"Came here on a business trip from San Diego. I wanted to see what's the favorite spots in Lawrence. This spot is legit. The food is excellent, service is very accommodating, and beer selection is great. The food menu has a lot of European takes to it which is awesome to complement the beers. It's very busy during dinner which tells me everyone goes here. I'm Filipino, so I had to try their Lumpia's (Filipino Egg rolls) here which is left field. It was good, but needed some improvements. Portion is kinda small and thin. It's needs shrimp mixed to it or add extra pork added to its thickness. The dipping sauce needs a little tad sweetness to it like honey to it to off set the tangy flavor. But I respect the take. However, I order their French dip sandwich. It was very delicious with the Au Jus sauce. You definitely need to order the Onion Rings on the side. Onions Rings was one of the best I had."
"Jasper's is an all time favorite place to dine. Special occasions or just a random Tuesday. Every dish is spectacular and tasty!! We love talking with Kasper as he wanders around the dining room. We recommend Jasper's any chance we get."

"This food was SO GOOD. We came because I had a hankering for gobi Manchurian and my favorite spot for that dish has closed (boooo!). As you can see in the photo, it was large, it was crispy, it was saucy. We ordered mild spice because south Asian spice levels scare me. The dish still had a little kick to it tho!I totally forgot to snap a photo of our rogan josh and naan, but they were excellent. If we ordered the rogan josh again, we'd get more spice than mild. It was delicious though! The lamb was fall apart tender, the sauce was great. The naan was very crispy on the outside, and was (to my taste) more pancake flavor than yeast bread flavor. I'd be interested to try their garlic naan, just because this was such a "background character" bread. If we had been more adventurous with our spice level, this bread would be exactly what I wanted though. Our server was so friendly and prompt, too. We will definitely be back!"
"My favorite cupcake shop! I have been a fan of this place for YEARS! Came back in town and literally ran (I thought they were about to close for the night lol) to get me a chocolate obsession cupcake. It brought back so many great memories of enjoying these when I was younger. These cupcakes are always fresh, moist, and not over the top with the sugar."
"I'm obsessed with this place. It's unique, fun to shop at, everything is delicious and the staff is super friendly. I love sitting outside but there is plenty of seating indoors as well. I've tried their crepe, crab slider, croissants, eclairs, quiche, fries, and so much more over the several visits I've made and I can't ever decide what to try next. The fries are SO GOOD!! I'll never stop raving about it!"
"I decided to check out a bakery for something new and I found it! This bakery was quite intriguing with croissants, honey buns, sticky buns and creative ways on their items in store. I talked with the cashier and he was excited about the store, food, coffee and owner! Filled with knowledge and friendliness. The inside could take you back to an old school family owned bakery. Small and quaint! I love this place and will definitely be back to the ham , chorizo and biscuit and gravy croissants. Welcome to the neighborhood Blackhole Bakery!"
"The food here is sooooo good. Definitely is your local deli. I also got an Apple fritter, and a chocolate long John they were so soft and delicious."
"I don't get the negative feedback. Honestly, our wait staff was attentive, engaging, and knowledgeable of the food. Our food was served piping hot. My wife had the basil penne Mac and cheese and I had the lobster ravioli. Both dishes were amazing. They had a wide variety of cocktails to choose from and the drinks we had were all good. Make a reservation when you go, and you'll be just fine."
"A vast array of ice cream flavors, not sure what you want? They will give you samples to try and help you decide. They also serve sandwiches and coffee. They have a party room for your birthday parties. I especially love their banana split! You're always greeted with a smiling, cheerful associate. The place is bright and cheery and usually very clean unless they had a huge rush and people just left the table. Oh and they have amazing baked goods as well. I love their crinkle lemon cookies! Great place for a snack or treat after dinner. And they stay open late!"
"Delicious authentic Mediterranean fare. Friendly personalized service. Highly recommend!"
"Old School Mom & Pop feel. If you are in the Topeka area and are looking for a spot to eat, this place is perfect. The staff was attentive and the food was like mom made it for me. (If mom knew how to make a great traditional breakfast)"
"I get delivery from them all the time, and they never disappoint. Really great, authentic flavors, and everything is very fresh. Highly recommend!"

Dinner was good! We loved the bruschetta, have been wanting it again! Had fish & chips, was very good!!! Service Downside: Hubby ordered sandwich that was supposed to be on pretzel roll but wasn't told they were out of them until food arrived; the pretzel roll was main reason for ordering that particular item!

