"I'm half European and enjoy having a place to buy ingredients to recreate my favorite meals and snacks that remind me of my childhood. Thanks to this market, I can do both!A friend of mine recommended this place to me and I was so excited to visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find a TON of ingredients, snacks, cooking utensils, etc. from the Balkans/Europe. The owner is kind and makes traditional meals that are frozen so you can take them home & enjoy. There's also a restaurant, which I didn't try, and tons of variety. If you're looking for some diversity or are from Europe, stop by this place and see what they have to offer. I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised."
"Okay, first of all, this isn't an ultra-modern (super selection) elite grocery store with fancy lights, colorful décor, over inflated prices, and whooplah superficial items made to look fresh and bucolic. If that is what you are looking for then either go elsewhere or move to the mega-suburbs. This grocery store appeals to the nostalgia of days past. The sort of store where you would purchase the basic items, and then a few in which you could make your own from scratch. Remember those days? I believe many now are appreciative of making things from scratch, save from boredom. But I digress, this store has a few isles, no chance in getting lost. It is simple, retro if you will, and not overly confident or trying to persuade you otherwise. It's plain and simply charm. I stop here from the other side of town, if I fancy to stop at the local coffee shop, and go come here to see what's on sale."
"This is a nice neighborhood grocery store. They have all the staple items you'd expect, the staff is always friendly, and it's easy enough to navigate. Recently they added on a wing around their deli, and it looks a little more suburban than the area but not a total eyesore. I often feel you can judge a grocery store by their produce quality, and here it's always pretty good if not a bit more expensive than other stores. They also have a nice bakery area, beer & wine, and all the candy my girls could ever want to find. Not a place I do my weekly shopping but absolutely fantastic for popping in for a quick thing here or there."
"I like ALDI's reasonable prices, good produce selection and healthy food options, so I am happy to have another store in my area. This store offered all the ALDI features I've become accustomed to including the $0.25 carts and a nice produce area. This location offers two fast staff checkouts and six self-checkouts.The aisles also seemed wider than other nearby stores - nice!Overall, very good!"
"A brand new, clean store. Rows of pristine stocked items. Low traffic, nobody know they are there. I haven't seen an ad in the Wednesday's grocery mailings. NO PHARMACY"
"A fantastic Dillons! I think this is the closest one to our home in Lee's Summit. I grew up shopping at Dillons in McPherson and Wichita. We saw that Leavenworth was blessed with a Dillons and couldn't get there fast enough. The staff was amazing! We did our Thanksgiving shopping here. Incredible prices and service!"
"This funky little shop is perfect for 39th Street. It's like if CVS had a bohemian brother and a hell of a lot less square footage to work with. With all the housing and apartments around here, this is no doubt a spot to walk down and pick up a six-pack, or snacks or whatever other gas-station type of provisions you're looking for... except gas. Might be nice if there were able to swing actual gas pumps here but again space is of the essence in this historic and already built up area of midtown.I've only been in a handful of times but they're nice folks and it fits the eclectic and cool nature of the rest of 39th Street West."
"Outstanding quality, excellent service, exceptional produce, meat, dairy and bread. Outstanding selection of canned and boxed goods. We got there just after 7pm, when the donuts are considered day old and boxes to sell by the dozen. There are plenty of selections in every department and on every aisle. Workers are helpful and even suggest sales or complimentary sides for main dishes. Checking out is easy, especially when you use your Dillon's card for fuel points. Free Friday and Saturday sales are exemplary. I love all of the Dillon stores. Never disappoints. They will even try to order an item if you ask."
"I've never had a better taco Tuesday. Or shall I say taco everyday!!!!! $1.35 for a taco. All day errday omg. Like how do you say no. Three tacos looks small but it's plenty. I feel like the wait is long but I've also been super starving every time so... could also just be me. Brush up on your Spanish skills though. This place is no joke! BRB, drooling."
"Everything is so fresh and worth the trip. Make sure to stop by the Olive bar and pick out a few items. Everyone working is very friendly and efficient with service. It was a piece of Sicily in Kansas City."
