"Guidepost Montessori in Leawood has undergone an impressive transformation over the past few months. The changes the school has made to the prepared environment, staff, and leadership have resulted in a thriving learning community that is truly putting students first. The school has also put a strong emphasis on recruiting and retaining high-quality Guides (Teaching staff). The Guides are passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to supporting the whole child. They are receiving regular, meaningful professional development to ensure they are meeting the state regulation compliance and implementing Montessori methods and practices. This collaborative, whole-child approach to creates an environment where students can truly thrive."
"Love Googols. My baby girl started there in July and we've been so happy with it. The teachers care about my little one genuinely which makes me feel confident in leaving her there so my husband and I can go to work. They have educational structured activities (even for the tiny ones), plenty of outside play time, and have even stretched her picky eating habits! . As a bonus, they load pics/videos of her throughout the day to their app and send a final report everyday of her experience. And they offer date nights for parents (can I get an amen?!) Can't say enough good things about this place!"
"I enrolled at this Goddard School because it was basically one of the only places with an infant spot within the time frame I needed - and then I became aware how great it actually was. While the facility could do with a little cosmetic facelift, the people who work there go above and beyond to help you out. They also have a great curriculum and my infant daughter actually got to experience many different activities, from sign language to exploring materials while being somewhat "helped" to create art masterpieces (at least in mommy's eyes) at 4 months of age. They make their day so diverse and fun and I just knew that my little one was being well-cared for since she always broke into the biggest smiles when she saw the staff upon her arrival in the mornings.I had the chance to scale back at work and work part-time, so I actually decided to move my little one to another daycare which was quite close to this school and that offered part-time care (unfortunately Goddard does not offer that for infants). They had a beautiful facility and their security system was quite interesting, but once my little one was there, I absolutely did not like it. Their curriculum is practically non existent for infants. At Goddard my little one had books read to her, learned sign language, explored materials, textures and had great interactions with other babies. The teachers really taught my little one things. None of this happened at the new daycare. At the end of week 1 at the new daycare I actually got in touch with Betsy Allen, the owner of this Goddard School and asked whether my little one could return there. She was great and we were able to work something out. I'm glad that my little one will be returning to this awesome place, where I felt that not only was she watched, but she was also loved and taught important lessons while - she may be young to retain much, she is at least being exposed to different activities and possibilities!"
"I wouldn't send my children anywhere else! These professionals love on my babies like I would and have been an integral part of their development. I always appreciate the open communication and how hard the leadership works to make the best decisions for the safety of their children - especially during this pandemic. I recommend Goddard to every parent I know!"
"We did a tour. The facility didn't impress us and that's OK, new management dealing with a weird layout. The staff - seemed like every single teacher was just sitting. Literally sitting. That's ok too, though. Teachers get tired and want to just sit. Here were our problems:While touring it was almost lunch time. We walked by sandwiches sitting on a paper plate with plastic wrap loosely placed over. Right above it was paint jugs - the kind that the paint has dripped all over. Still not horrible. Here's what was horrible:I asked about food preferences for my daughter and how we go about accommodating those. They said they don't accommodate those without a doctor slip. Insert confused face here. I clarified with the director and sure enough, she insists on a doctors note for a parent to choose what their child eats. I can say we toured many childcare options in a stretch of 10-15 miles and not one other facility had this response. In fact, All Around Child in Overland Park had this response when I asked:Oh our owner is very passionate about food options. Her and the chef sit and plan the menu every quarter and they design the food to all look the same even if one is vegetarian for example, so the kids don't feel odd about eating differently. And they're the same price! Shop around. Find the best option."
"I have worked at Tomlin almost 1 month so I think I have a pretty good feel of the staff and children and parents and I can honestly say it is great to be a part of the Tomlin Academy family. Ms. Tomlin is very diligent and intentional about how she tends to the children and their needs. I love my babies here! So sweet and parents all so friendly. I enjoy the environment and working with a staff that is very team oriented."
"Absolutely amazing. Every teacher is personally invested in each child. This location has the *BEST* daycare staff I have ever encountered. When we pick our kid(s) up, they are always happy and clean. (I've been to other daycare facilities where the kids' noses are never even wiped or your shoes stick to the floor.) The classrooms are spacious and very clean. To top it all off, they are super friendly for foster families. Many daycares are difficult to work with or won't even accept foster children. This facility and their entire staff welcome us with open arms. Wish I could give them 6 stars!"
"You won't find better care for your child. My child has been with them since she was a little over the age of two. It has been such a great experience. She has learned so much at such a young age. She's very advanced. All of the stuff genuinely cares about every single student as well."
"We have two kids at Small Beginnings and the school does a great job. The teachers care about the kids and the school is almost always open (they only close for major holidays -- not the minor ones, and haven't had a weather closure for several years). Our kids appear to be ahead of their friends who aren't at Small Beginnings from a basic skills perspective (counting, letters, writing, etc).I've heard some concerns about "Montessori" - and I did not know too much about Montessori prior to sending our kids to Small Beginnings, but they follow a modified Montessori program -- so anyone who would dismiss Small Beginnings as an option based on being Montessori school still should check out Small Beginnings."
"I had a wonderful tour with Ms. Danielle! She is so kind and knowledgeable with Montessori! I am signing up this campus is gorgeous!"
"If you're in the area and looking for childcare, I would be passionately urging you to check this place out. - Locally owned - in fact, the owner Lydia is physically present and has her own child (or children, I'm not sure) in the facility. - When we were searching, it was important that the facility accommodate the dietary preference we have for our daughter - not medical dietary needs, dietary preferences. Other childcare facilities said I had to have a doctor's note for them to accommodate (um, no). When asked AAC, here's their response, which I think will help you understand what they're all about:Oh our owner is very passionate about different eating preferences, in fact, she is meeting with the chef and they are revamping the menu. They like to make different meals look the same so the kids don't feel odd eating something different (e.g. Vegetarian vs. Meat). At that moment I fell in love. Another one of the most memorable perks was the fact that they have their own "cafeteria/gym" area which is where the kitchen is, but they also hold Daddy Daughter dance type of events, and they also hold activities during the day for your kiddo to attend (like soccer or piano) which helps alleviate as many evening activities if so desired! Lastly and most importantly, their curriculum strategy and execution for Reggio is on point. I visited some places that execute it at bare minimum just to claim it, not this place. They are thoughtful in their strategy and passionate in their execution."

