite. The room is very modern in style and really clean. The TV is big and in the wall, it has the streaming software so you can watch YouTube, Max, Showtime and can use your account in Netflix. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets are nice and soft. The entrance lobby is really fun with a kind of Gothic and punk atmosphere. The board games and Pool table makes you want to stay and get a drink in the bar with your friends. The only con that I can see staying here is the cost of the parking, I think $ 24/ night is to steep."
"Stayed here recently and loved it. The room was beautiful and the views from all directions were of scenic rolling hills and skyline. Our hosts for the weekend, Rich and Monnie, were a great couple who really made us comfortable without getting in the way. I'm looking forward to going back again for a quiet get away."
"Motel 6 KCIMaybe It just depends on each property / location, but this Motel 6 near Kansas City International Airport seems run down at first sight, like run down apartment building. Then again, first Impressions can be wrong when you step into the hotel room and find it pretty good and deemed it worthy of some good praise and some comfort. The check in process was fast, hasty, and informal. I guess that would work if you just like that sort of thing.Like the Econolodge brand, Motel 6 wants payment at the time of check in and not when you reserve a room online weeks or even months prior. That's what I like about Motel 6, since you don't have to pay for the room right away. The property has a pool, but it looked unusable, with dirty looking water. That looked pretty gross. The property was a two story block building and I got unit # 233. The room itself was nice and it had the basics: bed, TV, and shower, toilet, and sink. It's not surprising that they did not have a microwave or a mini fridge in the room. Probably that's an additional expense that would increase room rates anyhow. The bed was comfortable, so I got in an ideal 7 1/2 hour sleep here. There is no airport shuttle service here, so be advised when booking this property. Most people just either do rental car or taxi, so it was nice to not have to depend on the airport shuttle at the hotel, if available. There was no problems here, just good service - like how it should be. Although there was a slight tinge of marijuana smell that seemed to linger in the room, that was ok, i think.Plenty of restaurants, including the Zona Rosa shopping center nearby. There are plenty of decent places to eat in the airport area, but I chose to eat at McDonalds when it was feasible for me to do so. On this trip, I even picked up a mega millions lotto ticket, which was basically a not even a winner. Oh well, there always is a next time! I can't say I can recommend this property, but the rates are good if you are a budget traveler and don't mind the basics versus luxury.Playing tourist & running marathons!A"
"This place is top notch! They've thought of everything. They upgraded my room and I'm so glad they did. Fresh, clean with lots of light. Bottled water and local chocolates. Toiletries in beautiful bath. More snakes for purchase if you wish. My door is double locked and I feel safe here."
"Argosy is one of my fave hotels in Kansas City. However, I'm deducting points because it's a hassle that they don't have microwaves anywhere on the property. I understand not having them in the rooms, but not having them anywhere on the property results in wasted take-out, wasted leftovers and forces you to eat at one of their overpriced and underwhelming eateries. Kansas City has great dining establishments and you're likely to have leftovers. If you're staying at the Argosy, you won't be able to warm them up and eat them later. Boo to that!"
"Newer hotel, this place was absolutely awesome from the moment we walked in. Friendliest of staff. Easy to check in, it's got a bar and many other great amenities. The hotel room was great, I absolutely loved the layout of the room as well as the bathroom! Great closet space as well. Plenty of things to do with in walking distance. I learned this the hard way but if you're not allowed to buy alcohol because of state regulations after a certain time , you can still buy alcohol here at the food pantry. Breakfast here was amazing as well! Highly recommended!"
"My fiancé and I stayed here for 1 night since we were just passing through on a road trip. I booked 1 room on booking.com for a good price. We checked in around 4:30pm and the gentleman at the desk named Phill was fantastic. He was very friendly, thorough and provided excellent customer service. The hotel is located a little outside the downtown city area which was nice because it was calm and quiet. We felt very safe here and enjoyed our stay."
"Friendly check-in and tasty breakfast as expected. I enjoyed the evening lobby tea service the Element has recently addedThis hotel is across the street from the sanctuary of Church of the Resurrection, making it extra convenient for events at the church. Abundant suburban amenities are nearby, and if you look there will be a few local places as well."