"Questionable area of town. Dicey sign adorns the marginally kept building. An area of Kansas City I expect to find--and reliably do--superb Mexican street food. The promise of things inside not found at the local suburban grocer. There it sits, beckoning like a beacon in the night: Hong Kong Supermarket. A place I cannot ignore, so yea, I'm so there. And while I normally don't address other reviewers, all two of them... some clarity. Asian food markets do not smell like those in the lily white suburbs from whence you traveled. They smell like fish. It's not a fault, it's a feature. Every one of them in every city I've ever been to inside and outside the U.S. and 3 continents, plenty, all about the same.Prices: dirt cheap. So much that my bottle of Vietnamese fish sauce, an interesting looking soy (wow, all soy tastes alike, nope! this stuff is da bomb!) I could read little of the label and two packages of Mama ramen (it's Thai) at .49 cents each--it's the BEST, my choice for backpacking--rang up under $5. I questioned: "I think I may owe you more." And then the first English I'd heard spoken inside answered, "I check." Nope, she was right. And yes, that was yours truly that took the photo of a pig's head in the butcher case, because, well, who doesn't like a good pig's head for viewing once in awhile? Wish I really knew how to cook one.So, yea, I think 3 stars is about right. Look, I don't believe anyone here thinks they're shopping at Eataly in NYC or their local Whole Wallet... sorry, is it Whole Foods? Nope, this area of town is urban hardscrabble, and the food here is for people that cannot or will not drive to 888 Market or near the City Market downtown and its abundant Asian grocers. Cheap? And how, and plenty of staples poor people afford as best they can. Would I come here again? In a heartbeat.NOTE to fellow Yelpers: get here fast to review, they're averaging one every 4 1/2 years. Hit the action early while it still counts."
"I've been fairly intrigued by this place since I started passing it almost everyday. It's actually called Wild Willy's Happy Food Center, it's painted all in brown and has a cowboy painted across. Honestly, it reminds me of a stereotypical country western establishment. I couldn't help but be intrigued, especially considering the surrounding neighborhood. Finally stopped in the other day. First off, I got the stare. You may not know what stare I'm talking about, but it's the stare you get when you don't quite fit in. Despite being dressed like a vagabond that day, I still got it. "Damn crazy white folks." Even the couple white folks that passed me gave me that look. But I digress.I walk in past the lovely gates and go through a turnstyle. It's a low end supermarket. What disappoints me is that the first thing you see when you walk in is bags of chips and other snack items for the first full row. My friend did a thesis or some other project on how markets in inner city areas don't promote health so it was really disheartening to see the first row as the chips aisle. The veggie aisle was next and really small. For the most part it's like your average city supermarket. Nothing special. There were two things that did make it stand out, though. If you need hot sauce, this place has the best damn supermarket collection I ever seen. Also, please see Exhibit A (the picture above). That alone makes me want to give the place 5 stars."

Good hearted hard working staff and awesome variety of produce, bakery, meats, etc. Sun Fresh has become much cleaner and better organized over the course of 2-3 years. If you were away for a time, come back! Thanks to the team for being so good to customers and keeping the store clean and fresh. When many businesses shut down the owners in the Summer of 2020 allowed workers from other places to come to work for pay at Sun Fresh wearing their shirts from restaurants, bars, various closed shops. This was an intentional, bring owners to the table and offer a solution thing I'll never forget!

I'm a fan of this neighborhood grocery store, nestled in charming Brookside. It has been around now for a long time, long enough to really become a staple of the area, and it feels the same to me walking in now as it did when I lived in the neighborhood about twelve years ago. Back when I worked down the street from here, and lived nearby, I used to pop in here frequently for beer, wine, and to indulge in their great salad bar. I don't often find myself grocery shopping in this part of town any longer, but when I do I always notice that they still have a great selection of local items, including beer and wine. AND, they still rock a great salad bar. I popped in here most recently thinking I might try one of the waldo take and bake pizzas that I'd heard were rumoured to be available, and was a bit sad that I would have to get thin crust to get any meats on a 'za. Definitely not Cosentino's fault, but that would be an improvement as I'm not a waldo thin crust fan. At any rate, I think you'll find most of what you need here at a somewhat reasonable price. I'd put prices somewhere in between whole foods and price chopper. While you might pay a little more than going down the street to Price Chopper, you'll find a cleaner shop, and tons more local options, which I always enjoy. Now that I live a little bit further out I find visiting this grocery store to be a bit nostalgic, and I enjoy seeing what little treasures I can find if I find myself here.

What a beautiful grocery store! I would say this is one of the largest Aldi's in the area, and on opening day (Dec 4th), it was fully stocked. I loved seeing the selections of cheese, vegetables, frozen items, and Christmas decor/ gifts at this store. The items that are usually sold out at other Aldi's were available here. Definitely will be returning to this location soon! It is in a perfect location, the staff is friendly, the store is clean, and hopefully it will continue to be as stocked and well maintained as it was today!

