"OK so I originally joined the free 21 day challenge and I have to admit that I was like "ugh there's a lot of high-fiving and cheery greetings here" which is not totally my thing BUT after joining and now working out there for a few months, I catch myself handing out high-fives and nodding at the other regulars. I joined for the classes and those have been AMAZING - great instructors, good participation level, lots of choices. The facility itself is brand spanking new so it's super nice and doesn't smell like a gym yet. Prices are reasonable and I didn't have to sign any contracts that had the words "my immortal soul" tucked away in them. If you're looking for a new gym, definitely give this place a try!"
"I've never worked out at a friendlier, more sincere place than BioFit. Everyone from the owners to the interns are there to help whenever you need it. All ages and fitness levels seem to enjoy being here and achieving whatever goals they have set. It is a place worth checking out if you need a gym, personal trainer, help with your nutrition or muscle activation therapy."
"This is a fantastic gym conveniently located in downtown KC. I got in on a really cool special for the first 100 members and 2 of my friends joined the next day. That special is over but I see them posting specials all the time on Facebook, so check there or ask at the front desk which is manned until 7 pm every weekday and I think until 1 on Saturday. It's not the biggest gym in town but it doesn't have to be...it's Great. It's really clean (and they enforce masks in and out and when not exercising) with brand new equipment, a locker room with showers , a room for classes and stretching, full range of cardio, weights and machines and certainly the very best deals I've seen in the metro , especially for a 24 hour gym. They even have 2 other locations you can use . Come check it out...you'll probably see me!"
"Relaxed gym atmosphere with great ownership. The turf space in back is a rare sight in the city"
"I enjoy working out at this YMCA. The location is convenient for me and I have never had to wait for equipment. I love that the cardio equipment have their own cable TVs, honestly some days the cable TV is my only motivation to work out! This is a smaller location and has seen many years of use by the community but it suites me just fine. Staff as super friendly so that is deffiently a bonus."
"I've been in the parking lot since 4:50 AM. The gym opens @5am... or should open at 5. It has not been opened, and now it's 5:30 and still not opened. No one can get a hold of anyone- we've tried reaching out to someone at the plaza location. There were probably 30+ cars here trickling in between 4:55- 5 and cars are leaving now.... So incredibly disappointing considering some people can only work out early not to mention everyone's been awake to workout. Inconsiderate of people's time.... This isn't the first time it's happened but this is just bad now that it's been over 30 min."
"I have been training with Next Level for a year and a half and followed them with their recent move to the 23rd and Louisiana location. Chad, owner, really knows his stuff and is a wealth of knowledge in everything involved in both personal training and health overall such as diet and nutrition. I personally work with Haydn who is excellent. His knowledge and ability to tailor workouts and goals to each individual are what has changed my physique drastically over the time I've worked with him. It's not just a random workout each day or something just to make me sweat so I feel like I accomplished something. Here there's an overarching philosophy of weeks and months working towards your goals of being an overall healthier and stronger individual. As far as the gym goes it's clean and set up for personalized workouts. Definitely check this place out."
"I've been attending The Firm for 6 months now! These guys are a fantastic team. The gym is clean and the people are always friendly. I've lost 6inches and about 10lbs. I never dread going to workout! They keep it fun, and always introduce new things to switch it up for us. Keep up the good work The Firm KC!"
"Gym is very nice, big, a lot of space on the 3 floors and the best thing is the staff, really nice people, I travel around the states and this gas been one of the best gyms I've been"
"The tennis program would get a 5 but the gym equipment needs some tlc. The equipment has tears and missing pieces. I like all the cardio equipment and are in good working order."
"This is my absolute favorite workout ever! I am so thankful they got me in the door two months ago, because I have found my place! I don't think I have ever looked forward to working out more than I have since starting at LAgree. I actually want to workout on my off days, which is new for me. No two workouts are the same either, and you can't plateau. I also love that they ha e started offering more of a variety of classes! I have only tried the regular "mega" classes and the TRX mix-ups, but there are 55+, 101 fundamentals, HIIT, and arms/abs/core focused classes! I have to say the people are my favorite! First of all, the instructors are awesome! They are all so encouraging and motivating and push you to do and be your absolute best! They all have their own teaching styles too. Second, I love the people I've met since working out here! I've made friends, and even when I've gone into a class knowing no one, everyone is welcoming and excited to be there. I highly recommend trying out a class, it's an experience you won't regret!"
