"Everything is so fresh and worth the trip. Make sure to stop by the Olive bar and pick out a few items. Everyone working is very friendly and efficient with service. It was a piece of Sicily in Kansas City."
"Just moved in the area and ordered pizza from there for the first time. Amazing! Nifty little store with all the last minute things you need. Will be back for sure!"
"I've never had a better taco Tuesday. Or shall I say taco everyday!!!!! $1.35 for a taco. All day errday omg. Like how do you say no. Three tacos looks small but it's plenty. I feel like the wait is long but I've also been super starving every time so... could also just be me. Brush up on your Spanish skills though. This place is no joke! BRB, drooling."
"I was next door and saw the this place and all the things that they offered listed on their window. I went inside and was blown away because I had no idea this place existed. They have such a wide variety of items from produce and frozen groceries to cell phone accessories and alcohol. They offer cell phone repair and have a few food "stands" there. They sell smoothies, fresh juice, ice cream, fried fish tacos and so much more. They also have a small counter available for those who want to dine in. This place is pretty awesome and I think it's amazing how many things you can find here."

Sure, you might pay a little more. And yes, sometimes parking is not the easiest thing to do. But if you want gourmet Italian groceries, then this is the best game in town.I've stepped up my kitchen game as I've gotten older. I tend to appreciate nuances in better olive oil, imported tomatoes, and different flavorings to add to dishes like pasta or risotto. I can find genuine, imported goods at Carollo's at prices that I'm willing to meet. The deli selection is off the chart, whether you're getting cured meats, imported cheeses, or even a sandwich to go. I tend to buy a little bit more each time so that I can have pancetta on hand in the freezer or fresh Parmesan for whenever I'm going to be making pasta, which is frequently. The space can get a little crowded, but the staff is always friendly and moves through lines quickly. Selections at the olive bar are really worth the try and if you're feeling like you need something sweet, then cannoli shells are on hand just waiting for you to fill them at home. It's an authentic, old-style grocery with everything you would need for the fresh eats. I highly recommend taking some steps up the olive oil quality ladder, because you can really tell the difference it makes in various dishes, and even as a dressing. Sure, you can order online, but that defeats the point of taking a step into an authentic Italian grocery and enjoying a small slice of Kansas City.

Love the take and bake pizzas! So delicious when baked in your oven and obviously it doesn't have a chance to get cold like others that are delivered.Desserts offered are cake slices, tiramisu, etc. $6 slice of tiramisu keeps getting smaller, which is a bummer.

My favorite place to buy meat is now my second favorite place for a solid street taco. I had the Al Pastor - it was very clean, very fast, and extremely affordable - par for the course in street-taco fare, so that's great. Stop by, grab a few tacos, some Arrachera to go, and some Dulce Pan for the road!Just a message to the owner: I'm the guy that bought that 45 pounds of Arrachera with lower salt. It turned out great! The meat tasted incredible after the evening on ice; your seasoning method worked perfectly. The salsa worked out as well. We made 450 tacos in two hours, and everyone ate all of it - I think we had .5 pounds left. Thank you for your time, and patience. I hope to do it again sometime in the future.

I heard that Midtown Market had about everything, so with a 1/2 hour to kill before a reservation down the street, we stopped to see if we could find a quick espresso. Although they couldn't accommodate my caffeine fix, I was amazed at what they did have. This grocery store space was a Thriftway back in the early 90's when I worked on the block for a few years. What a significant upgrade to that dingy dirty store back in the last century. An LC's hamburger is on the north wall and a juice / ice cream stand is on the south. In-between is a combination liquor store, c-store, full line grocery selection with plenty of ethnic / import items to accommodate the surrounding diverse neighborhoods, and what I found the most entertaining was the large selection of candy; ranging from novelty, high end, retro and hard to find. I walked out with some Bob Ross Happy Little Tree Mints and beer flavored Jelly-Bellys for a gift. Tons of ideas for unique birthday or stocking stuffer type items when the time comes. Who doesn't need some Dr. Pepper Cotton Candy, a 5 lb. gummy bear or insect candies?Midtown Market should have a bright future with it's clean and diverse selection to serve the area, especially with the streetcar expansion and a stop with-in a block.

"Although World of Spirits can't really compete on prices and selection for the most part, they still deserve 5 stars and here is why:1. For such a small space they manage to throw in a pretty good selection of most things, including beer and wine, which is more than I can say about some business with a lot more available space.2. Although many of their items are priced higher than nearby competitors, most of the prices are still pretty reasonable, especially considering that this place is in some ways a convenience store.3. All of the employees have always been very nice to me as well as helpful when I have had any questions. And finally, they are open for all major hoildays! I can't tell you how many times I've had to scramble for some Single Malt Scotch or extra wine on Christmas and they have been my savior."
"I noticed a new new Asian market just open up not too long ago on College and Antioch. Decided to check then out after filling up my car at the QTrip in front. Upon entering they also do sushi for carryout. Place the order at the counter. The store itself is small and organized. They seem to have products from Thailand and Korea, that's just what I noticed. They have a couple of freezer for frozen food items and a couple of cooler for drinks and produces. After talking to the store owner, they have been in business for 3 months now. He's very friendly and tells me they get produce deliveries on Fridays. Glad to see another Asian market close to me. Support local independent retailers instead of going to big box chain."
