"A friend told us about Aladdin. Yum! We started with the hummus and gyro meat appetizer. Absolutely delicious. Eating half of this was my lunch with a side salad. The dressing was very unique and tasty. Hubby got the gyro and rice. He loved the gyro but didn't care for rice. During our visit, the restaurant was pretty cold. It was a cold day in KC. We'll definitely be back. Food: 5/5Facility: 3/5 Service: 4/5Ambiance: 3/5 (nothing fancy but that's okay)Value: 4/5"
"I visited Lawrence for the first time and met some friends at the Mad Greek. What a great recommendation! The restaurant had a nice patio and indoor seating. Parking is metered in front but there is a 2 hour free lot behind. Be sure to order the Saganaki (flaming cheese) appetizer because when your server brings the cheese to your table and lights it on fire the whole restaurant shouts "opa!" The gyros and dolmades are also not to be missed."

"I came in craving a homemade meal and wow was I blown away! My partner and I shared one meal and still came home with leftovers. We wanted to try the Kibbah which is stuffed with ground beef and onions. They had fantastic flavor and was seasoned very well. We also ordered the baba ghanouj served with warm pita bread, I prefer this over hummus personally. The last thing we shared was the creamy chicken and sun-dried tomatoes, it comes over a bed of rice. The service was great overall and super fast! We were in and out in probably 30-40 minutes. It's such a cute and unique restaurant tucked away off of Metcalf."
"Papu's hits that unique niche of being gas-station restaurant that pulls it off pretty well. I love Mediterranean cuisine in general, so I've visited Papu's a handful of times over the years. For starters, you can order online and I really prefer that for takeout. It's a well oiled machine and makes for a quick pickup. The food can be pretty good for a fast option; the chicken shawarma flavor is pretty good. I have some constructive tweaks on some other items. The shawarma sandwich has good flavor but everything could stand to be cut up a bit more. Huge long strands of lettuce and red onion, and large chicken chunks make it hard to eat.The hummus is rough here. It has very little flavor, and it's gritty and watery. While it'll be hard for me to be a regular here, I'm always open to giving a few other menu items a try here and there."
"Mr. Gyros is one of my favorite places to grab a gyro. I always get the classic gyro. The pita is always soft and chewy. The meat is flavorful and tender. The tzatziki adds a nice creaminess to the sandwich. I also like the Greek salad. The produce is always fresh and I absolutely love their Greek vinaigrette. I usually even add some to my gyro. If you go during lunch they run a special-any sandwich plus a side soup or salad for $10.95 (I believe but prices could fluctuate.)I also like the dolmades or stuffed grape leaves. They have great flavor and it's a fun unique thing to order."
"This is a hidden gem in Raymore. Actually hidden in a strip mall. They're open for breakfast & lunch and both are amazing! For breakfast we always get the Greek omelette. Their biscuits and gravy and so good and cheap! For lunch they have the best Rueben in Kansas City! And their gyros are my favorite around. They make everything from scratch including their breads for their sandwiches, tzatziki and thousand island on the Rueben's. Don't forget to pick up one of their many homemade desserts, or coffee!"
"Their large salad portion is huge!!!!I got the Greek salad with chicken. A very good portion on top and it was marinated so well. I should have just gotten the regular portion, I only ended up eating about half of the greens.Service was lovely, but we didn't know that you pay up front. I got a piece of walnut baklava to go, it was a really small slice that was 3.50$..We did ask for a box to go for another meal, but the box had flakes of something in it. We were in a hurry so we just wiped it off and used it anyway..."
"On a recent visit to the Mission area of town, we were on the hunt for something yummy for the whole family...Enter Kinzi!Lots of great reviews, awesome location on Johnson Drive, and a super yummy-looking menu brought us here for lunch on a late 2023 Friday. The dining room is nice, comfortable, and clean - very standard fare for a strip mall setup. It's open seating inside, so we grabbed a comfy booth on the wall, and were promptly provided menus and waters.Three out of four of us ordered miscellaneous, myriad, Mediterranean meats and eats. Our "picky" eater always provides us a bit of a challenge. Upon asking, our waitress graciously agreed to a "plain rice-and-chicken" dish that the kitchen could whip up to satisfy his tastebuds. Perfect! All the food came out quickly, and was utterly, absolutely delicious! I asked for extra spice in my biryani, and I'm glad I did, as even with the "extra", it was what I would rate a moderate-mild level of spice. But, said biryani, falafel, all dips, gyro and rice were all fantastic! Our waitress appeared to be the only person working the entire dining room, so, while she kept pretty busy, it did make for slightly slow service at each table. Prices were on par with what you would expect - not high, not low. Family of four with entrees for all, one appetizer, and waters all around ended up at ~$75 including tip.Food = 5/5Facility = 4/5Service = 3/5Ambiance = 3/5Value = 3/5"
"I love Greek food! I was in the area to drop off a friend to her car and drove past Tasso's and immediately knew what I was having for dinner. This is an authentic Greek restaurant. The meals and drinks are rather pricey but worth it. On the weekend they put on a live show where the patrons can participate. Opa! Have you ever wanted to learn how to belly dance? Well, come here and you can learn for free! If your life is full of stress and frustration and you are looking for a way to release it, come to Tasso's and pay $3 per plate to break (literally on their floor and they will sweep it up).Seriously, it's a family fun environment. The owner is very nice and accommodating."