"We love the cheer pit!! The environment is so happy and encouraging and great for kids. The lessons we have learned and people we have met are all amazing!"

BioFitKC is an awesome facility. Great staff, well maintained equipment, access to clean/stocked showers, and an in-house massage option. I've worked out with Justin and have been impressed with his knowledgeable enthusiasm and genuine interest in my physical health. I have also gotten a fantastic massages from Jamie and Molly. Highly recommend!

This is the nicest gym in all of downtown Kansas City! Its clean, affordable, and modernized. Tons of equipment to pick from, 24 hours, and friendly staff. They were running special sales for memberships when I signed up.. I think the promo is still going on!

Brickyard has plenty of parking, extremely clean, good amount of equipment, and always has sports on the tv. Conor gave me a tour of the facility and was friendly. I purchased a day pass while I was in town for work and had a great workout.

This is an awesome gym! I love the ease of scanning my phone via Chiefs Fit app to enter. The staff is friendly and it's always clean! There's a great selection of machines and amenities. 10/10 - wish there was one in Lees Summit also!!

I have worked out at Next Level with either Chad or Laura Richards for 15 years. They have a level of expertise that most personal trainers do not have. Their education and training allows them create a gym where proper form is priority. They believe in starting from the bottom and helping their clients achieve their goals in a safe and healthy way.

This place was really loud, service was sub par and equipment was okay...I would recommend CityGym for anyone wanting a similar experience. Their training is better priced, the atmosphere is better, the service is amazing and it is in DT KC which is beautiful. I wish I could give it a better review.

"This review update is LONG overdue. Sorry Scott Fitness people. Way back in the day after I posted my less than pleased update, I was actually contacted by the staff and thanked for the heads up and told they took my observations seriously. I like that a lot, as it's just good customer service.Obviously they DID take some of my concerns to heart, because I no longer see the trainer guys just loafing around, eating food while training and walking around barefoot. Well, pilates guy walks around barefoot, but he's pilates guy, so I think that sort of makes sense. The bathroom situation still sucks, but short of a MAJOR renovation they're not going to be able to change that. I can deal. My only real complaint that I have now is that I wish the lighting was just a touch brighter in the cardio area. I HAVE to have distractions while I'm doing cardio, to keep myself from remembering how much I hate it. Maybe I have bad eyes, but it's just difficult for me to read a magazine or even play with my phone due to the dim lighting. I've taken up a few of the classes. Spinning is awesome, but not as awesome as Yoga is for Every Body. The instructor Bernie is the nicest guy in the world and really makes the whole experience challenging w/o being intimidating. I'm absolutely hooked. Project Poolside makes me want to cry. What can I say? I'm a big big fan of this gym. Thanks to them I've lost about 20lbs in the last few months, and if i keep up at this rate maybe I'll put it back on in the form of becoming absolutely ripped ;)"
"Horribly unclean the owner doesn't care about how it's cleaned or any problems with the gym having allergies to the point I can't be there and he want 300$ to cancel"
"I stopped in here 3 times as a visitor for open gym when traveling to KC on business to knock out a WOD and try my best to stay on point while away (which is always a challenge). This place is much larger than my home box, easily double the size, but the setup is really sweet. The more room to roam the better in my way of thinking. For open gym you will likely be able to score your own squat rack and lifting platform with no problem.I really did not interact with anyone much since I only swung by for open gym, but both coaching staff and other members were very pleasant and inviting. You can tell the members here are a very tight knit tribe, but the same could be said for my home box as well. Those new to CF or veterans looking for a new place to train would do well to check this place out."
