"This place is truly the armpit of Lenexa. My family and I went with the grandparents only because we had a groupon. Started with the mini golf..the first 3 holes have water hazards..but they are sewage hazards that are not blocked off at all. Everything is all dried up. Most of the greens are severely torn up with the course covered in weeds. Next we visited the batting cages...2 worthless bats for 8 cages that weren't even all functional. They had 2 helmets..one was a size fit for an 8 year old and the other was fit for some guy with a size 8 head. The driving range was actually pretty nice. The bottom line is....the manager and his staff sat on their butt the entire time..never asking my family and I how our experience was. And no, it was not a busy day for them. Paul, the guy at the front desk had no enthusiasm..never smiled..never said thank you..nothing. Just walked around like he had a stick up his butt. But I won't blame him..because if management cared even a little bit..his position would be held by someone who cares about their customers..or at least acts like it. I was very unimpressed and we definitely will not be back. Customer Service is my profession and this place has none of it. Don't waste your time and your hard earned money here."
"Course and greens were in great shape and green fees super cheap. This was my first time playing this course and although it's a bit of a drive from my house I'd play it again. It was a busy day and got a little backed up on the back nine but overall a great round. This course has its share of challenges including some pretty wicked dog legs on the back nine. Some fairways are pretty tight and if you hit off you will be in the tall grass.Would recommend you play this course and I plan on playing it again."
"I was invited to play Wolf Creek and was duly impressed. The course is way off the map but worth the drive. Play is awesomely fast. Course is awesome and the greens terrific. Lots of challenging shots. Would love to come back in the summertime when leaves are on the trees again. Minus 1 star for not permitting women on the premises. Hellllo 19th amendment!"
"Super fun and way better than just a driving range. Bar and music were awesome. Lucy was the bartender and was great at making sure everything was working right."
"Reviewing with the A Gizzle usually sparks pretty spirited conversations. For instance, Painted Hills.Besides having been the scene of one of my funniest golf incidents (I will plead the 5th), Painted Hills is a not to bad course in a not too bad part of town. I think the location couldn't be more out of reach from the typical golfers in the area.Despite it's somewhat inconvenient location, Painted Hills is very well maintained and the staff does a great job. I do think the facilities though are really beginning to show their age and could use a face lift. The greens could also use as much detail as the fairways do."
"The course was in beautiful condition . The greens were soft and the tees in good shape. I didn't drive from Shawnee to play on an average course. Also not cart path only."
"Very nice layout, good mix of water, doglegs, bunkers, and trees. They have nice big undulating greens that after a couple rounds you will know where to hit, depending on pin placement. Hit golf now and get a deal... Also, they have an excellent par three course, great for working on your short game..."
"My husband and I come here a couple times a week for the driving range and love it! It's easy to find, well maintained, the staff is awesome and is priced well. They are open late so you can use the batting cages or hit a few golf balls even if the mood strikes you in the evening. We've never had a problem with it being overly crowded or really anything negative for that matter. I see people of all levels and since I'm just a beginner, I definitely don't feel out of place which is nice.Just a FYI, since I know many people who enjoy an adult beverage while golfing, alcohol is not allowed. Not a big deal but just thought I'd mention it. Spend some time out here, you won't be upset!"
"Hillcrest is a golf course in transition, and little by little it seems to be turning itself around. I played this last year and it was in terrible shape. This year the course looks better managed, greens and tee boxes are in a lot better shape, and the experience was much better. The track has a lot of fine holes, mature trees put shot placement at a premium, but give opportunities for a few errant shots. Better bring your A game out of the shoot, as the first hole, is 235 yd par 3. What I ultimately see happening is, Cerner will buy the course in 3 years and make it into their company track, at that point it will become a stellar track that everyone in KC will want to play."
"Love trying new courses. Beautiful course, a bit challenging at times. Greens and faireways were in great shape when we played."
"This is a great course. Feels like Prairie dunes on most but much more wide-open. I played on a Friday and the course was lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful."
"What a gem - the owners are so personable and welcoming. We went with a group of 4 and will def be back."

The miniature golf here is awful. The picture advertising it on their website is completely false. There are few trees, no water in the "water" features, and the holes are all the same. I would not waste your time or money here for the mini-golf.