The School has had a great turn over of leadership and staffing. The atmosphere is calm and definitely Montessori. When I take my daughter to school it feels like I'm leaving her at home. The Guides are so wording, loving, and it is apparent they know my daughter. She loves going to school.

I sent my daughter here after returning to work when she turned 3. She had only been taken care of by me up until then, so it was a huge adjustment and the staff at Googols did an exemplary job of helping her and I adjust (it was tough for me, too! ). Now she loves going to school! And we've seen amazing leaps in her development, specifically in toilet training, adventurous eating, and the ability to entertain herself instead of relying on mom and dad to provide entertainment. She's so interested in everything around her now and she's always singing new songs she learns at school. Everyone in our family has experienced an enormous mood boost now that we all have work/school during the day!We love the care that the teachers here provide. They even fix her hair when it becomes unruly. Can't recommend Googols enough.

Goddard: Off 138th street in Olathe (right by Walmart) This particular location and this particular Goddard is absolutely amazing! I went through plenty of day cares, both corporate and in home in the Olathe area and always came back to this one. The staff is very welcoming. EVERYDAY you will get a very DETAILED report of your child's day. It is academically appropriate and you can tell that your child will be loved and taken care of in a safe and secure learning environment!

AMAZING! Our son absolutely loved his teachers and classmates! The facility is extremely clean and the staff really make a solid effort to get to know YOU (the parents) too. Everyday after school we received a detailed email update that showed all of the learning that took place... it really helped me to feel connected to my son's achievements and growth. We were sad to leave but we will definitely recommend this program to friends and family. THANK YOU Jerri, Kristin and the rest of the amazing staff!!!

My daughter is well cared for and enjoys being at Canterbury. The teachers and staff are kind, creative, and trustworthy. They are easy to talk to to learn more about what my child does throughout the day. They offer a top notch curriculum at a reasonable price.

You will not find better care for your kids! Dedicated staff who truly care for and engage with the children. Our son happily runs into the building every day because he is so excited to go to school! Staff send lots of pics and videos daily and are very responsive.