"I agree with the previous reviewers. The online training is a joke. You are sent a cookie-cutter plan that is extremely hard to stick to on your own. It is a much wiser idea to either do personal training one-on-one or even in a bootcamp or boxing class. The type of advice they give you at Hitch Fit is advice that is typically free if you just ask a trainer at your gym. They also do not offer refunds."
"Been a member for almost a year now. This gym still remains the best in the area when it comes to getting a quality workout in. Has all kinds of weights and equipment. Only two real gripes. The attitude towards kids. Was promised a family atmosphere and to be honest, it just isn't that as of late. Secondly, the gym is now being used by various organizations and teams to practice and/or exercise. When these activities are taking place members are unable to use the facility like they normally would. Check it out for yourself. Plenty of positive experiences here, but unfortunately growing negative experiences"
"I love this place and have been going for a bit over a month. Usually its kinda quiet and the trainers are helpful without being pushy. If you want a certain machine is suggest going before 6am, after 9am, or after 6pm when its not really busy. The steam room and sauna are nice. I'd give it 5 stars but have had a few things that needed to be cleaned at times. Other than that I love this place and highly recommend"
"Kri preaches "be better every day." Well, that's exactly what u will accomplish if you join! It is exactly like having personal trainer in a classroom setting. He provides you with his cell phone and he answers all texts and calls! I have been here six months and I cant imagine a week without hiit fitt!"
"I love this gym! I love that it's not to big but not to small. I love that it offers a wide variety of cardigan and weight equipment. I love that they offer childcare while I work out. I love that they offer classes, especially ones like beer and cycling! The dressing rooms and sauna are nice. I love that you get 4 FREE personal training sessions with your membership and that you have the option to purchase a personal trainer to continue your journey. The facility is very clean, staff is friendly and the gym is not too busy. If you are looking into a gym, this is a good one! They don't have a pool or tanning BUT your gym membership allows you access to other gyms that do have those amenities."
"The staff are always friendly and always cleaning the machines. We joined in May in the middle of Covid and I have been impressed how they have handled it. They take temperatures and insure you as well as everyone else wears masks - I've heard them remind people to put masks over mouth and nose. They also had been remodeling and gotten new equipment in late 2020. It's a friendly environment and has nice equipment - a variety of aerobic machines, track, basketball courts, indoor pool, new weight and pulley machines in December 2020, weights including barbells, kettlebells plus dumbbells from 5-120 lbs."
"City Gym is perfect if you're looking for a place to work out that is: clean, inclusive, not too big or small, and has everything needed for strength and cardio training. Their gender neutral bathrooms and private showers are wonderful, and the equipment is always clean and in working order. The staff is super friendly and the patrons are all respectful of the space and each other. Parking is a breeze out back. The only thing missing (for some) from this gym might be a pool/sauna and a track."
"Looking to kick off your new healthy lifestyle or maybe turn up your current fitness routine? Blush is the place to do it! This women's only gym focuses on a boot camp style program that's great for women of all ages and fitness levels. The trainers do an amazing job pre-planning out the daily exercise routine. They lead the class and explain how to do each workout with modifications as needed for various levels of skill. It was easy to join the group day one and not feel too out of place. The workouts are legit though, and definitely allow you to really push yourself to the next level. Their program includes a heart monitor so you can see in real time on a monitor how you are doing throughout the class. It motivates me to kick it up a notch to target those higher fat burning levels. Great, clean facility with so much attention to details. There is a large bathroom with changing areas and two showers. Soaps/shampoos available. Best part by far is free childcare, let me repeat, FREE childcare during your workout. They even offer balance meetings where ypu meet with a trainer to discuss the right nutrition plan for you and set up specialized goals. Amazing!"
"I was staying in Emporia for a week for the Dynamic Discs Glass Blown Open in 2015. I am a gym rat at home and knew I would miss not being able to exercise for an entire week. I searched around and found Emporia Fitness was within a few blocks of my hotel. They had a weekly membership available for less than $20. A price that couldn't be beat, considering what I am use to in Toronto. The cardio machines were plentiful. They even had Precor AMTs, which are handsdown one of the best cardio machines available (and not easy to find in most fitness centres). The had a great circuit set-up in the front half of the building and the back was freeweights. The free wifi was amazing, and meant I could watch Netflix on the cardio machines and listen to Spotify while doing weights. When I come back to Emporia in 2016, I will be making good use of Emporia Fitness again!"