Minor is a KCMO city course. Short track with some interesting holes. It is a nice muni in good shape. Why 5 stars, because of Chris the head pro and his staff. They are all well trained to deliver top notch service. Chris puts on a great tournament on a regular basis. If you are looking for a fun track, a great experience, with all the amenities, Minor park is your place.

Found Pin High while searching for indoor or virtual golf. They currently offer a reasonable price compared to competitors. Booking a tee time on their reservation site was very user friendly. This being my first experience with indoor golf. The place is really nicely decorated and modern. Lucy the bartender/attendant/host was really personable. She made all our tasty cocktails, the In The Rough (Bloody Mary was my fav). She gave us instructions on the program. We have a great time drinking and working on our game. The program has all of the major golf courses & driving range. We plan on making frequent trips after this great experience prior to warmer weather.

I have played this course a few times now. The other yelp reviews I feel are a little too harsh as this is a public course. Yes a fews of the tees were a little rough but the fairway and greens were well maintained. The staff was friendly and getting/returning the carts were efficient. The fee for the a tee time was reasonable for a public course.

This course is very rough. Besides the no water, which is easily the biggest issue of the course, some homeless guy was on the 12th green like rubbing up against me. Course is rough and I felt very uncomfortable. Couldn't tell if it was fairway or a patch of mud next to the track. Was all the same. I don't think I would come here again unless I was gay.

Decent facility to get some practice in on your golf game. Lots of different options on sizes for buckets of balls and they offer artificial grass mats to hit off of or real grass to hit from or use a tee. The little interaction I had with the staff was pleasant. Since it's right down the street from my house I plan on being a repeat customer.

"We had a company outing here and rented out the entire facility for he morning/lunch. They provided a breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, breads and fruit. The mimosa's are yummy!!! Super helpful, friendly staff. Great course, those carts can fly, be careful of the cart trail it is dicey in a couple areas. The grounds are beautifully manicured. The drink cart comes often and is always full. Lunch was a fajita buffet with chicken and beef, salsa & chips and dessert. Way better than what I was expecting. The pro shop was helpful and had a big variety of items."
"I came here for a team outing with my coworkers, and we really enjoyed our time here. It was $50 per person, but it's not too unreasonable considering the time you spend out there. It took us about 4 hours total to get through all 18 holes. The staff are really kind and considerate. After spending all day outside, one of my coworkers was suffering from heat exhaustion, and an employee working in the dining hall went out of her way to help him. She offered lots of water, cold towels, and a specially made drink to help him get back on his feet. I thought it was really thoughtful of her!"
"Looking for a good challenge, sunflower is a hilly track in bonner springs. Front nine starts with 5 wide open holes, then the trees begin to tighten things up. Backside is not as tight, but rolling hills, keep offering all the challenges any golfer would want. The wind can change this course considerably, the greens are in great shape and fair, minus some sloping from back to front, where a putt past the hole can end up in the fairway. The traps could really use some TLC, as there's hardly any sand in some. This can be typical of public courses in the area. No GPS on the carts, so it's old school 150 and 100 yard stakes. If the price is right, you'll enjoy spending 4 hours fighting the challenges of sunflower hills."
"Heritage Golf Course is one of the nicer courses on the southern end of Olathe. It's a par 71, 7000 yard course and it certainly has it's challenges. If you play from the back tees, you will definitely be tired at the end of the round. You will often find deer, wild turkeys (no not the alcohol) running around. It is a combination of links and tree-lined play, so you get a little bit of both. There are three different smaller lakes that play around the course as well as Coffee Creek. During peak season you are looking at about $29 to ride, which is not bad for a decent course. It is not my favorite course to play, but I will go in a heartbeat. They just got new carts last year, some of their cart paths are a little worn out, but overall the course is in great condition. The greens are good size and roll true. The only bad thing about this course is that it does not properly drain so if you are there after a rain storm, your ball has a tendency to get stuck in the muddy parts of the fairways. Most courses have markers and this course does a decent job of letting you know your distance to the pin. Overall, it's a good course."