"Great location- we stayed 1 night for a staycation weekday getaway. Pros:Centrally located on the Country Club plaza close to restaurants, shopping and bars. Clean and spacious room. Nicely appointed room, plush bath towels. Comfortable mattress, linens and pillowsCons: only 1 outlet by bed ( other has alarm clock plugged in). Staff at check in was not friendly, causally dressed for a claimed upscale hotel. Lobby coffee pots empty at 8am ( attention to details). Parking $28/ night. TIP: ( Free parking lot across the street) In room small water bottles $2.50 each. We did not use bar or restaurant as so many better options in the area."
"This place was pretty nice. They accommodate for a big dog who weighs about 80 pounds, and a second puppy. The rooms were nice and clean with a stove, microwave and full sized fridge. The only complaint was they had a large list of TV channels, but then when I went to flip through the channels, there were about 10 channels..."

Near perfect. Housed in an old Pabst Blue Ribbon bottling factory. It maintains and honors its history, while urban chic is so overdone throughout the country, it belongs here, in places like this. The entire space is warm, dark and cozy, from the hallways to the rooms and even the factory like elevators. The rooms are as charming as the rest of the hotel. Bathrooms are large with walk-in showers featuring a shower valve on the opposite side of the shower head so you don't get wet when turning on the shower. The bathroom door is an industrial style barn door that slides instead of the traditional door. Room 438 was well equipped with king size bed, pillow menu, white comforter, decorative pillows, rocking mini bar that is see through from the top of the entertainment center, and unique leather do not disturb signs. The hotel has two bars you actually want to drink at! The popular rooftop bar, which actually closed due to extreme heat on our first day(who knew? A company that actually cares about its team members!). And a fantastic lobby bar with talented bar tenders, good drinks, pool table, shuffleboard and plenty of good people watching. There's also a small local art exhibit in the lobby. The staff was ridiculously friendly going out of there way to great us each time we arrived and wish us a good time on every exit. Free street parking was easy to come by for us mid summer. The location is fairly central, flush with many restaurants and only 15 minute walk to Union Station area.

Flawless check-in with Bonnie today. She gave me the rundown, the layout, and a map. The crazy thing is you can actually get lost in these buildings, but once you find your room, breakfast area, and the parking lot; you won't need to see the rest of the hotel.Room 3302 is in the C Building, which is close to the breakfast room. The room itself is a suite. It has a living room, kitchenette, separate bedroom, and bathroom. The living room has a flat screen TV, couch, coffee table, some accent lighting and a desk. The kitchenette has a full fridge, a small range, sink and dishwasher. The bedroom also has a flat screen, queen size bed, end tables accent lighting, and a closet.Breakfast is served promptly at 6am Monday-Friday, and at 6:30am on the weekends. Breakfast is Continental style. Scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, and waffles are available in a buffet. Also, various cereals, oatmeal, and hot sweet rolls are available. Most importantly, the coffee is a plenty and ready to take if you're on the go.The hotel has a small fitness room on the first floor that has a couple of cardio machines, but Gruber Fitness Center is next door, if the in-house gym is full already.I was here for a three week course, and the hotel was well within walking distance of the Lewis and Clark Building and Eisenhower Hall. Just one block away, you can find the post commissary, which is open everyday, along with the post exchange.Bonnie even helped me find an off-post barber, after the Barber Shop at the PX stopped seeing customers. The room was clean when I got it. Came with a living room and kitchen, two TVs, and a spacious bathroom. Housekeeping came to tidy up the bathroom.I'll be here for three weeks, so I'm pretty comfortable and this location is well within striking distance of everything I will and could need during that time. Lucky to have roomed here.

Please tell your night shift lady to quit banging the door as she comes in and out early morning to smoke ( a lot!!! )...Tried to call her twice, but she was outside smoking and didn't answer the phone.

The Truitt is very artfully decorated with tasteful furnishings. Our room was truly a home away from home. The location is ideal. It is close to restaurants and museums. Ryan was very accommodating and a joy to work with. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed staying there.