I was in the area for work and had my in-laws coming into town later that evening so thought I'd take advantage of Missouri selling alcohol in grocery stores and pop in to pick up some of my mother in law's favorite wine, and some IPAs for my father in law. When you walk in it's a really clean and gorgeous grocery store. If I lived nearby I could certainly see the appeal of visiting here as the shopping experience is really pleasant. While I didn't purchase anything from the produce area the food all looked really fresh and was well presented. I meandered through and picked up a few odds and ends before landing in the liquor section which is what I stopped in for. They had a good selection and reasonable prices for a grocery store, and I found what I came for which was great! The reason this isn't a five star grocery store is because they sold me super expired IPAs. I was feeling really proud of myself for finding a mix pack of Brooklyn IPAs for only $16 and it wasn't until I got home to Overland Park that I realized that they were not only expired, but that they expired in November of 2022. Now, if you know anything about beers you know that yes, there are some that age well and can be consumed years past their "best by" date, but IPAs are not in that variety. I also know that drinking these beers isn't necessarily dangerous, but still I felt like if they were going to sell them to me they should have made it clear how far past the date they were. If I lived closer I would have returned them, but it wasn't worth the drive. I've had a few of them and they aren't bad but you can tell that the flavor is off since they likely were brewed a long time ago. At any rate, selling expired beer is sadly not an uncommon thing to find, so overall this is still a great store but if you're shopping for beers I'd take the time to confirm the dates on the cans before checking out.

I started working nearby so I stop by their deli area when I don't bring my lunch. I was so excited to see they have poke bowls!! I live in Overland Park and out there one by one all the poke places are closing. I am so happy they have this, and their sushi is pretty good too. One time they were sold out and the lady behind the counter asked if she could make me something. It was so sweet! I am now a regular.

OMG. Mr. Z! I'm a fan strictly for the fact they have Mr. Z t-shirts. I bought my dad one for father's day since afterall, he is Mr. Z.

They tore down the old Dillon's at this location and built a brand spanking new one about a year ago and this one is pretty sweet. It is the best supermarket in Newton by far. They have a large selection of fresh veggies and fruits, fresh made salad and anti-pasta bars priced by the pound, fresh made albeit mediocre Chinese food, a bakery, decent seafood selection, and a pharmacy. They keep the place well stocked and clean. The place is pretty big and open 24x7. The only downside is it's a bit expensive... Now if they could just start stocking some Odwalla juices.

"Store is very clean and well stocked. The employees are friendly. What more can you ask for?Management team is doing a great job!"
"Nice locally owned grocery store with great meat selection, bakery and friendly staff!"
"Behold, Abarrotes Durango, a grocery store and casual dining spot so off the Yelp radar, if you drove by, you likely never gave it a thought. You were thinking, "Hell no, I ain't stopping THERE!" Mistake. I've corrected this error twice this week. Never reviewed, until now. Meets my strict requirements of desirability for the ultimate dining experience:1) bars on the windows, bad area of town2) small restaurant in the grocery store, run by the butcher3) brightly colored walls, preferably green, red or orange.4) I'm the only gringo in the place5) great people that make you want to return6) FANTASTIC foodRight under our collective noses, one of the better in the city (my opinion after two visits). Yea, not a great area of town, but damn if they don't do one dish that will have me coming back regularly: tripe tacos. Disclaimer: I cannot do menudo. I've tried. Spongy tripe in menudo is chewy, tastes like a wet dog smells (this is what everyone says, not just me) and is a textural thing I've decided is not for me. Ah, but fried up crispy, served in street style tacos with onions, lime, cilantro. Taste bud heaven, like nothing I've ever had. Best damn taco I've had in the city, hands down, with apologies to my beloved Bonito Michoacan. Sorry, Bonito, but they have you beat with the tripe. Everything else, not so much. The other dishes? I had the carnitas today. Good, not terrific, but the tripe tacos once again were as good as a Salvador Perez grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied at Royals Stadium. The rice and beans, solid, small salad served with a generous slice of avocado, perfectly ripened. Two sauces, both 4-alarm and clearly made in house. Small Mexican Cokes in glass bottles for us, Jarritos available in the case if you wish. $6.99 for a massive plate of carnitas, rice & beans, salad. Half of it came home. Dining companion flipped out over the taco plate, all tripe. If like me you dig "joints," and like to mingle with locals, crave real food made by real people, locally made tortillas and meat the cook carved himself, this is your place. If you're afraid of the Lexus possibility getting a scratch, are scared of brown people, or prefer a margarita on the rocks with salt from the Power & Light District, move on brother and sister. No alcohol served here.If you go: small parking lot to the East of the store. Credit cards accepted, check out the fine meat selection where you order your food. I brought home a pound of locally made chorizo. Only 3 tables, the air conditioning is not necessarily the greatest. People here on two visits clearly know there's something special going on. Taking a friend to KCI for an early flight a week from this Saturday and instead of hightailing it back to Lawrence, their Huevos Rancheros will be mine for breakfast that morning."