"T-shotz is the perfect little date night spot. The outside patio with the couches and screen, plus a little heater you can control if you get cold! The staff is quick to help get you started if you've never been, if you have, then you just jump right in! For dinner, we ordered the wings to start with. They were crispy just like the menu said! We also got a salad-with the food ranch (iykyk) I ordered the calamari for dinner which was tasty. A little oily tbh. I love that they fry banana peppers with them though. My fav addition to the dish. We also split a flatbread pizza. The bbq was KC style and the chicken was fresh! Overall a decent little thick crust flatbread."
"Beautiful course that is in marvelous condition considering the deals you get on the green fees. What really impressed me is how nice the fairways looked considering how many leaves have fallen around this time of the year. Nothing ruins a game more than spending 20 minutes looking for a ball under a leaf. The greens themselves were in very good condition as well.As mentioned by Adam, the 9th hole is a 140 yard par 3 with a very high drop. Probably one of the highest tee boxes in the metro (Higher than the par 3 hole @ swope)"
"AMAZING!!!!Different courses...putting greens...driving range. You would think think this is a country club and not city ran.The clubhouse just opened.Full bar and the food is rocks! The patio is nice with heaters for this time of year.Tv's around so you won't miss your game.HeaCheck out their golf leagues...lady's is on Tuesdays."
"I was surprised to see that this place had such a low rating on Yelp. I mean, maybe I've just been to some really scummy, sub-par mini golf courses in my time, but I didn't think it was THAT bad. No, it's not a terribly creative, super intense, exciting course, but it wasn't awful. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day, and we didn't have much on in the afternoon (and had a groupon for a mini golf excursion), so we hopped in the car and drove on out. I had read the reviews prior to my visit, so I knew to go when it was still daylight, and that I might not be terribly challenged by the course, but for a lazy Sunday, this was pretty perfect. There were no lines, and we opted for the Garden course, which we were told was the more challenging of the two courses. I lost, as usual, but only by one stroke, so that definitely added to the experience! We didn't find the more difficult course to be that difficult, but we still had fun, and I'd go back again sometime if we're in the area and feeling like a mini golf game. Actually, my husband wants to check out the proper golf course (and possibly try to get me out to play), and I could see giving it a shot."
"If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to play an indoor round, with the convenience of great food, beer, and fun, this is the place! Service staff is very helpful with the equipment (as are other players), and keep your drink filled without constant interruptions. I've played at multiple of these on the east side of KC, this is the best. They have leagues, they have clubs you can rent/borrow, and a bar that is managed by a professional bartender. And yes, they do know how to mix drinks...check out the Bloody Mary pic!"
"Teetering isn't the best course in town, but it is a fun course. The atmosphere is a little laid back, and most greens can be reached with a mid to short iron or wedge, which makes it a great course for beginners, kids, and seniors or experienced players who want to work on their short game. It's a great course for a date for golfing couples too.You won't mistake the greens for Falcon Ridge or Alvamar, but greens fees are cheap and you get what you pay for. The highlights of the course are a shot off a cliff to a heart shaped green on #3, #7's dramatic dogleg, and elevated greens at #10, #14, and #18 plus peaceful cart paths through the woods and comfortable clubhouse."
"I feel this is a great kept secret!! My girlfriends and I got out of our bubble and thought we would try this golf course! We are beginners let's just get that out there first. The course was beautiful and well maintained. The carts were in great condition. We can't possibly walk and carry our clubs in this July heat!!! So well maintained golf carts are a MUST for this group! The staff was friendly and helpful.Best part is they have a bar and grill. It opens from 9:00am till 30 min after sunset!! Great food and drinks. Especially after playing in the heat! They have great deals on their website. Lunch and golf specials!!!"
"Lakewood CC is one of the few courses around town I haven't had the pleasure of dunking a ball in a lake or losing a ball in the woods...this week...mission accomplished on both fronts...For the lucky ones, Lakewood CC offers a wonderfully manicured layout, with several twists and turns golfers love. The layout was quite a bit more hilly than I was expecting, and shotmaking was at a premium, as almost every fairway is lined with with houses, roads, trees or water. As we found out, errant tee shots deliver roof thudding "bangs", my drives were all straight down the fairway...wink...wink...as the surrounding houses are big and beautiful...an interesting side note, several houses have fortified enclosures providing some degree of protection, yet very entertaining on the level of ingenuity, fashioned to erect them. The greens are decent sized, but roll like glass, which adds a level of skill our 4-some was missing. Bunkers are plentiful, and well maintained. The highlight of my round occurred on holes 5 and 6, both pars 3's. 100 yds over water, then 130 yds onto a peninsula. Very creative holes tucked between houses and water...I was lucky enough to be invited to a tournament and play this wonderful course, so if you ever get the chance, jump on it..."