We haven't stayed at the Argosy in several years, and we needed a fun trip. Being offered free nights at their hotel helped us make our decision. However, after our experience, we may wait a while before we return. The hotel is quaint from the outside, and has an elegant lobby. Upon check-in, we were told that Housekeeping was not allowed to go into rooms while occupied. We would need to call the desk if we needed something. Didn't seem like a problem at the time. However, we discovered a jacket from a former guest in our closet. WHAT? That made us wonder just how clean was the rest of the area? I tried calling the desk to tell them/her, but my call was answered by reservations, and I was put on hold. There's a coffee maker and a fridge in the rooms, but your coffee allotment upon check-in is 2 pods. If you need more, you need to call the desk, or reservations. . .Long story short, when you need something, it takes a trip downstairs to the desk. Very inconvenient. Inconvenient kind of sums up our stay at the Argosy.

This is an exceptional hotel for the price point. It is right off the highway but in the perfect spot for any amenities needed. The rooms are clean and quiet. Everything was well maintained. No scratched furniture or nicks. The heat and air worked well. There is a pleasant light fragrance throughout. Their breakfast buffet was extensive and stocked. They have alternative milk if you ask. The workout room is one of the best I've seen. Treadmills, elliptical, bikes, weights and more. We needed a late checkout and it was promptly approved. We will for sure be back whenever we are in KC.

"Amazing, amazing, amazing. This boutique hotel is a gem. We stayed in a beautiful two bedroom suite with an insane bathroom. The shower alone fits 4-6 people, oh my!Great location - central to everything, especially the museums. Tons of street parking. You walk up to this amazing manor (see my pics) and walk into a downstairs with two stunningly decorated sitting rooms. Our suite was on the second floor and was crazy gorgeous. Dramatic black painted walls, black on black design in the bathroom, modern fixtures with tasteful design and style. Quiet AND the hosts had locally sourced high-end chocolates as a guest gift (which were delicious).Loved the self-check in with electronic access. Streamlined the whole process and accommodated us due to our late arrival because of flight schedules.I would 100% stay in this place again if I'm back in town."
"If you claim the name Hotel Kansas City, you're putting yourself out there as being one of the best. IMO, that's absolutely the case here as this is a beautiful, well-run hotel from the top down. Recently did a little staycation here because it's like a theme-park resort for adults; a fancy basement cocktail bar, a nice lobby and hotel bar, and a top-rated restaurant anchoring it all down. We never felt the need to get off the hotel grounds. Valet was friendly, and everything flowed nice and easily* (we'll come back to that), especially compared to some recent hotel stays I've experienced. The room has a beautiful, modern interior that also leans on the classic 1920's feel of the building. It's classy and comfortable all at once. The bed was super comfortable, and while we didn't get a view out our window, you're bound to when facing certain directions. If you're from out of town, it's nice to be so close to P&L and other walkable, vibrant areas downtown. One addition that I really appreciated was their nice coffee bar down in the lobby. They made some great drip coffee, and my wife loved her latte. It's like a real coffeeshop which again makes things so easy in the morning. The only drawback? I never got the receipt that was to be sent my way, and then noticed a sizable bill on my credit card. They had accidentally double charged me for the room, and I had to reach out to multiple people and provide quite a bit of effort to keep the conversation going. I really don't like having to deal with stuff like that as it drags out, but fortunately they were able to get it refunded a week or two later. All in all, a great spot and one I'd recommend to friends who visit out of town when they want to see KC show off a little."
"A superb new hotel in 2021 overlooking the Garmin Soccer Complex in Olathe, KS. Great layout and inviting lobby. A restaurant and bar to quench your thirst and hunger. Quiet location. Pleasantly appointed modern rooms will make this a perfect choice."
"What a lovely b&b! Delightful coffee service and breakfast; caring owner & host; beautiful rooms & details; Parkville is a cute town. Easy access to airport & KC. Beautiful river walks. Loved sitting out on the porch."
"Pros - location right on Main Street where you can walk to restaurants, local shops and bars. Staff were friendly. Cons - WiFi doesn't work on 3rd floor, spiders, needs paint plus hair in shower when we arrived."
"I didn't stay in the hotel, but I had a drink at the swanky Bar Stillwell. It feels like the nerve center of the place.A fun mix of hotel guests and locals waxing poetic over their favorite dram.I'm a whiskey and bourbon guy, so I struck up a conversation with the bartenders. Moment later, I was drinking a delicious Old Fashioned and discussing the bartender's favorite pours and specialty bottles.I'm not sure if I'll be a regular visitor, but I will definitely be back. This is a great place for a pre or post downtown dinner or event drink."