"I always like Aldi and did you know they tore down the old and made it new, it looks so much better, the price are good and if you time it right you can get in and out quickly, it's easy to get to across from Lowe's, the parking lot is good it's like a rectangle, talk to the staff which is friendly, the set up is different from the other stores, milk and cooler is on the right side as you walk in, produce is at the front of the store"
"Good food, good service. Very friendly staff. Took a drive from Eureka and wasn't disappointed. Will be back. We tried the chicken and brisket. Both were very good."
"I had absolutely no idea that olive oil and vinegar could be so good that I'd be slurping them out of a sample cup, but, here we are.The first olive oil I ever tried from Tasteful Olive came beneath the clock tower just footsteps from their store. It was a green chile oil sample with eggs as there was a demo going on for the farmers market. The spice was real, the flavor was incredible and I went in to buy a small bottle right away. This place is perfect for the healthy eaters who want to bolster meals in a flavorful/heart healthy way. The staff is super-engaging and involved in the local community which comes through in a big way. You can also find a gift for just about anyone. The flavors get pretty creative, and while this is an upscale shop, you can find a bottle size to fit the budget. I'm a huge fan, and after trying about a dozen, I still think it's tough to top the green chile olive oil drizzled over eggs and peppers... ohhh man."
"It's been fascinating watching folks reject Fareway Meat Market once it took over for much loved McGonigles. Unpopular opinion here: I don't think much has changed. Yes, I agree that it's a massive shame to have such a local gem purchased by a larger grocer, but I'm happy that it still feels very much the same, meaning they have maintained the charm of the original place. It's still a charming, VERY SMALL, meat market that specializes in the butcher shop and specialty foods. I still enjoy meandering through the too small for standard shopping cart aisles, delighting in random new products that I haven't seen before, and ultimately purchasing meat from the wonderful butcher shop. I think they even still sell sandwiches, though, I was there too early in the day to really speak to that. Overall the only quip I had was just that they do always seem to be a bit grumpy in there, but I did enjoy my visit and my family does still come here to get meat when we are preparing to smoke something or have a nice steak dinner."
"Vey cozy place , clean and reliable. Food is excellent. They have pelmeni and others staf. They have live music on weekends. Highly recommend this place"
"I went there to buy a birthday cake. I've had a hard time finding a good birthday cake from a grocery store since moving here. I finally found it! If you're from the SE, this is as close to Publix as you'll get out here. It might even be better but that is TBD... very similar though. I'm so happy I found it."
"Good place to get gas if you're west-bound and want to fill out before entering the Flint Hills. Nothing fancy: gas, gas-station fare, and lottery tickets."
"This is a really great grocery/liquor store in the northland. The liquor store area is so cool...I go there when I need a weird mixer or unusual drink that I can't find elsewhere and they always have what I want. Today it was orangecello and I picked up a passion fruit liquor for some fun mixed drinks I wanted to recreate from a recent vacation. The grocery store has a large selection of everything with decent prices. They also serve hot food and the fried chicken is very good. This is the kind of grocery store that you want to wander around in and find something new to try, especially the liquor store."
"Was in town and decided to stop in. I am not very familiar with Atchison, so when I saw the store I decided I'd stop in just to get me a little snack. First of all if you've ever been to Atchison it is a small town but has a lot of confusing buildings and streets. Some streets go one way some streets go another way, and there's like two big Bridges within the small town. people Park under the bridge, drive beside the bridge and go over the bridge. It is one of the weirdest little towns I've ever seen. That being said explains the location of the store. The store is located in kind of a block of other stores all facing in different directions. the store sits next to a Sears store and they're all facing One Direction. Other buildings to the right and the left of them that are facing another directions. If it sounds confusing then that ought to tell you how confusing it is to find the store. That being said, if you're looking for a store that's small but efficient this store is it. It's nothing to really brag about, but what I did like was parking was right in front of the store, which is kind of weird because most stores have huge parking lots but the way this store is situated there's only one row of parking directly in front of the store. I actually like that. The Isles are wide enough, but the store is very small inside. I also liked that was it was clean, it was neat. the prices were okay, could be a little cheaper but not bad. The best thing was the customer service and I looked at the communication between the staff and the customers. Being born in a big city I'm used to going into stores where you don't know the people that are serving you. This is a disservice when you come to a small town and you see that everyone knows each other, they're all smiling laughing and talking as they're checking out their customers. They all know each other therefore there's a comfort level when you shop there. That was the best feature of the store. If I'm ever in Atchison again I may stop in and do more shopping. Hopefully it'll become a place where everybody knows my name"
"I was next door and saw the this place and all the things that they offered listed on their window. I went inside and was blown away because I had no idea this place existed. They have such a wide variety of items from produce and frozen groceries to cell phone accessories and alcohol. They offer cell phone repair and have a few food "stands" there. They sell smoothies, fresh juice, ice cream, fried fish tacos and so much more. They also have a small counter available for those who want to dine in. This place is pretty awesome and I think it's amazing how many things you can find here."