We went here for lunch after a game of hockey in a tournament nearby. We were a bit hungry and we wanted to try Mediterranean as we don't have that much good choices back home. This place stood out because of the location. The entrance is not that pleasant because they have the restroom at front, so the smell of the restroom is what welcomes you. There were plenty of parking spot at front which is good. There's also street parking available. There was only one server that day, so our order was taken a bit longer. But the lady was very nice and I really have nothing negative to say, it's just the wait time. The first food came out, the Baba Ghanoush, and it was super good!! It came with pita bread and we ordered an extra because the baba ghanoush is plenty for just one serving of their pita. Our main dish came, and it's worth the wait. We loved their food, the serving is just right and you'll know that these are freshly made. I loved specifically their kids meal, those gyro on top of the fries was perfect for my little boy. He loves fries and this meal was perfect for him. He ate the gyro meat with no issues, he loved it. I also like what I had, which is their Alladin combo Gyro. The meat was plentiful, and I shared it with my wife. The rice is OK, a bit on the hard side, but the taste is good.Overall, this is a really good place to have lunch.

My frst review since ownership change!!Interior is unchanged. Service was as fast and pleasant as always. And I'm happy to report that the chicken shawarma is as delicious as ever. The pita bread was fresh and the hummus was wonderfully smooth and tasty.A little constructive feedback: I'd much prefer separate plates for lunch. 1st plate for the salad, pita and hummus 2nd plate for rice and meat Today my salad was half buried under my rice which meant it was hot and soggy by the time I dug it out. The kunafa is a wonderful dessert, go ahead be adventurous and order something other than baklava!

Despite all the bad jokes and movie one liners about "gas station food" Papou makes it work. This Mediterranean restaurant is located in the convenience store of a small gas station and the food is really good. The gyros are hot and tasty what do you have as a sandwich, or with a side of rice. I especially enjoyed their falafel sandwiches, because it's hard to find falafel in the Kansas City area. People are always friendly and there's a few tables to sit and eat quietly.

This place is surprisingly neat! Loved the building with its clean, modern architecture. The inside is very inviting, lots of seating and natural light! They were busy with take out orders so we had to wait for our food for a little bit. Our number was finally called so we got up to pick them up at the counter. All dinners came with a small Greek Salad. I ordered the Salmon Dinner which also came with rice which was a lot for a tiny piece of salmon. It was pretty good though. The Greek Salad was fresh and you can taste the olive oil in the dressing. Chris had the Souvlaki Dinner which also came with rice. He said the beef was very tender and flavorful and he liked the tzatziki as well. Rhi had the Chicken plate but ate mostly the Chicken and the na'an. She obviously isn't a salad fan. Lol. The place is clean and very inviting. If you're looking for a healthy place to eat, Mr. Gyro is your place.

If you are a human being and you enjoy eating, you need to come and visit Yafa Café! LOLSeriously, it is some of the BEST and most FRESH Mediterranean food in the area. Both ladies who helped us were so kind!! It's a small dining area (fits about 25 people).Let's dive into a few details:1) Hummus - light and creamy, served with olive oil and herbs2) Pita bread - freshly grilled, warm, soft, lovely stretchy texture, perfect for scooping up that hummus or baba ganoush!3) Baba Ganoush - absolutely excellent. Best in the city. Served with olive oil, herbs, and a small bit of spicy sauce on the edge (easy to avoid, easy to enjoy!)4) lentil soup - creamy! Wonderful flavor. I'm sure it's authentic in texture, I would enjoy a little bit more texture.5) salad - pretty simple, but fresh as can be!6) pistachio baklava - great flavor and texture7) hareeseh - sweet cake bread, kind of like cornbread. It's sweetened with a rosewater simple syrup, but it was not overly rosey. Fun to try!Mixed Kabobs for Two Plate! (truthfully could serve 4 adults IMO)1) chicken - so well flavored, and not overcooked and dry.2) kufta - well flavored! Loved the warm spices and fresh herbs. I've had dry kufta before, and this was anything but dry!3) lamb - soft/tender, and they let the natural taste come through - not bland.4) rice - do not underestimate a good rice to balance out the meal. Yum!5) freshly grilled veggies - such good depth of flavor!!!!! grilled to perfection - nothing was soggy or undercooked. Loved the grilled flavor.6) tzatziki sauce - of course, so good! You had better believe it Batool (Yafa's LOVELY owner) - we will be back!!!! I need to get another job so I can enjoy many more Yafa meals!!! :)

Great authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The hummus and pita were fresh and excellent flavor. The saffron rice has a nice spice and flavor to it as well. Overcooked the lamb a bit to my taste but my husband liked it with the crunch. Great place to grab a gyro or a plate to go. Not a great ambience for dining room as it is old and dated, smoky from cooking but the service was really good.