"This place I'd pretty good! Nice big, comfy bed, TV, microwave, fridge, cabinets, a couch to sit on, an extra bed in the window. Nice and clean. The jacuzzi in the tub turned me to spaghetti! I feel so much better! Looked at the gym. Wasn't too interested. Don't get me wrong, it had a few decent pieces of equipment, treadmills and such, but I had just gone for a swim in their nice little pool, then soaked in the tub. Too relaxed to work out!I passed a pizza guy on the elevator, so I know it's possible to order out.Snacks in a machine by the office if you want ice, take your room card! Nice place. Hubby and I enjoyed it!Oh, I'm actually premature here, because breakfast starts at 6am to 9 am in the morning. Looking forward to it, do check the pics for how it went!"
"We were able to book 3 nights here comp as I am a Emerald member and resort fee is comped too. I tend to play here quite a bit compared to other casinos such as the Argosy, Harrah's and Bally's. We like staying here because the casino is nice and big and near Worlds of Fun which is a 5 minute drive The only downside is the parking as a lot of close up parking is blocked off, but the walk to the casino is not too bad. They gave a garage as well, but the hotel is on the other side which makes it not convenient. They have a small arcade, movie theatre and a stadium for performances. I have yet done those yet as we come here for the park, but maybe when World's of Fun goes into an offsHotel Room was nice and big even though we did not get a suite this time around. The room itself was nice still even though the toilet, shower and sink was more cramped compared to the suite, but it was still nice. They do a courteous check after 2 days in the hotel which is a first for us.Food wise, since we have not been back since last September as World's of Fun is an 8 hour drive, we did not get our usual $25 dollars, so we ended up eating somewhere else, but World's of Fun we use our meal passes. We eaten at Sugo and the Steak place and Burger place. I do have separate review for those.CasinoThe things I love about the casino, they offer 3 to 2 blackjack unlike Caesar's properties. Usually min bets are $15 dollars during primetime, but I got in at $10 dollars in the morning however. If you play smart, your money does go pretty far as I lost a total of $75 dollars with three hours of play as that $75 dollars can be lost in minutes on a slot. Do not know how much points the casino gives me, probably not as much compared to slots. I could not play to long. I have not played craps here as I tend to.From the last time I went here on September, they definitely got new machines as there was a lot I really wanted to play, but constrained myself not to bet too big on those as they are volatile. But the new games they have Huff and more puff, buffalo casino carnival, Fire Link (One with the Monkey), Pinball, Top Dollar, Heidi and Hannah, some new Konami games, Buffalo Asencion which I avoided as I got the bonuses twice, but the payback was awful, I tend to avoid those as those are really volatile and I tend to lose a lot of money on those. The Lightning Link, Dollar Storm and Dragon Link are the most popular games as people tend to me on there quite a bit. If you really want to play those, I recommend going in the morning.I had a lot of luck this trip and at Ameristar and I got some great wins here. This time I ended up with a $2585.00 hand pay at Thunder Cash which was awesome as I got a lot of retriggers. Thunder Cash was being really kind to me. I played the Enforcer and Real Fruits 777 which was alright. But these machines do not have the hit by a certain number, but noticed the bonus did come out more often except did not get one on real Fruit. One thing to know is you do pay a jackpot 4% tax which they ended up taking $130 dollars of my winnings. I did tip the slot attendant however, since my luck was great. I enjoyed playing Pinball even though the bonus is hard to get. Huff and Puff, I love and hate the game as I usually win a lot or lose a lot.Overall, a great casino experience. I can not wait to come back here and play."
"Cloverleaf was a solid place for our recent KC trip.I'll preface this with the fact that we were travelling with a pupper that hasn't quite learned her manners yet, so we needed something with quick access to outdoors. Cloverleaf came through in that regard. The suites are sizeable and offer a full(ish) kitchen and they have been renovated recently. The bed was comfy thanks to the topper and I have no complaints other than listening to the people in the room above us stomp around all night/every night.I can't speak to the breakfast since it's not offered in Covid times, but overall the location is good, the amenities are decent and their deposit policy is garbage. I'm sure there's for a reason for it, but just be aware they will charge you a security deposit and then refund it, versus putting a hold for incidentals. It ain't the Ritz, but it's a good spot if you need something very pet friendly."