"shadow glen is a wonderful golf club. it is a great layout with great par 3's. it was in incredable condition, the fairways were somewhat forgiving (not big-not bowling alley's) very fair. the greens were medium size with a good amount of undulation and had great pace to them. this is a private club so you must play with a member. if you get the chance, go play, it is well worth it. i look forward to playing there again.gh"
"OK, I am an admitted serial country club hopper. I've been a member of 5 country clubs since my mid-20's and I have enjoyed them all. I decided to give up the country club life last year when I turned 35; my junior membership graduated to a Full Membership and my monthly bill skyrocketed to almost $1000 per month. When a country club exceeds their budget, they basically just add an additional charge to each members monthly bill to cover the loss. This is called an assessment and drives me insane because as a member you are obligated to pay the assessment along with your monthly dues. Most country clubs also have quarterly minimums that you must spend on food; if you don't dine at the club enough, the minimum amount is just charged to your bill. I just wasn't receiving a grand per month in value, so I grudgingly cancelled my membership and vowed to play public golf courses going forward....That didn't last long... Maybe a few months... Thankfully, I found the new Brookridge Golf Club in the Spring of 2010.Brookridge was purchased by a new owner in 2010 and now the memberships are structured more like Lifetime Fitness or Prairie Life than a typical country club. The junior membership age limit is 40 and the monthly dues are around $300. There are no food minimums although the club does offer a pretty decent food and bar service if you ever wanted to dine or have a few drinks after golf. The 18 hole championship course is one of the better layouts in KC. Brookridge also offers a 9 hole course that is more than adequate for a quick 9 holes after work in the summer. The club also offers a nice olympic size pool with diving board. 300 bones a month for the entire family, this is a heckuva a deal!It gets even better, most country clubs have large ball rooms that rarely get used. In my 10+ years of country club memberships, I have never attended a country club ball. Brookridge has converted the ball rooms to a 10,000 square foot fitness center with state of the art fitness equipment, weights, steam room, etc... Use of the fitness center is included with your golf membership. So, for most young golfers like myself, Brookridge is an extremely good value. I just want to play golf, maybe swim in the heat of the summer and occasionally have a few drinks at the club bar. If you want the big social events and black tie balls, Brookridge may not be the place for you. I like to play 3 or 4 holes each night after work with my 8 year old son so Brookridge works out wonderfully for me."
"The 1829 log cabin of my fourth grandfather, Edwin O'Dell (husband to Lettis) is here.Lots of great family history for me here even though I loathe golf!"
"Awesome place. I always have a great time when I come here. It's open to the public and very well kept."
"This course is definitely in my top 3 courses I have played in the KC Metro. Located in Spring Hill, KS, don't let the location or the unassuming club house fool you. Starting off on the front 9, you are presented with beautifully manicured fairways that are soft and wide. The design is fairly wide open and encompasses the rolling hills it's laid out upon. Cleverly placed bunkers are also a plenty. Don't let the wide openness fool you though as it will still challenge golfers of any skill level. Then you step out on the #10 tee box and swear you were just transported to a completely different golf course. Gone is the wide open scenery. It is replaced by broadleaf forest and lots of it. The fairways are insanely narrow, the dog legs are anything but gradual, and features like tiered fairways exist. This is where you put up or shut up on this golf course. Seriously the back nine is a think of beauty and fear at the same time. Very few holes back here allow you to grip and rip, but rather require you to place precise shots (this is why I recently shot my worst round of the year here). The clubhouse help is superb and very willing to help. The price to play here can be more expensive during peak hours than many other courses in the metro, however after 3 in the summer $28 tee times including cart are to be had 7 days a week.If you haven't played Sycamore Ridge Golf Course I can't tell you enough what you are missing. Get out there and play it and I can guarantee it will become one of your favorite courses in the metro to play as it has mine."