"Best School ever! Teachers and management are AMAZING! Our twins love it here! As a former asst director and pre k teacher at different facility I am very conscious of how teachers and staff are treated. Happy teachers means happy kids. I am beyond impressed with New Horizon North Olathe!"
"I needed temporary daycare for a couple days where my primary daycare was closed for annual training. They were accommodating for temporary care with the hours I needed. Alexandria the assistant director was friendly during the tour I requested and set me up on their video application to see the live stream. I checked in on the video often and Nacera was great with my 13 month old and appeared very attentive and playful with him. I will be happy to return as needed for the other days that my daycare is closed as needed. Thanks"
"I took my grandkids there while they were visiting us for a few days for about 4 hours a day and they loved it! They are almost 3 and 4. The staff was very friendly and it gave me time to run errands or just take a break. So I totally recommend it. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was the preschool and the craft making. The sign for what they would be learning in preschool was a month overdue along with the handout sheet on what they would be learning or doing. That was one of the biggest reasons I wanted them to go at the times I took them so they could go to class. But they never had it. So they definitely need to work on that part. As far as wearing them out and just having fun we give two thumbs up."
"An update to my review last year. We are still so thrilled to have our children enrolled at this facility. The staff treat my kids like family. Both our children, age six and three, love everything about going to La Petite. From the summer program, packed with field trips, to the special classes the kids can take, we are in love with this place!"
"Miss Monica in the infant room is AMAZING! She has been doing this for over 14 years and still loves it. When we brought Jordyn in, she had regressed in her development because of a bad daycare experience. Miss Monica worked with her daily to get her skills back to where they should be. Both Miss Monica and Miss Gina show their passion for the babies. They are always playing games, reading to them and encouraging the babies to take that next step in their development. They are so willing to comply with any of your requests, no matter how crazy they may seem, because they want what is best for the baby. Taking Jordyn to this daycare has been a blessing."
"Our 4 year old son has been attending Primrose for three years and our one year old daughter starts on Monday. We love that the location is free standing and appears very secure and well kept. The hallways are wide, clean and clutter free. The rooms all have a lot of windows and are well lit. There are age appropriate toys that do not look old or too worn. I consistently see money being put back into the property and the classrooms such as new ride on toys in the early toddler rooms and large touch screen computers in the preschool rooms. This location is definitely not convenient for us and, trust me, we have looked at several other daycare options that would be much closer to our home and work (more than once) but nothing ever compares to Primrose School of Leawood! We have been very happy here."
"Our family was lucky to find Primrose when it opened in 2019. First our 2 year old daughter attended, and then eventually our newborn son. I was initially nervous about a large center, but felt at ease after touring and meeting the staff. We have loved all of the teachers and the bonds our kids have formed with them.My daughter started kindergarten last year at our local elementary school and her preschool education at Primrose definitely gave her an advantage. She still loves talking about her old school."
"2020 was one crazy year! Old Mission Early Education Center has been the one thing we could really count on. The teachers did such a good job at providing my kids emotional support and a sense of calm. Throughout the year they provided the same incredible learning environment they always had but found a way to make it feel even more like a warm hug than it had before. Don't know what we would have done without them!"
"We have had a wonderful experience at La Petite Academy! Our daughter started as an 8-week old in Infant 1 and is just getting ready to move up to Infant 2. My top motivation for giving this establishment a 5 star rating is the staff. It is clear to me that each caregiver my daughter encounters at La Petite truly cares for her and genuinely wants the best for her. It is very comforting for me to know that she is in loving and capable hands each and every day. In addition to the high quality care that my daughter receives, she also is able to take part in numerous activities to enhance her development. The staff are very creative, and come up with unique curriculum (even for infant 1!) including the arts (painting), music, social, etc. I also greatly appreciate the organization and structure of each day. The system that La Petite has in place to track individual infant schedules and communicate that information efficiently to the parents (through an app) puts me at ease. I know my daughter will be fed and have her diaper changed at regular, dependable intervals. Overall, I highly recommend La Petite Academy for an exceptional childcare experience!"
"The staff is kind and caring and very patient. This place has been great for our two year old only child, her language skills have really expanded. Previously she would learn new words if we taught her new words, but now she comes home often with new vocabulary. They have been very flexible with a part time schedule, even when we needed to change our days every now and then. I have some dietary requests that they met with no problems and no attitude. Oh, and I asked and was told that everyone is vaccinated! If you need a full day or part time, this is a good place."
"Our son started at the Mission location when he was an infant. He transferred to the Metcalf location when it opened and he's been there ever since. The facility is safe, convenient and centered around the child. We've adored all his teachers and he loves going to school. My husband and I really appreciate the hours and, Premier doesn't have the typical spring break, holiday break or teacher in-service that would require us to find backup care. They also have fantastic activities and healthy food!"
