I have become a frequent Bloom customer. I first stopped by because it was walkable from work and needed lunch asap. I tried the chicken pesto sandwich which was SO good. This is probably one of my favorites on their menu. Although everything I've tried has been really good. Their freshly baked bread makes everything taste way good. Their chai lattes have got to be one of the bests I've ever tried. (And I love chai lattes). Service is always prompt and friendly. I've only tried a few of their pastries but they look yummy and temping.

I can't believe it took me so long to try this place!! Granted I live in Lenexa so it's not the closest to me but so worth the drive! To start of this place is adorable! Such cute decor and a fantastic vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and I chatted with one of them while my food and drink was prepared. I got a matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup. SO GOOD! I can appreciate a good matcha latte I'm definitely no connoisseur for them but this was the best one I've had so far! Incredibly creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. Oat milk really does wonders in the creamy department. For my entree I got a vegan combo I believe? It has biscuits and mushroom gravy, "bacon", Tofu scramble and potatoes. It was delectable. Some of the best vegan bacon I've had and I've tried a LOT as I do not eat meat. Some vegan bacons are just downright gross but I'd would absolutely order this one again which says a lot!! Coconut bacon can taste burnt a lot of the time so I appreciate that this was a more "meaty" version. The biscuits and mushroom gravy was heavenly. Vegan biscuits and gravy is a hard dish I've tried to perfect myself and they expertly executed it. Not too salty (a common theme with vegan gravy) and the biscuit was perfectly baked. All I can say is I'm obsessed with the adorable little shop now and will be back soon!

Ordered a large Tres Leches cake and was pleased with it overall. Flavor was good. It had options for a filling with a few flavors to choose from. I prefer no filling but it didn't provide an option on their website when ordering to opt out. I chose a fruit filling and it wasn't overpowering. Cake was moist from the milks and the frosting was tasty. Ordering process was painless other than not being able to pass on a filling. Great spot to indulge in tres leches among other goodies. I will be returning to try some of their other offerings.

A discussion of birthday cake came up at work between two staff members and they both exuberantly proclaimed Delicias Bakery to be the only place to go for cake in Kansas City. Being that one employee is of Hispanic descent and the other Sudanese, I found it intriguing that both would be drawn to this small plain looking storefront on Central Ave as the Cake Mecca.I was able to visit Delicias before work today and was immediately overwhelmed with the vast array of colorful masterpieces displayed in 2 clean glass counters. I could have walked out then and still given 5 stars for the sheer beauty of the large cakes. There were about 5 offerings to choose from for individual slices; I had the Mocha Mousse for $3.50. A steal!! Two layers of cake - white and chocolate sandwiched between layers of mousse with chocolate and espresso flavoring. The base was a 1/16" layer of milk chocolate and the top and exterior coated with a layer of hardened white chocolate. DAYUM! Light years ahead of anything out of a grocery store bakery.I'm eager for the next work or family event so I can volunteer to bring the cake. These cakes are The Boss!

I had almost given up. For years I have traveled to different stores, bakeries and eateries seeking the perfect cupcake. And throughout my travels I came across some that were OK, some that were "meh" but never finding one that excited my palate and had my mouth watering for more. Until I came across a little place called small cakes. I had drove by this place many times before and I always told myself I was going to go in and check them out but due to countless disappointments with other bakeries in the past I always came up with a reason not to go in. But as I sat and looked at the store front after just leaving Petsmart to pick something up for my kitty cat I decided I was going to pick up a little something for me. So I went inFirst of all the location of this place is really a hidden gem. It is snuggled in a store front and actually has direct competition with a donut shop to the left of it and it has a hair shop and a phone store to the right of it so it's kinda oddly stuck in this area and because you have to turn off of a main road to get up into it, it's very easy to drive by and not see it. But I'm a quirky kind of girl so I usually catch the stuff that most people would ignore. First of all you walk in and I love The layout. All of the cupcakes are upfront, very visual and they all sit in glass toppers so that you can clearly see what is available. The menu smacks you in the face the minute you walk in. it sits up high, the words are big and colorful so that you know exactly what they have and what it cost. What I love most is they don't have 25 different flavors and 25 different sizes of cupcakes. I love the simplicity of having a few flavors, having two sizes of cupcakes real small minis and then the regular gourmet size. This makes it easy for you to choose what you're going to get and what flavor you have to choose from instead of looking through an array of different types trying to figure out if it's worth your time. I'm also the type that I don't like real wild flavors when it comes to cupcakes. I like traditional flavors with a little kick and that is exactly what I got with these.I purchased the strawberry chocolate cream, the vanilla caramel crunch, and the cookie and cream. I have not tasted the vanilla caramel crunch in the cooking cream simply because of the size of these cupcakes they're gourmet size so you have to take your time and eat them. But I did eat the strawberry chocolate cream and it was divinely delicious! Hoodoggie good!!! As I took bite after bite the love affair between me and small cakes became more intimate because the cupcake was fluffy, the icing was flavorful and not overly sweet. it was decorated beautifully and the taste was wonderful. I'm so in love with small cakes right now that I will have to take our relationship to the next level here pretty soon. I may have to hire them to cater an event that I may be having around Christmas and considering how well we've hit it off there may be a match made in heaven coming very very soon. I've said it over and over again that some of the best food is made in some of the smallest, most unchartered, undiscovered places and even though this place does have a Food Network sign on the door, it is one of those places that you stumble across ...but once you stumble you're down for the count and you might as well just surrender because the small cake won the big bake!!!!!

I recently had my baby shower and my husband ordered a cake from Nellies. It was beautifully done, everyone loved it! The best part was that it was not made of fondant which I dislike because it's so thick and sweet. The cake itself was light and and delicious. I recommend this place 100%.