"We went for the Saturday brunch. Their first and they said they will be starting them more frequently. The B&B is beautiful, everything has been remodeled but some has been left in its original state so you can see how they used to live. One restroom in particular is a great example of a very early "modern" bathroom, the tub is made of wood! The brunch was nice, the food was good. They have some kinks to work out but they admitted this was going to be a learning curve. Food tended to run low and not enough staff to refill, food wasn't always warm. On the other hand, everything tasted good, it was fresh, there was a good selection, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Worth the price of brunch and we will try it again. Get way out of the city and visit one of the nicest pre-civil war homes in the area!"
"Sure, most think of it as a hotel first, but The Oread is way more than the sum of just its rooms. Those are jammed every weekend throughout the school year and possibly the summer. I live less than a mile away so unless I decide to do a getaway I can walk to I may never actually be a hotel guest. However, I have plenty of insight into the venue to offer that most won't. It's part public space that hosts all kinds of corporate and school functions, weddings and related parties, private meetings, all of which require catering and staffing. Of those I've attended my share. It's also public space with several dining facilities and bars.Head to the rooftop, AKA "The Nest" for the single most breathtaking view of the entire city and campus, one that has no equal in the entire city. Breathtaking. Visit in the evenings on weekends and you can catch live music and a small bar on the rooftop, everything you need for a special night out, and I already mentioned, that view! Not just for hotel guests that are staying, in case you wonder.First floor, The Birddog Bar has a nice selection of my favorite beers and spirits and is a relaxed place to kick back and has a credible bar menu. For fine dining, "On The Hill," their Italian restaurant is turning out the best hand crafted pasta dishes and more in the city. Elegant, and highly rated. And for folks like me wanting to quaff a great cup of joe on a morning walk, that's available ala Starbucks in the morning in the lobby by the front door. Oh, and for the college crowd there's an age appropriate bar on the backside down the hill. I'd consider myself a bit old to visit according to my daughter. Wise advice from what I've heard. I'll stick with that.If you come: valet parking, close to everything KU related, you can even see parts of the football field for game day, and the University promises it'll be a winning team in a year or two. We can only hope, right? One last thing: a neighbor is a lead housekeeping worker in the facility and speaks highly of her employer. THAT gets my attention."
"We stayed one night as a gift from a relative and stayed in the Monte Cristo room. The positives is that all the staff were nice and helpful as they could be. The place was generally clean but needs some "deeper cleaning" on overlooked areas. I think that their rooms need to just be redone to come into current times because the themes are just tacky and outdated. When they first opened it may have been kind of cool but now the decor looks old, dated and dusty. I don't know who thought putting the bathroom by the entrance door of the Monte Cristo room was a good idea... because the actual bedroom is on the second floor and in the middle of the night you have to walk down a winding sweeping staircase all the way through the main living area to the bathroom, which is a nightmare. The Jacuzzi was nice but whoever designed that must've designed the bathroom issue! Because the handle to turn the water on is far away from the tub and I feel like someone's going to get injured, even trying to keep testing the water temperature. When we turned down the sheets, there was a baby spider that ran out and the same thing happened when I turned the water on in the bathroom. The shower water smelled like rust. The room and the bathroom were generally clean, but they need to do some deep cleaning in the vents and on the fake plants and windowsills. Our relative had paid to have rose petals and chocolate covered strawberries when we entered the room. The bed was covered with fake dollar tree, looking pedals and they should've just bought one rose and actually put those petals on the bed. There were no strawberries and we had to go down and ask and they said, "Oh yeah we just give them to you when we ask" so that really kind of ruins the surprise for the guest. Also, I do not believe they would've ever given them to us if we would not have asked. When we did ask the strawberries were frozen and the chocolate was some cheap light colored milk chocolate. They said that happy hour at the bar was between four and eight so we went down and it was a very small bar that had cheesy decor and the chairs kept turning when we sat in them and the table was so light that you could almost tip it over. The bartender was nice and did make good drinks, but there was no music and the space was so small that it was just awkward sitting in there with just the bartender and another worker. They had the patio closed off at the bar for a future event. They have an outdoor very large permanent structure tent that was rented for a group and then they used the patio. We had a $25 credit for a breakfast and that was just okay. When I went to use the room phone to ask about the strawberries it did not work so I had to go downstairs and talk to her. In the Montecristo room there are tons of windows since it seems like it's made in a castle form and they all have curtains, but really the light spills through all the cracks so it's extremely light in the room and difficult to sleep and the bed was totally bouncy. We tried to turn the stereo on and only one speaker worked. We can only comment on that particular room maybe other rooms are completely fine?? I think it may be a good place to rent the outdoor building for an event and maybe their basic rooms if you are staying for the event. But the Monte Cristo room with the strawberries and fake rose petals and taxes came to $558 for one night."