Pros: Great food! - The food is authentic & delicious. Fresh produce, prepared perfectly, much is purchased locally. Clean - Always clean and smelling of delicious Italian food. Cons: Some (not all, mostly the older guys) of the wait staff are pompous jerks - Depending on who you get is how you'll be treated. Fancy clothing helps, but doesn't always do the trick. Wait time - I'm not exaggerating when I say you'll be there for 3 hours or more. There are several courses and a LOT of waiting between each. It's an event, not just a meal.Expensive - Drinks & side table mozzarella with your meal? Be prepared to pay. Our table of 5 was over $400 and one was a child. To sum up: Dress up (don't forget your thickest skin), come early & plan to stay late, don't forget your wallet $$, & come hungry, you'll definitely love the food and possibly the service...possibly.

Loving Indian food, visited Kurry Leaves on 127th and Metcalf on a Fri night. The place was 80% full. First impression was people were mostly smiling and enjoying themselves. I went with a standby and ordered Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan. The Butter Chicken was creamy and favorable, the chicken chunks were uniform - and overall delious. When asked did l desire mild or medium, l said medium. I really prefer hot spice but wanted to try their medium and it was spot on. The Naan was full of garlic and was roasted very well. This was just a sample of their food and l started to also smile as l enjoyed myself.

I have been coming here anytime I need a sweet treat in the plaza. It's kind of tucked away in my opinion so you may not see it right away but once you find it, you might be hooked if you have a sweet tooth like me. They have lots of different flavors to choose from. I have had many of them at this point and you can't go wrong. They definitely taste as described in the name of the cupcake! I wish they were a little bit more dimensional in flavor but every cupcake has been consistent in sweetness, cake moistness, etc. I wish there was more of a seating area, but the space is pretty tight. There is usually always one staff member, but they aren't that busy when I go so it's easy to grab and go.

This is a local restaurant with quick grabs like salad, sandwich, coffee, and multiple French dishes to go.There is a very good bar where you can sit and have a nice drink. Have a coffee and also have a small menu. They serve a lot of French local favorites and this place has a really good antique and artistic vibe. The service is outstanding very respectful and decent I strongly recommend this place for their service.

Run, don't walk here! And make sure to get here right as they open or you risk them running out of all the best stuff! Every once in a while you come across a hidden gem, and this bakery is it for sure. Imagine a beautiful Saturday morning, 7:50 AM (they open at 8) and a line of 30 or so people begins to form. That was here, pic for reference too. There is a cult following here and for good reason. I tried all the mochi donuts because why not- favs were the birthday cake and pistachio. Also had the palmier, ube tea cake, and cinnamon roll. Could've tried everything but will save for next time. Probably one of the best bakeries in KC and there are a lot of exceptional ones. Pro-tip, can call in order day before and walk right in to grab it already made up. Downside you don't get to look at all the goodies in the case. Final review: 5/5 stars

This place is so simple and so unassuming that if you're here it can only be for one of two reasons:1) You're from the area and you've been coming here for 15+ years.2) You heard about it from someone in 1). (or maybe you found it on Yelp)Everything thing about this place is punishingly plain...and then you can your sandwiches. They are fresh, meaty, crisp, nourishing, perfectly executed. None of the parts are extraordinary but the overall sandwich Gestalt is just mind-blowing.Come here for lunch.

Gargantuan portions. Dishes range from slightly off to spot-on. Pastas are reliable, I'm especially attached to the Tortellini Cordon Bleu (there's a cultural mix). They omitted an old standby, Lemon chicken tenders with risotto (cooked right) from the current menu. An approachable, affordable wine list, classic decor, and typically good service.