"I have been a member of so many gyms and this is by far my favorite that I have tried, especially for the price. The child care is amazing, my 2 year old never wants to leave the play room. I go mid morning when it isn't so busy and never have a problem getting my workouts done on all the machines I want to use. I have used the tanning beds and hydro massage beds, 10/10. I had a personal training session with Derek and got to see all my body stats/measurements and we did a workout. He answered any questions I had and very very educated in all things fitness and nutrition. He made the work out fun and intense and tried to curate it to what exactly I was looking for. They offer continued training services, but don't pressure you into spending the money if it isn't what you want. I haven't tried it yet, but they offer many group exercise classes. I can't wait to try the spin class! All the staff has been great, seems like good culture. All around 10/10 place. Only $30 per month!"
"Awesome gym! Wide selection of equipment, super clean, friendly staff. Great atmosphere for all levels from beginner to hardcore. I am visiting from out of town where I am a 24 hour fitness member. If this was back home in San Diego, I would immediately cancel my membership and join OGKC!"
"Great gym with everything you need. I never have to wait on a machine or a bench. I stop in after 5pm and while it is busy you don't really seem to notice. All of the members are super nice. The facility is very clean. I always see ownership walking around and cleaning equipment."
"Just started but it seems ok. Went in with a mailer & they gave me a tour around the facility including the locker area, weights, group fitness rooms and cardio equipment. This was followed by a short sales pitch. I didn't want to sign up immediately, wanted a chance to try out the facility before committing and the representative seemed fine with that. I got a 3 day pass to come back and make sure it was a good fit, but everything seemed in good condition and rather new since the facility is less than a year old.I did notice that there was only a single disinfectant station for the entire, large cardio area so I can only assume that the equipment doesn't get regularly wiped down. I didn't see any employees doing maintenance nor clean up while I was there, but it was in the middle of the afternoon. Several stall in the restroom were out of TP, which does speak to a lack of attention but I'll be sure to note that on future reviews if it become an issue. Overall, it seems on the up-and-up. $199 enrollment fee waived for a $50 fee (with the mailer I brought in) along with a $50 processing fee (total $100 in fees for new members) then $20 for basic membership or $30 if you want to go to group classes....It did seem like a sale pitch, but hey, that's their job right? They have lots of equipment and it's all function, so that's all I really need in a gym."
"This is a really great gym. It's a pretty location and is not insanely overpriced. They always keep it clean. You can use the sauna, but you do have to pay a lot more for the other features which is kind of a bummer. They do offer a lot like IV and massage chairs. There's always a roof that is fully equipped and has a beautiful view of the plaza!"
"This place is a hidden gym in the Kansas City Area. If you are someone like intimidated to lift weights this is the place to start and learn. Jay, Scott, Sean and are amazing coaches. There is a build in program made for you depending on the type of workouts you are looking to adapt. Fit and strong is how I started. They are there to tweak your stance when needed. It is an Olympic lifting space and you get to use unique and quality equipment. The coaches are friendly and always willing to help."