"Well, this is embarrassing. We've lived around the corner from Greek Cuisine for no less than eight years, yet, we just now finally popped in for supper!Commence with egg on face. The food here is awesome! Wifey and I ordered enough to kill a horse, wanting to try a little bit of (almost) everything! ZERO regrets on that, though, as everything was very, very good! All the greek favorites are here, and everything was fresh and awesome! We admitted to the lovely lady working the counter that it was our first visit, and she was tremendously helpful with assisting in our selections! She even talked us into a couple extra things (see aforementioned note on over-ordering!), and the recommendations were perfect! We chose to eat on-premise, which was a clean, if a bit sparse, dining room. We were the only patrons to dine in that evening, but the counter was NON-STOP with to-go traffic and order pickup. I'd guess that no less than 20 folks ordered while we ate (and moaned for a few minutes after finishing) on site over a 30 minute span! That said, if you are really into the "festive" side of eating in a Greek restaurant, such as at one of our other favorites in town (rhymes with "masso's"), you may be a bit let-down with the straight forward approach here.We will be frequent flyers here now for the amazing food and service!Food = 5/5Facility = 3/5Service = 5/5Ambiance = 1/5Value = 3/5"
"Paros has great food and excellent service. My Greek friends say this is actually better than their mother makes. The owner/chef is usually on site making sure the service and food quality are top notch."
"ordered the sandwich and it was great actually saved it for the next day and the meat was still tender and tastewill return"
"Online ordering and pickup was very easy! Staff was very nice and had my food ready in no time at all. I got the Gryo plate to go and it was delicious and everything tasted very fresh! Definitely will be going back to try something else."
"Mr. Gyros is always a go to place for me. I work very close to the Leawood location and and time I forgot my lunch at home or needing something in a pinch, Mr. Gyros comes through for me. I always get the chicken plate. I don't know what they marinate their chicken in but it is absolutely delicious. I love getting fresh hot pita to dip in the tzatziki sauce. This is great if you are needing to pick up and go or dine in and enjoy. I know some of my co workers also love the gyro meat which I haven't tried before. I definitely recommend going if you are in the area. It is consistently good and I have never had a back experience. Friendly staff and food is ready fast!"
"I ordered the Gyro Plate - large. It came with several slices of beef and lamb gyro meat, pieces of pita and tzikki sauce. Choice of rice (I chose yellow) and choice of hummus or babaganush (I chose hummus). Plus a mall salad with a tasty vinaigrette type dressing, tomato, cheese, onion and cucumbers on top of lettuce. Really good. Self serve drinks."
"This is a fun vegetarian friendly stop in Independence with one of the largest lemonades I have ever had- and it was SOOOOO GOOD. The merch is cheeky and funny! The food was amazing! I got the vegetarian platter with spinach pie, falafel, grape leaves, hummus and the lentil soup and saffron rice! I also ordered rice pudding for dessert too. Not only were the portions more than generous, the staff was so accommodating answering my questions and making sure all the food was vegetarian friendly that I ordered! It's a great stop for fresh and healthy mediterranean flavorful food."
"I think this is the best Gyro in the city. And there are a LOT of good gyros here!I've shopped here a few times before and today was hoping/thinking they'd have orange blossom water, plus was also ravenous... This gyro is exactly what I needed. Fresh, hot meat. Crisp onions and lettuce and actually ripe tomatoes. Lots of lovely tzatziki. Fresh, chewy, warm naan. And I had to try the pistachio baklava so I have a baseline to consider when making my baklava rice krispie treats (which is what the orange blossom water is for). Next trip I'm diving into one of their Mediterranean pizzas..."
"Great dinner, about $30 for Beef Gyro, chicken salad and gyro fries. 2 people and we couldn't finish it all. Great taste, well seasoned. Love the dressing."
"Food is consistently good and tasty! Greek salads are large, delicious and filled with goodness, A definite go to at every meal. Plenty of seating for small or larger groups.Excellent quick service with this wonderful family owned business. Our new local go to restaurant!"
"Unexpected excellence in Columbia, Missouri. My daughter said greek/Italian/pizza and we were skeptical. But the food and service are excellent! They offer gluten free pizza crust and were very accommodating to my special order.Highly recommend giving this place a try! The spanikopita appetizer was a fave along with the staple T Ravs."
"The chicken and rice soup was delicious, loaded with chicken and had a nice lemonade flavor to it. The Hercules gyro is loaded with both chicken and gyro meat and was delicious"