"What an amazing little spot! They have such a great little store with so much ice cream! Let's start with the fact that they have a lot of different flavours of that ice cream. I had to forgo it because of issues with Lactose. However, this location does have a lactose-free option, usually more than one. Sadly, that option this time was Mango ice cream, and I am silly and don't like Mango as a flavour. And now for the cookies! I waited too long to go which meant they were out of my absolute favourite! They typically have a chocolate chip peanut butter cookie. The best of all worlds! Yes... even better than the peanut butter chip chocolate cookie. So here is the list of what I tried this trip...Chocolate Chip - How else would you judge cookie making?!?!Pumpkin Spice - I live in Johnson County... that xplanes it!Snickerdoodle - OMG... this is the right cookie for hot chocolate! All joking aside, these cookies are premier and some of the best cookies I have ever had! (Sorry Grandma). My review is if you ever need that sweet snack that is the pinnacle of baked goods in America... stop here and snag a cookie, some ice cream, maybe one of their sodas! For the Restaurant:Crazy idea... the quick microwave where you heat up people's cookies in for them. Because who doesn't like a warm cookie? Also, sorry about putting the tip in the dog biscuit jar on the counter! Oooops!"
"Online ordering and pickup was very easy! Staff was very nice and had my food ready in no time at all. I got the Gryo plate to go and it was delicious and everything tasted very fresh! Definitely will be going back to try something else."
"We love Park Street! The owner Doug has always been an approachable, friendly guy. Park Street has the food and drink quality of a legit pastry bakery paired with the ambiance of a local gathering favorite. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with a variety of small and large family sized tables. With cinnamon rolls as big as your face, cappuccinos to take you to Italy and their Saturday special: biscuits and gravy, you have GOT to check them out.Friendly service every time."
"Employees were friendly and quick! Their cookies are always delicious and I love that they rotate each week. I am a big fan of their mini cookies because I can get a variety. The only downside is the price, it was $15 for 6 small cookies. Due to the price, I rarely go here for myself. I do like to give them as bday or appreciation gifts as they are definitely a special treat!"
"If you are looking for something to fulfill the craving for your sweet tooth, look no further. Big Momma's has been around for years. The cinnamon rolls are to die for! When you place your order, they will ask if you want extra icing and/or if you want it warmed. O-M-Geeee! Wait until you get to your destination so that you can warm it up (no more than 30-40 seconds) and enjoy it alone or with a cold glass of milk. You will definitely feel guilty after eating it - then again, you may not.The sandwiches are Gi-gormous! I would order one meat to enjoy it, but if you are hungry and do not mind the condiments on the sides of your mouth, go for more than one meat, along with your toppings of choice. I promise that you will not be able to eat the entire sandwich. They have the following to add to your sandwich at no extra charge. You pick!Lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, pickles, jalapenos, mayonnaise, mustard, dijon mustard, Desserts- Sweet potato bar- Lemon bar- Carrot cake- Lemon Round- Strawberry cake- German Chocolate cake- Scones- Cinnamon rolls- Mini Mamas (center of the cinnamon rolls - yum!)Lastly, they have homemade dinner rolls that you can order for your next meal to impress your friends and family. :-) The larger rolls are good to make your own homemade sandwiches. They taste better than the Hawaiian rolls."
"Small restaurant business. I'm a fan of seafood. I have been to New Orleans, great seafood there at a low price. So I'm kind of spoiled by the price and amount of food you get. Of course I know the price for shipping has to be in consideration being in Kansas City. I'd say a little pricey. But not by that much.First pic out of the bag was impressive. They use a rubber band to keep the lid close.Opening the lid you find a plastic bag. This took up space. So looks can be distracting. There was a fair amount of food. Drowned in butter, medium size diced garlic, your choice of seasoning, there's a few to choose. I chose Cajun of course, being a New Orleans fan.I found it a little too much salt for my taste. I did enjoy my meal. Seafood and BBQ/ finger foods, I love. If it isn't messy a little. You're not doing it correctly. So I enjoyed the fact, "It's messy." They do give you a bib and gloves for those who don't like licking the butter off your fingers. My taste in spice level isn't that of, " My mouth is on fire." But I like to sweat a little. Mild for me, Thank you. I did a walk in order to go. Service was speedy, but they weren't that busy either.I like, off the Country Club Plaza places. So if you're like minded. I would say give them a try. Support local small businesses. And decide for yourself."
"THE BEST cookies. Crumbl has become quite a phenomenon in our area, and for good reason. The cookies are HUGE, the flavors are creative, and the service is always great. Pair all of that with cute little pink boxes and these cookies really are something special. You can order online easily, or pop in and order via a kiosk. The cookies are prepared fresh for you as you wait. They are frosted and decorated on the spot, and most are served warm. This is such a great concept, and I am so happy we have them in the KC area now."
"The most delicious cake in Kansas City.!! Professional Services and responsible.! I bought a cake from there before and I will continue.! Customers have the options to choose his and what they want in.!! Love it.!"
"Oh, this is a very good place to hangout with our Japanese engineers who is staying nearby apartments, so they can drink a lot of Tequila & walking back by staggered foot!"
"They are patient and very helpful to assist in your choosing. Their selection is fantastic. Cakes are fresh, you can taste the quality of ingredients as well. Not the lard feeling you are left with in your mouth from other places that cut corners. You can tell they use butter. I brought a piece of cake home to share with my husband and when I rinsed the plates off in the sink it cleaned easily (indicating butter) as compared to a cake with lard in the frosting which would stay on the plate as a grease glob. Prices are fair. But be careful on the cookies. They are weighed out by the pound and that can quickly escalate. But that's on me. HIGHLY recommended."