"Montessori Plus of Olathe is THE second home for my kids. Every day they are bringing home new skills in life as well as math and language skills. At Montessori plus my kids set the table for lunch, crack an egg to make a cake, are reading and doing math skills long before kindergarten, sing songs, exercise, etc. This place is everything I could hope for my kids. Then at the end of the day, they roll down the car window and holler BYE! SEE YOU TOMORROW! I LOVE YOU!What more could I ever ask for ? :)"
"I sent my children here for a few months and had an incident with the infant room that raised real safety concerns. One day they forgot to feed my 3 month old baby for over 7 hours! They tried to lie and say that they just forgot to mark on her sheet that they fed her, but I dropped my baby off with 3 milk bottles and only 1 was empty. They fed her first thing in the morning and then nothing until I picked her up. They tried to lie again and said they must have fed her formula, but they only mix formula if you bring a clean, empty bottle, which she didn't have. They had young, inexperienced new ppl in the infant room and they simply forgot to feed my baby! They promised to keep "better track" but I insisted on her moving to another room with much better and more experienced workers. Even then I still worried every day and got them out of that facility as soon as possible!"
"My son is 2 and has attended this La Petite Academy since he was 10 weeks old. In a word, he LOVES it...so do my husband and I. It is just amazing how much he learns every day all while having a great time! He already knows all of his colors, can count to 20, name the days of the week, and so much more...the teachers and curriculum are outstanding. I would advise anyone in the Northland to check this daycare out, we are so glad we did!"
"Canterbury Prep in Overland Park is fantastic. We've loved all of the teachers our boys have had through the years. Our boys are 4 and 2 and we are amazed at the things they are learning at such an early age. The organization and activities are fantastic. We also get online reports and pictures about how the day is going. We could not be happier and our kids are going to be very prepared once they hit Kindergarten."
"I would highly recommend this preschool. My 3 year old went for almost 2 years before Kindergarten and his K teacher said he was well prepared for school. I felt like my son learned so much while he was there."
"My daughter loves coming here. She gets treated well and gets so much education. I love how they follow a schedule for the children."
"I love this YMCA. Instead of boozing my laid off days away in a deep depression, I've gotten into a nice little workout routine courtesy of this place. The Y is great because it's convenient, clean, and has all the classes/amenities you could need while not being a meat-head gym on steroids where you feel like you signed your life and soul away in the contract. Downstairs is where classes are, upstairs has tons of free weights, weight machines, a big row of treadmills, a big row of ellipticals (both have personal TVs hooked up to them), some bike machines and a big basketball court at the end. The staff is incredibly nice and you only need to give a 30 day notice to end your membership. Joint household memberships are $81 and anyone can join your account, thus making it pretty cheap. AND! If you're conveniently laid off like yours truly, you can get a $25 household membership for up to three months. I really appreciate this. All the classes I've tried are a great workout and not boring. I've tried spin (Beware if you have Kevin as an instructor: he is awesome and will KILL you), Body Blast and Yoga. You get a free physical assessment when you join to figure out what areas you need to focus on and target.Screw 24 Hour and it's other mega-clusterfuck gym cohorts...love the Y."
"My daughter has been going here since May and honestly has learned so much. They are wonderful with my daughter and always keep me in the loop of anything going on."
"My family has had such a great experience at blue Valley Montessori school. The staff is friendly very well educated and has made amazing progress with my child. And just for months we have seen a complete 180° change in our child's life. Make sure and give them a try."
"The owner is very rude hot headed and likes to bully people. We recieved several rude emails during the weekend one time non stop .she is getting to old to do this kinda of work and its showing big time shes realy forget full she has yelled at my wife a few times on the phone could not believe it now s hgv e threatened me with her lawer saying I broke our contract. And this is all over because I didn't want to buy batteries for a tablet that my sons to old for I dont recommend this place its been hell here I'm glad to be moving on from the emotional abuse"
"My daughter has been attending Kids at Heart since age 2 and she's now 4 & 1/2. We absolutely love this place. The teachers are amazing with the kids, they really work with them in all areas (emotional, cognitive, etc.), they are caring, attentive to their needs, patient, but also strong on rules and careful that every kid strive at learning. I'm really thankful that our paths crossed with KAH, Kim Ogle (the director/principal) and all the teachers."
"I have nothing but positive things to say about LSP in Overland Park. My daughter has been attending LSP since she was about 3 months old and I have been very impressed with LSP every step of the way. We love the daily report card, the ability to watch a live video feed of our daughter's classroom, and the safe and secure location. When accidents have occurred (which happen to all babies as they learn and grow), they have been addressed promptly and my wife and I are notified the next time we pick-up our daughter. Miss Madison, Miss Grace, and many of the other staff members have been fabulous to trust our daughter with each day. We have loved watching her grow over the past year and look forward to the months and years to come. You get what you pay for in a daycare, and LSP is truly worth every penny. From the work-friendly drop-off (6:00am) and pick-up (6:00pm) times to the loving teachers and everything in between, we greatly appreciate LSP!"