"The reviews on the various websites were positive and it was $75 a night, so I figured why not. If possible, I do enjoy trying out unique hotels, as opposed to the typical chains. It didn't click with me, though, until I stood at the front door (locked at 7:00pm) waiting (for a staffer to come open the door and let me in) what this hotel was all about... After seeing the halo in place of the dot above the "i" in their logo, things started to click.Do not let the religious aspect prevent you from staying here, though. Aside from a non-denominational prayer on the pillow, there was really nothing else religious about this place. In fact, what this place most resembles is a re-vamped college dorm. The layout is almost exactly like one of the dorms I lived in years and years ago. From the room itself to the hallways to the common areas - it's a dorm that wants to be a bed & breakfast. The entire hotel was welcoming and pristine. Bonus points for satellite TV. Decent bathroom. Very nice yard area (though, while I was here it was covered in snow). The best part, though - and, let's face it, when it comes down to it, this is the part that counts the most - was the bed. It was a fabulously comfy and warm bed. Soft, yet firm. Big, fluffy down comforter. Four extra-large pillows. It was one of my best hotel bed experiences."
"Great value for the price! We will come back and stay here again.I would love to give this place 5 stars but there were a couple of items that prevent that for me I would give it 4.5 stars though if Yelp would allow me to.Lots of positives:* Clean rooms (I could smell the clean in the sheets). * No strange smell in room. Many places have rooms with a mustiness smell, but not here. * The beds were clean and comfortable, but (Negative) squeaked whenever you moved.* Quiet. Even though it is pet friendly (which we like) , and low cost, we didn't hear a thing;* Fan/heater worked great. We like to have a fan run constantly to help drown out any potential outside nose, and most places don't allow the fan to actually run at a constant speed, or without big noises going on and off when the heating or cooling engages. Here was no problem. It ran constantly. It held the room temperature perfectly.* Low Cost. They advertised $92 for the night and we were able to save another 20% by booking thru Expedia. Unfortunately when we called the hotel directly first to see if they'd beat or at least match the Expedia price (to book directly thru them), they were not able to, so we had to do it thru Expedia, which worked just fine.* Very friendly staff.* Great location, just off of I-35. BUT you do need to drive thru the rear of a large truck stop to get there (it's worth it). Office was on the far side. * Big Parking spaces, and you could pull up right next to your room.* Pet Friendly, and they don't charge extra for it. We like both points as we often travel with our small dogs. And the rooms did not smell. * Warm Breakfast. Freshly made pancakes. Scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, boiled eggs, plus the other regular stuff. Negatives:* Squeaky beds. The beds were clean and comfortable! But the springs squeaked ANY time you moved. The mattress is on top of a metal base spring which unfortunately squeaks easily.* The metal base bed frame has metal legs at the corner edges and at the middle edges, so I stubbed my toes on them couple of times. Conventional frames have their legs recessed so this doesn't happen.* The blanket was very thin. They had a sheet, thin blanket, and then another thin blanket on top of that (I'm sure for easier and sanitary cleaning). But it was very light. It could have used a thicker blanket or comforter. And the blanket portion was a bit short sheeted.* Strange way to get there. You had to drive through another businesses parking lot to get there. This is not a big deal, but I wasn't expecting it.* Although the room was clean, the bathroom could have used an extra bit of attention. Hard water stains on sink, toilet could have been a bit better cleaned, and the top wall (between 6 and 8 feet had spots on them). Still clean over all, but when you looked a bit closer, you saw missed stuff.* Coffee is from instant coffee machine dispenser. Not the best strength or tasting coffee but it is free.We will gladly come here again! Great value for the price. I think we will just ask for an extra blanket when we check in next time."