"Great location to take your family or for you to get out and get some fresh air. They have a lot of different activities ranging from 2 Mini Gold courses, Driving Range, Battling Cage, and Go Karts. They also have equipment such as golf clubs for the driving range or baseball hats and helmets for the batting cage. But keep in mind most of the loaner equipment are old and worn, and are not in the best condition. But you are welcome to bring your own equipment.Prices seem to be fairly reasonable, for a couple of dollars you can get a bucket of 25 golf balls for the driving range, or have about 20 or so balls thrown at you in the batting cage. The Batting Cage and the Driving Range work off of automated machines that take special tokens. And as most places, the more tokens you buy at once the cheaper they are.If you are looking to kill a couple of hours, burn of some steam, or just wnat to get out and get some fresh air, then make a trip to Sports Center."
"I'm always amazed that HOA isn't as busy as it rightfully should be. I feel as though I'm running the risk of exposing my great little secret to the world (well...to yelp) with this review. I've been golfing here since college and HOA is really one of my favorites. They have a nice sized driving range, chipping/pitching green, and putting green for their practice facility. They also have two courses, a 9 hole par-3 course (the Rock) and a regular (par 35) 9 hole course (the River). Prices are extremely reasonable (I always play twilight (after 5pm) and the cost is $10/$13 respectively). Neither of the two courses are extremely difficult making this a great place for beginning golfers and cost is low enough that I can play here several times a week no problem."
"Course is in great shape and still a challenge after 5 years of playing this as my home course. Lots of good chances this year. Course has become really busy which is good so you should always call to see about tee time and/or tournament status."
"As usual Indian Hills CC never fails to impress me. We ate here on Friday night as we usually do when I'm in town. I had a wedge salad and penne with grilled chicken & Alfredo. Pros:- Amazing wait staff, this is the cream of the crop- The food is so delicious- The atmosphere is warm, friendly and beautiful- The night we were there was some sort of Jazz-themed night. We didn't sit in the casual dining/bar area where the Jazz was because we wanted to be able to talk easily. However, we were still able to hear the jazz in the background while we ate. It was prefect.- They have a huge array of sorbet/desserts. Mmmmmm- Everybody who works full time here knows my dad & step-mom's name and make an effort to say hello every time we come. You really know the members are treated with the utmost care. Cons:NONE."
"I bought a Groupon for a swing analysis (23$). The guys were cool (until the pushy sales pitch) and the high tech equipment was even cooler. The guys asked if I brought a zip/jump drive, (very important if you do not plan on signing up for lessons) I stated no because I was not instructed to do so ( I made a list as he spoke) the guys said its OK you can get it when you come back. That was strike one in my book since it was a 45 min drive from my house. We talked about my swing for a little bit and then the tides changed to a high pressure sale tactic. Buy a 16 week lesson right now, pay in full today for a small discount! I resisted the pitch as much as could w/o rudeness or anger. Even with all the pushyness i asked how much another hour analysis would be w/o a Groupon and I was told it was 50$ I sated I at least I wanted another hour to get my video and continue working on the loads of info. The formally cool guys said he wouldn't do another hour with me because he wouldn't make any money like that, so it was lessons (300$ minimum) or nothing. I am not a business wiz but this doesn't make since to me. I was moderately on the fence about the lessons and because they wouldn't let me come back for just another hour my mind was made up for me. They just gave up on at least another $50 and quite possibly a full lesson. I am sorry to rant on here and post a huge review but the whole process left a sour taste in my mouth and it wasn't smart on their end."
"This was a wonderful venue for a smaller family wedding. The Highlands room has a beautiful balcony overlooking the golf course that's perfect for pictures. I only wish the wedding photographer would have taken pictures there instead of outside of the church. The chefs meal was great and received many compliments on the dinner. Another huge plus is Amanda is excellent and very efficient to work with! Her helpers the night of the wedding were professional and courteous as well! The only problem was the second bartender was not savvy at making drinks. Must have been new. There was wait at times and we payed for the mid tier alcohol and not sure they were always pouring that. Otherwise I would highly recommend this venue! It such a great location too! Was close to the church so the guests didn't travel far at all! My son was able to take advantage of it but the groom gets a free round of golf too! Just a great experience overall!"