"OK, I am an admitted serial country club hopper. I've been a member of 5 country clubs since my mid-20's and I have enjoyed them all. I decided to give up the country club life last year when I turned 35; my junior membership graduated to a Full Membership and my monthly bill skyrocketed to almost $1000 per month. When a country club exceeds their budget, they basically just add an additional charge to each members monthly bill to cover the loss. This is called an assessment and drives me insane because as a member you are obligated to pay the assessment along with your monthly dues. Most country clubs also have quarterly minimums that you must spend on food; if you don't dine at the club enough, the minimum amount is just charged to your bill. I just wasn't receiving a grand per month in value, so I grudgingly cancelled my membership and vowed to play public golf courses going forward....That didn't last long... Maybe a few months... Thankfully, I found the new Brookridge Golf Club in the Spring of 2010.Brookridge was purchased by a new owner in 2010 and now the memberships are structured more like Lifetime Fitness or Prairie Life than a typical country club. The junior membership age limit is 40 and the monthly dues are around $300. There are no food minimums although the club does offer a pretty decent food and bar service if you ever wanted to dine or have a few drinks after golf. The 18 hole championship course is one of the better layouts in KC. Brookridge also offers a 9 hole course that is more than adequate for a quick 9 holes after work in the summer. The club also offers a nice olympic size pool with diving board. 300 bones a month for the entire family, this is a heckuva a deal!It gets even better, most country clubs have large ball rooms that rarely get used. In my 10+ years of country club memberships, I have never attended a country club ball. Brookridge has converted the ball rooms to a 10,000 square foot fitness center with state of the art fitness equipment, weights, steam room, etc... Use of the fitness center is included with your golf membership. So, for most young golfers like myself, Brookridge is an extremely good value. I just want to play golf, maybe swim in the heat of the summer and occasionally have a few drinks at the club bar. If you want the big social events and black tie balls, Brookridge may not be the place for you. I like to play 3 or 4 holes each night after work with my 8 year old son so Brookridge works out wonderfully for me."
"Hands down this is one of the nicest gyms I've been to. Located in the former KMBC original tv station, this building preserves some of the historic architecture while adding contemporary touches. This downtown location also has a surface parking lot - you can park for FREE for up to 2 or 3 hours. Just take the ticket inside for a staffer to validate.Lots of group classes to choose from. Free weights, swimming pool, basketball court, machines, track and more. There's literally something for everyone. On my visit I took a cycle class with Mark. He is a great instructor. Listening to the top Pop hits distracted your brain from the leg burn. By the time class ended, I was soaking wet. The class was fun and hard.Amenities include: touchless faucets in the restrooms; water bottle filling stations and family changing rooms. The walking/running track above the other workout areas feels like you are suspended above them.If you don't have a membership, your first visit is free. I wish this location was closer, I'd go to this location all the time."
"My first impression of this gym is that it is so clean! It's also affordable, friendly, and has everything you need for a great workout. The staff are kind and welcoming. Great class offering. Clean showers. They offer fresh clean bath towels and sweat towels so you don't have lug your own back and forth. It's located in the Historic West Bottoms next to the Kemper Arena. I love the location. It's just a little over a mile from where I live downtown (merely a few minutes away from the River Market and the Power & Light District). The classes are included with the membership. Full disclosure, I liked the gym so much that I ended up getting a part-time job here."
"This place has come so far. The owners are present and the facilities are excellent. This is a great mix of folks who are looking to get healthier."
"Ok, so when it comes to working out, I am pretty much worthless. I can find a million excuses for not going to the gym or exercising everyday, I seem to have a 'gift' for it:)! That aside, 2016 came around and I had convinced myself that I was going to brake my old ways of thinking about staying fit and exercising, and that is when I discovered "Bodyfit"! This is one amazing location to workout! From beginners to advance levels of fitness Bodyfit has a class with a knowledgable coach for you. They even offer kickboxing lessons if you are in to that sort of thing. However, for the most part they are focused on "HIIT" or high intensity interval training; much like cross-fit but taken down to a level where people are not destroying their backs and becoming hulk monsters:) Per my discussion of laziness above, I signed up for 1 month of classes at a very cheap rate of $50; but, I only attended at most 5 classes. Now I keep telling myself that I am going to return to Bodyfit and really give it a serious go this time, yet I am building up the courage to do that:) All being said, no matter what your fitness level is, the trainers here will work with you to get your butt in shape and trust me it HURTS, but I know that had I stayed with the program I would likely be a good 15-20 pounds lighter as I lay here writing this review. It is my #1 choice of gyms in KC & as you can see they are willing to work with you on the pricing. I hope this inspires some to go hit the "cardio-weight" training hard at Bodyfit, because I guarantee that if you were to stick with the program for 6 months that you would be cut!P.S. they are the only gym in the KC metro area that is run 100% on green energy; solar panels and all! It is really quite cool & unique!"
