"Teetering isn't the best course in town, but it is a fun course. The atmosphere is a little laid back, and most greens can be reached with a mid to short iron or wedge, which makes it a great course for beginners, kids, and seniors or experienced players who want to work on their short game. It's a great course for a date for golfing couples too.You won't mistake the greens for Falcon Ridge or Alvamar, but greens fees are cheap and you get what you pay for. The highlights of the course are a shot off a cliff to a heart shaped green on #3, #7's dramatic dogleg, and elevated greens at #10, #14, and #18 plus peaceful cart paths through the woods and comfortable clubhouse."
"For my 100th review I decided to review Dub's Dread Golf Course. This golf course is probably one of the most challenging courses around. The fairways are lined with trees and lot's of natural grass, so if you get off of the fairway you will be in trouble on most holes. This used to be the longest golf course in the area, but now the back tee's play 7100 yards. If you are a novice, this course will easily take you about 5+ hours and 2 dozen balls. Otherwise, you can get through it in about 4 1/2 hours. The #1 hole is a par 5, 515 yards (black tees) and has a serious dog leg right. This would be a slicers heaven, but you cannot afford to leak right as there are trees that will block your shot to the hole to be on in two. Your best bet, is to go for a 300 yard drive down the middle. The fairway starts to roll down hill and to the right so chances are your ball will start to fade to the right anyway. The green is on a slight up hill and is well guarded with sandtraps to the right and left of the green. That's just the first hole. The rates aren't bad, I don't get to come out as much because there are about 10 courses between me and them and chances are I go to where it's closer. However, I have never had a bad experience here. You can play a round with cart/green fee for $45 from dawn to 10:59, $39 11-2, $33 from 2-5, $27 after 5pm. Weekend will cost you around $55.Personally, the other courses in town are less expensive and just as fun. The best thing to do is go to teequest and book a tee time. You will save a lot more money doing it that way!"
"Beautiful course that is in marvelous condition considering the deals you get on the green fees. What really impressed me is how nice the fairways looked considering how many leaves have fallen around this time of the year. Nothing ruins a game more than spending 20 minutes looking for a ball under a leaf. The greens themselves were in very good condition as well.As mentioned by Adam, the 9th hole is a 140 yard par 3 with a very high drop. Probably one of the highest tee boxes in the metro (Higher than the par 3 hole @ swope)"
"Awesome course that has challenges for any golfer. While it may be called Tiffany Greens, there are some really nice surprises over the 18 holes. Hole one is a par 5 with an easy drive, but the second shot introduces you to the water of Tiffany's Greens. Do you have the golf B-ll's to go for it, will you hit the lay up, only to face water on two sides of the green for the 3rd shot.Shot making is what golf is all about, and you'll have plenty of chances to get creative. But while you're waiting for you buddy to hit one in the woods, scan the surroundings, as I've see bald eagles, tons of turkey's, herds of deer and if you're lucky, you'll see the older lady sporting a bikini on her elevated deck on hole 11. She'll help you find your ball if you miss right. One of the best public courses in KC."
"This golf course is beautiful and challenging. They have a great clubhouse. The course is very challenging - especially the back nine."
"My sister had her wedding here this weekend. I was really impressed with the entire staff and the effcient way the event was run. From the Wedding coordinator, to the event staff, to the Golf Shop employees. We rode in the golf carts to take some wedding pictures and I got to see some of the course. It was gorgeous. I would reccommend Deer Creek to golfers and future brides alike!"
"Hillcrest is a golf course in transition, and little by little it seems to be turning itself around. I played this last year and it was in terrible shape. This year the course looks better managed, greens and tee boxes are in a lot better shape, and the experience was much better. The track has a lot of fine holes, mature trees put shot placement at a premium, but give opportunities for a few errant shots. Better bring your A game out of the shoot, as the first hole, is 235 yd par 3. What I ultimately see happening is, Cerner will buy the course in 3 years and make it into their company track, at that point it will become a stellar track that everyone in KC will want to play."
"GREAT GOLF COURSE. Seriously, legit. Beautiful course, lots of challenges. There isn't much water, but that's ok. Their golf carts are legit - they have gps on them and keep score for you. The prices aren't crazy either...like $30 twilight. Boo ya."

A good course for brushing up on your short game. A lot of par 3 holes and the par 4 and 5 holes are shorter then most courses. The tee boxes and fairways were a little rough shape but with the heat and lack of rain recently that's to be expected. The greens were in good shape overall and prices reasonable.Played here lots of times and have always enjoyed my round. Staff is always friendly as well.

Dubs Dread is probably the best of Kansas City's older courses, and I love older courses. Also , it will test your golf skills. From the beautiful clubhouse to the well stocked pro shop, this place is first class all the way. We stopped to get a cart and the young lady was very helpful and got us going right away. Also, nice new golf carts vs. some places that have a plaque that says " Jack Nicklaus rode in this as a teenager." The course is beautiful laid out, well manicured , and plenty of old growth trees to add a degree of difficulty to the game, but challenges hone your skills.Afterward, we went back to the clubhouse where we enjoyed some food and adult beverages, enhanced by the magnificent view of the course while out on the deck. All in all, you can't go wrong with this place.

Superb course. What a treat. Especially for $49 from golfnow. Back in LA, this course would go for $200. The tee boxes & fairways (when i hit them) were excellent. The greens were aerated recently. The staff was helpful and polite. Good ppl all around. It was cart path only that day bc the grass was too wet. But, would return in a heart beat. Must play course.