"I pity the foolThat doesn't read the reviewsThis hellish vortexEvery interaction with staff at this place was basically I could give a fuck about you and your concerns. Pulled up at at 3 to see if I could check in. Attendant was like no not until the 4pm check in time. Didn't know what it was, but every other hotel checks and 99% of the time they find a room that is ready. Come back a couple hours later and check in. The smoke alarm is sitting above the hanging clothes rack with no smoke alarm attached where it should be. Turn on the TV. This channel is not available over and over again. I call the front desk. Ten rings. No answer. Wait a good twenty minutes. Call again. No answer. Go down to the lobby. Employee there tells me hotel wide problem. I said no problem. Left and came back a couple hours later. Asked if the TV's were working again. He looked at me like I was from Mars. No hotel-situation that he was aware of. Go up to the room. TV still not working. Go back down. Ask if I can move to another room. He now says it is a hotel-wide issue so no point. TV being out is not the worst problem in the world. I've had the problem at other hotels. They send someone up and fix it easily. Here you are straight up ignored if not slightly disrespected. Wake up this morning and housekeeping is knocking on doors at 8:45 in the morning. Everybody was still in their room of course. Quickly hung out my do not disturb sign. Go elsewhere! Spend the extra money! Cool historical photos of Kansas City all over the place. So one plus."
"HEY KC! Test your luck at the tables or slots at Harrah's in North KC. Did you know you can earn $10 free cash when you visit for the first time? There are plenty of fun opportunities and games to play for your chance at winning some money. I tested my luck at my favorite slot game: Buffalo Run! Did I win anything?? Nothing but fun this time! Roll the dice, push the button, take your guess...the choice is up to you! The staff is nice and there is a full bar to order drinks from. Once you are done with all the fun, you can head up to your cozy bed in a clean and beautiful room at the Harrah's Hotel. Check out Harrah's with your friends or partner to switch up the routine weeknight activity. Harrah's is also a great spot to celebrate a birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, or date night! Add Harrah's Kansas City to your KC Bucket List!"
"Went for a little weekend get away and got just that! This hotel is so beautiful and has a lot to offer. The staff was helpful, quick to respond and was welcoming. I loved the spa so much as well. Check out not only the hotels spools and but also check out the spa grotto !!"
"I both stayed at the hotel and ate dinner at the restaurant. In my opinion, the hotel experience is two stars. The restaurant experience is four stars. Add them together and split the difference: three stars. The plusses about the hotel are that it looks cute and has themed rooms. The lobby is very cozy, with comfy couches and a little bar off to the side in a corner. (Fun fact: The bar at Grand Central Hotel was the first operating bar in this town!) It's a pet-friendly hotel. You also get warm muffins and coffee at breakfast time. The minuses about the hotel: Someone had used the restroom in the bathroom in my room and didn't flush. When I tried to flush, it wouldn't. So I asked for a new room, of course. In my new room, the TV didn't work (which was no big deal because I don't watch TV anyway) and the door wouldn't lock. So I went downstairs and talked to the person in charge, and she muttered something like, "Kids these days don't know how to get into a hotel room without a key card." I was like, um? I don't know how young or stupid you think I am, but I'm not too young or stupid to know how to operate a lock. (Also: Thanks for thinking I'm young!) It turns out that you need to jerry-rig the knob to lock it. If you need to finesse a lock in order for it to work, it sounds like you need to replace the lock, or come up with a different system. However, later that night, I had the pleasure of eating at the hotel restaurant. The Grand Central Grill is definitely the place to eat in the area. I got the chicken fried steak, which is a Kansas specialty and served here Friday and Saturday nights only. It came with mounds of mashed potatoes and gravy, and it was one of the best dishes I had in south central Kansas. The Caesar salad was just OK (the dressing came poured on the top and not mixed, which it should be), but the chicken fried steak made up for that. They have a decent wine list for a small town, which was appreciated by me. The service was great, and even though they were busy, our server was very attentive and we got everything we needed."