"Nice small dessert shop with two types of noodles. The beef noodles soup is very flour full. Asian lady is making those wonderful desserts. I bought various cakes but did not take the photo. A few people came in for to go. It is about noon and Christmas Eve so, one cabinet is empty. You can order cakes as well. Nice small family business."
"Fresh food..Pulled pork sandwich, salad, buffalo chicken dip, and fried potato appetizer"
"Nice little find, while perusing the darling plaza area. Very attentive & welcoming staff. Chocolates look delish, but I really wanted to get my hands on some locally cured chocolate dipped bacon, which was out of stock. (insert sad face)I opted for a delicious chocolate tort instead. Everything is made in-house, so double thumbs up! Pro-tip : I highly recommend that you also ask for the housemade caramel sauce too."
"Bruu Cafe is my new favorite Boba place in Kansas City area. I've been trying many Boba places around the greater KC area and I like Bruu the best because of their selection, freshness, taste, and seasonal menu items. Bruu is located at a nice environment with relaxing chairs and a fun swing too.We ordered at a Kiosk and received our drinks 5 minutes later. They usually have something new like Butterbeer or Mangos. Favorites so far are the Crème Brûlée Milk Tea and Butterbeer with Crystal Boba. The Butterbeer is just as good as the one at Universal's Wizarding World. Their Milk Bread and Mochi Donut Ball went well with the drinks, we usually order one of their desserts."
"Found this spot when our first pick was closed. A great find! Food was really good! Interesting- not just standard Mexican food menu- The woman who waited on us was very friendly and answered questions easily. The portions of what we ordered were very generous. It is a small space, but brightly colored and has a good vibe. Our nephew said they are newly opened, and I hope everyone gives them a try. They'll be my first stop next time in Lawrence."
"Tried for the first time and overall good food, would come back to try other dishes butFood: We had the Cinnamon Roll Churros, Chorizo & Eggs, and The Giant. Food was good but The Giant should be called The Medium. Nothing giant about it, about every dish I saw coming out had more food on it than what you get in that! Drink: Wife got a Bloody Mary she enjoyed and all the cocktails we saw coming out looked good. Similar to other reviews, the coffee and coffee drinks are a big miss here especially since this is a breakfast place. Instant coffee and specialty drinks made from a machine like you would see at a hotel. Atmosphere: Lively atmosphere with fairly loud music. Nothing wrong with it, unless you are looking for a more quiet and chill place."
"If you want something delicious and tasty while on the south side of Kansas City don't look no further. The District fish & pasta house is the place to go. I ordered the shrimp & chicken pasta was season perfectly nothing overwhelming. Great service from the staff love hearing the cooks singing R&B while cooking. The place is hidden but once you go in you see a lot of the KC love and art of the city."
"Cutest boba spot I have ever been too! Inside of the store is beautiful and have many places to sit, as well as outlets if you come to study or work. Boba is great!"
"I stopped in on a whim. I had some business to take care of in Raytown. As I'm not normally and that part of Kansas City, I didn't know the bakery was there. The store is clean and very nicely decorated. Everything in the case looks amazing and a staff is very friendly, and helpful. I got a vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing. SO good! There is a small seating area so I was able to sit and enjoy my cupcake.Another customer asked about dairy-free options and I was happy to learn the cupcakes are dairy free and they can ice a cupcake with dairy-free icing upon request. Very good experience. I would go back to Raytown just for this place."
"I was impressed with everything about this new north Indian restaurant during my opening week dine-in lunch visit.During the soft opening the restaurant is offering the buffet every day for lunch and dinner, but later the buffet will be offered only on Sundays. The buffet ($19.99) included choice of naan, salad bar, desserts and veg, chicken, goat and beef entrées. Everything I tried was at the proper temperature and tasted great, with plenty of that north Indian creamy goodness. I loved the garlic naan, which was fresh, warm and very flavorful.Labels at the buffet were a mixed bag, with many nicely detailed labels, some temporary labels and some missing labels at the salad bar dressings, but I understand staff are already working on correcting the issue.I found the dining area to be clean and elegant with pleasant Indian background music and a mix of booths and tables, while the staff were first-rate - attentive, polite, professional and helpful - nice!Excellent!"
"Connies cookies always does a great job in my opinion! The cookies are never dry and the icing is good! I've had two custom orders in the past month and both times they've followed the instructions! I will definitely continue to order my cookies here."
"The food was amazing! Best pasta for a very fair price! Loved how I could go to a laid back shop and pick up great food .I did a to go-order at Pasta Per Favore on a Saturday night. I really wanted good quality food, I didn't want to cook, and I wanted to feel comfortable going to a place to pick up my food in comfortable clothes. I arrived at Pasta Per Favore and there was so much parking! I didn't have to fight for a parking spot so I could go in and order my food (yes I ordered in person). The friendly service was nice. I was also able to view their kitchen which was nice and clean! The kitchen was esthetically pleasing. The cashier was very polite and helpful. Pasta Per Favore also sells some of the adjacent bakery's desserts. I had the gluten free chocolate cake. It was so good! Such a gem!"
"Curbside orders are always delivered in a timely fashion. The parking situation is sus though."