Great course and staff. The course was tougher than I expected, and especially some of the greens. Remember to tip your Beer Cart Girls.

Deer creek has been around for 20 plus years, and still enjoy the challenge of the layout. Looking at lush zoysia fairways and nicely appointed homes, makes the golfing experience.Sunny, 70 degrees, light wind, two buddies and 18 holes of golf, great way to spend a day. Course was in decent shape, greens were aerated, bumpy and kinda slow, traps were in good shape, fairways are just coming in, tee blocks were nice. Best part was I won a tournament a few years back and finally used my free round...so to make a great course even better...make it free.Head out to deer creek, take a couple extra balls, there's plenty of trouble lurking at deer creek...

This course has been around forever and it is a hidden gem in eastern Kansas City. The price was right (about $23 for a week day rate) and booking a tee time was a breeze through the GolfNow website. Despite many tee times open and available around our time, when we arrived, two foursomes teed off prior to us and were painfully slow. We ended up teeing off 30 minutes late, something that always eats me up. Wish the pro shop would do a better job of staggering the golfers. The course was in really good shape and was very challenging. I liken it to a "Baby Swope" with its rolling hills and well maintained fairways. Despite the recently aerated greens, the course played well. We ended up having to join up with a twosome behind us to speed things up. Both were club members and were very gracious and kind. I'll definitely be back but five hours to play 17 holes (I had to skip the last hole due to an afternoon commitment) is unconscionable. Hope the next round here is better managed by marshals and employees.

Played here the morning after an overnight heavy rainfall. Course was cart path only, which was totally understandable. Course was in good shape, but rough was really long, making it difficult to get out of. Before we finished our first nine, a marshal stopped us and told us that we were playing too slow IT WAS CART PATH ONLY, and I'm not sure what we could have done to speed things up. We attempted to speed up our play which resulted in two of the four of us picking up before we got to the green, and then we ended up catching up to the group in front of us and having to wait on holes. .

"This review is strictly for Skip and the Champs youth program. My boys adore Skip, he's great with the kids, and my boys have consistently improved their game through this program. They enjoy the social aspect of it, but get plenty of individual guidance and encouragement."
"Awesome place. I always have a great time when I come here. It's open to the public and very well kept."
"I feel this is a great kept secret!! My girlfriends and I got out of our bubble and thought we would try this golf course! We are beginners let's just get that out there first. The course was beautiful and well maintained. The carts were in great condition. We can't possibly walk and carry our clubs in this July heat!!! So well maintained golf carts are a MUST for this group! The staff was friendly and helpful.Best part is they have a bar and grill. It opens from 9:00am till 30 min after sunset!! Great food and drinks. Especially after playing in the heat! They have great deals on their website. Lunch and golf specials!!!"
"We had a company outing here and rented out the entire facility for he morning/lunch. They provided a breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, breads and fruit. The mimosa's are yummy!!! Super helpful, friendly staff. Great course, those carts can fly, be careful of the cart trail it is dicey in a couple areas. The grounds are beautifully manicured. The drink cart comes often and is always full. Lunch was a fajita buffet with chicken and beef, salsa & chips and dessert. Way better than what I was expecting. The pro shop was helpful and had a big variety of items."
"Love trying new courses. Beautiful course, a bit challenging at times. Greens and faireways were in great shape when we played."
"Reviewing with the A Gizzle usually sparks pretty spirited conversations. For instance, Painted Hills.Besides having been the scene of one of my funniest golf incidents (I will plead the 5th), Painted Hills is a not to bad course in a not too bad part of town. I think the location couldn't be more out of reach from the typical golfers in the area.Despite it's somewhat inconvenient location, Painted Hills is very well maintained and the staff does a great job. I do think the facilities though are really beginning to show their age and could use a face lift. The greens could also use as much detail as the fairways do."
"Course is in great shape and still a challenge after 5 years of playing this as my home course. Lots of good chances this year. Course has become really busy which is good so you should always call to see about tee time and/or tournament status."
"Golfed here last fall. The greens were in good shape. Staff is very friendly. Rates are good. We happen to be there on a day with not so many people so I think we were lucky to not have to wait."
"Heritage Golf Course is one of the nicer courses on the southern end of Olathe. It's a par 71, 7000 yard course and it certainly has it's challenges. If you play from the back tees, you will definitely be tired at the end of the round. You will often find deer, wild turkeys (no not the alcohol) running around. It is a combination of links and tree-lined play, so you get a little bit of both. There are three different smaller lakes that play around the course as well as Coffee Creek. During peak season you are looking at about $29 to ride, which is not bad for a decent course. It is not my favorite course to play, but I will go in a heartbeat. They just got new carts last year, some of their cart paths are a little worn out, but overall the course is in great condition. The greens are good size and roll true. The only bad thing about this course is that it does not properly drain so if you are there after a rain storm, your ball has a tendency to get stuck in the muddy parts of the fairways. Most courses have markers and this course does a decent job of letting you know your distance to the pin. Overall, it's a good course."
"Nice little 9-hole course close to Gardner Lake. Very friendly staff, nice clubhouse. Not a ton of rough, so pretty forgiving track for sub par golfers like yours truly."
"Very nice layout, good mix of water, doglegs, bunkers, and trees. They have nice big undulating greens that after a couple rounds you will know where to hit, depending on pin placement. Hit golf now and get a deal... Also, they have an excellent par three course, great for working on your short game..."