"I enjoyed the adventure of philandering through this country store for fresh goods of all kinds. From watermelon to cantaloupe, chow chow, fruit salsa, delightful meats & much more. The prices weren't bad, the store was a fairly decent size which made for a wonderful shopping experience. I'd say it was well worth the trip."
"The best time to go is 8:30am on stock day. The staff used to be more helpful but the self service checkouts make it so you hardly see anyone while you're there. As should be expected, produce is spotty. And that's why I go at open on stock day. Be prepared to have full families of 5-7 there on weekends and Friday evening especially."
"I've been going to Joong-Ang Oriental Market for as long as I can remember, and it's always been one of my favorite places to shop. This small, family-owned store has a fantastic selection of Korean groceries, and they've done a great job of updating their stock over the years to keep up with changing tastes and trends.Their Korean red bean pastries are a particular favorite of mine, and I always make sure to grab some Gimbap (Korean sushi rolls) if they have them (usually on the weekends). Their prices are very reasonable and last time we went, we couldn't stop putting things in our basket! Definitely a great little Korean/Oriental market to check out!"
"The name is Macaluso's and it is actually in claycomo, MO. I absolutely love this place. I go there for lunch at least four times per week. Even better, the hot entrees change daily. If you like ribs, meatloaf, chicken, etc, this is a place for you. The food is made fresh daily, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for? By the way, Macaluso's may have the best panini sandwich in the area. They also have freshly smoked italian sausage. My personal favorite is the macaroni and cheese. Just be careful driving when you go there, it is right next to those idiots at the claycomo police station."
"A hidden gem at 79th and Quivira! This is a grocery store that specializes in Mexican food. You can purchase ingredients such as corn husks, masa, and Mexican cheeses that cannot be found at other area grocery stores, and if you're not feeling like cooking they have a wide variety of delicious hot food ready to eat! I am so happy I found Mi Pueblito Market. It's clean, well stocked with products, and the employees are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend for authentic Mexican ingredients and pre-made food."
"We ate at the Cafe there and it was both delicious and affordable. Great people, great service. We will definitely make a trip back there for breakfast and or lunch specials. They can meet plenty of your needs with convenience without having to make a trip to Walmart as well. We got some cinnamon rolls to go made by the local Amish and sold at this market."
"Freshly made sandwiches a great hot bar and delicious bakery selection. Good place to fill up on everything you need"
"There is not much in this store, I bought a pastry and it was not edible, hard and dried out. Nothing else to add."
"This place is starting to become a shell of it's former self. IMHO the Chinese/Korean powerhouse grocery stores in the City Market/JoCo-Metcalf area are finally starting to put a squeeze on this place. Products here are now consistently more expensive than their southern competition. I also ran into a few other canned products that were expired. It's pretty darn hard to expire canned food. And to my wife's sad dismay, the ampalaya (Bitter Gourd or Bitter Melon) is always rotten in the box. It's not even worth trying to sort through the mold covered veggies. And for what I think is the final deathblow, the store is losing it's family first agenda. You used to always see the whole family here joking around and engaging customers. On my last few trips, there's new folks there that don't even recognise the clientele. I hope this place can turn it around. But if they don't expand their product line and price things competitively, they are going to suffer the fate of their restaurant, La Filipina Cafe."
"This is the best place in the greater Kansas City area to buy tea and tea accessories. They offer you a sample tea when you walk in. They will give you the recipe if it is not a straight tea. They gave me a magnet that had instructions on how to brew your best cup of tea ever. If you are of English, Scottish, or Irish decent you will find fun items suitable to displaying your heritage. They sell a wide variety of loose teas. There is a small selection of UK specific groceries that you might miss while in the states. This is a great place to buy gifts for the tea drinker in your life."