"Great location to options around downtown. Rooms are clean and a good size. SUPER terrific staff. Them alone make the 5 star review. $28 valet or a parking garage that is basically attached. They also have a great restaurant downstairs that has breakfast and dinner - plenty of options, and even a tiny market in case you need something in a pinch."
"I don't review hotels often but I must give a shout out to Hilton Garden Inn. We stayed here over a weekend for a quick family holiday. I literally spent hours trying to find a hotel that fit all of our needs and had good reviews. I booked and canceled, rebooked, etc. until finally settling on this Hilton Garden Inn. I'm so glad I did. First, we have a lot of 'must have' on our list:- Indoor pool for our toddler (it's also heated!)- Breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was not free but I paid for a package that included breakfast for both days. It was maybe a $10 upcharge but we ended up spending more than $50. It was definitely worth getting the package. - Close to downtown- Free parking- Clean and affordable. My husband is especially picky about cleanliness and updated facilities but I like to find a balance of clean at around $150 a night. The hotel was very clean, updated, and well kept. This hotel met all our needs and more. The rooms were clean, updated, service was great. Actually, service was beyond great. They let us check in early so we could make our appointment at Auschwitz, breakfast service was great, hotel staff was always friendly and present. All staff wore masks and masks were encouraged throughout, even though there was not a mandate. We didn't have issues with loud guests either and we had adequate parking. It's not well-known but they have a lower level where guests can park. Once I found that out we had no problem finding parking. Overall, I was very happy with the hotel and will return."
"Everything was going pretty well here, during our stay. Until......I turned on the shower. It probably would have been more efficient to spritz myself with a water bottle. I mean, I can't explain to you enough that when I say it was a bad shower, it was the worst I have ever experienced. And I have even stayed in a Motel 6 and a Ramada Inn before. Despite the carpet stains, loose ceiling fans, and foggy windows at those places, at least the showers were better there. The water like, barely spat out of the shower head that was about the size of the thimble from Monopoly. And when I turned on the bath function, hot water came out. But when I switched the shower valve, it turned cold. The shower alone literally knocked it down about 1.5 stars, by itself.Which sucks, because I really liked just about everything else about our stay. I understand that bed & breakfasts are traditionally a southern sort of style, what with the wooden rocking chairs and the flower art on the walls with distasteful golden picture frames. But they're still a little too Little House on the Prairie for me, ya know? Here, I didn't get that vibe. My girlfriend booked us the Trevor Chadwick room, and it was tastefully decorated with a consistent theme of deep reds and vintage decor that was glamorous but not overly so.I almost rated it a 3, but I figure that's a little harsh considering my only real gripe is getting spit on in the shower (#firstworldprobs). As far as the food, I liked it, myself. But I could tell the consensus around the dining table of about eight others was negative (#firstworldprobs). Servings included these weird cheese puffs, pecan bars, coffee muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage links, and cherry crêpes with filling that was pretty much sour cream and that's it.Room: 4.5/5Food: 3/5City of Weston, Mo.: 3.5/5Shower: The shower scene in 'Psycho' was better than this nonsense."
"Attention to detail. Marvelous location. Step inside the inn for a welcome you won't soon forget. Our room was so quiet. Slow closing doors means no slamming and no sounds bleeding through from adjacent rooms. Leather chairs, furniture with built-in charging outlets (no crawling on the floor required), fridge stocked with your favorite beverage, even the toilet has a built-in nightlight! What haven't they anticipated? The grounds are beautiful with little spots to sit and enjoy and larger spaces for events. Since you're right across from Meadowbrook park they have bikes available so you can get out and enjoy. The pool and fitness center are a little small, but fit the size since there are only 50 or so rooms. The market is quickly becoming the neighborhood hangout. Great selection of pastries, picnic supplies and a limited upscale menu for a quick bite. The homemade jam that came with our beignets was so delicious."
"Really nice hotel with really good service. This location has a shuttle to the airport. It was very easy to schedule and they were on time. I had a comfortable rest and the breakfast was great."
